Rain Forest Inn

This place is a must-visit for all travelers interested in the culture and way of living of native people of the rainforest: the host and the staff are very welcoming and kind, they serve excellent traditional meals and will take you into the forest and explain you how to derive food, shelter, medicaments from there. The village and the rooms are very beautiful and natural, and still, they are equipped with all comfort. Also, the host, On Gee, will take care of your transfert in/to the next locations and of organizing visit to Cameron Highlands or to the rainforest. Given the location in the middle of nature, there can be bugs and ants, but to the extent that they create any nuisance. And anyways the staff is very helpful to address the issue if they create inconvenience.

Een echte aanrader! Prachtige hut, supervriendelijke mensen en het eten was subliem (er werd rekening gehouden met vegetariers). De wandeling was ook heel fijn met vele weetjes uit de natuur. Een onvergetelijke unieke ervaring!

La cama era muy incómoda

Fijn contact met de beheerder van het jungle resort. Authentiek verblijf, waar je te gast bent bij een grote familie die ook op/ nabij het verblijf woont. Wij waren er met ons gezin (3 kinderen van 11, 13 en 14 jaar) voor 2 nachten. We hebben dus ook 2x avond gegeten en 2x genoten van het ontbijt. Natuurlijk mochten ook wij even blaaspijp schieten. Erg leuk. Omdat we er in het weekend waren, bleven we de hele zaterdag op het terrein. De omgeving staat dan namelijk in de file... Niet handig getimed voor ons om de Cameron Highlands verder te ontdekken, wel een heerlijke relaxte dag op het terrein. Het is heerlijk badderen in het natuurwater. Lekkere hangmatten op het terrein. De eigenaar heeft voor ons een gids geregeld om de Mossy Forest te bekijken. Goed geregeld en uitgevoerd conform afspraak. De Mossy Forest zelf viel tegen; maar niet het verblijf :) Hadden onze eigen lunch voor de zaterdag mee, inclusief wat snackjes en drankjes (geen koelkast!). Dat werd vooraf ook goed gecommuniceerd, dat dit handig was.

Le comodità passano in secondo piano quando si vive un’esperienza al Rain Forest Inn. Si riscopre il gusto di ciò che è essenziale, pur non mancando assolutamente nulla. Cena e colazione sono varie, abbondanti e genuine. Accoglienza speciale da parte del proprietario e di tutto il suo staff. Grazie per averci fatto vivere un soggiorno veramente speciale !

Idyllische Lage im Dschungel abseits der typischen Touristenpfade. Liebevoll gestaltete Anlage, einfach, familiär, herzliche Gastfreundschaft. Wir wurden köstlich bekocht und haben aus erster Hand über die Lebensweise der Orang Asli erfahren. Wir waren ohne Auto unterwegs und unsere Weiterreise nach Taman Negara wurde super organisiert. Großartige Gastgeber, eines unserer schönsten Erlebnisse in Malaysia. Ein großes DANKE!

Super expérience au bord d’une cascade et rivière. Nous étions avec des enfants de 6 et 4 ans. Ils ont adoré se baigner dans la rivière et faire du radeau. Il faut avoir conscience que les équipements sont rudimentaires et que nous dormons avec le bruit de l’eau. Mais c’est ce que nous recherchions. Notre hôte nous a organisé une demi journée dans les plantations de thé et Mossy Forest. Nous lui avions demandé qq jours avant notre arrivée. Dîner et petits déjeuners excellents

Einfache aber gepflegte Bambushütten abseits des Trubels der Cameron Highlands. Gute Moskitonetze. Leckeres Frühstück und Abendessen. Sehr schöne Badestelle. Platz für die Kinder zum erkunden.

Die empfohlene Tour zum Mossy Forest war gefühlt überteuert.

Tout était parfait.

Leuke plek voor 2 nachten waar je leert hoe men oorspronkelijk leefde in dit gebied. De kinderen vinden de blaaspijp voor de jacht heel interessant en het zwemmen met het vlot. eten was smaakvol. Eigenaar is zeer vriendelijk. Bracht ons naar de weg om de minibus te pakken die hij voor ons had geboekt. Er is geen luxe maar voor 2 nachten is dat prima.

