The place is sooo cool! I loved the set up with the loungers and access to the ocean. There was also water toys (paddle board/ boogie board/ snorkels) which were a bonus!

The access may be a bit challenging for some people- however once you are there it is worthwhile!

The views are amazing. The beach is at your feet and quiet. Almost like having a private beach. The difference between low and high tide is quite extreme (nothing to do with the hotel), bit it allows you to swim (or walk) in the shallow waters in front. The breakfast is simple, but sufficient. Dinner and lunch dito. Staying there for a longer period, might get boring re the menu options.

As expected on the cliffs around Uluwatu, the stairs are horrid. Once in the resort, you don't feel the need to go out. Again, nothing to do with the hotel, but just be aware that it can be a steep climb.

Amazing little room with beautiful ocean views, spent a good few hours on our balcony watching the world go by. Nice and quiet at night, lovely little escape.

Everything... Where to start. The view is 180 degrees of a breathing surfing ocean with every day spectacular sunsets. The staff and the place so cosy.

Not for the weak body as it requires going down lots of steps... And back up again...every time!

This holiday stay was exceptional! The staff were super friendly and accommodating, helping to arrange transfers to and from the airport. The food was delicious and breakfast always included a main with fruit and tea/coffee. The room we stayed in was beautiful and comfortable, and each day there were plenty of spaces to relax in the sun/shade. The property also has access to a private beach space which made the experience feel more relaxing and less touristy. I would 100% recommend this stay to all.

The only downside is the access to the property which requires a lot of stairs to go down and then back up to get to the Main Street - however, all the positives of the stay definitely make it worth the stairs!

We had a lovely chat with Natalia (manager), she made us feel so welcome and had some good recommendations. The stairs of doom! There is about 5 stories of status to get down and back up on this property. Worth the hike but there is a lot! Watch the monkeys they like phones and sunglasses.

Important to know that the stairs down and then back up can be quite challenging, staff will help bring your luggage up and down, but as a friend once said "the best stays are the hardest to get to" and boy is it worth it

This place is absolutely stunning. We couldn’t get enough of the beautiful views of the ocean and the beach. It’s a perfect place for peace and quiet or surfing. It’s tucked away from the busy loud streets of Uluwatu which has become a major construction site! The food in the hotel is homecooked style and delicious, especially the curries.

The room can use a bit of a touch up here and there. We had to hold the shower head in our hands while showering otherwise the whole room, including the bedroom (the bathroom wall has holes) would get wet. The drain of the sink was clogged and sitting on your balcony early in the morning is not peaceful because the monkeys will come to steal your stuff. Any food on the balcony is also not a good idea.

The ocean view villa was breathtaking. The team were so kind and I also had a massage there that was surreal and healing. Would stay again in a heart beat and will in the future.

It was a nice hotel with a beautiful view. It has a great location in the sense that its close to all the good spots but because of the 5 minute trek down the cliffs its still secluded enough to feel relaxed.

I do feel like its not as 'luxurious' as you would want for the price point. I personally paid 165 euros a night, and perhaps it's my western worldview, but for that type of money I do expect better amenities. The shower had rust stains on it and because the walls and floors are just wood it was very noisy and there were little bugs crawling throughout the room. But then again to be fair, you're in a secluded area near the cliff and the all wood design is part of the charm. I stayed in a different hotel as well which was was cheaper (30 euros a night for 2 people together, so 15 euros each) and the amenities were way way wayyyyy nicer.

I had the most wonderful stay at The Rock n Reef. I arrived late at night and the staff organised my transport from the airport all the way to my room seamlessly. When I woke in the morning, I was blown away by the location and the uninterrupted view of the ocean, watching the early morning surfers at Padang. literally from my bed. The breakfast, coffee and juice that was included in my stay was so good that I ate it everyday, I usually don't eat breakfast. The staff were really lovely and attentive. I surfed and snorkeled from my front door! The walk around to Padang on low tide was bonus, just pack your reef shoes. As advertised, there are steep stairs to get down to the accommodation so it may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. I enjoyed them, it was a daily dose of exercise with paradise at either end! I didn't want to leave and I will definitely be back. Cannot recommend enough for solo travelers or couples!

Our stay at Rock and Reef was incredible! The location is fantastic as you literally hang above the ocean and are a few steps from the beach. Once we were down at the hotel we didnt really want to go anywhere. Breakfast is included but we also stayed for in-house catering as it was lovely to chill on the terrace and enjoy the views. Having said that, we were close to all the must see and do activities in Uluwathu and just needed to climb the stairs to the top and catch a taxi or scooter. The staff are wonderful and our room was lovely. The most wonderful stay!

The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help. The food was delicious, and we truly enjoyed our stay.

The only minor drawback was the access to the property. The walk through the forest is a bit adventurous, with a narrow path and several steps, but once you arrive, it’s absolutely worth it.

Rock n Reef is in a superb location and the staff are amazing!

