Great place to stay!!!
Very Discreet, and quite..
The shower, didn't work at times very low water pressure..
The room that I paid for wasn’t ready. After I was confirmed that it would be.
The staff was amazing. The young lady holding down the fort was very helpful. She made me feel at home. Very quiet calm location, but just mins away from everything..
People having problems finding the location. The building didn’t have a noticeable sign.
very comfortable and the ambiance was nice
The building and the facilities are lovely, so is the staff
The hot water wasn't working well, so no hot shower which I do mind.
This boutique hotel is beautiful and relaxing. Perfect location; short walk to the beaches and vendors but away from the noise. Sasia and Marc are exceptional hosts, accommodating and gracious. My husband and I highly recommend staying here and hope to return ourselves!
Clean place, cozy bedroom with terrace, hydromassage jacuzzi, has a bed at out side, And a massage table. Great decoration. The host and the other people are very friendly. One thing they shoud consider is hot water for the jacuzzi.
Excellent service. Beautiful grounds. Modern facilities. Excellent security. The food is gourmet with a European flair. I loved this place
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach (just watch the highway). The Downtown district of bars and restaurants is 10 minutes away by taxi. The place was clean and kept in great order. The restaurant is connected to the hotel and no need to leave the premises. The WiFi was great in the rooms. The hotel is resort like without the connected beach. There are a number of swimming, tanning, and resting areas. They were also able to exchange dollars for pesos for you.
Absolutely loved this hotel! Beautiful hotel close to beach, restaurants, and bars. Definitely going back!
A very pleasant experience at this hotel. Just as stated, I was greeted by Saiskia and the crew upon arrival. Saskia and staff were very professional/relaxed and helpful. The room was excellent, could not have asked for better. High quality first class treatment best describes your establishment. I would definitely recommend your hotel to those wanting high quality service. The location is perfect, only a couple minutes walk away from the beach. Look forward to staying there again sometime in the near future. MICHAEL
The property and room were beautiful although it felt like a ghost hotel given there were no other guests. If driving, expect street parking. Pool area was beautiful. Beach access required a short walk leading to a heavily trafficked two-way street which one crossed at one’s peril. The beach itself, full with local families, was pleasant in that renting lounge chairs and purchasing food and drink was easily available. Casa 21 restaurant next to hotel was excellent.
Only stayed here for a few days to get over jet lag before heading out to explore the island. This was by far the best hotel experience of our trip and easily beats the luxury hotels of Santo Domingo. Saskia and Marc are just as nice and helpful as everyone says. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable; also quite apparently brand new. Couples - if you have only recently met, take into consideration the fact, that at least the toilet in our room did not have a door. 🙂 Two pools (shared with neighbouring Casa 21), pleasant garden / pool area. Breakfast well worth the money. Staff make excellent cocktails and the food at the restaurant of Casa 21 is actually quite impressive. The hotel is a short walk from the beach (you do have to cross a very busy road). There’s also a supermarket close by. Wasn’t a big fan of Sosúa, but would definitely stay in this hotel again.
I heard this statement several times daily from our wonderful host Saskia, who with Marc, created a perfectly tranquil home base for our north coast DR vacation. With everything neatly coordinated prior to our arrival, the airport service and taxi ride was smooth, we arrived at the boutique b and b greeted by three very different, but all equally loveable, dogs, and our gracious hosts, Marc and Saskia. Our 7 night, 8 day stay was flawless. The Royal Suite was always tidy, mini bar well stocked, with every need already met, or quickly met by staff. The whole staff was remarkably friendly, professional, and eager to assist from hosts, to waitstaff, to housekeeping, and grounds crew. Breakfast is excellent with choices of various breads, meat, cheeses, spreads, and eggs prepared by order. My wife and I assumed we would spend most of our days in town or exploring nearby Cabarete and Puerto Plata, but after a day in each, we were so pampered at Casa-22, we spent most of our remaining days right by the pool resting, sunning, chatting with guests, or watching the dogs. Everything was very much to our liking. We will most certainly return.
