Having a view of the sea and being so close to it from our room
Beautiful ocean view nice and quiet property very private
The ocean view was great. The beach access was the best part. The entry door was stuck a few time and had to get a staff member to open it.
I love the location and cleanliness of this hotel. Some of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. However, if you are looking for a hotel that is guest-friendly and provides reasonable accompandations for its guests, this hotel is not the one. I’ve gone there numerous times, mainly because of its location. However, I always get the impression that I need them more than they need me.🤔 Next time I need to visit Bequia, despite the location, I have decided to patronize another hotel.
It was perfect for our trip, quite, beautiful beach and contact with nature.
That’s my first choice to stay when I return! Love it!
I thought the restaurant staff were professional and friendly. I would like to see a little more variety on the menu. The beach chairs need to be replaced. Loved everything else!
I had a wonderful stay.
Hidden gem of a hotel with private cottages that were spotlessly clean with great AC and nice kitchen. Views from the beach and restaurant were spectacular. Sunsets were some of the best we’ve ever seen! The gym was by far the best of any hotel on the islands and the food/drinks were really good. Couldn’t ask for more.
Highly recommended, great place.
It has great views and beach access. The landscape is also picturesque. The level of customer service and care was not consistent with each staff. We love staying here each summer but this time it felt like they could pay more attention to details especially speaking more confidently and courteously. Our booking through this Expedia platform could not be found. We were then offered a different suite with similar set up but had no internet/wifi access for our entire stay when in our room. This made it impossible to use any of our mobile devices. We did mention this and was asked to move to another suite after we were settled in. This felt like we would have to sacrifice more of our time for this trip. It seems that they knew the problem existed before offering the suite based on previous guests also. complaining. Also, there were 3 of us for breakfast yet there is a rule about ordering. fruit baskets for breakfast - limit of 2. A bit disappointing for us because we like the complimentary breakfast. It's a part of why we choose here over other hotels. We do overall love this hotel. There is a lot of friendly and helpful staff. This trip felt a bit low on customer care for us.
Girls on reception were wonderful, frendly, helpful. Anything you need : taxi service, dining reservations, tours recommendations and reservations thay will hook you up. We stayed 8 day's in Bequia and we enjoyed every single day of it . Beautifully island ,lovely people
.
This hotel is situated in a natural, picturesque and beautiful location. Close to the main town of Port Elizabeth, close to the best beaches on the island. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds contain several fruit trees and green spaces. It is also quite close to the beach front so you can hear the waves from your room. Internet available throughout the compound. The rooms are semi-modern with standard basic amenities. The cable television service is not reliable. The menu options at breakfast are limited (unsure if this is only in the off season). Overall, this hotel is definitely recommended.
Just on the beach, amazing spot, free rental of snorkel and kayak. Beautiful place!
The staff were friendly, and the food was excellent. I love that the hotel was located near other restaurants, offering a variety despite having its own outstanding dining options. The breakfast selection exceeded my expectations, showcasing a wide range of choices. I cherished walking along the beach in front of the hotel, taking in the breathtaking sunsets. I am thrilled I chose to stay at this hotel and would do it all over again. It’s a five-star experience for me. Well done, Bequia Plantation; I am truly impressed.
Old property in a very nice location, mature mango trees, in front of the beach, easy access to the Margaret walkway. But the best is the kindness and excellent service from all the people working here, thanks I really enjoyed my first time at this hotel!
Safe,clean.. just
Front desk staff was friendly and inviting. Property is very clean. We received a lot of empty promises. The room was not as pictured, but clean. Lots of basic amenities missing from our 2 bedroom- like paper towels and a cable box! The first night we had dinner one of our guests got sick. Our entire trip was ruined after that. There is no beach service and everyone workinf there is extremely young and training. Horrible service. We were told we owed multiple hundreds of dollars when it was paid in full. Then was told "sorry she's in training. " What if we didn't know and paid? We won't return. Be careful
Fantastic stay - lovely site, room and facilities. Staff were all helpful and really engaging. If I was to be critical, the pool did not look too clean on occasions and breakfast, whilst a bit samey, was very nice and freshly cooked. Loved our time there.
My experience at this property was absolutely perfect. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—going above and beyond by allowing me to take a quick shower after check-out before catching the ferry back to St. Vincent. The location is beautiful; you can even enjoy the sunset right from the lobby area! Breakfast was included with my stay and made to order each morning, accompanied by a lovely basket of fresh local fruits like mango, five finger, and soursop. A truly memorable and relaxing stay
The staff and overall experience was amazing.
Excellent location, walkable from the port, very quiet and tranquil.
Getting to the hotel was easy; the hotel arranged for a taxi from the ferry. A quick 5 minutes later we were checking in and greeted with rum punches while we waited for our room. We stayed in the main house; our room had a large terrace and the most amazing view of the bay. Breakfast was included and was delicious. The restaurant is really good; didn't have a bad meal; the pizza was amazing. The rum punch is top notch and if you're lucky you'll get to try the mango rum punch. The staff are friendly and professional. The property is a short scenic walk along the belmont walkway and conveniently located. There is a spa, a pool, beach with beautiful clear water and a relaxed vibe. We will stay here again when we come back to Bequia.
