The property suited our needs for location we were at a wedding in a nearby hotel was handy enough to get to.

We paid £167 for one night, so unfortunately I didn’t feel the stay was good value for money. We arrived at around 2:40pm, just 20 minutes before the 3pm check-in time. We were told it would be another 30 minutes before the room was ready. As we were attending a wedding, we didn’t want to wait around and explained that we only wanted to leave our bags and check in before heading off, so we declined and returned to the hotel at around 2am. Unfortunately, the room was disappointing. The bathroom was not particularly clean, with dirt visibly built up in the grooves of the bathroom door. The biggest issue was the shower. The water temperatures seemed to be the wrong way around, with the cold water actually coming out warmer than the hot. I had shower gel on me and couldn’t properly wash it off, so I ended up having to get out and soak a towel to clean myself. The room also had a damp, musty feeling to it, which wasn’t pleasant. I am genuinely not fussy when it comes to hotels, especially when I’m only looking for somewhere to get my head down for the night, so I wouldn’t normally complain about minor things. However, for £167 for one night, I expected a basic level of cleanliness and functioning facilities. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the room met that standard and it wasn’t good value for the price we paid.

I liked the old worldly character it was a very pleasant stay

The flooring was a bit tired it could do with a refresh. A wooden or laminate floor would help modernise the look and would be easier to clean than carpet.

Excellent location for touring the Antrim coast/Giant's Causeway area. Great staff, brilliant buffet breakfast and evening meals. The special 2 night deal that they do includes a £50 dinning credit - which pretty much covers the cost of the entire meal!

It's hard to beat this location if exploring the local area with car parking provided.Easy to find local restaurants a short walk away.Very little information provided about the ballymena area and shopping areas.Reception could be a bit more welcoming . The room was adequate but some have very limited views,bed very comfortable

Lovely clean room and en-suite. Food really good. However, bar prices increased overnight for the same drinks and no explanation when questioned about it. I feel they should have a clear full bar price List on show.

Warm welcoming on arrival, all of the staff are friendly and accommodating, rooms are cleaned daily. During a long stay the hotel made me feel like I was at a home from home.

As we were attending a wedding we didn’t come back to late so all windows were open and no heat so the room was so cold. It did heat up quickly after turning radiator on, the water was scalding in the shower and extremely difficult to adjust

The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived until we left. The food was superb and Hayley G who served us again made us welcomed and nothing was to much trouble for her and made the evening easy and enjoyable.

As we were at a wedding nearby unfortunately we were not able to fully experience your lovely hotel. The breakfast staff were a little sharp and very quick to taking the hot food away.(It was not even 10am!) One of our friends nearly missed her cooked breakfast as she was finishing her fruit.

We've stayed during our road-trip and the location and free parking is a clear plus. The staff is friendly and breakfast was good. Our room was somewhat outdated and small, so was the ensuite.

We had requested two rooms by the lift and close to each other and this was agreed in writing. Unfortunately, it was not the case one room was close to the lift and the other a good distance away. The second room was also quite dusty and looked like it hadn’t been used for some time. Fortunately, we are able to see beyond this.

The hotel is a short walk from the train station and the Indian restaurant nearby is a good option. Breakfast was fine with a good selection. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

It was noisy at night and some guests were loud in the corridors. The restaurant closes early during the week. The room was rather warm.

Lovely hotel and the food we had for the evening meal was amazing. Deffo stay here again if we find ourselves back in Ballymena

Not much to like about this hotel. Staff are very nice, that's about it.

The room was dirty, stains everywhere throughout the room and a constant smell of food and grease from the kitchen which obviously travels up through the hotel. Breakfast was poor quality. It was cold, not a lot on offer and did not taste great. Finally, from a very early hour there was a very loud noise outside the room, at first I thought it was building works but it turned out to be a vent right outside the window. At the price I paid it was not worth it. There are much better hotels of the same star out there providing much better facilities than this.

Guest check in was strictly at 3pm and no consideration for guests who have travelled very far

First time at this lovely, historic hotel. Had a relaxing atmosphere. Staff were very helpful. Lovely food. Rooms are small but cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Slept well. Free parking onsite. Convenient to town centre and very close to the theatre where we watched a show. A nice 2 night break away. Will be back! If you’re looking for a short break we highly recommend this hotel.
