Provider-sourced guest reviews.
I wish I had seen the reviews before I booked. The location was great, the accommodations not so great. The San Marino Room was small - broken safe, the side table was broken. Even though they asked the time of our arrival there was no one at the desk. Why ask if you aren't going to have anyone. I would not recommend this place. No water or wine/proseco was provided as advertised.
Nice room with clean and good shared bath. No problem. Big stairs to get to third floor. I praise I didnt have a suitcase. Check in via WhatsApp took like 30 minutes.
Dirty room. The garbage wasn’t taken out and there were bad odors in the bedroom and bathroom. They also had zero toilet paper and the sink was dirty. The bed was hard as a rock as well. The residence was on the fifth floor with no elevator which was not shared in the listing. Additionally, took a long time to communicate and receive the virtual key. Do not recommend.
We would never have booked this accommodation had we known the reality. The so-called ‘San Marino’ room is basically a converted storeroom: no chair, no table, broken mini safe, dirty walls, and a tiny window four meters up – no chance of daylight or proper ventilation at night. For €150 per night this is absolutely unacceptable. Arrival at 16:15 – no reception, no one on site. The phone number didn’t work, only WhatsApp contact was possible. Only after messaging did we receive the access code. Buried in the small print on Check24 (discovered afterwards) it says you have to request the code. But really – why not send it proactively in advance? The location is good – but that’s the only positive thing to report. Contrary to the description, there was no Prosecco, no wine, no water in the room. No staff spoke English or Spanish. The only person around was a breakfast worker, who spoke only Italian and was responsible solely for breakfast. All in all: worse than a prison cell, and certainly not what was advertised.
Great location and nice room. Great communication from agents
Excelent staff!!!! Very cheerful and allways very helpful and super nice!
I have lodged at this property few years ago, different management. Here the reasons for my low score. THE GOOD The guy at the reception, nice and kind, his English good (my wife cannot speak Italian) - I feel sorry for him Breakfast is more than fair for such a simple B&B Location is perfect THE BAD The reception is open only few hours in the afternoon Third floor without lift (no problem for us, but it may be for elders and folks with small kids, especially during Summer) - not absolutely bad, but it should be considered, I would not go May to September. THE UGLY A message asking for early check in and luggage storage sent at 11 PM was answered at 1 PM of the following day. No assistance in case of need. The A/C was off (it should be written on the listing - if a guest wants to use A/C even in March, it's what he pays for) They gave us a different room, worse than the one we asked and booked for. The guy at the reception understood the point, and he was VERY helpful, at least he tried his best to understand what happened. Unfortunately our room was sold to someone else. Thus, he phoned to his boss, and things went ugly, for me. The volume was high, I did listen to the whole phone call, and I'm native speaker. The boss told that it's a booking.com, thus, if I wanted a better room, I should have paid for the difference (changing rooms on the second night, because of availability). Also, we were free to leave, but they would not refund us in any case - we should have asked booking.com for refund. So, we kept our room, which was basic but cute, and not what we asked (also, only a skylight, no window, and smaller). I called booking.com, and they told me that they could not refund me, but the hotel can - in the contract it is written clearly that all extra requests are not guaranteed and must be asked to the property. Also, they told me that the booking was made through a partner, but the room was uploaded in the partner site by the property (or sold to the partner by the property already - logically speaking, if not sold directly by booking.com, who in the hell could have uploaded the property? If it were a fake upload, a scam, or it was not paid or to be paid, the hotel would not have given me the room at all). I do not think that the manager was willing to keep the money and not to give us the room, but I am sure that he is careless and rude - finally, if he put the same room in two systems, it may happen a "first come, only served" situation - and, if we left, we would have never seen the money back. FINALLY There are hundreds of options in Florence. My suggestion is to find a more reliable one. It's a shame, because it is in a good location, and the situation was pretty easy to solve by the property: give us a better room for two nights, because it was available, and we would have been happy to change it on night two. It is what serious managers do when the guests do not get what they paid for, no matter how much. Otherwise, a full refund on the spot. It is part of the basic service (even a working a/c should have been part of it).
Accoglienza davvero speciale e simpatica
Manager,Marcelo was disappointing and demanded an additional €1000, for a room with a bathroom in the room for a few days stay. Very disappointing information on the staircase being 5 stories high without ascensor/elevator.

Marcelo was great at meeting me to do check in; this is more like a private boutique /self check in hotel…. Real easy to access it and safe neighborhood…very spacious room only downfall is that there is no elevator and it’s on third floor…just FYI- but I was good exercise ;) Breakfast and service was fabulous… simple menu but great quality… I would stay there again!