The property is beautiful. The villas are huge, beds were very comfortable. The staff were pleasant. I think the food needed some work and I find that the pool can use some daily cleaning however the beach is right there so who needs the pool. Overall I had a great experience. Will return again.
We had a fantastic week at Plantation hotel from check in to check out the staff were amazing. The hotel is beachfront loungers and towels are complimentary. We especially loved the location just a stroll along the Belmont walkway to restaurants, bars, and shops.Take the opposite direction from the beach at Plantation hotel along to Princess Margaret and Lower bay Beach's accessible via a trail over the headland that leads directly onto Princess Margaret beach stop for a cocktail or keep going to the other end of the beach and the trail leads to the road down to Lower bay. The views are amazing and if you're lucky you might find that one of the friendly local pups will lead the way.
Loved the plantation hotel, beach and location perfect
This was our second year staying at Plantation and as before we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We stayed in cottage 12, and found it to be extremely comfortable with a HUGE supersize bed, a well appointed bathroom with double sinks, a welcome and separate dressing and kitchenette area rounded off with a lovely verandah from where we enjoyed our mornings watching the sea lap the shore whilst drinking a cup of coffee. The pool is beautiful and the beach one of the best on the island with a calm turquoise sea and easy to walk in sand (for those who worry about such things or with mobility issues etc) - compared to Friendship Bay where there is a more turbulent shoreline with frequent sargassum this side lends itself to easier swimming and enjoyment (in my opinion). Whilst beach towels are provided they are quite worn and some of them I would not choose to use. I think the hotel should invest in their own signature towels and ensure they are kept in good order with no stains/bleach marks etc and in turn would assist in identifying who are resident guests on the beach. I must give a specific shout out to Tia and Kim from the restaurant who always engaged with us, and truly delivered a professional, efficient and friendly service, thank you. The staff, on the whole, are extremely pleasant with warm smiles and are very friendly. However, there were some issues in the restaurant where some of the staff seemed uninterested in being there, were at times inattentive and lacked any warmth which at times made you feel a little unwelcome. There was a regular list also of what was not available from the menu which could be frustrating. At breakfast we felt we had to keep asking for top ups of coffee and tea and a lack of attention to providing milk. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit!
We LOVED our stay here! We have 2 adult children so the 2 bedroom was perfect for us. Beautiful rooms! Amazing service! Excellent full menu breakfast! Being able to walk to Princess Margaret beach and downtown within 10 minutes was so convenient! Everyone was so friendly and helpful! We went during a slow time mid May and one day had lower Bay beach to ourselves! swimming in the beach behind the hotel was amazing! snorkels, noodles life jackets, towels all available
Staff was very kind. The property is beautiful and close to all restaurants. The boardwalk will get you any where along the Port Elizabeth beach / harbor. The rooms are really great and clean.
Excellent location, excellent staff, clean and modern room. This will be the only resort my partner and I stay in while in Bequia now. The staff was very polite and helpful. Our room was clean, modern and had a beautiful view. Rum punches were excellent lol.
Very old English looking hotel with spacious well equipped garden cottages. Helpful professional staff who cannot do enough to help you enjoy your stay. Cleanliness was top of the list and being just on the beach was amazing. Easy to moor the yacht if I had one but good to see many yachts moored up. Gorgeous place, don’t delay a trip to the paradise island of St Vincent and the Grenadines, you’ll never want to leave ❤️
I had an amazing stay at the Bequia Plantation Hotel, From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and professional. The check-in process was smooth, and I was even offered a welcome drink. My room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable
amazing stay
Very pleasant staff and rooms are massive and clean.
Had a lovely stay at the Plantation. Our room was right on the beach and had great views across the bay. The room itself was a good size and the staff were very friendly.
The rooms were nice. The front desk welcomed me warmly. Everywhere else, however, the service staff were not particularly friendly or service minded. The restaurant - never felt welcomed particularly. The towel/snorkel shack was always hit and miss if it was staffed. The small beach in front of the hotel is ok, but fortunately a 10 min walk to Prince Margaret beach is must better. All in all, did not feel I got value for the amount I was paying.
Spacious, serene, beautiful grounds, beautiful beaches nearby
We went to this hotel after an 8-night stay on the main island of St. Vincent. The Bequai Plantation Hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful and went beyond expectations during our 6-night stay. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant as it was fresh, tastey, and well prepared. The grounds are nicely trimmed and pruned and generally peaceful and quiet. The beach was really clean (no visible garbage). The only complaints are that the prearranged hotel shuttle was 40 minutes late arriving at the ferry terminal to take us to the hotel, and the refrigerator in the room was not working. As well, stray dogs were allowed on the restaurant premises and would often sit under our dining table near my feet, scratching themselves (fleas? ticks?). I would prefer if the dogs were kept away. Aside from that, overall, I recommend this hotel for a quaint, simple and relaxing vacation stay.