We needed a quiet getaway for only 5 days. Somewhere to have peace and quiet, outstanding food, and the best hospitality. We were more than 100% pleased with Casa 22 & Casa 21 (known as Case Veintiuno). We booked the room at Casa 22, we had the pool side room which was beautiful and modern with a shower that had two shower heads (great for couples). The bed was a king size and super comfortable. We were steps from the pool and the lounge area and 20 steps to Casa Veintiuno that served the most wonderful meals. We are foodies from Toronto and I can honestly say the dinners were comparable if not better than some of the best in T.O. The accommodations were 5 star but it was the hospitality of Saskia and Marc that made our trip outstanding. We arrived on Friday night and had no booking for any excursions. We didn't realize because of our short stay that excursions were difficult to arrange b/c most tour groups book in advance for the upcoming week and don't run excursions every day. However, at dinner during our meal, Saskia connected with the tour groups to find us space on a waterfall/jungle excursion we really wanted to do and had it all arranged by the time we finished dinner with a pick up first thing in the morning. Not only that, they even opened the kitchen 30 min early to have breakfast ready for us before our pick-up time. Wow, that was service! That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the 5 days. We want to thank Saskia and Marc for a wonderful time.
This new hotel comes with big, excellent rooms! Hotel facilities are great and the hotel managers (that are the owners of the hotel next door, Casa 21) are very kind, truly great service! We had two relaxing days in this small hotel, the price/value is excellent! The hotel is located a 10 min walk away from Sosua town, with beaches, services and restaurants. The hotel next door has a great restaurant.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa 22! Saskia and Marc own Casa Veintiuno which is attached to Casa 22 and they take care of all guest at both locations. There is attention to every detail needed. You are greeted as part of the family. The Sosua Beach is easy to walk to, as is town. Safe, certified water on location. The restaurant, Casa Veintiuno is the best in town - you will not be disappointed!. Casa 21 was recommended to us by a friend that had stayed previously. Many guests return every year! The rooms are fantastic, the staff really cares and everyone is accommodating.
Having travelled to Cabarete three times in the past, this wasn’t our first trip to the DR but was our first to Sosua. We stayed at Casa 22 which is attached to Casa 21 where our hosts, Marc and Saskia run both their inn and Casa Veintiuno, the best restaurant in Sosua. We were greeted by Saskia along with their three friendly and very well behaved dogs. After welcoming us with complimentary rum drinks, Saskia escorted us to our wonderful room, the Glamor Suite and gave us a tour of the beautifully maintained property along the way. Being a couple who enjoys gourmet dining, we were impressed not only with the food but also with the professional and friendly staff. The team worked seamlessly together to make sure each guest was attended to and at no time were they intrusive. The food was creative, very tasty, beautifully presented and bountiful. We had the opportunity to chat with the head chef for a while and get her take on how she expertly sources great ingredients. The cocktails were tuned to our liking and the wine selection was lengthy. The owners, being Belgian, also maintain a wonderful variety of Belgian beers. The decor is elegant with simple lines and colors complimented with oil paintings and furnishings. Our room had a lovely and large soaking tub with a great view of the greenery outside. The pool areas were nicely appointed with plenty of clean towels, chaise lounges, umbrellas and a massage cabana with linen privacy drapes. The pool was clean and well maintained with a very relaxing spa-like audio track playing in the background. Saskia referred us to several restaurants to allow us some variety in our dining but our favorite was Casa Veintiuno @ Casa 21 with the very welcoming and fashionable Saskia hosting each night. We wanted to visit some of the restaurants we liked in Cabarete and it was an easy 700 peso cab ride in the evening. Cabbing it to downtown Sosua was a quick 300 peso ride when we wanted to be “in town.” Two beaches are easily accessible from the inn, Playa Sosua and Playa Alicia. The former is lined with small shops and restaurants and is a shallow beach. The water was clear and warm with mild waves. Playa Alecia was a deeper beach with plenty of space, clear , warm water and great beach waiters who will get you chairs, umbrellas and drinks (for 500 pesos plus drinks). We preferred Playa Alecia but both were nice. We hope to return to Casa 21/Casa 22 again. If we were to stay in Cabarete, we would certainly make the trip to Casa Veintiuno @ Casa 21 just for the dining. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
