Tolles Ambiente und sehr großzügige Zimmer. Freundliches Personal und schöner Saal zum Frühstück.
Plastikblümchen am Tisch passten nicht ganz zum Ambiente
The staff, food, location, decor.
The only negative was that the mattress a little worn. I slept well but my partner said his side wasn't the best (left hand side room 2)
Amazing historic property
Took a while for staff to realise we’d arrived to check in. No safe in the rooms
The breakfast was excellent. And staff were very friendly.

Superb two night break
Nothing
Wonderful location, a short walk from Osborne House. Walking distance to Cowes for bars and restaurants. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. A beautiful, comfortable hotel.
There were no bathrobes, as stated on booking.com. This was annoying, as I was packing light so didn’t bring my own.
Superb experience
Nothing
Beautiful location , very kind people
Homemade shortbread on arrival was a lovely touch. The evening meal was very good.
Excellent place, we will definitely come back again.
The breakfast was superb, plenty of lovely food & drinks . Beautiful hotel and pleasant surroundings, I picked this hotel as I wanted to stay in an old building with lots of character. I wasn't disappointed!! I would definitely stay again.
Nothing.
Lovely room and very friendly staff. Very good price too
Nothing not to like
The location was ideal the traditional room was large with high ceiling plenty of light from big windows large bathroom with shower good car parking food very nice
We missed out on the toast at breakfast a trainee member of the team was not exactly customer service skilled in her approach and attitude failing to take our order after laying the table. So a bit disappointing but all credit to the chef for a fantastic cooked breakfast
Very spacious apartment in a unique historic location with royal link. Breakfast was really nice. Location is perfect, easy to walk to the floating bridge for a dinner in Cowes harbor.
Staff at breakfast was not so motivated.
Convenient for bus services. Terminus five minutes walk from ferry terminal. Didn't need a car and went to Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, Newport and Alum Bay by bus.
Nothing.
We loved the staff and relaxed feel of the hotel. The gardens are lovely to relax in and also the food and service was just perfect in the restaurant. A really enjoyable weekrnd and we hope to return soon!
Lovely rooms, staff, breakfast, dinner and location.
A classy place, befitting its links to Osbourne House. Glad we stayed here.
Would have been nice to try all restaurant facilities. There were functions during our stay
Amazing character property full of charm and gracious staff

The building and location were fab.
Lack of air con when temps were mid 30’s
Wonderful historical property, Needs some work in areas but none the worse for this and fantastic location close to Osbourne house and near Cowes. Staff were great too. Great bathroom and ample parking.
No ac in rooms, but windows that opened fully and fans provided in room. They are short of staff but the ones there did there best to be in two places at once.
Authentic period accommodation, attentive staff, comfortable.
Appearance/dress of staff didn’t quite live up to expectation for a property of this style. Other guests were smart/casual at all times, yet staff were wearing trainers with cleaning cloths hanging out of their trousers and all their tattoos on show. Acceptable in many establishments but just felt slightly out of place here.
Lovely friendly staff, excellent breakfast

We stayed for three nights with friends, bringing our classic cars. Firstly, the parking was perfect, very safe and easy. The house is stunning, as befits a Grade II listed house built in the 1840's. It was purchased by Prince Albert in 1852, and used frequently by Queen Victoria. We were literally walking in her footsteps. It has been sympathetically and tastefully renovated. Our twin room on the ground floor was spacious and had very comfortable beds. The bathroom was excellent with a huge bath and a walk in shower. The linens were very good quality. Everywhere was sparkling clean. There were gallons of hot water, not that we needed it hot, as we were there in a heatwave! We took cold showers to cool off. The room was cool at night as it faced south east, so the sun was on the other side in the evening. All was excellent value for money. The sash windows took me back to my childhood and the props to keep them up at night were exactly what we had at home. Finding a craftsman to repair sash windows was not easy in 1965 so I can only imagine what it is like now. The props worked perfectly! The restaurant food was superb, as was the breakfast. The grounds are really lovely, huge, well kept, and we sat and drank champagne in the pergola early evening. It is a quiet area and we slept extremely well. The location is great, a 5 minute walk to Osborne House (Queen Victoria used to walk through a passage to get back and forth). It is about 10 minutes walk to the ferry for West Cowes, maybe 15 minutes on the way back as then it is uphill! But a pleasant walk both ways. Annie the owner has done a great job. She employs very loyal staff and their attention to detail is superb. We hope to visit again soon. Thank you Annie and staff.