This has the potential to be a fabulous hotel - but the attention to detail was lacking when we were there (and we hope the newly appointed manager can resolve these issues) We selected this hotel because it’s on the more sheltered side of the island and because of its walkable proximity to other restaurants etc First impressions were very promising - rum punch on arrival and a very professional check in We’d been allocated a bungalow which appeared bright and stylish (although irritatingly only 1 key was issued per room) The plug sockets are 3 pin UK style The bed was large and very comfortable - but the linen was unimpressive and appeared unpressed in the first half of the week Bedside tables were stylish but impractical with large lamps and nowhere to put anything There was a separate dressing room with 2 large drawers a wardrobe and a large mirror plus a number of open shelves between the bedroom and kitchenette A small desk by the entrance door had room for a laptop but not much else - and there was 1 (why only 1?) low chair in the corner with a low 2 drawer cabinet next to it The a/c seemed efficient plus there was a fan The kitchenette had a fridge (no minibar) kettle and microwave/grill with a set of knives and forks and plates - with instant coffee and tea - but no cloth or tea towel The bathroom was well lit with a small window, very large “open plan” shower (overhead and hand held) The sink was rather small with very little space around it and there were only a few very narrow shelves to accommodate toilet bags etc Generous sized Beckman products were supplied- but no cotton wool products or make up mirror Bathrobes appeared mid way during our stay A good quality hairdryer was supplied with an American fitting) but no adapter plug to be able to use it ! The towels were small and very lightweight A laminated card said stained towels would be charged for - but that a make up remover kit was provided (which it wasn’t) The water pressure was great! On the ocean facing verandah were 2 heavy wooden chairs, one at either end (and too heavy to move together) plus a very small table and chairs to the side for dining It was a short walk to the open air restaurant but no umbrella was provided Restaurant Not a great environment - particularly in high winds as it is very exposed to the elements. The furniture was uninspiring - not helped by the very noisy tables and chairs dragged around by the staff! Breakfast was a very poor experience with extremely limited choice. There was no buffet bakery (as advertised) very little fruit - and we noticed guests were providing their own yoghurts and muesli. Eggs were to order but served without any style or garnish The coffee was particularly awful and tasted burned The Breakfast menu was stained with coffee but was never reprinted Lunch We didn’t eat lunch - but plenty of others did as they were bussed in from elsewhere - which meant they also used the limited beach area Dinner The food was better but the atmosphere wasn’t great. The tables are in a wind tunnel and there’s no attempt to enhance the appearance of the breakfast tables for dinner (other than a light) Very limited choice of menu which never changed - although the food we had was tasty There were always dogs around the dining area, some of which scratched themselves constantly which was both irritating and unhygienic. No attempt was made to move them, even when they barked or fought each other Bar We noticed the drinks we had were very weak ! - and the Barman had wanted to serve them in plastic glasses (for the terrace - not the beach) And the loo by the bar had run out of loo paper The Beach Small and to one side of the restaurant. Sunbeds were provided but there was very little shade - and there was a constant pervading smell of woodsmoke from the pizza oven alongside Towels always seemed to be in short supply (on Day 1 we were told there were none) - and when they arrived they were very small and only covered half the bed There’s a small crescent shaped Swimming pool at the back of the restaurant - but it didn’t ever appear to be cleaned and appeared “messy” The grounds These are one of the highlights of the hotel and are nicely kept - but at a cost to the guests as each day of our stay there was constant extremely noisy strimming The staff Other than the reception staff it’s disappointing to report we were left very underwhelmed by the staff. We were given the impression the guests were rather an inconvenience to be tolerated. There were very few smiles - and the staff frequently shouted out for each other across distances (including using inappropriate language). Laundry problems We identified problems particularly in the first part of our stay. Lack of towels in both the room and on the beach, no bathrobes and unpressed linen were all evidence of this and appeared to be signs of a poorly run hotel. It’s a pity as these issues all had an impact on our holiday - and a good management team could easily sort it out. We’d like to feel able to return if we could be reassured these issues had been corrected
Lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms. Enjoyable stay !