We hebben de wandeling in de jungle gedaan van 2 uur. Op aanraden van de eigenaar. Dit stelde weinig voor. Klein stukje omhoog. Daar lang zitten om te lunchen op kampvuur en dezelfde weg weer terug. Wij hadden achteraf liever 4 uur gaan wandelen. Of meer wandelen in de 2 uur. Klein punt hoor, dikke 9 deze accommodatie.

Fijne locatie midden in het regenwoud van de Cameron Highlands. Heerlijk ontbijt en diner - vers gemaakt door de oran asli bewoners. Super gastvrijheid en de 4 uur wandeling (aangeboden door het team) is een geweldige ervaring. Pittige klim maar meer dan de moeite waard.

La gentillesse et les explications de Gee Tatt et Muin sont très appréciables. La nature qui nous entoure et le calme sont parfait pour se ressourcer entre deux villes. La nourriture était plus que délicieuse en plus de copieuse. Nous avons adorés !

It truly is a raiforest getaway. A few huts in the forest. Breakfast, dinner and trek were excellent. Hut and bed surprisingly comfortable. Sanitation just about still OK. The raft and swim were wobderful. Our son played even with the local school kids who were visiting. Highly recommend for 2 nights. For longer, it needs a good tolerance for very basic conditions.

Bardzo klimatyczny nocleg w chatce z bambusa. Pięknie położony, w dżungli, 1,5 km od osady. Chatka jest bardzo skromna, ale ma gniazdka z prądem, łazienkę z podstawowym wyposażeniem i moskitiery na łóżkach. Śniadania były smaczne, można też domówić obiad w cenie 40 ringidów za osobę, także był smaczny. Gospodarz fajnie nam opowiedział o dżungli, różnych roślinach, mogliśmy też postrzelać z dmuchaw. Jedyna uwaga, mieliśmy chatkę blisko wodospadu i szum wodospadu był na tyle duży, że nieco przeszkadzał w spaniu, a rano nie usłyszeliśmy dzwonków alarmu. W domkach położonych dalej od wodospadu pewnie tego problemu nie ma. Ale warto pomyśleć o zatyczkach do uszu.

La rivière qui traverse la propriété est absolument magnifique. Les enfants ont pu s'y baigner et vivre une véritable aventure, comme dans Koh-Lanta. C'était magique de les voir s'amuser au cœur de la nature. Les hôtes sont d'une gentillesse incroyable. Ils ont pris le temps de nous faire découvrir plein de choses fascinantes sur la nature, comme la fabrication du savon, les parfums naturels et bien d'autres découvertes qui ont captivé les enfants. Le logement est très cosy, on s'y sent immédiatement bien. Quant au repas, il était tout simplement exceptionnel : je vous recommande vraiment de le prendre, cela vaut largement le détour. Les hôtes sont toujours à l'écoute, disponibles, serviables et d'une grande bienveillance. Pour être honnête, nous avons presque préféré l'hôtel à la région elle-même. Nous y étions un samedi et les embouteillages étaient vraiment impressionnants. Il ne faut surtout pas les sous-estimer : il nous a été impossible de rejoindre la forêt ou le marché de nuit tant les routes étaient saturées. Heureusement, nous avons trouvé un véritable havre de paix dans ce lieu magique, ce qui a rendu notre séjour inoubliable. Je recommande cet endroit à 1000 % ! For just 100MYR they will bring you and pick you up to town for your day in the Highlands. After that you can relax, swim, have a delicious traditional meal and relax. Absolutely your best choice!

Un séjour incroyable dont nous nous rappellerons ! Nous avons passés 2 nuits dans cet environnement si paisible au plus proche de la nature avec tout le confort nécessaire ! Nous avons eu de nombreuses explications sur les méthodes de chasses , les différentes plantes qui nous entouraient et que dire des repas ! Nous avons pris les deux soir le repas indigènes qui étaient délicieux et variés (nous pouvions même assister au début de la préparation culinaire), les petits déjeuners étaient différents chaque s matins et quel délice ! Notre petit garçon de 3 ans continue de dire que c’était son meilleur moment en Malaisie ! Et petit plus pour la baignade rafraîchissante dans la rivière !