I normally do not write reviews in general, however I have to say what a wonderful place and experience at Casa-22 in Sosua ! First, this boutique hotel is modern in design and on a quiet block off the main road, very close to Sosua beach, walking distance. The rooms are fantastic, very comfortable and well kept. It is what you would like to come back to after spending a lot of time out. The staff are excellent, the most accommodating I have experienced here in the Dominican Republic. We could not of asked for a better host of Saskia & Marc, they are wonderful people in all ways. Very accommodating and helpful with information you require and great suggestions. I stayed in the Royal suite, I highly recommend this room for everything it offers, but all rooms are very nice. You would not be disappointed with any room there, trust me ! The restaurant Casa Veintiuno is one of the best restaurants we've eaten at in DR. Great quality, with creative dishes that taste so well, you will not be disappointed ! Even the breakfast served is outstanding. Overall the place is Excellent with great service, Food & location ! I do plan on returning ASAP....Thank you to Saskia, Marc & all the Staff who made our short stay a memorable one !
My job consists in a lot of travelling and thus spending most of my time in hotels around the world. We selected Casa 22 for holidays with my wife and 6 year old son as we wanted to avoid the "all inclusive" experience and have some quiet and good family time. We could not have chosen better!!! Casa 22 is one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. The quality of the room, its size, the equipment in the room, the location of the hotel (5 minute walk to Sosua beach), the swimming pool, the water treatment system allowing guests to drink water from the tap without any issue, etc. Everything was better than expected. It started with the E-mail sent to us just after confirming the booking online, to ask us some details about ourselves, our food preferences and allergies and our dressing gowns size (I never experienced that before). At arrival time, we were welcomed by Saskia and Marc who gave us a very warm welcome and have paid attention to every small details during our entire stay to make sure that we were happy. The small size of the hotel made it very pleasant as we have had the feeling to be very special guests during our all stay. Every day, we combined visits to the beach and stays at the swimming pool that we almost had to ourselves every time. In addition to being very efficient, the cleaning staff made a point to fold our towels every day in a new creative way with special characters appearing every day on our 6 year old son's bed which made him smile every time we cam back to the room. On top of that, the restaurant (Casa 21) managed by Saskia and Marc and accessible directly from the hotel is a very high standard restaurant for lunch and dinners. And the breakfasts served in this same restaurant are of equal quality with fresh fruits and juices every morning. All in all, we could not find any flow in our one week stay in Casa 22 and we hope we will have the chance to stay there again. I can not recommend enough this hotel. A big thank you to Saskia and Marc, you made our holidays.
This place is perfect if you want to be close to the beach and away from the nightlife. We stayed here for a week. Unfortunately the spa has not opened yet. I would rate this establishment four stars once the spa opens up. Beautiful gardens and pool area. The Royal suit was nice, it could use some black out curtains for sure. The jacuzzi was cool, if you are into that. The staff was warm and welcoming. No complaints whatsoever. We even fried our Wii powers supply on our first night, and the owner of Casa 21 lent us hers for the duration of our stay. Talk about personal service. I would highly recommend the Belgian pancakes for breakfast. Thank you Mark
Your experience at Casa-22 will exceed all and any expectations you may have about a perfect getaway! From luxurious amenities to personalized service, everything in this secluded boutique hotel was designed to create memories of a lifetime! The hotel is located 5 minutes away from the public beach and 10 minutes away from the main area of Sosua where you can find banks, bars, shops and local restaurants. Although, you may never want to dine anywhere else but in Casa Veintiuno restaurant owned and operated by the loveliest and most hospitable hosts, Saskia and Marc! The restaurant deserves a separate review, but it is worth to mention that it is located on the property of the hotel and serves breakfast to all guests of Casa-22. Excellence all around!
