Great location, right at the lake and walking distance to the center and the temple. Super friendly and helpful staff! The food was very good. Our room was clean and comfortable.

Fiquei num quarto no 4.º andar, mas o elevador apenas chega ao 3.º, sendo necessário subir escadas com a bagagem. A receção indicou que havia um cofre no quarto, mas este não existia. Durante os dois dias, o duche não funcionou corretamente. No primeiro dia pedi ajuda ao staff, mas no segundo acabei por desistir. A água nunca chegou a ficar quente, o que foi bastante desapontante. Havia um cheiro muito desagradável junto à saída do elevador no 3.º andar. O quarto não estava tão bem cuidado e arranjado como seria de esperar tendo em conta o próprio hotel e o seu enquadramento. O minibar/frigorífico estava completamente vazio.

So ein schönes Hotel! Mein Zimmer hatte unfassbar hohe Decken und einen schönen Ausblick in den grünen Garten. Es war sehr sauber und das Bett sehr bequem. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool ist zwar nichts super außergewöhnliches, aber es macht schon Spaß dort nach dem ganzen sightseeing dort nochmal eine Runde zu drehen. Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und ich denke dort findet jeder irgendwas :)

Magnifique maison dans un cadre de verdure très agréable. Chambre très confortable et belles. Le petit déjeuner est variés et le fait de pouvoir manger dehors est agréable. Le personnel est intentionné.

Het is een groot hotel. Toen we arriveerden, dacht ik in eerste instantie dat we bij het verkeerde hotel waren, omdat het er in het echt anders uitziet dan op de foto’s. Wel fijn is dat het hotel een eigen parkeerplaats heeft waar je je auto of tuktuk veilig kunt parkeren. Het hotel is enorm groot en heeft veel kamers. Hierdoor voelt het wat meer als een massaal hotel dan als een klein en gezellig resort. De kamers zijn relatief klein, maar voor ons verblijf van één nacht was dat prima en voldoende. Het hotel oogt wat ouder en gedateerd, maar het onderhoud zag er over het algemeen nog goed uit. Voor één nacht prima, maar persoonlijk zou ik hier niet voor een langer verblijf kiezen.

De kamers zijn vrij klein en je ziet hier en daar wat gebruikssporen. De hygiëne is prima en de kamer was netjes schoon. Wel zou het hotel op sommige punten wat meer onderhoud kunnen gebruiken.

Beautiful well kept historic building in great location on Lake Kandy. Very friendly and helpful staff on reception and Amila was super helpful serving us at the bar. Food was great but buffet prices expensive compared to local dining venues. Very pleased to be greeted on arrival with a welcome drink and swans, petals and honeymoon cake in our room.

Buffet was promoted strongly for both dinner and breakfast, but seemed overpriced compared to a la carte menu

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location. The pool was amazing. Great breakfast choice. Very clean. Room had Aircon and ceiling fan. Very comfy bed and good bathroom.

Shower wasn't working very well.

The hotel is nice, clean and well maintained. The reception staff were very kind, friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience yesterday afternoon. I had clearly placed the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door because I was sleeping, yet a member of the housekeeping staff entered my room anyway and woke me up because they wanted to clean the room. I find this unacceptable. The purpose of the “Do Not Disturb” sign is to ensure that guests are not disturbed and that their privacy is respected. Entering the room despite the sign, especially while the guest is sleeping, is a serious lack of consideration and professionalism. Apart from this incident, I had a good impression of the hotel, but unfortunately this experience affected my overall stay.

Cumplieron con la petición de poner las habitaciones juntas, aunque el check in fue un poco caótico! El hotel es bonito, luce antiguo pero es parte del encanto. las habitaciones eran amplias, el desayuno esta bien-normal. Tiene lo básico. Todo el personal fue amable y servicial.

El baño podía estar algo más limpio y con más papel higiénico.

La limpieza

La habitación estaba arrinconada . olía a humedad. Y se oía mucho ruido de motores. Un recepcionista fue demasiado agobiante ofreciéndonos los servicios que hacia su padre.

Incredible place. The money for value is pretty amazing, staff is very friendly and welcoming, the food was so so good - both the dinner and the breakfast, it had all the possible food cooked at its perfection. The rooms are big and comfortable, the place has such a beautiful charm. The pool is lovely. Everything and everyone was truly exceptional.

Beautiful building, grounds and pool, very comfortable bed in large, well-appointed, air conditioned room. All the staff were excellent.

I booked half board but the first night was a buffet selection, which was not good at all - happily, the second night's table d'hôte was excellent. Better coffee at breakfast and other times would be appreciated.

Great pool, location good. Made is a packed breakfast as we had to leave early.

Asked for twin room not double. Got blanket 'if available' response on booking. Only way on arrival I could get twin was to upgrade at 50% increase in cost.

Schönes Hotel in zentraler Lage. Zimmer zweckmäßig & sauber. Frühstück war sehr gut und vielfältiges. Für Kandy perfekt.

Beautiful hotel with buildings dating back to 1890 so has colonial charm combined with all the comfort you want and need. Our room was very nice with lovely extra touches such as good quality toiletries, robes, tea/coffee making facilities plus a TV with satellite channels and Netflix and prime. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff - nothing is too much trouble. Lovely grounds and pool area which has sun loungers / pool towels Great restaurant and bar. Food was excellent and a huge choice at the buffet breakfast. Best hotel we’ve stayed in after 3 weeks travelling across Sri Lanka.

Para ser un 5 estrellas fatal. 20 minutos para una cerveza y estabamos solos. El personal no da a basto. El hotel mas caro y el peor sin duda de Sri Lanka.

A vintage hotel with utmost modern amenities, the most convenient location to enjoy what Kandy has to offer, right beside the lake.

