The room and bed were comfortable
Breakfast was good. A good coffee would have been great!
The space of the kitchen, lounge, dining room, bedroom and bathroom was huge. Sitting on the stoep relaxing with a braai and enjoying the view was great
Cutlery must be addressed, making better choice and enough of what is required in a kitchen could help a lot. Please place kitchen towels to dry the plates ect after being washed.
Please maintain your beautiful property. Walls have cracks and the curtains have spots from moisture. The lady that prepared our breakfast was amazing, also loved the gent that received us on Sunday, he made sure the fire place stayed burning throughout our breakfast and the coldfront had hit the area.
No airconditioners in the room.
Great location. beautiful setting and tranquil.
The bathrooms need to be upgraded. Heating required in bedrooms for the frosty Winter months.
Great location
Property needs a little bit of attention... but only a little bit.
Everything was great.
Nothing.
Breakfasts were excellent
Peculiar way of making the bed. Apparently no top sheet and duvet very hot. On the second night I discovered the top sheet folded in a square under the duvet/ I removed the duvet and covered the bed with the top double sheet, which I tucked in and then used the throw provided for warmyh and discarded the duvet. Much more comfortable! The housekeeper was very efficient and pleasant. but I would like to have been greeted by the host on arrival
Very friendly staff and well situated

Location
Very dirty. Urine on the toilet basin by seat. Filthy kitchen. Dusty dusty. Needs a thorough clean. No hot water after 2nd shower.
Lovely big room and bathroom and great location
Seamless check-in and good communication from the owner facilitating a late check-in. Luxurious, spacious and very comfortable rooms. Staff were friendly and humble, quietly doing their job preparing a lovely English breakfast to our liking, plain and simple, but delicious. All of this enhanced with a beautiful view from the rooms and lounge area. Photos on website representing a true picture.
Nothing, all good.
Beautiful views, linen was fresh and clean, beds were warm and comfy. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful fireplace to sit and have tea in communal room by kitchen.
Very friendly staff, delicious breakfast.

