Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Handy location, comfortable bed, good shower, good selection of food for breakfast and dinner. Our server Charlie and other team members were friendly.
Our room was very hot even with the fan going. The room was tired and could use a freshen up.
Price for accommodation
Busy road
Clean comfortable room. Good breakfast , also good evening meals available. Friendly staff.
Room was a little small.
It was friendly great food and staff
Very slight damp smell in room
Friendly staff, comfortable room and excellent food.
Phone signal and internet were poor. Issues with the shower - albeit staff receptive to feedback
Nice pub garden with a lovely pond with ducks.
The staff were friendly
The whole place needed a good clean and smarten up
The bedroom was lovely
It was dirty in parts especially the conservatory where the breakfasts were being served. The cutlery was dirty and the so were cups and steel teapots.
Food was excellent quality and reasonably priced with good sized portions
We liked everything apart from the things we didn't like
Toilets unclean in room and the bar. Carpets unclean in room. Flies everywhere in bar area. Service slow in resaraunt for evening meal
The staff were polite
The photos are nothing like the property, the room was not clean, the bathroom was mouldy and we were overlooking a very busy A road
Excellent staff
Lovely room included fridge for real milk provided for tea. Also bottles of cold tap water. Tv had random kids shows which suited us just fine 😂 Breakfast was excellent. Staff were the highlight, so friendly and welcoming even with hyperactive children.
We ate there in the evening. We dudnt have a reservation but they found us a table so I am very grateful. Food took over an hour. Staff gave us an update. I appreciate it was very busy. Its not a criticism or complaint, just an observation/warning that at busy times service can be slow.
The room was beautiful as were the gardens and the building in general.. Very thoughtfully put together and would 100% stay again..
The only thing that could’ve been a little better was the food.. It was all perfectly the acceptable but it definitely sounded better on the menu than it was is practice..
The hotel was clean and had everything you needed or might need in the room. The food in the restaurant in the evening was lovely and prices are what I expected. I had a lovely couple of pints of Stone henge best bitter. The road outside can get a bit busy and being right next to a cross roads and opposite a garage, you need your wits about you leaving the hotel.
Only one thing let it down which I had to complain about. The fixed shower screen was not correctly fixed to the wall. Being a large heave piece of glass I was lucky to be able to catch it as it fell off the wall towards me. If it was a young child or someone more fragile than myself, serious injury or death could have happened. I suggested to the chap in charge after showing him that he may want to get the other room checked. Putting a little bit of construction glue to hold it is not good enough. It should be screwed to the wall. Hope they heed my advice.
The staff were amazing! So helpful and friendly. The food was tasty and well made A fan was in the room to help cool it down, which was very thoughtful (even if it didn't really do very much) The smaller shower head was great!
It was loud when they were closing up, so much banging! At breakfast we had to step over cleaning equipment The room was lovely, but SO hot! The toilet seat was not the right size and kept slipping , the larger shower head dripped when not running, and went in all directions when it was running. The cupboard doors for under the sink were filthy around the edges
Great location for Wind Hill bike park. Staff very accommodating and friendly.
Noise from the road but can’t be helped!
The late night entry
We found some hairs on the towel, dust and a bathroom with some spots on the ground.
It was a wonderful location if you are visiting Longleat and the outside garden and play area was a hit with our 4 year old.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend staying here, we stayed in room 10 and it was infested with bed bugs, I took images and videos for evidence and spoke to a manager about it. I have strongly advised they know about it and I hope they are not taking any future immediate bookings in this room until this is resolved. It was a great shame as the room and bed were very comfortable but the experience of discovering what we did was awful, we had to wash and tumble dry everything on our return and sterilise things. Reception offered a refund for our breakfast due to the problem but in reality it would’ve been acceptable to give compensation for the room cost. Please be assured I appreciate the staff did what they could with the knowledge they were provided with but more care and inspection needs to be taken in the rooms moving forward. I have stayed in many hotels for years and if I can give positive feedback I always strive to do so but I feel future bookings should know the truth of what we experienced. I won’t share images as I feel the hotel is aware of the problem.
