Great stay in Colombo. Great roof terrace to chill out on or play a game of scrabble. Family dinners every evening and the beach only a 5 minute walk away!

Close to beach , friendly owner who gave nice advice about Sri Lanka and the places we wanted to go.

Rooms very basic and too expensive for a luxury room. Highest prices of our whole Sri Lanka stay for room that was not worth it, no breakfast. If you can skip Colombo that will be the best. Pictures of hostel are not what is is in real

It was cosy, a nice way to meet fellow travellers, and we had free dinner every evening together. A very relaxing rooftop and Pool as well and very friendly and helpful staff.

There were some shady people at the beach nearby.

Second time here great location short walk to the beach and easy trip into Colombo on bus or train. Staff are always super helpful. Double room large and clean with hot shower. Good simple breakfast available and complimentary dinner provided great for solo traveler.

Great locations. Morning walks on the beach - yes please! Love the evening family dinner, never had that experience in a hostel before and after a long day it was very much appreciated. Lovely rooftop space to also crack open the laptop and do a little work!

The owner of the hostel is really friendly and helpful! He gave us a lot of tips for our journey and told us a lot of stories. And what I really liked was the free family dinner every evening to connect with the other travelers by having a great meal!

Nette und lebendige Atmosphäre, mehrere Community Rooms und Dachterrasse. Es wurde ein gemeinsames Abendessen angeboten. Viele gute Insel- und Transport-Tipps durch den Inhaber. Unser privates Zimmer mit eigenem Bad, war groß und sauber.

This is an amazing stay if you want to spent time by the beach. The beach is just 200 m from the hostel and beautiful. The staff is so friendly and helpful in every way. Vibe is also fun.. you get to meet lot’s of people here which is very good thing if you are travelling solo. I liked everything.

Loved how social it was, how straight away we were invited to join the conversations by the volunteers working there, the communal dinner. Nice location and parking too!

There was mold in one room but we were given a different room, no hassle or problem.

Awesome place, great vibe. Beautiful rooftop, perfect for coworking and working out. Also had a great time playing games in the evenings. Volunteers are doing a great job 🤩

L’endroit est très agréable et convivial, que ce soit sur les tables du bas ou sur le rooftop. En plus, le repas du soir est offert, ce qui réunit tout le monde et permet de faire plus facilement connaissance avec les autres clients !

I had a great stay at Colombo Beach Hostel. The food was delicious, and the facilities were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The location is perfect—right by the beach, making it easy to relax and enjoy the ocean anytime. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Colombo!

Everything in this hostel is incredible. The rooftop is super chill, the pool is nice and there are a ton of places to hang out. It’s right across from the beach and you can even see the water to watch the sunset. They provide a free dinner every night, which was delicious, and the breakfast was also super fresh. We’ll definitely stay here again if we need accommodation when leaving Sri Lanka.

The top bunk beds in the dorm are a bit difficult to get into, especially if you’re short. If you have any mobility issues make sure you request a bottom bunk or book a private room here.

Great atmosphere and very helpful and kind staff. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning during the night cooled the room down to a nice temperature.

Best staff, cool hostel with lots of cool people. They offer free dinner and it’s the best to meet other travelers. I made good friends there and keep travelling together.

Dormitory: Very cramped, worn out mattresses, No AC before 8pm (dorm was sweltering during the day). No tea/coffee facilities. Expensive menu.

Cool rooftop, chilled vibes, 2 minutes from the beach and a supermarket, easy to get to on local bus, staff were helpful, rooms and bathrooms were clean. The food - family dinners and their daily menu - was delicious, especially the sambal egg sandwich

One shower room stinks. Upper bunk bed is bit dangerous. Can be fallen. May need better handles and steps for the safety.

Had aircondition at night! It was just a short walk to the beach, a store, some restaurants, and it was in a chill area. Nice with a free dinner every day aswell and free filtered water, thanks!

El personal ha sido genial y gracias a la cena que organizan en el hostel hemos podido compartir todos los que estabamos allí y me llevo algunas amistades :).