The hotel was a beautiful old colonial era building with lots of history associated to it. The location was perfect and a short walk to the Temple Of The Tooth.

The building has seen better days, and our room could have done with a refurb especially the bathroom. The Front Of House staff almost spoiled the stay by insisting we had taken things from the Mini Bar and made a big fuss at check out. I appreciate they must have people try it on but there was nothing in the Mini Bar when we checked in and no matter how many times we mentioned it, they did not believe us. In the end they advised it was a House Keeping error and apologised but it didn't feel great to be accused of something we hadn't done.

El hotel tiene mucho encanto, con unas instalaciones muy cuidadas y un ambiente acogedor que invita a relajarse y disfrutar de la estancia. La ubicación es perfecta para descubrir Kandy y sus principales atractivos, al tiempo que ofrece tranquilidad. Nos llevamos un recuerdo magnífico y no dudaríamos en volver ni en recomendarlo a cualquier persona que visite Kandy.

Location, Ambience and old world charm

The room was far too warm. There was an a/c but it was tiny and far too small for the room. It was set to 21 degrees but did nothing resulting in a very uncomfortable night.

Wir hatten einen sehr gelungenen Aufenthalt im Hotel Suisse in Kandy. Die Lage ist ideal: direkt gegenüber dem See und nur etwa 15 Gehminuten vom Zentrum entfernt – perfekt, um etwas ruhiger zu wohnen, aber dennoch schnell mitten im Geschehen zu sein. Auch der Poolbereich ist wirklich schön angelegt und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Zimmer: Die einfachen Zimmer variieren in Ausstattung und Stil. Grundsätzlich ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht: gute Betten, eine gut funktionierende Klimaanlage und die nötige Grundausstattung. Allerdings sahen die Zimmer auf den Buchungsfotos mit Holzvertafelung, Sitzecke und gemütlicher Einrichtung etwas anders aus als unser erstes Zimmer, das eher steril wirkte und eine sehr einfache Dusche hatte. Nach einem unkomplizierten Zimmerwechsel erhielten wir jedoch ein deutlich geräumigeres Zimmer mit einer tollen Regendusche, das viel mehr unseren Erwartungen entsprach. Restaurant & Service: Ein absolutes Highlight war die Gastronomie! Es gibt sowohl ein reichhaltiges Buffet als auch Speisen à la carte – mit einer gelungenen Mischung aus authentischen sri-lankischen Gerichten und europäischen Speisen. Das gesamte Personal war durchweg aufmerksam und stets bemüht. Ganz besonders möchten wir Amadya hervorheben: Sie war überragend freundlich, hat uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt, sich Zeit für nette Gespräche genommen und uns hervorragende Ausflugstipps für die Umgebung gegeben. Insgesamt ein tolles Hotel mit klasse Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen es weiter!

We got a last minute deal and I cannot fault the staff, location and room. It’s an old colonial style building and we had a Heritage room which they put a camp bed in as I was with my two teenage children. Breakfast was delicious and we felt totally spoilt.

Lovely staff particularly Minon, the front office manager, who changed and upgraded our initial room because of a problem with the shower. She was always on hand checking everything was going well. The hotel is a historic building and some beautiful areas, particularly the pool and dining room. Our second room was stunning with a lovely bathroom.

There were a lot of staff dealing with check in and check out which was slightly disconcerting (we were at times asked questions by three different people) it is a lovely old building but some areas could probably do with an upgrade such as the carpet in the hallways.

We loved this place! We arrived late into the night and quite sleepy unsure what to expect since the price was so low. What a surprise it was to discover we had been upgraded!

We loved that it had a “The Shining” feel to it (maybe not everyone will feel the same).

Herrlicher Kolonialstil - Vibe, da fühlt man sich in alte Zeiten versetzt, wobei es aber gut in Schuss gehalten ist. Tolle Lage am See, allerdings hat man eher wenig Blick darauf. Besonders schön ist auch der recht große Pool und Liegenbereich zum Entspannen zwischen den Stadt-/ Besichtigungsaktivitäten. Super Frühstücksbuffet.

Der Umkleidebereich am Pool wird (zurecht) wenig genutzt, könnte besser gepflegt werden.

The room, old, phone and light broken, no fridge, no paintings or photos on the wall, no decoration. A bit sad compared to the hotel.

Excellent accueil et un service au top. L'hôtel a beaucoup de charme et il est idéalement placé à Kandy. La piscine est très agréable et le petit-déjeuner est excellent. Tout était parfait.

L emplacement et le style ancien

Un accueil déplorable, du personnel pas à la hauteur et sans aucun sens du service client, à la limite du respect : 1. Ns avions réservé une chambre pour 3 adultes , non seulement la chambre n est pas prête mais on nous propose d ajouter un extra bed d appoint alors que nous avons réservé et payé pour 3 vrais lits 2. Nous avons attendu les bagages plus de 30 mn avant que je ne parte à leur recherche et ils étaient déposés au milieu d un couloir au 2 e alors que nous étions au 4 e 3. Pas de serviette de toilette dans la chambre , nosi avons dû encore attendre 30 mn 4. Lors de l accueil , plus de tasse propre , le serveur me sert le thé dans une tasse déjà utilisée et ne semble pas comprendre que cela ne me convienne pas 5 . La manager en charge pas du tout agréable et a l écoute , un manque de respect , elle se moquait de la situation , aucune excuse de sa part 6 la chambre manque de propreté , énormes moutons sous les lits Nous avons perdu plus de 2 h à l accueil ce qui nous a Privé de douche et de piscine avant notre rendez vous de fin d apres midi

Hotel increíble, se come muy bien, instalaciones super limpias, 100% recomendable. Para Sri Lanka lo recomiendo 100%.