We had such a fabulous time at the Bequia Plantation Hotel. The island itself is magical, and the Plantation Hotel just adds to the charm. The staff—especially Kemera, Zavio, Breea, Sheronique, Janell, Jineje, Lemore, Ariann, Michael, Amalie (sorry if I have missed anyone out) were incredibly friendly and always happy to help. Everyone seemed to know my name, though that might be because I spent so much time at the bar! I was made to feel like one of the gang, which really added to the experience. The hotel is in a fantastic spot—surely one of the best locations on the island. There’s a lovely sandy beach right in front, crystal-clear water, and even a small reef just offshore where we spotted loads of colourful fish, huge starfish, spiny lobsters, and a curious moray eel! We stayed in a beachfront room, so we could step straight into the sea to clear our heads after evenings of rum punches and delicious meals out. There was a bit of last-minute drama when our return flight (St Vincent to Barbados) was cancelled the day before we were due to leave, but the reception team couldn’t have been more helpful. They arranged everything for us and got us onto a Grenadine Air flight from the sweet little airport just 20 minutes away. What could have been a nightmare turned into a mini adventure—huge thanks to Zemora, and Gemma for making that happen. Hats off to Chris and all of the management team. We’ve already booked our stay for next year—we couldn’t resist. I can’t help but wonder if the team at the bar will have a Hairoun waiting for me and a cheerful shout of “Michael!” when we arrive. Until next year! Michael and Anna.
Very welcoming. Quiet & relaxing. Great food. Comfortable accommodation. Beautiful beach and sea.
The resort was nice, but fell short in a few amenities. The bed/mattress was super comfortable. The location was very good with a nice beachfront and access to a walking path to town, restaurants, and other beaches. Snorkeling off the beach was good, and it was nice to kayak. The beach attendant was nice enough to accompany me out on the small sailboat they had, which was a good idea, as the wind picked up and it was nice to have both of us on board to steer in the higher winds. Some amenities were missing, like a bar of soap or pump soap for the bathroom sink. The shampoos, conditioners, and shower gel while all with the same brand labels, had varying fill amounts and colors. They appeared to be evaporated or refilled. The restaurant was disappointing from slow service, incorrect orders, to lack of basic items. At one meal, 3 sets of salt shakers dispensed No Salt, yet rice kernels came out. The wait staff did not check in to see if things were working. The inconsistent service was consistent at lunch and breakfasts. The food was average to disappointing. Thankfully there are better restaurants within a 5 minute walk. My massage was good, but the spa wasn't very elegant. It lacked the ambience of most spas: no aromatherapy, no water or tea after the massage, and an incredibly hard massage table. The massage therapist was good though. The front desk was good at arranging pickup from and transport to the ferry.
This was the 2nd time we stayed at Plantation hotel, last year was the 1st so my review is based on comparing 1st to 2nd. Hotel was very accommodating to our personal needs but seems some things have noticeably changed. The breakfast buffet was way scaled down from last year with very limited options but still ok if you're not a big breakfast person. The island itself seems to be a little more crowded with day trippers maybe coming from st Vincent's new Sandals resort , also from cruise ships. The hotel sits on a small narrow beach which has its own beach chairs and coverings. Seems like staff didnt patrol the area as much this time when non-hotel guests came by and helped themselves. Not a huge deal if hotel guests weren't trying to use the beach amenities they paid for but otherwise its annoying and intrusive when 20-30 people come at once to a very small beach area. I guess they dont want to put off potential customers to the restaurant which sits right on the beach. Overall we had a very nice stay. Clean , friendly staff, accommodating. Other than all the foot traffic we had no complaints . I still think its the nicest hotel on the island
Beautiful waterfront propeety!

The service at Bequia plantation is superb. From the moment we arrived on the island to the time we stepped back on the ferry to leave they took care of us. The location on Bequia is unbeatable, right off the Princess Margaret trail. We loved being able to walk to so many destinations. The water and snorkeling out front were fantastic. It is a seven minute taxi to Friendship Bay, which we enjoyed, but we preferred staying on the Bequia plantation side of the island. Our bungalow was so nice and was perfect for us traveling with our son as he had his own room. Having a kitchen was very helpful. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was good. We loved having a front porch to sit on and see all of the beautiful flowers. We were with another family and all the kids enjoyed the pool (so did the adults). And the resort is small enough we could let the kids run to the room to grab things without worrying. The breakfast that was included I looked forward to daily. So many options. The hotel can arrange for water taxis that I would recommend. Aaron’s Pizza Hut in town (because the kids needed cheese pizza) was probably the best and cheapest in town. The adults enjoyed eating at Fig Tree, Mac’s, and Jack’s and Coconut’s on Princess Margaret beach (it is a shack but oh my goodness the food!) and of course we had beer and rum punch at Ms. Fay’s. We will be back!
Beautiful scenery. Very peaceful. Lovely staff nice breakfast. Clean rooms. A great place to explore the island. A lovely footpath and walk across the beach to lower bay 👌
BPH is in a perfect location for walking to beaches, restaurants and general life in Port Elizabeth, the main town in Bequia. The rooms are comfortable but not luxurious, with our room had no bedside table lights which was a bit strange. Most of the rooms are separate cottage style, though we were in a block of 4 rooms, simply decorated, quite cheap fittings and furnishings, with A/C, b&b basis, with restaurant that serves 3 meals a day. The grounds are very nice but the buildings and rooms could use a coat of paint and a bit more attention to detail. We had a small kitchen with our room with microwave and small fridge. The staff were quite helpful and nice. The snorkelling was quite good right at the hotel beach and equipment was free to borrow. I think it was a good place to stay in order to get to know Bequia, great location but service could use a bit more management tweaking.
