The location was perfect, peaceful, tranquil and very beautifully decorated. The fireplace in the lounge was amazing. We had dinner there the one night and the food was fantastic. The staff were welcoming, professional and friendly.

Gleichzeitig ist Underberg nur wenige Minuten entfernt, und die Unterkunft ist ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge zum Sanipass und nach Lesotho. Unser Zimmer war wunderschön, sehr geräumig und verfügte über eine herrliche Terrasse mit tollem Ausblick. Besonders geschätzt haben wir den Ofen im Zimmer, der während unseres Aufenthalts im südafrikanischen Winter für eine gemütliche Atmosphäre sorgte. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet – frisches Obst, hochwertige Produkte und insbesondere der Kaffee waren ein echter Genuss. Wir wurden äußerst herzlich empfangen und während des gesamten Aufenthalts von ausgesprochen freundlichem und aufmerksamen Personal betreut. Auch das Abendessen in der Lodge können wir uneingeschränkt empfehlen: Die Steaks waren einfach hervorragend und mit die besten, die wir auf unserer Reise gegessen haben. Eine wunderbare Unterkunft mit herzlicher Gastfreundschaft, exzellentem Essen und einer fantastischen Lage. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

The privacy on the verandah between the rooms is nonexistent and very disturbing to what would have been an amazing weekend

Room was spacious and had all amenities to keep it warm. Serene surroundings. Friendly staff.

Our room was by the eating area / reception, it can get noisy. Generally constrained hours - dinner service ends at 7pm (from 5pm), no opportunity for lunch service and same limited breakfast daily. Cleaning at a specific time, otherwise you can’t be accommodated.

The mountain viewpoint from our bedroom Amber, the meaning of Amber resonated with me.

What a lovely, comfortable stay in a beautiful setting. Thando, Thandeka and team were very hospitable and always ready to assist with queries or requests. The rooms are spacious, the breakfasts simple but adequate, and the dinner menu has something for everyone. Sipping a sherry by the fire while gazing out into nature is blissful, as is walking the grounds and greeting the roosters, ducks and frogs.

Großes Zimmer mit Terrasse und Gartenzugang. Hilfsbereites und freundliches Personal. Essen im vorhandenen Restaurant sehr lecker.

Für die Größe des Zimmers war uns das Bett zu schmal (Queensize) und unbequem. Es fehlte leider eine zweite Sitzmöglichkeit. Das offene Bad hatte nur ein sehr kleines Waschbecken..

Very nice location in southern Drakensberge. Very well maintained with a eye on details. Beautiful garden and little lake with many options to relax. Staff very friendly and helpful to make stay a memory.

Super netter Empfang und absolut zuvorkommender Service. Top Personal Tolles Abendessen und auch sehr gutes Frühstück. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Das Malachit Manor liegt versteckt von der Straße an einem kleinen See. Die Aussicht ist außergewöhnlich schön. Wir waren nur eine Nacht, was definitiv zu wenig ist um das ganze Ambiente zu genießen. Das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen wurde sehr individuell nach deinen Wünschen serviert und war hervorragend. Das Malachit Manor ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert.

The accommodation was truly excellent in every respect. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged, creating a comfortable and relaxing environment. The bedding and amenities were of high quality, ensuring a restful stay. The staff were professional, warm, and attentive, always willing to assist and make the experience seamless. Common areas were well maintained, secure, and inviting, reflecting strong attention to detail. The location was convenient and peaceful, adding to the overall comfort of the stay.

A luxurious stay with an exceptional breakfast. Friendly, professional staff — one night was not enough.

I felt like I was overseas and the food was delicious.

The room close to dining area and reception, there are more private rooms, but it was comfortable.

The atmosphere was so cosy and comfortable, it makes you want to slow down and enjoy life. Very nice place and the staff was very nice. 100% recommend !

It’s a pretty part of the country side and the room had a nice patio to relax on.

The bathroom doors are sliders so not very private nor is the shower. The staff did not tell us that they would look the doors at night. We got there at 9 pm and couldn’t get in with our keys and had to walk behind the back and go through our patio door. It would have been good to be told this ahead of time.

Food was outstanding and the attention to detail made us feel like we were in a ski resort in Europe. Very well appointed. We will be back

We unfortunately had a very loud speaking guest next door. We mentioned it to reception on check out and were told they would have moved us if we had mentioned it. My bad for not however, the establishment would have sorted it out without a problem if we had raised the issue. Well done to the staff.

Very few DSTV channels in the bedroom. Yes, they had a lounge with all the channels but at night, after a long day, one wants to watch from the comfort of ones own room

The staff are very friendly polite and helpful breakfast was great. We also had dinner which was also very well preapared.The place is well situated in the quiet area very peaceful and night.

Bath towels just need some fabric softener. Also a full-length mirror in the rooms will be appreciated.

Great breakfast and nice dinner at the in house restaurant. As we were there mid week it was quiet but we appreciate being able to dine on site. Being allocated a ground floor room was fantastic. We liked the terrace oustide our room

Very nice lodge withwonderful garden and perfect starting point for excursions to Lesotho....Book Roof of Africa Tours! They are excellent and take you right from the hotel. Breakfast and dinner was very delicious and the staff was warm hearted! Excellent service. Thank you for a wonderful stay. There is a beautiful lobby with a nice fire place downstairs and a nice lobby upstairs with a smart TV so you can, if you like, sit there and stream something or read a book as well. There are non-smart TV's in the rooms as well.

All was fine indeed - just some small things -- Tissues in the room and maybe some additional sanitary products would be nice. Thank you!

Great room, loved the balcony and the setting was just beautiful. The decor was calming. The little details: electric blanket. Sherry on arrival. Real coffee. Face cloths. High quality bedding. The music choice in the public areas. Dinner was perfect. Loved the fireplace, it created a beautiful atmosphere.

A beautiful property. Fireplace was amazing. The restaurant, Charlie’s, on the property served great food as did Malachite Manor. Enquire about spa treatments in advance.

This location is absolutely enchanting, especially during autumn - the colours were breathtaking! The staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. We had one of the best burgers ever at Charlie’s - highly recommend it! Can’t wait to come back again.

Beautiful location. Great big room and had everything we needed. Friendly helpful staff. The restaurant, although run independently, was a treat, down on the dam! Will definitely stay again.

Our trip to Underberg centred around the Splashy Fen Festival. The establishment's location was excellent, and as a bonus, my husband and I got to explore the Lesotho Maluti Mountains.

The owners were very racist they accused my children on stilling the duvet cover and soiling the linen, after finding out that it was not them it was very difficult for them to even say sorry to us after serious accusation like this especially of accusing 10 and 12 year old children of stilling duvet covers and soiling the linen with blood.

Food not fresh at all. Same breakfast with very little options. The bed was not comfortable and we requested to be moved to another room.

Very peaceful atmosphere, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food is overall good - especially the oxtail!

The summer was very hot - a small air conditioner in the room would have been helpful for some of the hot days.

The place was clean,the food was great and the prices were most definitely reasonable I must say.

What a warm welcome from Thando the receptionist, she exceeded our limit. She was so friendly, literally took care of us during our stay. She even suggested some activities around the area, appreciate her! 🫶🏾

Came back from breakfast to a dirty room, unmade beds etc. Also the menu was a bummer as quite a few items/food was not available in the kitchen.

The dinner we had was exceptional. The lamb curry was one of the best I have ever ever had.

The room was a tad stuffy and could perhaps do with aircon. Otherwise we'll appointed. Also should have had milk for the coffee.