Beautiful room and really lovely central living room with fireplace. Beautiful views
Nothing to dislike
Lovely old farm house setting
Could do with a fridge and maybe water in the rooms, the shower made the bathroom floor very wet.
Location
Bedding needs an upgrade
Regular visitor, excellent location and value for money.
Peaceful and neat. Perfect place to relax. Beautiful bedding. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly made and served. Lounge area is huge and comfortable
Would have liked a walk in shower rather than shower over the tub, however there are other units that have showers. Our bathroom, room 5, needs I little bit if tlc. But overall cleanliness was good.
Everything
Nothing to complain about.
Very peaceful and pleasant staff
Nothing
It was a beautiful old property
It was run down and needs to better upkeep. Was also not was clean as it should be. The staff also sat around in guest areas making it uncomfortable
Friendly staff
Partial DSTV package and our room struggled to receive wifi
Clean and good location
Bath tubs an painting are old
About 5 kms from Michaelhouse. Lovely setting in beautiful countryside. The large room we were allocated was as big as our two bedroom apartment.
Nothing really - perhaps the fact that you must concentrate while driving up and down the driveway
It is a beautiful property with spectacular views.
No a thing. Everything was great.
Needs some love
Bathrooms are dated and tiles dirty
It was clean & peaceful
The drive to the main house is a bit long.
We had the only self catering apartment and we were down away from the rest of the rooms, completely private Loved it
That we could have had a longer stay lol We loved it. There are no bad reviews from us
The remoteness and nature The breakfast was very good
Nothing worth mentioning.
Loved the comfy beds and beautiful view! Breakfast was also lovely! Feels very homely as well!
Loved everything, just be careful on Curry's Post Road if you have a small car!
The setting was impeccable with the best views ever. Rooms were neat and comfortable.
Conveniently situated in the midlands. Quiet and comfortable.
Kitchen utensils could include a few sharp knives instead of ONLY a bread knife. Would’ve been nice to have a dishcloth and drying cloth. Not much attention to detail. No hairdryer. Considering all the competition in the area there is definitely room for improvement.
Strong wifi coverage
Old and Shabby. The carpets were old and dirty. Pillows were old and stained. Plugs were a mess. No security. The house use top on a hill, just guests staying, was a bit nervous as there was no form of security, didn't feel safe so instead staying two nights, did one night only and lost money on the accommodation.. Expected a lot better . Bathroom taps for the shower were not easy to use. Clearly the rooms need renovations and a facelift. The road getting to the lodge was gravel and dirt roads, clearly this is not noted on the website. Breakfast was ok, burnt toast. Tv did not work. Disappointed with the accomodation overall
Last week Annalize and I stayed at Arum Hill Lodge, and from the moment we arrived we felt completely at home. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere that set the tone for our entire stay. There is so much to enjoy on the property itself. We especially loved the pool table, spent leisurely afternoons playing rummy on the patio, and had a braai on two of the three nights we stayed there. Everything felt unhurried, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for guests to truly unwind. Our original plan was to explore the Midlands Meander every day, but the lodge turned out to be so peaceful and restorative that we hardly wanted to leave. In the end, we only ventured out to get supplies for the evening braai and spent the rest of our days simply relaxing and soaking in the tranquillity of the property. If you’re looking for a place that feels welcoming, calm, and effortlessly relaxing—whether for a short break or a longer stay—Arum Hill Lodge is a gem we would wholeheartedly recommend.
Nothing at all — our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and we wouldn’t change a thing.
Beautiful quiet venue.
What a magnificent setting ! The staff was exceptional in making us the most delicious breakfast. Thank you for a wonderful stay !
Beautiful setting, comfortable room etc. We were not there for long however, as down for a memorial service, so an in and out rapid visit.
Not partial to showers in baths. Happy with no bath, just a nice size shower. Noticed the electric boundary fence down driveway was damaged in many places. Not sure obviously of safety issues/ risks of the area.
The property is in the heart of midlands, very peaceful, clean and as advertised. Friendly staff and all utilities were working and up to standard. Would definitely stay there again
Love staying at Arum Hill. Staff are friendly and welcoming. View is just beautiful!
It needs a bit of attention to detail. Some maintenance, but nothing serious!
Great location and peaceful.
The dining/kitchen could do with a better furniture. The signage at the gate could be bigger and better presentation. Documentation with our details left on the table for everyone to look at.
Jan is always very welcoming and it always feels like home away from home.
The beds were comfortable. Jan was really friendly and helpful. He saw to it that I had delicious fresh gluten-free bread.
Very little attention to detail. TV blaring during breakfast, no marmalade. The veranda is gorgeous, but unused. No fresh fruit for breakfast.
Room Size, Big bed, breakfast
Gravel Road
Beautiful location Spacious room
No glasses in room, no fridge facilities available. Cushions need replacement Staff placed a tip glass at breakfast table which was odd. Wifi was not reachable in room and you would need to walk to main house if you wanted to make use of the facility. Lovely location and spacious room, but finer touches lacking
The bath shower was a bit awkward maybe shower and seperate bath
Good location felt safe! Love the fire place
There were some spider webs on tv stand and electric floor didn’t work!
Most comfortable bed ever!
Location
They need to upgrade the facility e.g a mixer in the shower. Having to balance hot and cold water in the shower is so 1998.
Room was lovely and clean. Enjoyed a lovely freshly made breakfast the next morning.

The place was cosy and met our expectations. The manager made sure were comfortable. He is such a lovely host
I wish they had aircon to warm up the whole room but they had electric blankets atleast. We were warmly tucked un
we love it at Arum Hill Lodge, staff are friendly, it is clean, has Tv, warm beds, and the breakfast is yum. Jan is very helpful and friendly. It is a place that you will keep going back to.
Lacking attention to detail on cleaning .
