Maison Gorey Hotel

Das Hotel liegt angenehm ruhig in einer Parallelstraße zur Hauptstraße, gute Busverbindungen zur Hauptstadt St. Helier, 5 Minuten Fußweg zum langen Sandstrand und ca. 15 Minuten Fußweg auf einer schön angelegten Promenade zu Hafen und Burg. Sehr freundliches Personal, sauberes Zimmer und umfangreiches Frühstück. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr praktisch: es gibt im Hotel auch einen mit Besteck und Geschirr ausgestatteten Aufenthaltsraum, in dem man mitgebrachte Speisen essen und aufwärmen kann (guter "fish and chips" Laden in der Nähe).

We travel extensively and this hotel was very standard in the low/mid range cost - all the hotel prices in Jersey are high compared to the comfort, amenities, facilities, value you receive. Saying all that our stay was fine, the room was quiet, good shower. Gorey itself is lovely and has good choices for coffee, lunch, dinner.

Breakfast was ok, nothing to recommend. Past reviewers stated you could ask for poached eggs but when we did we were told NO. Not more than 20 minutes later poached eggs were brought to the couple at the table next to us - obviously some customers are more special than others 😜

The location was excellent for restaurants, the beach, the castle and the bus stop. The breakfast was amazing.

Very personal service, i have stayed here many times and its very comfortable. The bus route is great, always first on the route into St Hellier. Great fish n chip shop ENTWHISTLEs on the doorstep and lovely walks.

Hotel needed updating. No lift. Had to struggle up stairs with cases.We're in our late 70's so very difficult. Room on small side. Bed on small side for us as we're used to king size.Only knew about hotel lounge on last day as we weren't informed of this. Hotel run by foreign staff so very little communication.

Frühstück war British ok, mir fehlte Abwechslung, Käse und anderes Brot außer Toast und Croissant Matratze spürte man die Federn

Hotellet ligger på en lugn gata med bara 3 min promenad till en stor fin sandstrand. Det finns en matbutik och flera restauranger på gatan. Bra om man inte vill ta bil eller buss till en större ort för att äta. Frukosten är typisk Engelsk med toast och flingor, men det finns även yoghurt och fruktsallad och varma rätter.

Bättre påfyllning av duschkrämen och grönt te.

Facilities and staff were very good, bed was a bit too firm for me but all in all, excellent stay. Located a short walk from a beautiful beach. Limited parking in front of the Hotel but free parking nearby.

Good sized room with a very good sized bathroom. Minibar with a free bottle of water was very welcome. Everything was clean. Waiting staff all working very hard & very polite & helpful. Bed was a nice size & comfy. Good buffet breakfast. Great location with good bus route into town. Beach 5 minute walk away. Village itself had lovely restaurants & coffee shops.

Wifi intermittent & so not easy to hold a meeting. Needed WIFI to get more than bog standard tv so that was a little disappointing. If you wanted just a continental breakfast it could do with being more imaginative.

Petit déjeuner simple mais des croissants délicieux, et pour les amateurs de petits déjeuners anglais, il y a tout ce qu'il faut. Un personnel très sympathique. Nous reviendrons sans hésitation !

Tous les jours, à 7h40, le bruit de la cheminée (hotte ?) juste à côté de notre fenêtre qui nous réveille si on dort. On entend bien les voisins. Prévoir des bouchons d'oreilles 😉 Ça n'a pas gâché notre séjour pour autant.

The Maison Gorey hotel is a quite elegant 1930s style hotel situated in Gorey village, five minutes walk from the Route 1 bus stop to St. Helier and fifteen minutes walk to Gorey Pier and Mont Orgueil castle. Gorey is the jewel in the crown of Jersey with its long golden sandy beach, picturesque harbour and picture postcard medieval castle overlooking the harbour and beach with wonderful views of both. I stayed for a week in Room 209 on the second/top floor. The room was spacious with a huge, very comfortable double bed and a private en-suite bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. No lift. Daily housekeeping. The room was very clean, well decorated and well furnished. There was a pleasant view out the back, a fridge and plenty of plug sockets. All the rooms have breakfast included in the price, which runs from 8am - 9.30am. There is a choice of a fully cooked English breakfast or a continental breakfast, plus cereals, yoghurt, fruit cocktail, fruit and tea/coffee/juices to drink. The breakfast is cooked to a high standard by the resident chef, especially the fresh croissants and pain au chocolats. For other food needs, there is a Morrisons Daily five minutes walk around the corner in the village, but beware the rude and aggressive shopkeeper in Morrisons.

1 Reception is only properly staffed between 2.30pm and 8pm. The manager is rarely to be seen. This means there is no proper system for checking out in the morning. 2 The continental breakfast has deliciously fresh pastries, but no bread rolls. The only bread available is toast. My idea of a continental breakfast includes rolls and jam.

