This property is in an excellent location, it has the best rooftop view in Bhaktapur. Very reasonably price for breakfast included. We ended up eating most our meals here. The staff are very kind and compassionate.

The staff is amazing, kind and helpful, I really appreciated it ! My room was exactly as described and there is a beautiful view from the rooftop. The breakfast is freshly made and really good. If I am coming back to Bhaktapur I would definitly stay at Tulaja.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location - just a short walk to the main square.

I agree with previous reviews that staff are super friendly, warm and accommodating. They made me feel welcome and seen. Whenever I walked by they checked in to see whether everything was fine. They also provided me with suggestions for hikes in the area. The hotel and room made me feel calm and at home, and the rooftop gave an amazing view of the city and the surrounding mountains. On clear days, the Himalayas could be seen. There was unlimited access to filtered water and toilet paper. I would stay here again

Keep in mind, as a western tourist, you need to buy the tourist ticket for Durbar-square as the hotel is situated in this area. Since you probably will be visiting this area anyway, you will have the ticket. It is valid for the length of your stay. For example, my ticket was valid for 1 week.

I had a pleasant stay at Tulaja Hotel during my visit to Bhaktapur. The check-in process was quick and hassle-free, which set a great first impression. Compared to Kathmandu, Bhaktapur feels much quieter and more peaceful, making the overall atmosphere around the hotel very relaxing. The hotel itself has a warm, homy vibe, housed in a traditional building that reflects the character of Bhaktapur’s dense historic area. One of the best features is the rooftop bar, where you can enjoy stunning views of Bhaktapur Durbar Square along with the silhouette of surrounding mountains. It’s also a great spot to catch both sunrise and sunset. The room was fairly spacious—comfortable for two people, even though I stayed alone. The bathroom was clean, and the hot water worked well. There’s no air conditioning, but honestly, it’s not needed since the weather in Bhaktapur is naturally cool and comfortable. A fan is provided, which is more than enough. The price is very affordable, around IDR 200,000 per night, and it already includes breakfast, making it a great value for money. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One thing to note: since I chose a more budget-friendly room, it was located on the sixth floor, so I had to climb quite a few stairs. However, considering the price and overall experience, it was absolutely worth it. Overall, Tulaja Hotel is a great choice if you’re looking for a cozy, affordable, and authentic stay in Bhaktapur.

Great location on quiet alley but close to sights. Wonderful staff, friendly and helpful, nice to play guitar with them one night. Had the suite with balcony, wonderful, very cosy, felt at home. Liked the old house very much with al the steps and corners and wooden beams in the ceiling. Would return any minute.

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. My room wasn't big but with a clothes hanger and a table with chair so there was enough space for all my things. There is a kettle and hairdryer too. The towels are nice and clean.

The bed was a bit sagging. The breakfast served on the roof top is tasty but smallish.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Tulaja Boutique Hotel, sans doute notre meilleur logement depuis le début de notre séjour au Népal il y a un mois. Le chaleureux style Newar du lieu et de la chambre nous a donné l’impression d'être comme chez nous. Idéalement situé, au cœur de Bhaktapur nous avons pu circuler à pied dans l'enceinte de la ville et revenir rapidement déposer certains souvenirs lorsque nos sacs en étaient trop chargés. Oui, il est difficile de ne pas craquer parmis toutes ces boutiques ! Le rooftop, où nous avons pris nos petits déjeuner, offre une vue à 360° sur la ville et les montagnes. Le coucher de soleil y est magnifique. En sortant de l'hôtel, sur la droite, ne manquez pas le restaurant Balakhu food point. Nous nous y sommes régalé 3 fois pour un prix plus que raisonnable. Le personnel de l'hôtel est au petit soin ! Je recommande vivement cet hôtel pour un immersion totale dans cette jolie ville de Bhaktapur.

Все очень понравилось. Отличный отель, расположение и персонал. Порадовала теплая простынь, отличный вариант в прохладное время. Имеется фен, чайник, посуда. Вообще всё супер. С удовольствием вернусь еще если буду в Непале.

Wat me het meest beviel aan Tulaja Boutique Hotel was de centrale ligging in Bhaktapur, het vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel en het ontbijt op het dakterras met mooi uitzicht.

Wat me minder beviel aan Tulaja Boutique Hotel was dat er geen kasten en geen nachtlampjes in de kamer waren, en dat de kamer niet helemaal donker was voor het slapen. Desondanks heb ik het verblijf als prettig ervaren, mede dankzij de vriendelijke medewerkers en de centrale ligging.

The location is very close to Centre. On street front, the room was noisy with scooters and people using the well opposite. Thank god for the heated blanket!! The shower was fabulously hot. Breakfast was a nice mix of fruit and egg and pancakes.

The entire hotel could do with a refurb. The balcony breakfast seating was dusty and dirty. Windows dont fit properly so cold air makes the rooms cold. I had to request a pillow case change the minute I walked in. The staff don't seem to have much initiative (always on their phones ...).