Rien tout était parfait ! Même les moustiques ont été sympas de ne pas trop nous piquer !

Beautiful day out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Felt Intune with nature. It's a wonderful stay for people who look for a day to connect with nature.

The location is 15km from Ringlet but the roads leading to the Rainforest Inn are in good condition and not winding. The staff waited for us at the entrance and brought us to our hut, he then waited for us to finish dinner and show us around. We are happy with the service but just need to take note that the location is not in Ringlet but 15km away. The waterfall next to our stay is so beautiful! We love it!

This place was a really cool experience. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The location is beautiful and the meals are excellent. We also really enjoyed a guided hike in the rain forest.

Het verblijf in de Rain Forest Inn was een hele leuke en bijzondere ervaring. De familie geeft extra informatie/demonstratie over de traditionele manier van jagen, je kunt meehelpen om de traditionele maaltijd welke wordt geserveerd, te bereiden en het is zeker aan te raden om een jungletrek bij te boeken. Tijdens de trek worden maïskolven en eitjes op het vuur bereid. Het zwemmen in het riviertje met de waterval is ook erg leuk en verfrissend. Als je maar 1 nacht verblijft, raad ik aan direct om 14 uur in te checken, zodat je voldoende tijd hebt om van alles te kunnen genieten.

If you want something different, something authentic, that is it. It’s not just a stay, it is an experience. The food was just amazing, the staff was super nice and helpfull. We learned a lot about the native live in the jungle. Oh and the river, kids were in it the whole time, didn’t want to leave.

Don’t expect a Lucious hotel here, but a stay away from the city. When that’s your expectation, this is the perfect place. We loved our stay, the dinner, local breakfast and the helpful staff.

Absolument TOUT! La gentillesse de Mui et Gee Tatt, leur disponibilité et leurs explications. L'initiation aux flechettes par Mui a été un moment très sympathique par toute la famille. L'endroit est merveilleux, au calme, avec une nature luxuriante. La cuisine est absolument excellente, variée et faite maison. Pour l'accessibilité, nous sommes arrivés en bus à Tana ratah et Gee Tatt nous attendait au terminal, donc organisation très simple! Je recommande ++++. Ce fut notre coup de ❤️ de notre voyage.

Uns hat hier einfach Alles sehr gut gefallen. Die Lage mitten im Dschungel und in schönster Natur ist traumhaft. Man wohnt in einer sehr gemütlichen und einfachen Hütte bzw Bungalow und kann jederzeit den Geräuschen der Natur lauschen. Alle sind wahnsinnig nett und hilfsbereit und haben sich sehr gut um uns gekümmert, es war so persönlich. Wir hatten einen Krankheitsfall und sind dadurch viel im Gespräch gewesen und wurden fürsorglich behandelt. Das Essen ist auch richtig lecker und besonders und es macht Spaß, den Erklärungen von Gee dazu zuzuhören. Es war eine unglaubliche tolle Erfahrung und hoffentlich können wir irgendwann zurückkommen.

Die Lage ist ein Traum, Gee war sehr freundlich, hat uns viele tolle Tips gegeben und viel zu der Natur erzählt. Autentisches lokales Essen, kleiner Bereich zum Baden, die Unterkunft hat durch die Bauweise eine schöne natürliche Durchlüftung

Einziges Manko ist die Lautstärke des Wasserfalls - ist aber eben die tolle Natur und mit geht auch das :-)