We couldn't check in early, so we had to wait, which is understandable. However, when we asked if we could check out later than 11 am time, they said no. Even though the hotel information sheet in the room stated that you could stay beyond the checkout time for an additional fee (which we were willing to pay). So we hung out and went to the hotel restaurant for lunch, only to be turned away because they were expecting a lot of people from a cruise ship! We got takeout and ate on the porch by reception. We walked back to the restaurant after lunch and found plenty of open seating! Needless to say, we left very unhappy.
Easier to get to than other properties...they have their own dock and also closer to ferry and mainland St Vincent. Pretty little beach with lots of moored sailboats in background. Great little spa...just enough. Lola, in particular, is fantastic (nails). Great massage too. Rest of staff extremely aloof and condescending. (eye-rolls very common). I think it might have to do with all the day traffic from cruises and boaters etc. When there were issues with room (many) they were very, very quick to respond as best they could. I would have preferred fewer issues in the first place. (Holes in door let in bugs, some beddng/accessories very stained/gross, poor toilet function, no hot water in shower, published "room service" not available during "special buffet nights"...you can then only get pizza. Previous guest things and obvious presence upon my arrival. Band on Tuesday and Friday loud but...if you like that...great. my room was okay in location but on "main thourofare" so people coming by all the time, loud music from restaurant/bar and laundry carts rumbling past. (I had requested a "quiet room"). Happens to me quite a bit as a solo traveller unfortunately. The one small sailboat only available if the "right person" was on staff that day (hasn't happened for me yet). Food choices not great. Housekeeping knocked on door starting at 8 am. No bottled water until second day. Not really any recommendations for day trips, like sailing,...referred to internet. Pool and grounds fine. Hopefully I will only have positive things to add from here on. 🤞 Visited sister-resort today. Completely different vibe...especially friendliness of staff and I was only there for 2 hours. So much potential with such obviously cynical and burned-out staff here. What a shame. Thanks for the amazing spa experience ladies! 🐰🐷
Amazing place....would highly recommend
The hotel would definitely be a 5 star experience if we hadn’t had rude/subpar service from bartender Bria on every occasion we saw her.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel and absolutely loved it. We had room # 12, which I highly recommend for a couple. It's an end room, with a huge walk in closet, comfortable bed and lovely patio outside the door with a wonderful view of the sea. The staff was excellentd and the breakfasts were outstanding. The pool was very clean and it was a quiet spot to read and relax. Swimming at their beach was perfect too and the hotel's location was so convenient to the walkway to town and Princess Margaret Beach. We had a fabulous time!
A beautiful, relaxed Bequia hotel in a wonderful location right by its own small beach and easy walking to Princess Margaret’s. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff are laid back and very friendly. . Grounds are beautifully maintained although we missed the moody coloured lights among the trees in the evening! Only real criticism is the sun beds on the beach which are really uncomfortable with metal bars that hit you in two places in the back. Maybe replace with something more user friendly? And the music in the evenings is nice - except for the “music festival” which involved amplification at a level that was only bearable with noise cancelling headphones! Please cancel that!
Really nice property. Hotel was great - restaurant/bar just “ok”. Details: Check-in was fast/perfect. Grounds - impeccable. Room - recently upgraded. Really nice. Quiet. Great A/C. Housekeeping - perfect. Beach - Super clean beaches. Restaurant - Excellent service. Food was good but not great. Small portions of “average“ food. Much better dining options just steps away. Bar - Generally the bar drinks/service were good. Shout out to Bria. So with all respect, Bria is a terrible bartender. When she was the bartender we would simply leave the property and go anywhere else. I won’t bore you with the details or embarrass her but trust me on this one you’ll want to avoid the bar when she’s working. Overall - with the exception of the bar this is an awesome property -
The location is absolutely perfect, just a short work to Princess Margaret Beach and restaurants along Admiralty Bay. The cottages were clean and well kept and the staff were very nice. You won't be disappointed with this one.
Bequia Plantation hotel is an oasis in port Elizabeth. The beaches and turquoise waters are amazing. Great swimming and snorkeling. Amazing restaurant choices along the sea wall On-site fantastic daily breakfast and service was very good. Recommend to those wanting to get off the beaten path and experience Bequia - a jewel in the eastern Caribbean.
I only have two words: absolute paradise. Would visit again and again and again.