The location is amazing. The price is decent. The staff is ok. The breakfast is not worth waking up for……
The lication is wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. To have an international b&b on the top floor without and elevator is a bit of an issue. Not all guests are 25 year old athletes haha. But over all. This place was charming. Just fix the ac unit.
Good location for the price. They provide breakfast from 8-10am. The staff was easy to reach and provided helpful information. Room was very small, only 1 skylight type window.
Everything was amazing. It is posted that there is no lift. 3 flights of stirs with cases is a challenge but we managed. Be prepared! Overall I’d give them a proper thumbs up.
Top
Nice place , good location. NO parking on-site ! $ 30 - $45 a night in the surrounding garages. Wi-Fi wasn’t working properly , lots of stairs to access the hotel if you have heavy luggage.
Rigtig fint lille hotel i flot gammel ejendom. Følte os taget tilbage i tiden, meget autentisk. Hyggelig lille morgenmads lokale.
Great location, very nice breakfast. Great room. Loved it
Great location, quiet because windows open towards enclosed courtyard but no views, four story walk up is tiring after hours of walking the city and not easy if you have a lot of luggage, rooms are large and clean with great showers with hot water and small fridge, AC works great which is a must in summer, this is a B&B so except for initial check in, no staff available.
Of all the accommodations I have stayed at in my life, this one was the worst. I am by no means one to complain, but it was awful. The door to our hotel room was lodged when we returned for the night around 10pm. Nobody would answer our calls for hours, there was nobody around, and the building had no cell service. We ended up stranded with nowhere to go, our bags were stuck in the room, and we had to find a hotel for the night. When we tried to inquire with the staff the next morning, they shrugged and said they wouldn’t help or refund us. Door issue aside, our room had no windows and was a major fire / safety hazard. It was also incredibly dirty. Overall 0/10. Would not recommend.
The room was good for being in an old building in old city, as long as you can actually get inside. We knew this property was not manned 24 hours. They give you an emergency number for off hours. THE STAFF DOES NOT PICK UP WHEN YOU CALL IN AN EMERGENCY SUCH AS BEING LOCKED OUT OF THE BUILDING. I had to climb over the front gate (aprx 9-10 feet tall) when the key fob stopped working and they wouldn’t answer despite calling every number they gave us for aprx. 3 hours. The staff member that was supposed to be monitoring the emergency number responsed the next day by telling me “I was sleeping”. I would NOT recommend this property.
Staff is excellent, extremely friendly and helpful and the location is perfect for sightseeing. The room is rather small but everything you need is here and clean. I would book it again.
From the moment we arrived, to the day we left, we felt so welcomed! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Keep in mind, this hotel is on the third floor with no elevator. The rooms are spacious, although showing their age. I felt that was fine as the building itself is historical. The shower is small- and I’m 5’7! Very clean and within walking distance of everything! The included continental breakfast was perfect before heading out to explore the city. We would definitely stay here again!
Great location. Steps to the Doumo. Parking garage directly across the street. 3 flights of stairs. Breakfast included
This was the perfect stay on our trip to Florence, the room itself was not only clean and spacious, but it was also beautiful and charming. An incredible location for exploring the city, through the recommendations from our outstanding host, Marcello.
Personale gentile e disponibile.
Spacious rooms. Breakfast was fresh and timely.
If you want to stay in a Rococo residence in the heart of historic Florence (5 min from the Duomo and from San Lorenzo and Cappelle Medicee), in a spacious room, with delicate allegories painted on its ceiling and with a charming view over back gardens, courtyards and hills - this is a perfect choice. Shoutout to Daniele and Adriana, perfect hosts going to great lengths to make travelers feel at home. It is important to note, however, that the B&B is located on the third floor and there is no elevator. There is also not a permanent receptionist but arrangements are made so one is not needed at all times. Quiet. Gated building.
Old, tired, shabby, smelly hotel. We stayed in a superior room which was looking much nicer on the website pictures. Musky smell everywhere. The bedspread wasn't clean..Tiny TV on the wall. However the room was spacious and our bed was comfortable . Very modest breakfast.
Lovely stay in the room with the fresco ceiling. Clean room and comfortable bed. Very quiet (including the fridge and the aircon). Only marked it down due to the bathroom handle being broken. Yes there are lots of stairs but worth the effort. Good breakfast which they kindly served early on the days that we had bookings to get to. Very friendly and helpful.
The property is very close to the main cathedral, downside is it is on the third floor and hard to access as there is no elevator so be mindful of this if you have heavy luggage, there are probably 300 steps. My room was not very functional, no hot water the first day and no water the last day. I had to contact the reception several times to fix the water or wifi. The wifi was never fixed. The staff also was really hard to communicate with as they speak little or no English. Also if you expect to get any Expedia gold perks you will be disappointed. I asked for my 12 EUR food credit on arrival and they initially said I would not pay city tax to compensate for this but that was not the case as they ended up charging this at the end. The table lamp of my room was broken and the air conditioning makes a loud noice all the time. The bed is uncomfortable. So in general it’s really hard to sleep like this. I bring up these issues at the end of my stay (to someone over the phone because the receptionist doesn’t speak English) and they did not offer apologies nor compensation.
