Wonderful mountain location. Nice indoor and outdoor baths. Generous afternoon tea treats and drinks as well as drinks with dinner all included.
Buffet style dinner and breakfast were a bit chaotic with large crowds. Was nice to be in Tatami room and experience a futon, but it was very firm bedding so I did not get much sleep.

Typical Japanese Onsen Hotel in beautiful setting
The onsen was spectacular and the staff could not have been more helpful, despite us needing to rely on Google Translate. The buffet was exceptional and great value.
No place to do healthy stretching or yoga or just chill.
Great location for Kiso valley
Lack of decent outside space bar the onsen. Only an odd tiny patio area. Could do so much more with areas in front of hotel

Beautiful
The property has a quite luxurious feel with very large lobby and seating area. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. If you purchase the half board, you will need to choose your seating time (there are two different times for both breakfast and dinner). There is a vast array of food available in a buffet style. There is also a lobby area with beautiful views where you can sit and enjoy unlimited snacks and drinks. I was unable to use the public baths as I have tattoos, so please be aware that you will be prohibited (as in most Onsen) if you have tattoos that can not easily be covered. I was fully aware of this policy as I checked the website, and I completely respect this is the tradition in Japan.
The location is fairly remote. There is no easily walkable destination nearby. I think most people likely view the hotel as a destination in and of itself.
Spettacolare resort all inclusive con tantissimi servizi e ottimo cibo. Frequentato quasi esclusivamente da giapponesi.

Beautiful property, zen atmosphere, well run. Loved the all you can drink local sake! Drink offering is great. Massage chairs a delight as well. Full board is impressive and the Yakata selection made it more special for us. Lobby atmosphere is very cozy and private onsen was amazing
Rooms were dated and could use renovation
I had higher expectations given the price, but unfortunately, my stay didn't quite live up to them. The staff spoke excellent English, but the service felt a bit impersonal. The breakfast and dinner buffet, including unlimited drinks, may appeal to many guests, but it wasn't the relaxing dining experience I was looking for. The open-air onsen was beautiful, but guests with tattoos aren't allowed unless they're covered. I completely respect this policy, but after staying at several other onsen during my trip without any issues, it made it harder for me to fully relax. Overall, it wasn't a bad hotel, but it just wasn't the experience I had hoped for.
The facilities , The food, the onsen is great
The rooms are a bit old
Eigenlijk niets!
Great onsen, amazing buffet and spectacular views in the middle of the mountains.
Everything was perfect.
Food!
A little expensive