We had a pleasant stay in the Cocoon suite of Casa 22. A suite it really is: a large room with a very good kingsize bed, a great terrace with a view on the beautiful garden and large swimming pool. We liked the experience of the double shower. The beautiful beach of Sosua is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Casa 22 is located a 20 minutes drive from the airport of Puerto Plata. From Casa 22 we visited the beautiful neighbourhood of Sosua: Puerto Plata, Cabarete, the beautiful beaches of Samara, ... .This hotel offers a good mix when you want to relax and enjoy the country. We can also recommend the massage in the garden patio. When sitting next to the swimming pool you can order one of the delicious cocktails made by David. A delicious breakfast is served in Casa 21 and you surely have to go there for a dinner as well. We loved our stay and we will come back !
We have previously stayed at Casa Veintiuno (right next door) and are absolute fans of what the owners Saskia and Mark have created, so when we heard about Casa 22 and that they would be the administrators we had to go. Let us say it was for us the most relaxing vacation we have taken. It was wonderful. First off the design is stunning, but at the same time serene and relaxing. The pool area for us was our favorite. Just laying there enjoying the beautiful gardens, listening to light music, sipping on an expertly made cocktail was amazing. The rooms were terrific. We booked the Cocoon suite because we were drawn to the relaxing decor and the fact it had a wrap around balcony, I loved curling up on the chairs provided reading just taking in the surroundings. The beds were very comfortable, and towels, sheets, and bathrobes were of top notch quality. The two housekeepers kept the whole place absolutely spotless! Breakfast is included in the price and served at Casa 21 which is right next door, but you don't have to leave the property to access it you just go through a connecting side gate. It is simply wonderful. Fresh tropical fruit juice, fresh fruit, fresh pasteries, cheese, sliced meats, and anything else you might want just ask for. On our last day we had delicious Belgian crepes. :) Lunch is also available to guests of Casa Veintiuno or Casa 22 and was equally yummy. Dinner is more than yummy, but I've left a separate review for that. We actually ate there most of our trip, and the prices are so reasonable our stay with food and drink was WAY cheaper than the higher end all inclusives and the food WAY better so for us it was a no brainer. We definitely choose quality over quantity anytime. Service and any needs or concerns are immediately attended by Saskia and Mark. They are amazing and quickly make it known they are there to serve. The location is ideal. It is a short 5-10 minute walk to the main beach in Sosua, and although some may feel this is a disadvantage it is NOT! it is a huge plus! The beach area can be quite loud and as Casa 22 is quietly tucked away just off the beach you basically get the best of both worlds. Although from the rooftop deck you can see the beach. It's also an easy walk to the grocery store for any extra goodies you may want to take home with you. You will not be disappointed by staying at Casa 22.
We just stayed for a week in this Luxury hotel. Our suite, the Garden suite offers all you need. Very quite, nice decorations and good sleeping comfort. It had no terras, but is located next to the pool and hotel bar. Given the fact that his not an all-in, crowded hotel, you always find a free seat. If you like, enjoy the sunset at the rooftop or with a Pina Colada at the pool bar. The friendly staff serves the best cocktails. At your request, you can get a relaxing massage in the garden massage area or at your room. The delicious restaurant of the hotel is hosted by Saskia and Marc. Saksia can also advice you on excellent alternative restaurants or give you tips for some Island watching. The best is to get a rent-a-car and go to the closest city Cabarete for some nice shopping, or consider a day trip for rafting, nice beaches or some canyoning.
I just stayed for one week at Case-22 in the Pool Suite. It has a design interior, just as the rest of the boutique hotel, a spacious open bathroom, double shower, nice LED screen and view at the pool. All brand new. Being not really a swimming champion, I could also really enjoy the pool. I has a jacuzzi sitting area, and a large undeep area (for me), while also real swimmers can enjoy it! The staff is super friendly & the food excellent. This new boutique hotel is absolutely top.