The location and the actual hotel.were great. Exactly as described. Very comfy room and spacious bathroom. Lovely seating areas inside and out.
Some of the staff lacked a little ,' training,' in terms of customer service. E.g. The outside seating cushions were all put away on Tuesday evening by 7 pm when we went for a drink and it was gestured as to where they were to put them out ourselves. The restaurant/ bar was quiet and we had to seek out staff. Food was pretty good though disappointed to have very Thin sliced bread as toast . The sourdough with the scrambled egg etc was so so much better. The road noise didnt worry us..as obviously we had windows open Some guests might have been disturbed by the traffic noise.
Albert Cottage is a perfect location for getting out and about on the island it was as described and I will recomend it to friends and family. The staff were helpful and friendly, The breakfast was very good plenty of choice and the hot food was as it should be freshly cooked and hot.
There was nothing I didn't like.
A hotel of great character with an interesting history. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and there's an excellent restaurant on site.
Hotel was in a beautiful setting. Staff went out of their way. Room was lovely.
Beautiful hotel and the staff were excellent
It was a bit hot in the rooms, but they did give you a fan
After getting off the ferry, the hotel was reached in a very short time. The building is wonderful and our room was clean and very spacious. Breakfast options were very good and the food was excellent.
Would have liked to use the gardens and sit with a cold drink but the bar was not open after we’d checked in. It’s not a major issue but let guests know what is required.
The member of staff who dealt with us was very helpful but we couldn't speak to the owner /manager as she was uncontactable, busy working at the festival. Breakfast was average, not as good as The Wight Hotel.
The bars were closed at 9.30pm. The room furnishings were badly stained. The room carpets were badly stained. The bedside lampshade was torn. The wardrobe smelled musty. Bath water was brown. Milk sachets were sour. Needle found under the bed. They refused our emotional support dog even though we booked a dog friendly hotel. We offered to pay the dog supplement. They then said they would consider taking the dog but would have to charge an extra £100 + to Deep Clean the room! We had to then find someone to take the dog. It ruined the holiday. Was really looking forward to staying in a boutique hotel linked to Osborne House. Had to cancel our plans to visit Osborne House. Doubt very much Victoria or Albert would stay in a room so poorly kept! That room hasn't had a deep clean in years!
A lovely find, very friendly, it's like a 5* hotel, their restaurant is worth a visit on its own; they grow their own herbs, and food is locally sourced. They have a cozy bar, and breakfast is equally amazing. Spacious rooms, built for royalty (literally as that is its background)
Can't fault it!
The pleasant greet when we arrived. Welcome letter in the room explaining the history of the hotel from Annie Horne was a lovely touch. We were only to stay one night this visit but will certainly be returning again and have already told friends about it.
Food was very good. The staff were very helpful. Was a great stay
Lovely Hotel Will definitely return
Wonderful setting with lovely gardens. Good food on offer.
Room was a little cramped
Location was good as near Osborne. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helped us as we had a dog.
The windows were a bit difficult to keep open.
Great location, lovely surroundings. Breakfast was fabulous.
Nothing
This hotel if you love Victorian History and tranquility is for you ! Such beautiful decor cleverly designed and beautiful gardens is amazing! The food in the restaurant is absolutely fantastic we had breakfast lunch and dinner during our stay of 2 nights and congratulations to the amazing chef! The staff and the room was fantastic and drinks are reasonably priced.. I will return at the drop of a hat .. fab location too .. we were able to walk to Osbourne House plus walk to the floating ferry to West Cowes I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in the IOW well done Annie and you fantastic team.
We attended an Event there
Breakfast was a bit chaotic. Some areas in bedroom very very dusty
The Empress Room was beautiful. Spacious, fantastic bathroom, great views onto the garden. Supper was superb. Staff and owner were great hosts. Oozed with historical charm. 100% value for money. Will be back.