Room was pleasant and spacious. Tea and coffee provided in room. A decent breakfast served on the rooftop terrace. Nice views of the mountains on a clear day. Staff at reception helpful and friendly.

Room was cold, especially in the evening. There was an electric blanket on the bed but that was the only heating in the room. During the four days I stayed, the room was not cleaned. I'd suggest checking rooms on daily basis to tidy up (empty bins, replenish coffee and tea, change towels, etc)

Great staff and had a big room so was spacious with a balcony. Was on the right side not to hear the dogs but there was live music that was quite loud on the Saturday evening.

The hot water took ages to heat up and ran out quickly.

La chambre 303 est mal insonorisé.

Deuxième séjour dans cet hôtel. La chambre donnant sur l'arrière est beaucoup plus calme. Le personnel est toujours au top. L'emplacement est parfait.

Il faudra penser à un bon coup de peinture dans la salle de bain.

屋上太陽光利用温水のため朝方は湯が出ない。部屋に暖房が一切なく、電気毛布使用を勧められるも電気毛布が暖かくならない。裏が生演奏レストランで音楽が爆音。

I had a pleasant stay at Tulaja Boutique Hotel, it's few steps away from Durbar Square, in the heart of old town. The atmosphere at night is magical. Staff was lovely and nice breakfast on the rooftop.

Nothing. Just watch out the stairs, it's an historical hosue with steep stairs to keep in mind for people with limkited mobility, Staff will help to bring the luggage to the room.

The staff were generally polite and helpful. Good location.

The rooms appear somewhat old, which makes cleanliness even more important in order to ensure a comfortable stay. However, the level of cleanliness was inadequate. For example, there was a noticeable buildup of dust on the balcony window and around the bedside area, indicating that these areas were not regularly cleaned. Upon check-in, the toilet bowl was still covered with urine stains from the previous guest, which was unacceptable. This suggests a lack of proper supervision and monitoring of staff performance. During my stay, staff members appeared to be distracted by their mobile phones rather than paying attention to their duties. Each time I went to the restaurant for breakfast, no staff noticed my presence. I had to go into the kitchen to inform them that I needed breakfast service.

Мне понравилось всё: расположение рядом с площадью, при этом не шумно; горячая вода в душе; есть тапочки, полотенце, мыло, шампунь; номер просторный, чистый; есть электрический чайник. Отдельно хочу отметить электрическое одеяло с подогревом - идеально в декабрьские ночи. Персонал классный, отзывчивый. Хороший вид с крыши ресторана.

Le personnel et les propriétaires de L’établissement sont extrêmement sympathiques et professionnels. Nous avons apprécié la chambre spacieuse et le roof top. La couverture chauffantes, indispensable à cette période. Le fils du propriétaire a conseillé et organisé parfaitement le trajet bahktapur/chitwan. L'emplacement est top.

Ubytování bylo čisté a blízko centra. Byla jsem ráda za topení při chladnějších nocí. Perfektní terasa a úžasná jídla za velmi slušnou cenu. Personál byl usměvavý se vším pomohl. Cítila jsem se tu jako doma. Určitě se sem vrátím🙏☀️🥰

Traditionelles Gebäude mit gemütlichem Zimmer. Personal sehr freundlich und fröhlich. Gepflegte Dachterrasse mit Schattenplätzen läd zum Verweilen ein. Frühstück ansprechend kann individuell angepasst werden. Wasser zum Duschen kam innerhalb von kurzer Zeit sehr heiß.

Bei der Sauberkeit in den Bädern ist immer Luft nach oben. Man könnte mal über die Armaturen und den Spiegel putzen ;-)

朝食は8〜10時、屋上で素敵な街並みとヒマラヤ山脈を見ながら贅沢な時間を過ごせます。 立地は良く、スタッフの方々はとても素敵です！

トイレの臭いが少し気になりました。 有料エリア内にあるので、先に外国からの旅行者は2,000ルピー払わないといけないです。（ホテルの予約が完了したら事前にメッセージで教えてくれました。）

進入房間可以很明顯感覺到塵蟎很多，晚上要洗澡沒熱水到櫃台反應只得到打開後等待，但還是沒熱水，再次反應，仍然得到一樣的回應，顯然他沒有想要幫我們解決問題。

The family room was spacious, with wooden floors, and I liked many features of this old traditional-style guesthouse like the old photos of Bhaktapur hanging on the walls. The comforter on the queen bed was heavy and warm.

The windows are not very soundproof so you can hear the neighbors and the motorbikes honking their horns on the street all night. The wooden floors were dirty, the fan very loud, and the bathroom was very basic and not well-adorned.

Emplacement idéal. Confort vraiment soigné et très agréable apres une période de vadrouille en tea houses. Personnel accueillant et attentif . Ils ont fait en sort de nous donner 2 chambres accolées pour que les enfants ne soient pas trop loin.

Peut être le bruit de la rue mais c est tres relatif quand on connaît d autres villes ou quartiers .