We have just spent a fabulous week in this new boutique hotel in Sosua. Their setting, approach, service, rooms, … everything is superb! All rooms are furnished very luxuriously, down to the last detail; king size beds, double sinks and double shower, separate toilet, large TV screen, modern look, etc. We stayed in the royal suite with its extra-large terrace with Jacuzzi, daybed and massage table. Take a swim in the beautiful pool, enjoy a great massage in the gazebo in the garden, have your cocktail in the open pool bar or at the roof top lounge while enjoying the amazing Caribbean sunsets... everything is possible! Breakfast, lunch en dinner can be enjoyed at next doors Casa 21. What a way to start or finish your day.
After reading the reviews, we chose Casa 22 for our stay in the Dominican Republic. The secluded property, off the beaten path on a private drive, only 15 minutes from Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata did not disappoint. The place is pure luxury with individual service from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. The staff led by Marc and Saskia pay attention to every detail down to the towel origami and beach bag ready to go. The well kept grounds boast two pools and a restaurant that is by far the best in the area. On the staff recommendation we took a day excursion to Cabarete Beach to watch kite surfing and get some sun and anther day a boat ride to a secluded private beach for a traditional Caribbean lunch with lobster, fish and rum drinks in coconuts and pineapples. Both recommendations were spot on perfect . The immaculate property has modern oversized suites with European luxury bathrooms that are comfortable and elegant. We highly recommend this place for families or couples who prefer privacy over the massive all inclusive properties.
Casa 22 is a unique upscale property that offers superb service and attention to detail. The new pristine suites are stunning, as well as the outdoor common areas. Casa 22 is under the expert management of Saskia and Marc who are genuinely warm and sincere hosts, ensuring that you receive excellent service. There is a lovely restaurant also with fabulous fresh food and attentive service. We enjoyed a couples massage that was provided by the spa directly on site. We absolutely loved our stay at Casa 22 and we will undoubtedly return again. Thank you Saskia and Marc for an unforgettable holiday!
Casa-22 is absolutely magnificent! I had the pleasure of staying here in August 2016 and it has everything you could ask for. From the moment we arrived, we felt pampered and taken care of at this wonderful boutique bed&breakfast. Saskia and Marc, the hosts, are very friendly and the personalized service they offer never disappoints. Casa-22 will be your own Caribbean paradise during your stay. The garden is beautiful, spacious and very well maintained, as is the big swimming pool. If you want to get away from the stress of your daily life, lying at the pool in this beautiful setting will certainly help. The tranquil and relaxing atmosphere that can be found here will help you acquire that ‘perfect holiday feeling.’ The rooms (5 in total) are very spacious and everything is extremely well maintained. We got to see all the rooms when we stayed here and they all seemed perfect. Each of them is decorated in its own way, eying on the comfort of the guests: very comfortable beds, clean and big bathrooms, a nice private terrace and a lot of space to move around. It feels like a home away from home. Casa-22 also has a great location. 5 minute walk from the beach of Sosua and the city center. A little further is the town of Cabarete. It also has a beautiful beach where you can practice your wind- and kitesurfing. There are some very nice restaurants too, Saskia and Marc will happily suggest you where to go. Playa Encuentro , the place for bodysurfing is a 5 minute drive. The food is absolutely delicious. The breakfast has everything you can ask for and Saskia&Marc will make sure you have everything you desire. The freshly squeezed juice (pineapple, passion fruit…) with pistolets, fresh bread, yoghurt, granola, pancakes, scrambled/fried/… eggs and a collection of tasty fruit is everything you need for a perfect start of the day. Your dinner experience here at the lit pool will blow you away. Their chef prepares some of the best dishes I have had. To top it all off, there is a rooftop bar where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset with view of the ocean. And, they have their own Spa, ‘Imagine’. Absolutely worth a visit if you want to treat yourself with a nice massage or a pampering session. Conclusion: my visit here was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend this little piece of Caribbean paradise to everyone. Go off the beaten track and stay away from big hotels, but try this little diamond. I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.
