One female staff was a bit rude when I ask for money exchange. She could tell politely that they don’t do it but it seems like she’s impatient about my question. She asked me to buy something for exchanging which is normal. But I just wish an appropriate attitude.

Im Zimmer gab es kein Waschbecken.

５階なのですが、ドミトリーの方々の多くは共用洗面台がある側のトイレとシャワーを使っていた印象でした。中々難しい事情とは思いますが、何処かにもう一つトイレがあれば更に良いと思いました！

Reviewed Aug 27, 2026とてもシンプルなお洒落なおやどなのに、どこか懐かしい感じがする不思議な雰囲気でした。 動線がうまくできていて、たくさんの方が滞在しているのに、とても落ち着けます。 一階のカフェのお料理もとても美味しかったです。
朝カフェで簡単なモーニングがあったら、すごく嬉しい。

Room literally is in bathroom where everyone go . The entrance is inside bathroom too . 🙈 You can hear people cleaning their nose washing face .. I think I just had a bad luck and other rooms are nicer . No pillow case was shocking too .

Aucune insonorisation. Nous avons été très dérangés par nos voisins de droite, réveillés à 7h45 du matin par la voix très élevée de notre voisin et les bruits dans le couloir. Pas de tv.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026部屋のインテリアがとても好みで、落ち着いた雰囲気の中、居心地よく過ごすことができました。 施設内のダイニングで食事をしましたが、雰囲気も良く、ここでゆっくり食事とお酒を楽しみたいと思える素敵な空間でした。 また、忘れ物について問い合わせをした際も、結果的には別の場所で見つかったのですが、最後まで丁寧に対応してくださり、きちんとご連絡までいただけたことが嬉しかったです。 また泊まりたいと思えるゲストハウスでした。
利用方法や設備の使い方は口頭での案内だったので、部屋にも簡単な案内があると、後から確認できて便利だと思いました。

とにかくすごい匂い。タイ？っぽいキツイ香りで食事するのも気分が悪かった。一応押し入れの中を確認すると誰かのTシャツがあった…枕がおじさんの匂いがした。 3人の女性スタッフにお会いしたが2人は新人？1人は感じが悪かった。自分も接客業なので気をつけようと思いました。

Reviewed Jul 11, 2026Such cosy decor and everything you needed in/out of the room. Biggest room we have had in Japan and one of the most affordable! If arriving early, interesting luggage storage where you secure it with a bike lock yourself. Great location walkable from train station and close to bus stops, but more in local neighbourhoods away from main strip. They give you a hand drawn map of local foods and spots, this was so detailed we couldn't get through it. Staff gave us a personal recommendation for her favourite yakitori place and it turned out to be one of our best meals there :)

You have to make your own bed, you’re not allowed to take a shower after 11pm and I didn’t realize till it was too late but I was not provided with a towel. (The place is not staffed late at night or early morning).

Value for money lodging. There are many good food places to try within walking distance and Wakayama Castle is not far either.
The location is not near the JR and the Nankai train stations.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026Great hostel with a very nice common and bardining area. A lot of locals also visit. I was surprised by a potluck breakfast which I could join which was a lot of fun. It's a very good hostel to connect with people. There's a great sento around the corner.
The industrial/bare floor is clean but a bit rough. Would prefer a nicer floor.

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026Amazing guesthouse! Staff were so friendly, the room was really spacious and spotlessly clean, and the bar downstairs was such a nice vibe to hang out in for the evening. The homemade umeshu was particularly delicious. Location was great too, as were the communal facilities. We even had a free tea tasting with a green tea master who was a friend of the owner! Make sure you stay here if you’re coming to Wakayama.

The light was super bright in the morning and the curtains didn’t block any light out so we woke early. An extra futon layer would have made sleeping more comfortable as they were a little thin.

Reviewed May 23, 2026Wir haben eine Nacht im Guesthouse verbracht und waren mit dem geräumigen Zimmer inkl. Waschmaschine sehr zufrieden. Der Check-in war problemlos, die Lage super.
Manches ist schon etwas abgewohnt und die Toilette roch nicht so gut, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt aber und wir können die Unterkunft guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen. Es wäre fantastisch, wenn es Waschmittel für die Waschmaschine gäbe.

Didn't realize until later that they have another branch that's a more dedicated bike hostel, but this place was more than great for a one night stop for us on our bike trip! Appreciated having a room with a private shower and bathroom for our group, and them giving us a whole private room (8 bunk beds) even though we were only 5 people. Really appreciated their guide for good spots around the hostel and in wakayama!
Mattresses were a bit thin.

Ho provato la loro cucina ed era squisita! Davvero una bella atmosfera. La camera delle donne è molto bella e ben arredata con tatami e letti comodi. Bagni grandi e abbastanza puliti. C'è un discount vicino ben fornito e con ottimi prezzi.
La stanza mista è un po' più grezza, la mia tendina era troppo piccola e non c'erano tende alle finestre. La strada in cui si trova la struttura è un po' così, con locali per adulti, ma personalmente non ho avuto il minimo problema né mi sono sentita a disagio e sono una donna che viaggia da sola...

The rooftop was great hanging out up there at night. It was soo sick I'd recommend this place to everyone. The other people I met were so nice they were all like minded so dinner was cool.

La parte più bella è sicuramente il piano terra con l'ampia sala in cui si può stare fino a sera, con possibilità di fare colazione e di cenare per prezzi corretti. I piatti sono molto buoni! Le camere sono molto grandi e abbastanza silenziose, i letti comodi. C'è un grande bagno in comune oltre a doccia e bagno in ogni stanza. La cucina è dotata di tutto il necessario. Livello di pulizia buono. Staff molto gentile e che parla abbastanza inglese. Ho potuto lasciare all'interno la mia bicicletta. A pochi minuti a piedi c'è un ottimo discount.
Le tendine non sono per niente oscuranti e nella camera mista non ci sono tende alle finestre.

Reviewed Apr 15, 2026One of the best hostels I stay in Japan. And I stayed in quite a bit of them! Female dorm room set up is so Japanese with tatami floor and only 2 bunk beds which makes it homey and spacious. Shower & bathroom also inside the dorm. Btw I tried their homemade Ume wine mixed with soda water. The use is from Wakayama area so it's very locally produced. Downstairs area is also a quiet bar with light jazz music. The whole ambiance is relaxing. The guesthouse is on 5th floor (haas elevator) so it's very quiet. good! Last but not least, all the staff are super friendly and accommodating. 5 🌟 stay overall! 😀

Reviewed Apr 8, 2026非常开～放友善的环境，店员们都很年轻很有礼貌也很热情，没有任何让人不舒服的地方。公共区域非常温馨非常漂亮！还可以自己做手冲咖啡喝！有很多不同国家的人，可以看出是一个平等友好的地方。除了离和歌山站稍微有点点距离，整体的住宿体验都很良好～推荐来旅游的朋友们居住