I like the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. My favorite part and person was Nelia, one of the hotel staff. She is an angel in human form. During my vacation, my friend fell very sick and Nelia was super helpful in taking care of us. I also like that the hotel is a short walking distance from Gorey Pier where the Gorey Fete 2026 held during our stay.

I wish the building had an elevator. It was exhausting having to climb several flights of stairs to get to the room. The breakfast spread was the same everyday, which got boring after day two. There should be more options and variety.

Zentrale Lage, alles in Reichweite. Strand nur kurzer Weg über die Hauptstraße (ca. 200 m). Einkaufsmöglichkeit 50 m entfernt. Bushaltestelle in der Nähe. Restaurants fussläufig zu erreichen. Personal sehr freundlich. Zimmer sehr sauber.

Zimmer war sehr heiß im zweiten Stock. Frühstück jeden Tag gleich, bei längerem Aufenthalt fehlt die Abwechslung. WLAN immer wieder mit keiner Verbindung.

Sehr geringe Frühstücksauswahl. Es wäre gut auch Honig und Käse anzubieten.

L'hôtel est très bien situé à Gorey (mon endroit préféré de l'île). Tout près de la plage, du château, des restaurants. Le personnel est adorable, le lieu est un véritable havre de paix, le petit déjeuner est complet et savoureux. Il est très facile de se rendre en bus à Saint Helier. La chambre est impeccable, lumineuse, agréable et la salle de bain est très fonctionnelle aussi. Et alors le petit frigo dans la chambre... + la possibilité de faire chauffer au micro-ondes dans une salle en bas... C'était la cerise sur le gâteau. Nous garderons un merveilleux souvenir de notre séjour.

As soon as we arrived we got a lovely warm welcome. the dining room staff were on the ball with everything that was happening. lovely spacious twin room with a bath which my wife loved. Parking was no issue even though I was on a motorcycle. Towards the end of our stay our ferry company cancelled our return crossing,so the manager let us stay an extra night (with a very reasonable fee) so we were very grateful for his help on that matter. Overall a lovely hotel in a beautiful area of jersey, definitely making a return.

A reggeli nem volt változatos, de finom volt. Busz a közelben kb. 3 perc sétára.

Kilátás egy lapos tetőre kiábrándító volt. Lépcsők elég meredekek voltak, nagyon kellett figyelni, lift nincs. A szoba felszereltsége nagyon alap volt, kis dolgok, de nem volt toll, jegyzetfüzet, fotel, papírzsebkendő, minibár. Nem volt légkondi, csak egy ablak volt nyitható, de egész délután odatűzött a nap, így a szoba nagyon felmelegedett. Volt ugyan egy ventillátor, de nem működött rendesen. A tisztaság elfogadható volt, de nem tökéletes. A Wifi sokszor nem működött. Ha elfogyott a szappan, tusfürdő, sampon, nem kaptunk újat 4 napig. Minden ajtó nehezen nyílt, erős rugókkal visszacsapódott és csak kulccsal volt használható, a kilinccsel nem, nem lehetett rajtuk kényelmesen közlekedni.

Clean hotel and room, good breakfast with amazing coffee, friendly staff and some parking out front which was very handy, and nearby free parking when it was full. Plenty of teabags and milk which is increasingly unusual in hotel rooms these days, so that little touch was much appreciated. Very short walk to some handy shops and eating places, and also to a sandy beach.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Good choice for breakfast. My only advice would be to also have some 'natural' plain full fat yogurt on offer as well as the fruit yogurts. Cooked breakfast was well done and ample. It was great to have the option of heating something up in the canteen if you had already dined out for lunch. Crockery, knives and forks were placed in a washing up bowl to be collected and washed.

We had a lovely welcome and were escorted to our large ensuite bedroom. Everything was clean and tidy with tea,coffee and water topped up during our room service each day. Lovely breakfast buffet with hot and cold options. No lunch or dinner service but a large lounge to enjoy the big communal tv and the opportunity to use kitchen facilities if you wanted to bring your own food or get a take away. Such a nice touch. It was very warm during our stay but able to open bedroom windows wide and a fan provided the room. We would definately recommend and stay again. Highly advise the bus pass option for the island as plenty of stops nearby and very frequent Thank you

A nice building in a beautiful village. Room was spacious and well appointed. There were additional rooms in the hotel you could use. A lounge area and a dining area.

belliggende i stille kvarter uden støj, 3-400 m . til super sandstrand- købmand, restauranter inden for 200meter nede ad gaden- 1km smuk strandpromenadeog så rammer man havnen med restauranter og ikke mindst Mont Orgueil Castle ( som er "et must" at besøge)- lille fredfyldt by . Bus hver 15. min. til St. Helier og der er et fantastisk bus-netværk til hele øen og de smukke smalle veje , så drop lejebil og tag bussen

Morgenmaden er meget britisk (beans, bacon, pølser,spejlæg , røræg samt toastbrød) intet pålæg eller ost, elle frisk brød

De Britse uitstraling heeft charme. Kleinschalig heeft ons voorkeur op massatoerisme. Het personeel is vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is wat je mag verwachten. De kamer is niet groot, maar in orde en schoon. De badkamer is wel ruim.