Bequia Plantation Hotel when searched on Google claims to be a 5 star hotel. This hotel certainly does not operate one. I booked the orchard suite which claims a beach view but it should state partial beach view since the view is blocked by 2 trees. The restaurant is right next to the beach/chairs area. They have a wood burning oven going so the entire time you are smelling the smoke coming from the chimney. At first, I thought they were burning garbage but then I realized the smoke was coming from the kitchen. It's so bad the wind does not help. What's actually worst here in this hotel is the service. I constantly had to flag a server at their restaurant. We literally had to get our own coffee because they never came around to ask if we needed anything. The first day my husband had to go to the bar to get his own drinks because again noone came around. They attach a 10% service charge automatically to your bill so I'm assuming that's why the service is poor since they know either way if they are providing a good or bad service they are getting their tip. When I went to restaurant to order lunch I was told by the server inside to order with the beach server. Since she never came around I had to look for her. When I asked her if i can place an order with her she responded I could either with her or go to the restaurant. But why would I order at the restaurant if I'm at the beach?! I then ordered a drink for myself and my daughter. The server comes back and said she forgot to tell the bartender it's for a child so it has alcohol. Good thing I asked if it was complimentary because it was not. So instead of giving me the drink for free, they tossed it because I didn't want to pay for a drink they made a mistake on. On top of everything, the first day the key cards didn't work. Also, they had plumbing issues so we didn't have water to shower or flush the toilet. Everything is old here. The beach chairs are uncomfortable and falling apart. I spoke to the hotel's assistant manager to inquire if this hotel is an actual five star hotel because I just really couldn't believe it. I was told it was not that it's actually a 4.5 star. I told the asst manager that they are falsely advertising on Google that it is 5 star. If I have to rate this place it is 3 star meanwhile they charge like a 5 star hotel! I highly recommend not wasting your money here.
A lack of investment, poor quality and lower standards means that this once fine hotel is no longer the premium hotel it used to be. Whilst management have tried to be innovative, breakfast often times runs out of food leaving customers annoyed and exasperated. The hotel beach area with sun beds is dirty and tired looking. The towels are an odd collection of frayed and stained towels likely coming from towels thrown away by others. The sunbeds are old and uncomfortable. The rooms are tired and in need of a desperate upgrade. The staff are good and offer a good service however inconsistency in some of the services leads me to believe that there is little staff training. The location is still good but this alone cannot make up for the lack of investment and quality. All in all a disappointing stay and although I have returned year after year I am saddened to say that I will not be returning in the future as there are far better hotels available.
From the moment I got off the ferry from mainland, there was transportation waiting for us. We were greeted with drinks and our bags were already in our room. I loved breakfast and dinner and the rooms were large and a villa with a kitchenette. It’s on the beach and includes water activities. We walked everywhere to other beaches and restaurants throughout the day. Staff was amazing and accommodating and I will be back again!
The best located hotel in Bequia! It's a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal. Located on the beach of Belmont Walkway and walkable to the Princess Margaret beach. Close to many restaurants and bars. The staff is friendly and helpful. The villa we stayed in was so close to the beach that you can hear the ocean.
Would definitely recommend. Our mini getaway was made perfect by the friendly staff and beautiful hotel. We loved the complimentary breakfast and all our meals. We are dog lovers but did not enjoy dining with the ones that came to each meal. Overall a very inviting and welcoming beach hotel. We loved our stay and look forward to our next visit.
Front desk staff were wonderful. Upon arrival, there was only a limited piece of toilet paper on the roll. Morning, Called front desk to get some . Took 3 hours to get it from housekeeping. At the dinning room, Asked for a muffin and banana bread, was put in a bag. The cashier walked away without a word, had us waiting and return without a word or apology. Very awkward moment. Again, front desk staff, 2 young ladies were excellent. Great ambassadors.
This place is amazing overall. We stayed in unit 24 which the has private pool directly on the Belmont Beach and Princess Margaret trail. The Restaurant and bar and very good. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Overall amazing experience.
This is The Place to stay in Admiralty Bay. If you can afford it, it's worth the splurge
Should use other than plastic straws which are harmful to many sea animals.
The staff was courteous and the location was excellent. However, there was a need for improvement in terms of cleanliness, as we experienced stains on our sheets. However, the staff promptly rectified this issue after being notified.
We stayed at the Plantation Hotel in a beachfront villa which as great - spacious, comfortable, great beds and peaceful. The location is perfect - right on a small white stretch of beach on the Belmont Walkway and handy for Princess Margaret Beach around the corner - as well as close to the small town of Port Elizabeth. Staff were friendly and hard working. The hotel is a beautiful place. But, the restaurant was a problem for us. The food on the evening menu is well cooked and pleasant enough but it is a very limited menu and less imaginative than say The Fig Tree, Jack's Bar or Mac's Kitchen - all of which are nearby. The biggest issue with the restaurant though, is the wild beach dogs which are allowed to roam freely around the open restaurant which is by the beach. These dogs are flea ridden and dirty and are constantly under your table and/or begging for food. At breakfast one morning we counted 6 of these animals in the restaurant. They seem to be breeding around the hotel vegetable garden as we saw several very young puppies around that part of the hotel gardens over the course of 8 days. The staff make some attempts to get rid of the dogs but seem resigned to the fact that they are there. As did the owner when I spoke to her upon checking out. She seemed to consider this a fault of her staff - rather than a hotel management and operational matter. Frankly, we found these animals disgusting and only ever ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Other meals were taken at good (cheaper) places nearby Other restaurants and bars along the Belmont Walkway had no tolerance of these dogs and kept them out by various means. Staff at these places were very much aware of the number of dogs in the Plantation House restaurant We would need to be sure this problem with wild dogs has been successfully addressed before we would stay again. That is the only issue with this wonderful place to stay, hopefully it can be resolved.