Un lieu en pleine nature, entouré d’arbres et bordé par une petite rivière, idéal pour ceux qui recherchent le calme et l’authenticité. Le logement est volontairement très simple : une petite cabane en bois, une douche, un matelas au sol avec moustiquaire. Rien de luxueux, mais une expérience brute et dépaysante, loin des standards urbains. L’environnement est paisible, sans fioritures, parfait pour se reconnecter à la nature. Une petite amélioration pourrait être apportée au rangement de quelques affaires ici et là en extérieur afin de rendre l’ensemble encore plus soigné, mais cela n’enlève rien au charme global du lieu. Le gérant est très sympathique et passionné : il prend le temps de faire découvrir différentes variétés d’arbres et de feuilles, ce qui est enrichissant et intéressant. Le dîner du soir est excellent et, à mon sens, indispensable car il n’y a rien aux alentours. La cuisine locale est savoureuse et fait partie intégrante de l’expérience. Petit déjeuner trés bien. En soirée, l’équipe propose des activités originales comme le tir à la sarbacane ou la découverte de techniques de chasse traditionnelles des peuples autochtones, ce qui ajoute une dimension culturelle très appréciable. En résumé, un hébergement simple mais chaleureux, idéal pour ceux qui souhaitent s’éloigner des logements classiques et vivre une expérience au cœur de la nature.

Gee is a helpful host supporting all logistics before/during/after our stay. We stayed with teo kids (9 and 11) and had fantastic experience in Rain Forest Inn. Definitely recommend to stay here close to jungle and far away from beaten tracks full of tourists.

We had a really nice time and really enjoyed our stay there! The location of the huts / restaurant is just utterly beautiful, with a nice waterfall / river / cascades going through the whole property. There are plenty of options for relaxing, reading a book and just enjoying the time in the jungle (i.e. multiple hammocks with nice views, a raft in a little pond, etc.)! Food wise, you can have a very tasty and local dinner mostly with lots of greens, vegetables, a soup, fish or chicken, sweet potatoes, rice, etc. Same goes for the breakfast, which is changing regularly - perfect way to experience the local kitchen. In general, I have to point out the hosts who are very accommodating and happy to explain practices of the native population regarding food, hunting, life, etc. but also recent developments in the region. We were also picked up from ringlet and transport to Georgetown / Kuala Lumpur was arranged aswell for us. Activities can also be arranged if you want (i.e. 4h Jungle Trekking) - again very straigthforward and easy going :) In case I'm in the area again, I'll definitly come back! 100% recommend it!

The staff is amazing. The owner super helpful and very nice, recommended tours. We did the 4h jungle trekking tour with native tour guide, including lunch on camp fire and explanation of plants. The dinner (40/pax) and breakfast is especially authentic and the owner explains everything I'm detail. The cabins are very clean and comfortable. The owner even helped us organise transportation to Langkawi very spontaneously. We highly recommend it if you want to have a unique jungle experience.

The location right next to the waterfall and in the middle of the rain forest is just wonderful. We also very much enjoyed the local breakfast and dinner. The staff was also very helpful and kids-friedly. They organised a whole day tour for us and a hike into the rainforest including campire with roasted corn. Absolutely amazing!

Heel leuke ervaring om zo middenin de jungle te slapen. Accomodatie was heel eenvoudig, maar dat is precies wat we zochten. De kinderen hebben zich enorm vermaakt met het vlot en de waterval. Gee is heel behulpzaam en wil je alles vertellen over de gebruiken van de mensen die er wonen. We hebben een heel leuke tijd gehad!

Everything exceeded our expectations — the heartfelt hospitality, amazing food, comfortable sleep, and the beautifully native like built jungle house. Being right next to a river where we could swim like in a private pool was so nice. The tours were perfectly organized, and every detail showed genuine care. A truly exceptional jungle experience.

Traditional rustic accommodation, very clean. friendly staff, educational experience, lovely home cooked food which we helped prepare with Muin’s family, learnt how to use a blow pipe & set traps, Gee arranged a taxi for us from KL & onward to Penang, he also organised a two hour jungle trek with Abba into the heart of the jungle where he cooked lunch sweetcorn & egg on an open fire, Ravi took us on a four hour tour of tea plantation, trek up Coral Hill, & a visit to a strawberry picking area & butterfly farm.

Photos don’t do it justice - this place is incredible. The best service from Tan and his team and the food was amazing. Location isn’t an issue at all as absolutely everything can be covered from the accommodation. A bonus little swim in the river after a short walk was looovely. Unique experience and one we won’t forget! Cameron highlands main town is honestly not a place you want to stay, as tourism has destroyed it.

