The place was filthy nothing like the pictures above i didnt even stay i walked straight back out no one at reception you have got to the bar where they give you a key that does the main door to hotel and your room id imagine a great safety concern if one key does all . Carpets wer black with the dirt and the whole place smelled of damp and mold stay clear

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026The hotel has the potential to be a lot better than it is with some attention to detail. The staff were friendly.
Our room was right next to the petrol station so was noisy and you couldn't always open the windows due to fumes (I think they were refueling). The room was boiling and airless. The shower is an over the bath affair that only just does the job. The whole place feels generally grubby. My husband wanted to use the toilet brush for the obvious reason, and he said, 'I'm not touching that thing' (it was broken and filthy), and obviously the cleaning staff felt the same way as the toilet wasn't cleaned, nor was the brush replaced with an unbroken one. We only had one breakfast at the hotel. The porridge was tasteless and the cooked breakfast tasted of whatever else had been fried in the same pan. The areas on doors above the 'push' sign had a thick layer of grey/black grime on them, yet we witnessed staff cleaning the adjoining window glass.

I booked a twin room for friends who were helping me at a rally and I found out for them they were only given a double room . Two men one having arthritis where twin room was more suitable . When I rang and asked why they were given a room with one bed staff claimed it was booked for one person where my booking clearly stated 2 adults . By the time staff sorted it and offered a chance one of the guys was resting n they didn’t want to cause hastle but neither got a good nights sleep . If a twin room is booked that is what should be given out and not changed before contacting the person who booked room.

The mattress was just too soft for me - I prefer a firmer one - that is not a criticism but simply personal preference.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026I liked the shop beside the hotel and the food that we order within Cohannon inn.
The ear bug in the bed, the no air condition and it being that hot my baby couldn't sleep, no fridge to keep my babies milk cold, no lift I have to carry a pram and car seat up 2 flights of stairs and staff didn't help me after I asked was there a lift, she seen what I had to carry up and left me to it.

Reviewed Jan 13, 2026Good value motel, very welcoming and helpful staff. The large room was clean and comfortable. Ideal for a night's stay if travelling. Wi-fi was efficient. The breakfast (an additional £9.95) was generous and included cooked breakfast and hot drink. Light lunch was also good. The hotel is a little dated, especially in the public rooms.
The dinner was quality was variable, which was disappointing compared to other meals.

Room was baltic on arrival. Not hearing on. Storage heaters in room, took several hours to heat room and then room became stuffy. Mold in corners/on grout in bathroom. Very expensive for standard of accommodation.

The hand soap dispenser didn't work. There were not enough sockets in the room. One for tv n only one spare which wasn't enough for charging fones for 2 people however that wouldn't put me off straying there again