Only stayed one night.
The breakfasts were excellent with plenty to choose from. ( personally I would have liked a bit larger Albert breakfast but then perhaps I am just greedy!) We didn’t eat in the restaurant but the hotel was perfectly situated for some cracking local pubs.
Can’t think of anything
Steeped in history and nicely secluded
Shower and bath need a little maintenance
What a lovely hotel! Albert Cottage pervades the character of a Victorian manor house with its high and large rooms, period furnishings and good levels of maintenance. It provides a good standard of freshly made breakfast and a fine Sunday lunch (we were unable to visit for an evening meal due to other engagements). Of particular note are the attentiveness and communication skills of the staff. It is clear that the hotel takes time to train its staff and this pays dividends as they are fine ambassadors for their place of work. The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk to Osborne House (well worth a visit) and within walking distance of the centre of Cowes (using the Floating Bridge). We look forward to visiting Albert Cottage again in the future.
What a wonderful find this was. From booking on the phone, through arranging our ferry tickets and entrance to Osborne House, nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful, individual rooms, a well stocked bar, personal service throughout and a breakfast fit for a Prince Consort! Five stars, highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.
We had a fab stay in this beautiful location a stone’s throw from Osbourne House. Our rooms were beautiful, the staff were fantastic and the breakfast outstanding. We would definitely return Thank you for our stay.
Breakfast was excellent, room really comfortable.
The period charm and the people
A great experience staying at the Albert Cottage. Beautifully maintained. Our room was lovely, the staff helpful and friendly and food delicious. Location for the island is very good and a visit to Osborne house is a must. Nothing not like about this gem of a hotel.
Easy to find as just up the road from East Cowes ferry terminal. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated a nice size, and had plenty of storage for clothes. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and has an adjacent bar with the option of seating outside in better weather. The menu is not extensive, but still gives plenty of choice with the addition of any special dishes. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast catered for all tastes and is served in the main part of the hotel. The hotel staff are very proud of its history with its connection to Queen Victoria and her consort Albert. Each room is individually decorated with modern conveniences.
I want to say thank you to the Albert Cottage team for making me and my partners stay at the boutique hotel such a pleasure. We stayed for a mini-break over the bank holiday weekend in April. The room was spacious in a very traditional style. The bar downstairs is a delightful space for a drink before dinner. The hotel had organised music for the evening which was a nice touch. We enjoyed a two course meal inside the onsite restaurant. The scotch egg and 8oz steak with stilton sauce comes recommended. The nights sleep was comfortable (a tad warm) with a sensational breakfast in the morning. If you are looking for something a bit special, I would recommend a stay here.
Very friendly service and the breakfast was enormous!
Breakfast was a limited choice, always stay in 4 stars but various options not.on the menu & dinner wasn't value for money either
Room looked tired & needed refreshing, one chair was absolutely thread bare & wooden chair look tatty & not in keeping with the rest of the room, also shower gel was not replenished had to get from reception
We booked a 2 night stay with Travelzoo and were delighted. Lovely hotel well run by Chris and his staff were all delightful. 2 cocktails with delicious canapés on our first night and a fabulous 7 course tasting menu with good quality paired wines for each course. Don’t let your chef go anywhere !!! Our room (4) was large and comfortable but would be improved by some shelves or storage in the bathroom. I do suggest that the owner gets a report soon on the original roof which looks overdue for replacement.
Its location, the food and especially the staff was exceptional
The decor and the maintenance.
We went for a Mother’s Day lunch , portions were good, the meat and Yorkshire pudding was perfectly cooked and delicious. However, the roast potatoes and vegetables let the rest of the meal down ( potatoes tasteless and not particularly well roasted , cabbage / kale good but the red cabbage was sickly sweet and the swede/ carrot mix was so salty it was inedible , not one member of staff asked how our meal was until we’d finished . It appears the other tables were given gravy boats but we had been forgotten and were given 1 horseradish and 1 jug of water between 7 people. I don’t think we’ll be going back next year.