If you are looking for a place to retreat and spend some calm hours, this is it! The lodge is located at the border of the rainforest and consists of many small wooden huts. There is a clear river to bathe in, hammocks around the compound and a nice terrasse. During your stay you will gain insight into the local natives hunting tactics, useful plants and typical foods. La salle de bain très spartiate mais c est le jeu de vivre dans la jungle

Everything. Authentic and delicious dinner and breakfast. Simple, but extremely cozy hut. Friendly and kind staff. Wonderful surroundings.

Je gaat echt back to basics maar dat maakt het juist zo leuk en avontuurlijk. Midden in de jungle slapen! De hut waarin we sliepen had 4 "slaapkamers" en is de 1e hut die gebouwd is. De gastheren zijn zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We waren met de bus een heel stuk doorgereden richting Cameron Highlands maar dat was geen enkel probleem. Binnen half uur werden we opgehaald door de zoon van de eigenaar. Eten is zeer autentisch en lekker, alles gemaakt van verse producten. We hebben die 2 dagen dat we er waren echt genoten van alles!

As the posts say, it was such a great experience. It’s 100% rustic, so consider it glamping. But it’s comfortable, the huts are well ventilated with the native materials and build, and with a fan going, we were good. It was cool sleeping to the sounds of the jungle. The host was great, and the dinner and breakfasts were both great. I loved sitting by the little waterfall. This place is a gem if you want an authentic experience learning about to Orang Asli.

This place is amazing! It's a super cute indigenous type accommodation with bamboo huts, mosquito netting, and a really awesome outdoor eating/relaxation area right next to a waterfall. Not only do they make traditional local food for you for both dinner and breakfast, but they also make it in the traditional ways. And they give you a blowdart lesson! We also hired a local guide to take us on a 4-hour jungle trek around the property, which was harder than expected, but so amazing! This was so much more relaxing than staying in town, really glad we stayed here for two nights!!

Esperienza fantastica in una location unica per riscoprire la natura più vera in un'area, le Cameron Highlands, che ormai di genuino non ha più molto. Si dorme in capanne su palafitte, si mangia cibo tradizionale su una terrazza di bambù affacciata sul torrente, si dorme cullati dallo scrosciare dell'acqua e dai suoni della foresta, è possibile fare il bagno sotto una cascatella da fiaba e fare passeggiate nella foresta pluviale accompagnati da guide che, come il personale, vengono dal villaggio vicino (non sempre parlano inglese). Le capanne sono piuttosto basic ma offrono tutto il necessario e alcune hanno il bagno privato. Non c'è wifi nè copertura per i cellulari non malesi. Si è circondati dalla foresta pluviale, ma la civiltà non è lontana - se si dispone di un auto ci si può spostare facilmente per raggiungere le attrazioni della zona.

Pulizia e manutenzione del bagno potrebbero essere migliorati.

2 nachten verbleven. Prachtige locatie met hele vriendelijke en behulpzamers beheerders. Het eten was ook heerlijk, zowel ontbijt als diner. De huisjes waren basic maar helemaal prima en schoon. Ze hebben ook een wandeltocht voor ons geregeld met een plaatselijke gids die echt super was. Al met al was het een geweldige ervaring gehad op een fantastisch mooie plek die we niet hebben willen missen.

Le dépaysement total, le rapport à la nature et la gentillesse des personnes. Ong gee propose des prestations de transport. Il propose aussi des animations découverte du mode de chasse et surtout nous fait découvrir les plantes et leur bienfait, de la forêt aux alentours. C’est un hôte très accueillant qui aime partager sa passion. Les repas sur place sont merveilleux dans un cadre hors du commun.

Hier krijg je een beetje het gevoel hoe het is om in het regenwoud te wonen. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en legt graag dingen uit. Neem ook zeker deel aan de hike. Leuk en leerzaam. De verfrissende duik in de rivier is een fijne manier om even af te koelen.