Il personale era molto gentile e simpatico. Stanza tranquilla, molto bella.
The staff was very friendly and the location was not far from the main attractions. The only negative thing about the property were the flights of stairs you had to take to get to your room.
Molto bella la location stanza grande, silenziosa e letto comodo.
Pulizia, cortesia, vicinanza al centro. Colazione buonissima e abbondante
Very helpful staff, building was very beautiful, there is no elevator, you should stay!
Very good stay at Quattro Poetti. Very clean rooms with great decor including a fresco in the breakfast room. (Seems everyone in Florence is a painter) Stayed for 3 nights and no issues at all, no noise from the street and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful and replenished whatever time you arrived. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the centre of Florence. There is quite a few stairs to climb, which the hotel informs everyone about, as long as you don’t mind that it’s a great place!!
Location is perfect for all attractions. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. As advised by the hotel, there is no lift, so travel light for a perfect stay. Would recommend and would stay again.
Perfect place with very nice furnitures. Also very very clean . It is very near to everything and you can go to every “must” place in Florence by foot. If we will be back to Florence we will definitely choose it again .
Propre, personnel sympathique. Je le recommande.
The hotel room was lovely and clean and really spacious. However the beds were uncomfortable and you have to climb up 10 flights of stairs to get to the B and B. This is very hard especially with luggage so keep that in mind when booking.
Booked Quattro Poeti as stayed here in 2014 and loved it. Seems to have changed hands since then. 90 steps up to the hotel, no lift due to it being a historic building. We booked Quattro Poeti but got put into a room in Quinto Poeti which wasn’t anywhere near as nice as the room we stayed in before but still clean and comfortable. Not sure why that happened. I wasn’t thrilled to find, after walking around the city in 35degree heat, that there was no hot water so had to have a freezing cold shower! The boiler was fixed within 6 hours and it was a Sunday, so they were focussed on resolving the problem. However I was seriously unimpressed that whilst trying to resolve the issue, the duty manager decided to say he’d speak to my husband about the issue as he’s a man and would understand?!!? Seriously! Breakfast was fine, service was fine but I’m not sure I’d book again. Moral of the story, if you loved somewhere be wary of going back as you may be disappointed!
Very well located right near the Duomo, clean, comfortable, good a/c, loved the classic decor and painted ceiling in our room. Quiet. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Nearby parking garage. The only drawback is there is no elevator and 3 flights of stairs,
We liked the location and the helpful staff. The breakfast was more varied than during our last stay. Despite it's location in the centre, it was very quiet and peaceful. What we were not keen on was the quality of the room. It was quite small and very basic in terms of decoration and furniture. The bedside tables were so small that we could hardly put anything on them and had to have books etc on the floor. The quality of the room was a distinct contrast to the one we had stayed in during a previous visit. We also didn't like the fact that it had an external bathroom. This admittedly was my fault as I did not realise that i was booking such a room. The external bathroom was very narrow and not comfortable to use.
We had a great stay! It was a walk-up which we knew going into it and was doable (and helps work off the pasta!) The team was lovely and helpful and gave us great restaurant recommendations. We highly recommend paying for the hotel breakfast - we only did the last day and wish we had the whole stay. The only negative is the walls are pretty thin - we could hear every door opening and closing and full conversations from the room next door.
Excellent location. Staff most friendly and helpful, Breakfasts excellent Would recommend I Quattro Poeti
Florence is a stunning city. All the attractions are within walking distance. Beautiful food, shops and culture. This hotel was central and very welcoming with some great advice for visiting local restaurants.
The hotel is very close to everything, excellent service. The room was very clean, spacious, bathroom behind "hidden" door which was nice. We only spent one night but was a very nice experience! Would highly recommend!
Me and my friend went to Italy for Spring Break and it was an amazing decision. Not only is this B and B a really good deal it is also only two blocks from the Duomo. Everything is close by and the service was excellent. They provided great information about the local area.
I recently visited the Quattro Poeti. I Love it. They are very Nice and friendy. Allways with a smile. Marcel help us with all we need, explayning how can we get to the most amazing places and restaurants in Florence. Março is lado very helpfull. The hotel is very confortable and rooms are very beautiful. We are teatchers for a course in Euro-pass, just in the second floor.
staff friendliness, service, cleanliness, and location are the high features of this property.