Lovely place to stay and a short walk to most places in Cowes (East and West)
I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday at Albert Cottage in January, where I’d been secretly booked into the Master Suite. and wow, what a room. Everything was beautifully presented and maintained to an incredibly high standard, and the bathroom was absolutely stunning. The team were fantastic throughout the evening and again at breakfast the next morning - nothing was too much trouble. A truly special stay in a gorgeous setting.
Was good helpful with our needs
No lock on bathroom but quick fixed
Spacious bathroom, good shower. The location is ideal as it is within walking distance of my daughters house. Lovely breakfast.
Windows vented, unable to close. Bar too busy in the afternoon for a drink.
I hadn’t realised the historic link of the property and that it was used for royal guests of Queen Victoria! I also therefore didn’t realise how close it was to Osborne house which was the purpose of our stay. The period features were fantastic and we were put in the Bridal Suite which was amazing. The stand alone bath was a real pleasure for me and the most comfortable I have ever experienced. The bed mattress was firm which I like and there was everything you need. The grounds were delightful and a lovely place to sit in the evening before dinner. I loved the homely feel despite its grandeur and the beautiful cat in the stairs as we went down for breakfast was an unexpected bonus! The staff were very friendly and attentive and I would definitely stay there again.
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property but I love places like this and a bit of peeling paint and dampness on the high old ceilings doesn’t bother me one bit but it might some people. The bed had a footboard and for my tall (6ft2) husband was difficult as he couldn’t get properly comfy and stretch out how he likes to do!
Very friendly and welcoming staff, location was superb ( by accident not design)! Breakfast was superb and the server couldn’t be more helpful!
Absolutely nothing!
Great location to Osborne house with a period charm given the royals used this residence. The service was lovely and so were the meals . Parking was also very easy.
The room layout to the bathroom was a bit strange, there was a loud dripping from the roof after the rain outside due to guttering issues
The location was good
The room was very run down paint chipped off and stains all over the carpet and furniture. Our room was so cold our baby woke up freezing so we didn't sleep from 230am. Really disappointed with our stay.
Great location near Osbourne House and ferry to Southampton. Lovely hotel with Victorian era history. Lots of variety for breakfast, so much food - no need for lunch! Lovely restaurant and bar area for afternoon drinks leading out to the gardens.
In room milk supplies were capsules as opposed to fresh milk, would be good to have an in room small fridge.
Lovely evening meal. Very comfortable and period room. Excellent breakfast. Efficient and pleasant staff for the whole of our stay.
Light on telephone that came on during the night.
Beautiful building and grounds and felt very festive with lovely Christmas decorations.
The location was convenient for access to other attractions and amenities.
The Hotel room we had was room 4 the Albert room. This room is immediately above the Engine Room which provide breakfast to guests. Consequently from approximately 7:20am every morning the door to the Engine Room is continually opening and closing with a loud bang every time which shook the floor and the bed in the Albert Room. So one didn't need an alarm call! The room itself was very tired and needs redecoration. The furniture apart from the large wardrobe and drawer unit was extremely shabby and would not have looked out of place in a junk yard or at the rubbish tip. The dressing table top was split and had a terrible large black stain on it while the accompanying chair was also badly split and splintered along the top. The sprung mattress on the bed is completely shot and the structure of the mattress collapsed such that it sags in the middle making it extremely uncomfortable. The fabric on the two side chairs was split and the button studs missing on one making it also uncomfortable. There were two chandeliers in the room with LED lamps in them. Unfortunately not all the LED lamps worked. The curtains in the room and in the en-suite bathroom were split / torn. The main restaurant was a long walk from the main hotel. The menu was extremely limited, gave a false impression and did not live up the the expectation set in the write up for the Hotel or its own documentation. While the food was edible it was generally poorly produced. We were the only people in the restaurant on the Friday evening. We cancelled our subsequent reservation and ate out. We have never encountered such a catalogue of problems with an hotel room before. This was meant to be a Deluxe Room. It certainly was not.
Lively and cosy and nice furniture nice bar
Nothing to dislike
What a lovely and historic stay - beautiful room that was dog friendly too. Highly recommended.
All good for us!