Friendly staff, great location as we were attending a party close by. Air con unit in room
Everything was great - no complaints
Really friendly staff. Nice room. Very dog friendly
Could do with a really good deep clean. Cobwebs in room and conservatory. Black bathroom fittings need a good descale
Friendly staff
Nada
Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great. Location was perfect for my needs. Lovely outside seating area. Room had everything needed.
Excellent value for money. Clean comfortable and beautiful The staff made us so welcome the lady that checked us in and bar staff Taylor and Lillie was fun professional and a delight
Nulla
Well equipped room
Excellent food and service. Located next to a stream and pond perfect for a relaxing drink and eating. Friendly and accommodating staff.
The pub and bedroom was located on the busy main road. Ask for a room at the rear of the pub.
Friendly staff. Nice comfortable room. Plenty of free parking. Ideally placed for visiting Longleat Safari park. Fresh milk and water provided and a small fridge in the room. Large garden area.
Sited on a busy main road so quite noisy if you are facing the road. We asked to be moved and were immediately moved to a room at the side. But our windows were single glazed so even with the windows shut we could still hear the traffic. We didn't use the coffee machine because the water container was fully of scale.
We had a wonderful one-night stay at this hotel! We traveled as a family with our dog, and we felt incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived.
good value for money considering we booked our stay the night off - got caught in a thunderstorm while camping. Friendly staff on arrival - offered milk for the room and help with bags. Lady introduced our room explaining about free WiFi, breakfast times etc - honestly you couldn’t ask for better customer service when checking in. Room on arrival looked great, large double bed & comfortable. Didn’t hear the bar downstairs or any other guests in their rooms. TV in the room with all the apps. Good shower, pressure and temperature. Plenty of towels provided for our one night stay.
room needed a better clean through, old mould present within the bathroom (grey mould) a lot of spider webs and bugs around the windows. Windows didn’t open which wasn’t helpful during a heat wave. Fan was provided however this didn’t help. Previous guest had left an insulin pen in the fridge behind the water bottles so I’d say the tap water in the fridge doesn’t get swapped out per check out.
The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. It is a great location close to Longleat safari park. Comfortable beds.
The rooms were very hot and the windows did not open. The power shower had a big leak at the bottom which meant only half the water got to the shower head.
The staff were very friendly
The rooms was very dirty and the bed and bedding was very old, stained and lumpy. The food was average and over priced for what it was. I wouldn’t stay again.
Great facilities, all the staff were friendly and helpful
A bit pricey seeing as breakfast wasn’t included
Nettes Hotel am Meer. Nettes Personal.
Bed was very comfortable, with nice clean bathroom. Dinner was good and staff very friendly.
I thought the food was on the expensive side, for what it was.
Mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet. Sehr nette Gastgeber.
Direkt an der Straße, alles sehr hellhörig.
Good sized room with character. Nice comfy bed & pillows with quality linen & fluffy towels. Kettle, coffee machine & home made shortbread biscuits provided.
Paintwork in room & public areas requires attention/refresh Rooms overlook road, so expect traffic noise
Friendly welcoming staff
Nice, big room. Neat
Location was good. Wanted somewhere near to Centre Parcs to stay before a holiday
The room had not been cleaned well, carpets not vacuumed, dust on surfaces, dirty mark in bath tub. The coffee machine was broken and one of the tops of the bathroom soap dispensers was missing. The room was also very hot on arrival. The hotel had placed two fans in the room but they seemed to have little effect making it uncomfortable. I pointed these matters out but little was done to address.
Good location for Longleat safari park
Waited over an hour for tea time meal, not particularly good standard. They weren't able to cope with the demand of people. New management, seemed short staff. Breakfast time brought wrong food. Didn't want to exchange as already been waiting a while. Felt sorry for the girls working they were rushed off their feet. Second night drove to Frome to a recommended restaurant to avoid disappointment
The staff there were lovely and friendly However, they were very short staffed, and we began to feel a nuisance when we continually asked for either things to be provided, or to be fixed. Our bedroom was shabby, dirty and unloved
Dirty bedroom and bathroom. Beds looked freshly made, clean towels on arrival, but the room was dusty, around the bath and skirting boards, and inside cupboards and drawers were dirty. Our room or facilities were not refreshed each day as advertised. We prebooked evening meal and sat at our table at 6pm. At 7.30, I asked how much longer our food would be... we were told it would be ready at 8pm. Apparently they were very busy with non residents meals, and believed a 2 hour wait for residents evening meal was acceptable.