Están en obras y en ningún lado lo comentan. Lo cual es una pena porque reserve en parte por el espacio exterior que tenían y la piscina y no pude hacer uso de ello. La piscina está abierta pero es un poco complicado el espacio que hay para usar.

Reliable staff, clean and comfortable room, very good access to the beautiful beach. Definitely recommendable.

The accommodation what they showed in picture and the reality is not the same room very bad smelly and the staff was unfriendly. She was very rude. She don’t even give me a place to charge my phone and they’re not very friendly with the client. The lady was very unprofessional.

Schönes und gemütliches Hostel nicht weit vom Strand entfernt. Alles war sauber und auch der Staff war sehr freundlich. Es gab sogar ein kostenloses Abendessen.

this place is wonderful! And you're gonna meet so many nice people here. Every night we have dinner together. In the morning, make your coffee and sit on the rooftop. At first, you might find this area of the city boring… But after a day or two of walking around, you'll see a really fascinating and striking charm that many miss when they visit Colombo. This is not a party area, this is something else, and I think when you walk the hundreds of narrow alleys, and check out the little tiny cafés… You'll find that Colombo is a place to visit by itself, not just a place to catch a train to some other town in Sri Lanka

I didn't really like the pool area, for some reason there were a lot of mosquitoes. The staff really worked hard to prevent the mosquitoes… But I don't know where they were coming from!

Very nice hosts in a very comfy hostel. Loved the evening group diners. Kudos to Woody and the whole crew. They were all great!

It’s a very chill hostel but you still can connect with very nice travelers as they have nice and spacious common areas which are very nice and a lot of greens. When I was there they organized a vegetarian family dinner and it was very nice time to meet other people and shared good local food. All of the staff are very nice and helpful, they have a very sweet cat, you can find her on the lovely rooftop where comfy chairs or do yoga in the morning. The room with AC and fan, locker provided and clean toilet in the female dorm. I like it there, will definitely come back if I am in Colombo 👍

The mattress wasn’t good 😔😅 but in general other experience can make it up already

I didn't like the hostel, it's dark, sad, the beach is nearby, but the location is not good, it's better to relax in the south of Sri Lanka. It's far from the shops, there's no entertainment, only a noisy road nearby.

Great vibe and amazing staff!!!☺️ Shoutout to Sithul, he’s awesome! I had a great time even though I only stayed a short while. Great value for money, close to the beach and with a pool for chill on it :) Totally recommend it!

I booked a bed in the AC dorm but AC wasn't available. The staff had mixed up a booking where as a boy slept in the Girls dorm. The staff looked clueless. There was a big dead rat in the dining area but staff wasn't bothered to clean.

Beware of rats and mosquitoes

The staff here are really great specially sithul & dhushyanthi helpful for everything. Everyone staying here was great also and was a good place to make friends to continue travelling with or to meet along the way in Sri Lanka! The dinner they make each night is also delicious and free.

Great atmosphere. You can use the kitchen. Free meal in the evening. Beers in the fridge. Close to the main road for shops, restaurants and buses and close to the train station for trains going north and south. There is a swimming pool and roof top chill out space as well as a communal area downstairs. Filtered water is available free

Great location short walk from the beach and easy access to Colombo by train or bus. Staff super helpful and friendly. We had an en-suite room which was large and clean. Whilst travelling as a couple seemed a really good choice for single travellers. Plenty of shared space to mix or find quiet and a pool…..

Excellent location just a few minutes walk to the beach. Shared use of kitchen. The staff provide an evening family meal for free. You can purchase food and drinks. AC Rooms cleaned daily.

You can only use the AC late at night until early morning (which I completely understand) although when I did ask to pop it in early one evening they said yes.

Very social hostel at a good location just 5 min walk to the beach. A good first stop to start your travels, as you will def meet other travellers going the same direction. Good and warm shower. There’s free water and tea/ coffee, a fridge and you can use the kitchen to cook breakfast. There’s free dinner included (vegan curry and rice).

The matras was a bit uncomfortable (sagged).