Absolutely amazing! Whenever I’m on Bequia, I always book at room at Plantation. The room quality, service, food choices, close proximity to princess margaret beach/jack’s and the private beach are all the reasons why I choose this hotel every year.
As soon as we arrived, about 5 hours before check in, we were greeted with a cold towel and drink, which was nice. Immediately after we felt as if we inconvenienced the front desk staff by arriving early. There is a $10 fee per hour for early check in, which I accepted but still was not allowed to check in until 30 mins before check in time. The hotel room itself is nice and is well decorated. The food is average, besides the pizza which was pretty good. We were asked several times throughout our stay of our room number or if we were staying at the hotel by staff sometimes by the same staff who served us earlier. After a while it got pretty annoying. Not expecting staff to remember our room numbers but at least remember we’re staying here, the hotel isn’t that big. This also stands out because we went to another grenadine island a day after and the staff there were so kind and remembered our names after the first day. I will say the front desk staff came off apathetic at some points @ Bequia plantation. After a while we felt like we weren’t wanted. Breakfast is included.
Great service from check in to breakfast to dinner
The view from our room was excellent and the access from the property to town was extremely convenient.
We've had drinks before in this beautifully located hotel/restaurant, but last night was the first time we've eaten there. Having had a reasonable size lunch elsewhere, we shared a T-bone steak with peppercorn sauce, truffle mash, asparagus, and fries. It was perfectly cooked and an absolute delight to eat. We have already booked again. Reasonably priced as well. Sorry, I should have taken a photo of the meal, but was too busy enjoying it. I'll try next time
Lovely hotel - very friendly staff (most of them) - great rooms. Short walk along the sea edge to town or short walk in other direction to the beautiful Princess Margaret beach.
I throughly enjoyed the whole Bequai experience and really didn’t want to come home. Beautiful hotel, beautiful surroundings and lovely jolly staff.
What could be more memorable than celebrating a special birthday in this wonderful place? My husband told me over a year ago that he wanted to celebrate his 60th birthday on His favorite island of Bequia and that rather than renting a house that he wanted to stay in an oceanfront cottage at the Plantation. I planned well in advance to be sure he got his wish and the people at the resort were absolutely amazing- especially Ms. Zemore Grant, the front desk supervisor! At the last minute- the week before our trip- a hurricane was threatening to perhaps disrupt our plans if it went through the Florida panhandle (where we were departing from) or through the rest of Florida and cause problems for our flight to and overnight stay in Miami. I did not want to take a chance on that so we decided to move our trip up a day before the possible weather. I contacted Ms. Grant to see if we could add a night to the front end of our reservation but due to a wedding reception at the hotel we could not get the room we had reserved for that night. She told us they could accommodate us in a garden room and we could move the next day so we booked it. We arrived on the ferry from St. Vincent and our cab to the resort was behind a festively decorated truck carrying the bride, groom and some of the wedding party so we had a fun ride punctuated by many honking horns and happy waves and calls from passing vehicles. To our surprise, when we checked in Ms. Grant told us that we had been upgraded to the honeymoon suite (complete with private plunge pool) for the night. The bed was decorated with flowers and a "Birthday cake with candles" fashioned out of a bath towels and flower petal candles, a personalized 60th birthday card from the staff and a bottle of wine. What a fabulous group of people! Our week wen by too quickly- we loved our #9 cottage with a covered porch, plantation chairs, and a view of the beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained lawn, pool, and sea beyond- it was well furnished, comfortable and extremely quiet and private. The housekeepers did an excellent job of taking care of us as well. My husband loved the convenience of walking to Dive Bequia every day for his morning dive and I walked into Port Elizabeth several times for some shopping and sightseeing. The meals we had at the hotel were very good as was the service- we even had a very tasty pizza delivered to our room after a long day on the water with Gusto sailing to the Tobago Cays. A real standout was the Thanksgiving night buffet with Live music- it was a beautifully laid out spread featuring roast turkey, smoked ham, beef roast at carving stations and a seafood and grilled fish station as well- a nice selection of vegetables and sauces all started off with a harvest salad, pumpkin soup and 5 other appetizers on a buffet to choose from. My husband especially enjoyed the bacon wrapped grilled brussel sprouts. The music was soft and a nice accompaniment to this lovely and very well attended event. Kudos to all of the lovely, hardworking staff! The beach was a great place to swim and float every day with plenty of loungers and we also enjoyed the nice pool every afternoon- conveniently located next to the bar! We both really needed a very relaxing time to unwind from a stressful year without a lot of driving and exploring (we did feel like we had done a good bit of that on a previous trip) and the Plantation provided us with one of our best vacations ever!!! We WILL be back!