Buffet selection was very broad and all really delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was in a good location for the start of the trail, although need to check bus times/ route in advance, as not as frequent off season for the Magome trail and there isn’t a footpath/ it’s all on a main road if you try and walk to the footpath. Little bit dated but still very spacious and very clean
the room was spacious, clean and beautiful. the onsen was amazing, both the private and public.
they straight up lied to us about restaurant timetable. first night we arrived around 18:00 to the hotel, and had a normal dinner time 19:00-21:30. then they told us that second night the dinnertime will be changed to 17:30-19:00. we were very suprised, and asked why and how and told them that we had planned activities and can't come back that soon, they just shrugged that this is a fixed time they cannot do anything about it. also they informed us that the breakfast will be from 7:00-8:00, every day, fixed time also. so from 4 provided meal, we had to skip the next dinner and breakfast being too early for our planned programs. only later we accidentallly realized that these are not fixed times, but slots they gave us without asking or informing us about or try to accomodate our programs. but also no one checked the slots, or room numbers at the restaurant, so they couldn't even care who and when having the meal. so we didn't understand at all the point of this, and why did they handle these things like that. so last morning we just went to have a breakfast at 9:00, there were like 5 other people in the huge restaurant beside us, so the point is not avoiding rush times I guess. also the shuttle bus is not picking you up from the nakasendo trail, so if you are in Tsumago or Magome, please plan accordingly as the hotel is a good 50min uphill walk from Tsumago.
Room was clean, afternoon tea and drinks after checkin welcome. Dinner was plentiful with all you can drink on offer, also massage chairs and baths an option which we did not try.
Finding our room was a little challenging as it was in another building. Hotel is quite isolated so no other food options are available unless you have a car.
Spacious rooms, massage chairs and onsen.
It had a cruise ship type feeling especially probably to accommodate the large number of people. Large assortment of foods but nothing outstanding. There aren’t enough shuttle buses.
We really enjoyed the onsen, which was very well maintained. The complimentary drinks in the lobby were a nice touch, and the room was clean.
My partner enjoyed dinner, but I had a less pleasant experience. Although I was informed in advance that special vegetarian meals could not be accommodated, I asked one of the staff members to check the ingredients of a specific dish. Instead, he took me to the sign at the entrance and pointed to the notice saying that allergies could not be accommodated. I explained that I do not have allergies and simply wanted to check the ingredients, but he refused. Since this is a large hotel, I expected a little more consideration and flexibility. I hope that in the future guests will be able to ask freely about the ingredients of dishes. Dinner could also have been more varied, with some meat-free options, and the same applies to breakfast, so that more guests can find something suitable and feel comfortable.
Awesome stay, clean, food is good, snacks available all time of the day, view from the balcony is breathtaking, onsen is clean and feels wonderful. Upon arrival you are greeted by the staff, is helped with the check-in and explained how the facilities work and everything. Would book again anytime.
Can be a bit pricey, but the installations and food make it worth it. Hard to access, there is one bus that pass a certain amount of time in the day (every 3h or so), or you could walk there, but it's on a "highway" with no pedestrian space. Other then that nothing "bad" to say.
I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel only has 3 stars — it deserves far more. I’ve stayed in many high-end hotels and ryokans before, and this place easily exceeded my expectations. The onsens were absolutely fantastic: beautifully maintained, relaxing, and clearly designed with great attention to detail. The food was another highlight — with excellent quality and a great variety of dishes. The hotel also offers an impressive number of amenities for guests, which made the entire stay extremely comfortable and convenient. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and decorated in a very elegant modern Japanese style that felt both cozy and refined. Everything from the atmosphere to the service felt much more premium than what you would normally expect from a 3-star hotel. I would happily come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay.
Food buffet was great. Hotel facilities were nicer than the pictures. Easy access to Tsumago via taxi. Great stop along nakasendo trail
Huge property. Outstanding baths including multiple outdoor rotemburos. Free massage chairs. The staff were very helpful and some spoke English. My friend had left his phone at the Tsumago bus stop. A staff member phoned the tourist office there and they found his phone. The local bus to Tsumago is right outside the hotel and it’s a short ride.
This could be either a plus or a minus…breakfast and dinner are buffet style. It does allow you to tailor the food to your likes and control portion size. But if you’re expecting a meal where you are served, this is not that experience.
Todo, el Onsen y la Comida

The facilities are incredible! The outdoor Onsens were my absolute fave! Every morning and evening we used them. The staff were so kind hand helpful. immaculately clean everywhere and the rooms were really comfortable and the food was 10/10. You can fully switch off here it's super relaxing.
Nothing!

Perfect location for exploring the Nakasendo Trail either from Tsumago-juku to Magome or in the opposite direction. Very helpful in assisting us with getting a taxi to the trail. Facilities were great from the Onsen to the dining facilities to the room. Everyone was very helpful and courteous.
The building is starting to show it's age but it must be very tough to maintain given its age, size and location (subject to the forces of mother nature). And there simply cannot be as full featured a property anywhere as convenient to the Nakasendo trail. It did not matter to us as we found the stay to be very pleasant in all ways. The massage chairs were an added bonus after a day hiking.
I knew from the pictures that it would meet my needs. But straight at arriving I was pleasntly surprised with the hotel. The entrance, the lobby, the reception. Everything. Even the lounge drinks and snacks were free of charge. The dinner buffet was huge, with free drinks. Not just softdrinks and beer, but even whisky and other strong alcohol. The room was spacious and in Japanese style. There is a public and a private onsen. We used the privat, which needs to be reserved. We were assisted during checkin and the onsen reservation by reseptionist Yona. A lovely lady that speaks very good English. Compliments to her.
Nothing. It was just great
The hotel is spacious, and we like the location that is out of noise. Best of it we can enjoy free flow of sake, wines and snacks.
The room is small.
Beautiful location.
If you like the feel of a cruise ship on land, that’s how this hotel is run. Community dining, etc. The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were very hard.
Daar kwamen we erna pas achter.
Everything! Such a wonderful place to stay at, especially after a rainy day on the Nakasendo trail
Everything was perfect
This a great hotel with onsen if you want to do Nakasedo trail. Bus stop to take you to Tsumago is just around the corner and hotel itself has as hsuttle form Nagiso station. We really enjoyed staying in traditional japanese room. Dinner buffet is great with a variety of drinks. Breakfast is more on japanese side with fewer western slection, but stil great.