Weinig parkeergelegenheid voor hotel. Daarvoor uitwijken naar parkeerplek aan doorgaande weg. Tijdens zaterdagmarkt erg druk bezet. Hier waarschijnlijk schade opgelopen aan auto. De veroorzaker heeft geen briefje achtergelaten.

Room was well appointed. Clean, good size, excellent shower with hot water, comfortable bed. Decent selection at breakfast, hot and cold items, though perhaps a little more thought for gluten-free guests.

WiFi and television reception were patchy in our top floor room. This room was also exceedingly hot - admittedly in a heat wave - with limited window opening, though the fan provided did help.

It has everything you need. It’s clean and humble and nicely laid out. The bathrooms are really clean with fresh tiles and nice amenities. It’s in a beautiful, small village five minutes walk from the beach.

Sometimes some of the guests listen to their TVs too loud, and I can hear it through my window.

Location was exellent, quiet but good selection of restaurants, cafes and essential shopping all nearby, as was the beach. A further 10 to 15 minutes walk away, the Gorey harbour area had further eateries and bars, all overlooked by the impressive Mount Orguiel Castle. While still only 10 minutes drive into St. Helier. Room was good size although starting to show its age, for example the window blinds were damaged and need replacing and the curtains were far too heavy for summer weather. Fridge, strangely located in the wardrobe, was a little noisy, as were the floorboards! The bathroom was large, had been refurbished recently and was clean. Only issue was the blinds (see above). Excellent guest lounge with large TV and comfortable chairs. Staff generally friendly and helpful. During our stay the bed in our room was not made for a couple of days, we had straightened the bedding but it was easy to see it hadn't been made. Breakfast was fine, the english self serve buffet breakfast was good; the croissansts and pain au chocolates were very good; coffee was plentiful and very good; only the cereals were disappointing, all from a major brand name with too much sugar.

Great location very close to wonderful beach, very warm welcome from the all team . Rooms are nice and clean. Comfy beds, decent shower. Lovely breakfast, even facilities to heat up takeaways if you don’t fancy eating out all the time and a dining room to eat them in. There is a small roof terrace to enjoy a pre dinner drink or sundowner. (Wine bought from Morrisons practically next door ) Easy walk along prom to bars and restaurants along with local shops and eateries right by the hotel. All in all a lovely place to stay and would highly recommend.

The location in Gorey is very good; Gorey itself is lovely and the transport links to the rest of the island are excellent. The rooms are well appointed and clean, with super ensuite facilities. The staff are very friendly and hard-working, especially at breakfast time. The buffet breakfast is very good.

Air conditioning would be nice as the rooms do get warm, but there is a fan which does help. The mattress in room 208 is ready for replacement as it sags a little on one side, but was still comfortable enough.

Poor WiFi Being on the second floor in our late 60s so many stairs to climb. Not being received when we arrived only saw a chef fill in. Never saw a receptionist in the 5 days there.

Das Hotel lag in Strandnähe, keine 5 Minuten zu Fuß. In der unmittelbaren Umgebung war ein Lebensmittelgeschäft und ein kleines Restaurant, zum Pub war man etwas länger zu Fuß unterwegs. Da Frühstück war typisch englisch, könnte aber abwechslungsreicher sein. Die Zimmer waren sauber, aber bei Hitze staut sich die Wärme und der Ventilator funktionierte nicht wirklich.

Es gab Frühstück erst ab 8 Uhr, was eigentlich kein Problem ist, aber am Abreisetag gab es nicht die Möglichkeit etwas früher zu frühstücken. Wir wurden auf den Wasserkocher im Zimmer verwiesen, wenn wir vorher noch einen Kaffee trinken wollten.😳 Da wir zur Zeit einer Hitzewelle auf Jersey waren, wäre es gut gewesen, wenn der Ventilator vernünftig funktioniert hätte. Jedoch konnten wir bei der Ankunft, das Zimmer, das wir hätten beziehen sollen, ohne Probleme wechseln, denn dort wäre es auch mit funktionierendem Ventilator zu heiß gewesen.