Beer garden and parking
Room, cleanliness and breakfast
Location was ideal for a stop on our travel itinerary. Range of food and drinks in the bar was good. Acceptance of a pet (dog) in the room and eating areas was helpful.
Room was too hot (exceptional weather) and the fan provided did not really make a cooling effect, just circulated the warm air. I left a shirt behind in the room and the hotel didn’t contact me to say it was found - as it was lying on the bed the cleaning staff must have recovered it. Wasn’t bothered about getting it back as it wasn’t new, but would have expected some contact from the hotel.
Good value, friendly staff. Large room. Food was good
Slight traffic noise
Room was nice, bed was comfortable. Food was good. Everyone was very friendly. Lovely outside space for walking the dogs.
Only slight let down was the cleanliness of the room, a few cobwebs and dusty bits.
It wasbeautiful and the family room was perfect
Good location- plenty of parking. Comfy beds and well equipped.
The bathrooms could do with a deep clean.
The room was good,,well appointed and clean and spacious,,and welcome pack for dogs,,, although attention was needed to wooden floor outside bathroom, very creaky ..
The fire door outside room 1 was badly fitting and kept hitting it's frame in the wind leading to a broken nights sleep ,,, and a hidden service charge on food and drink served outside
Lovely old pub with lots of character pretty surroundings
Noting we enjoyed our stay no faults
It was a traditional pub and inn. Which we liked. Had a lovely stream and outdoor garden area. The food was good, with fair prices. Great staff.
The room and facilities were very good. The breakfast was also good.
On the night of my stay I had to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for my food, it was a burger and chips. Quite frankly I would have had a better one at McDs at a third of the price and within 5 minutes!
Just perfect for our trip to centre park stayed before and after
Provided everything we required
Great room. Downstairs had alcohol free IPA on draught, which is a real treat outside London.
Our room was lovely, clean and well decorated. Lovely freshly made shortbread on arrival in our room along with tea & coffee facilities.
It was clean & spacious. Tables in the restaurant were nicely spaced apart. All the staff were welcoming and friendly they couldn’t do enough for you. Very local to Longlest, just a 10 min drive.
Nice room and good atmosphere within the bar

The bunk bed for my child was great and we had a super king bed!
Thick layer of dust behind the desk
Quality / comfort of room was excellent. Good bed and had a small fridge containing water and fresh milk for coffee and tea facilities. Nice touch to leave homemade shortbread for first night. Good location for Center Parcs, Warminster, Stonehenge etc
The breakfast met the minimum requirements of what was promised. Toast forgotten from one of our breakfasts, cold hash browns, heavily fried.
The room was incredibly hot, and some areas were covered in dust and fluff. There were multiple black hairs on one of the beds, and no fitted sheet on the other which meant we slept on a bare, old mattress. Damp in some corners of the room too. The food was particularly bad. Dinner as burnt and everything tasted bitter like it had been fried in old oil. Made a complaint at the time and they did swap one dish for a pizza, which was the only edible dish. Breakfast equally poor and not much care there in the kitchen overall.
Really good pub, enjoyable Sunday meal, friendly staff, very comfortable room and a good breakfast
Only thing, there was a service charge added automatically to the bill for supper.
Large clean and comfortable room, well appointed
Rain shower did not work, Wi-Fi didn’t work, TV didn’t work and too many noises prevented me sleeping
The staff were great and so was the food! They made a great fuss of my friend's dog too.
Slight issue with creaking floorboards but that really can't be helped in an old building.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great food with an excellent breakfast in particular.
staff, accommodation and food were all excellent
Bathroom needed a little bit of TLC
The bed was really comfortable and loved the selection of tea selection and the toiletries, which were provided smelt lovely. We chose to have tapas for our evening meal. It was good. There is so much to choose from for breakfast. We had an egg floretin and it was lovely, thank you.
I was a bit confused on arrival where to check in? We went to the bar. It could do with a hoover and a dust in places.
location great. Staff Great, beer lovely, food fine, service tops
nothing really .