The Staff were really nice.The location is amazing. There is a small shallow reef in the front of the villa. The surf behind the reef looked consistent. The wave rolled for a long time.

The place is not up to European or USA safety standards. All this means is be aware of your surroundings and don't expect hand rails everywhere.

The view is absolutely amazing! Staff are very friendly and room was lovely!

Beach Villa war super gemütlich. Blick auf Strand und Meer einfach herrlich. Die Lady‘s von der Küche kochen hervorragend und bei der Kulisse schmeckt sowieso alles doppelt so gut. Um überhaupt hinzukommen 100 steile Stufen abwärts. Man sollte gut zu Fuß sein. Scooter empfehlenswert weil Ortszentrum 2 km entfernt.

If you're looking for a hotel with an unobstructed view of the ocean with easy access, look no further - the location of this place is amazing. The descent via the steps can be quite taxing, although we found that it was usually dramatised by other reviews. The hotel also offers a pool table, plunge pool and various sea bits, like snorkels and surf boards for free. Natalia brings a wholesome energy to the place. It was clear to us that she loved it there, and wanted to make people feel at home. We had come from pricier hotels, and yes, while they were nicer, they didn't necessarily have the charm of the Rock'n'Reef

We stayed in 2 different rooms during the stay because we wanted to experience another room which was unavailable for part of our stay. I would say that the first room we were in definitely wasn't as nice - although it had great features, I felt that the higher priced rooms received more TLC. It had a few small holes in the bathroom to outside, which looked really nice - but we did have a gecko sing us to sleep every night. Additionally, the aircon in the rooms could be better, it's not going to ruin your nights sleep, but for us, noticeably warm.

Персонал помогает с багажом, так как дорога до места размещения не из простых, в особенности это важно, когда ты уже в чистой одежде направляешься в аэропорт. Считаем, что это великолепное место, чтобы усилить впечатления от посещения Бали перед вылетов и обязательно берите минимум парочку дней, 1-дневное размещение точно будет недостаточным.

Пожалуй единственное, что хотелось бы улучшить - это парковку для байков, она очень пыльная, неорганизованная и с огромными камнями, в общем несколько дискомфортно на ней. В части дороги что либо улучшить врядли возможно, просто это необходимо иметь в виду, до места размещения необходимо будет преодолеть крутую лестницу, в общем если вы не уверены в своих силах, даже без багажа - этот вариант не для вас, и ключи от байка при таких раскладах лучше не забывать :) В остальном всё прекрасно.

Amazing view from my room, stunning location, perfect for surfers

Very difficult and inconvenient to get to, felt quite isolated from the rest of Uluwatu. no kettle or tea/ coffee in the room, no TV, bathroom has a weird smell. Pool was not a pool. Lack of sun loungers. The beach is not a beach, barely any sand and lots of rocks. tide comes up too high and not safe for swimming. Wouldn’t recommend for kids.

The on-site staff was amazing! Very helpful and cooperative. The food was amazing too.

Ants in the bed. We found them every morning. Little pieces of wood falling off too from the ceiling (probably termite damage). Also, lot of stairs to enter and exit the hotel. Entering is ok because you’re climbing down, but exiting is hard. You’ll pretty much want to plan your days in such a way that you don’t have to leave the hotel twice (we didn’t like that).

L'accueil a été exceptionnel du début à la fin : toute l'équipe est souriante, disponible et aux petits soins pour les clients. La vue sur la mer est tout simplement magnifique et apporte une véritable sensation de dépaysement. La chambre était impeccable, parfaitement propre et très bien entretenue. Rien à redire sur le confort et la qualité des installations. Concernant la restauration, le petit-déjeuner était varié, copieux et composé de produits de qualité. Les dîners étaient également excellents, avec de très bons plats et un service irréprochable. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe pour ce séjour mémorable. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

The location is unbeatable. Small private beaches with access to Padang Padang on low tide. Surf and snorkeling at your doorstep. Great staff, clean rooms and delicious food. Although the stairs are steep, it is so worth it for the location and views.

Location was incredible and the food was great. The service from the staff was also fantastic

No kettle in the room or facilities for us to make our own tea and coffee. It was also very hard to find shade outside of our room in the afternoon. The bed was very hard too. The phone when we arrived did not work and it was confusing how to get down to the resort.

The view from our room was marvellous, the staff and the breakfast was very good, it has basically private beach :) we stayed for 1 night and it was very relaxing but wouldn’t stay here for too long

The route to the hotel is not very nice and the electricity was off for a few hours and there is nothing nearby so prepare to order food there or via app :) Definitely not 4 star hotel that is why 8/10

Uitzicht was fenomenaal. De trappen en weg ernaar was voor ons te zwaar. Verder was de kamer helemaal niet geïsoleerd. Veel dieren en muggen. Prijskwaliteit verhouding was zeer slecht. Enkel voor surfers is het een voordeel dat strand aan je voeten is. Het hotel was ook zeker niet proper. Personeel is vriendelijk en helpen met zware koffers op de trappen.