The beach view king suite was great, as were the grounds. The beach location is perfect. However I've given this just 3 stars after much thought:. 0.5 star docked for hygiene - the hotel appears to do nothing about the feral dogs that wander the property including the main restaurant, and often pester guests under the table and fight /bark loudly. There are many other restaurants within walking distance along the boardwalk and all these are effective at removing the dogs. The hotel mgmt appear not to care. 0.5 star docked for restaurant: breakfast is a 'hot' buffet or usual cold meats/fruit/cereal, but the 'hot' food is left in heated pans that only keep the food warm at best. 3 times a week they have a 'themed' all you can eat menu -again just warm buffet food and expensive. 1 star removed for the swimming pool steps - which I would rate as the most dangerous I've seen in years. There is no handrail (the average guest is 'mature' and would benefit from a rail); the steps are sharp edged and not defined by different tile pattern or colour; worst is that the steps are not consistent - if you stay left then its just a slope down (about 15cm wide), if you stay right the drop from the last step is about 80cm! There was absolutely no local hotel, trip or even spa info in the room. If paying by card check they enter the correct currency (not US$ and charge EC$ amount!) I had this happen twice. If you just want to relax, the hotel is in a great location
Wow where do I start we were meant to stay at the limes and without telling us we came to this amazing hotel where I feel I’ve made friends for life they were left with the limes mess and made our holiday magical the manager and his employees went above and beyond to make our stay possible big shout out to my girl Kim what a star Josh too and missing so many names you made our holiday so special
We were well taken care of from check in to check out. Zamora and her staff provided superior customer service and accommodated our every need. The restaurant staff weee pleasant and attentive and the Garden Villa was well maintained and clean and the cleaning staff were always pleasant. The pool was clean and bar server came around to see if we wanted drinks/food. The hotel location is perfect with access to restaurants, bars, town, shops and grocery stores just a short walk away. Well done to the entire team!!!
Pros: -Great location in Bequia -Good size room -Working A/C, hot water, wifi, tv channels, small fridge Cons: - Felt unsafe (housekeeper walked into room without even knocking) - Would not extend checkout to noon citing their policy (check in is 3pm) - Breakfast options could be increased - Staff friendliness and hospitality - average - Could use an iron and ironing board in the room
lovely hotel on the Belmont walkway.
Beautiful place on a beautiful island. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Most of the staff were really helpful. A few things- the facility is not handicap friendly. Also the facility could have pest control spray the room often. There were a ton of mosquitoes, catapillars (even in the bed) and even spiders in the room throughout the stay. The rooms are nice and spacious with comfortable beds. The shower did not drain propertly, so it flooded the bathroom, into another nearby room. The food was fair, not many choices to choose from; however, the ocean view and beach outside the restaurant had gorgeous views.
We loved our stay. Walkable to the ferry. Food at the restaurant was top notch.
Beautiful clean spacious villa with a veranda overlooking the well kept gardens. The restaurant is located right on the beach which gives you beautiful views of the bay. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The only negatives I have is the towels the bathrooms are too small and the use of umbrellas would of been great. As we had a lot of heavy showers whilst there and became marooned in our villa at times.
Beautiful waterfront property with lovely staff. Able to swim and snorkel right off the beach. Nice relaxing pool, and we had a gorgeous waterfront view - the only problem was the shower - it was so hot I could not rinse my hair - had to get out or burn myself, also poor water pressure. It's island life and the view compensated but I hope they fix that.
Cordial staff, great service, amazing food! I would definitely recommend ✨
We visited for breakfast, as there was only one other place doing breakfast in Port Elizabeth in this off-season. A lovely table to sit beside the water, efficient service and an interesting breakfast menu. Coffee good too. The food was perhaps not quite as praiseworthy, though I enjoyed my local dish of salt fish, fried potato and sweet plantain.
From the moment I arrived the staff went above and beyond to ensure my visit was comfortable and enjoyable. The front desk team was incredibly welcoming and efficient during check-in, making the process quick and smooth. I was impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the entire staff.
Front desk staff, wait staff, bartenders were all very friendly and helpful people.
The spot's packed with chill vibes, tons of grub spots, a killer beachfront sight, right by the hustle, and near other beaches. Totally a must-hit spot! 🏖️
Lovely hotel great location
The staff was very friendly. I liked having the option of eating at the hotel's restaurant or being served on the beach. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated with flowers. The complimentary drink and cold towel upon arrival was needed very much so appreciated.
Very close to the beach
Excellent boutique hotel.
Staff very helpful , spacious rooms like the open room concept where we are staying
Excellent service! Staff were friendly and accommodating. The facility was clean. The only problem was the persistent flies and mosquitoes. We couldn’t enjoy our meals due to their constant interruptions. There were places of standing water that I discussed with the staff that could be attended to. Aside from that I look forward to coming back!!
