Best Western Hotel Blumarea

We stayed as a family of four (two adults, a three-year-old and a one-year-old) in late October. The staff were excellent from the start – friendly, responsive and very helpful in arranging our taxi from Olbia Airport (€210) and ensuring our rooms were next to each other. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was great with plenty of choice and alternative milks available. However, the main reason we booked this hotel was the “heated” pool, which unfortunately was not heated at all during our stay. The location is also a bit misleading – it’s in Lu Bagnu, not Castelsardo town. In October it was very quiet with few restaurants open, and walking to Castelsardo isn’t safe as the path stops halfway and the busy narrow road has no pavement. We relied on taxis: €20 each way to Castelsardo, €50 each way to Porto Torres, and €180 to Olbia (we booked the return transfer ourselves).Buses are available, unfortunately not at the times we needed them for the above journeys, but we used a bus for a day trip to Sassari (I think it was just €2 each way for the adults and the children were free, and we used a bus from Olbia to Olbia airport which was €1 each and the baby was free. The people were wonderful though – both hotel staff and locals were so warm and kind, especially with our kids. We had a lovely holiday overall, but next time we’d stay closer to Castelsardo town or hire a car.

Our room, the shower runs hot then cold, the temperature didn't remain constant for the 2 weeks we were there. The room attendant was excellent and did excellent work, thank you 😊 The swimming pool was dirty, it had a constant dirt ring running all the way around it. We asked for the manager to address this, it never happened. You wouldn't give a guest a room with a dirty bath, so why would you do this with a swimming pool? Very disappointing 😞 We never saw the pool attendant taking samples from the pool either to check the water quality. On our last day i had to tell the pool attendant to unblock the lower pool beacuse it had fully blocked with leaves and was overflowing onto the sunbed area, making it very slippery and dangerous to walk on. The pool attendant just sat on his phone. The pool is awkward to get into and out of if you are disabled. The step on the far side side is too deep.

Cleanliness of room and public areas was great but we felt the swimming pool needed attention here and there. Check in and check out staff very friendly and helpful however when I explained a problem with the creamer in my room, the reception lady advised me to go to the pool bar (quite a walk and inconvenient) as she couldn’t help. The welcome drink was a lovely touch. There were free parking bays just outside the hotel which was great. The room (we paid for a sea view) was a great size and there were plenty of sockets and amenities such as a kettle and a fridge. The hotel is just across from a beach although we didn’t go there as it was raining. There were restaurants nearby with takeaway options. Be mindful that even though this is a lovely hotel, it is about a 15 minute drive into Castelsardo.

Sehr angenehmes Hotel . Sehr freundliche Rezeption. Gute Ausgangslage für die Erkundung des Westens von Sardinien

MUY BIEN

We received a warm welcome. The hotel is bright and modern. Our room is very clean and comfortable. The beach is a few minutes walk away and Castelsardo just a few minutes drive or bus away.

Great hotel and great staff. Amazing breakfast

H Hotel muy bien ubicado, moderno y agradable. El desayuno excelente. Lo recomiendo 100 × 100

Receptionist was lovely, all staff were very friendly. Great breakfast and lovely to have a free welcome drink. Enjoyed exploring Castelsardo. The pizzas across the road were excellent!

Amazing hotel with great, friendly, helpful staff. Very clean with lovely breakfast, highly recommended,Absolutely nothing wrong about this hotel, great pool, with bar, everything you need in one place, definitely coming back in the future the best time of my life❤️

My friend and I had a problem with the hire car which we picked up from Olbia airport. We had an incident on a previous day before arrival at this hotel. Marina, the receptionist, went above and beyond helping us with obtaining a quote for the damage. We are most grateful.

A

Excellent service and friendly staff

Lovely pleasant staff, enjoyable breakfast, close proximity to the beach and places to eat. Very clean

Great Hotel, amazing staff. Close to the beach. Limited number of restaurants nearby but good food. Hard beds. Very good breakfast.

Totaal plaatje erg goed

The Staff were very attentive

Schönes Hotel in Meernähe mit Pool. Super freundliches Personal in allen Bereichen. Hervorragendes Frühstücksbuffet.

Beautiful hotel, well managed, excellent & friendly staff, superbly clean and good location. Restaurant options very close. Wish w e had stayed more than our 3 nights.

Just wanted to say how impressed we were with the staff, especially at reception where everyone was extremely helpful and super friendly. A big thank you to Giulia and Ariana. It helped to make our holiday special.

Quiet and cozy hotel near beach and restaurants

Hotel was lovely and clean with friendly staff. We did have a broken mug in our room which was quickly replaced but it was nice to have a kettle to make a drink anyway (a rarity it seems!). There was no English tv despite the hotel reception saying there was, but that was a minor issue. They sent a man to our room to try and fix it but he couldn’t which wasn’t too much of an issue. We were only there for 2 nights. Castelsardo itself was lovely. The hotel was a short drive away from there but there wasn’t a lot else around the hotel. The breakfast was lovely in a big airy room with lots of choices. Not much parking outside the hotel but people seemed to park down the street opposite if it was full. We didn’t use the pool but it all looked ok. One thing that was an issue for us (and not sure if this is just where our room happened to be located) but you could hear the guests using their toilet next door!!! And them flushing it woke us up in the night!

Very nice property with the kindest most helpful staff. Buffet breakfast great and pool wonderful. Rode the bus right from the hotel up to the historic town. Had a lovely lunch at the old town.

Great hotel, great breakfast, friendly staff, beautiful swimming beach across the road. The pool is amazing, with a bar. The only thing that I didn't like was the size of the bathroom. It was tiny, but the other couple we were with had a one that was a little bigger. They also don't do dinner or lunch, but it didn't matter to us as there are so many places around to eat. The pizzeria across the road is great

Everything was great. They dont do lunch or dinner there just pre-packaged rolls, which didn't bother us as we like to eat out. Breakfast was plentiful. Only thing that i didnt like was the size of the bathroom in our room. We noticed that the other couple we were with had a bigger one. So if you dont like tiny i would request a big bathroom

A very nice and clean hotel overall. Positive: 1. Staff at reception is great and very helpful 2. Hotel is very clean and well kept. 3. Nice pool with plenty of sunbeds. 4. Staff that work at pool bar is great. 5. Breakfast is great. 6. Our room was great ( besides we didn’t have any big balcony) Negative: 1. Could perhaps be more smiling staff at breakfast. 2. Sometimes it takes “long” time for the buffet to be re filled. 3. Pool could be cleaned not often.

Staff are very friendly and helpful!!

Very good hotel. Well located near the beach and a bus ride from castelsardo, which is a beautiful town. The Roos are sparse but clean and reasonably comfortable. The highlight of the hotel is the very friendly service. Overall reasonable value for the money