Location is good. Hotel is good. Breakfast is good. Just keep in mind no elevator. If you have heavy luggage, good luck to you and your back. It’s on the 3rd floor. The workers helped us take it up but they don’t really want to. Overall our stay was great.
I recently spent 4 nights at the I Quattro Poeti B&B in Florence. The location of the B&B is really excellent, two minutes from the Duomo, less than 10 minutes to the Uffizi so really close to everything. The rooms are located on the 3rd floor of the building with no lift so a bit of a walk upstairs which can be hard with cases or after a long day of walking. However, the staff at the hotel will help with cases. When I arrived I was met by Marcel who was so welcoming and helpful. He provided a map and outlined the places to see and other relevant information. The room was a good size but unfortunately didn't have a real window which I found a bit disconcerting and the decor was a bit tired. The bathroom was modern and clean. The B&B does have a small balcony area which is available to use and this overlooks an inner courtyard. The breakfast was excellent and the lady serving was friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the fact that they put forward the breakfast times to accommodate my early schedule. This B&B is good value for money in an expensive city with an excellent location and lovely staff. Even with the stairs I would definitely stay here again. Florence is wonderful.
Really friendly and helpful staff. When we arrived we were given a map by the very friendly man on the front desk and ideas of where to visit. Hotel was in lovely Florentine style and we had a very nice traditionally decorated room with view towards the mountains and a 12th century ceiling painting. Was very quiet and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was lovely; a mix of hot and cold food. Location is fabulous, just five minute's walk to the Duomo and easy to access sights in the opposite direction just as San Marco and only about 20 mins' walk to main train station for day trips. All in all, a fabulous stay.
It is in an excellent location and has great service.
Great location! Lovely staff. Would stay there again and recommend it. Only slight negative was we had a private but external bathroom. We knew it going in though. So no fault to the B&B.
They allowed us to check in early since my husband was sick. Very helpful for finding places to eat and where to buy and not to buu souvenirs.
Beautiful room, the staff are great and really helpful - loved the location it is so close to everything but slightly back enough so that you find great places to eat that wouldn’t always find. Only thing I would mention is the stairs, it is clear on the booking that there is no lift but there are quite a few stairs - this just seems normal in Florence though!

This B&B was an amazing value for the price! It is located right in the center of Florence, less than 5 minutes away from the duomo. Considering the price and location, I was expecting it to be a low-quality room. To my surprise, the room was amazing. Each bedroom had a personal fan which was a great touch. Our bedroom had an incredible mural on the ceiling. We felt as though we were waking up every morning in the sistine chapel. The room was extremely spacious and clean. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone. It is such a hidden gem!
We only visited this B&B for one night but I truly wished we could have stayed longer! It was immaculate, the concierge greeted us and efficiently checked us in showing us to our room. He was very pleasant and asked us each time if we needed anything. He also gave us a map and highlighted the top places to visit. The room was spacious and beautiful with pretty furniture and a little quaint balcony. The bed was comfy, had air con and a TV, good shower + lovely fluffy white towels... The only thing I would mention is that there is no lift and its on the 3rd floor, so if you have large bags it is a bit of a struggle. Nonetheless it's still a lovely stay!
This B&B was so nice. It felt special to be staying in a 14th century building. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful. The surrounding area was really quiet at night also. The stairs are a hefty climb especially with bags, but you get your exercise every day 👍. I would definitely stay here again.
Place is beautiful and staff is amazing. My wife wasn’t feeling well the morning we were to check out. They let us have the room for a while longer and then let us use one of their other properties ( a short walk away) to rest and have bathroom access. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. If you ring the bell outside the building they will help you carry your luggage up the stairs
It was a very good choice for our needs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast with lots of choice. Only disappointment was that I would have liked a comfortable easy chair in the bedroom, as after a long day walking around the city it would have been nice to relax in a comfy chair.I feel there was plenty of room to accommodate One.
This hotel is beautiful and in the perfect location just round the corner from the main square. We stayed in Dante room and it was the perfect room, very clean, bed was comfy, shower was powerful and hot! Room size is very good and the ceiling is a massive bonus! I felt totally spoilt at how lovely the room was. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on that but it looked nice. Florence is one of my favourite cities I have visited, it’s stunning! All the main sights are within easy walking distance of the hotel. We had spent 3 nights in Rome before arriving in Florence and I preferred Florence so much more, it is a must visit and I would recommend this hotel over and over.
First off the location was in walking distance to everything. Then the room was lovely, nice size with a cute little balcony. Such a beautiful B&B the first part of our trip it’s going to be hard to top the rest of our time in Italy. Will definitely return!
Amazing location. Beautiful place with everything you need and extremely helpful staff.
We have just spent 5 nights here and have no fault with it at all. Having read other reviews it seems to depend on what room you get, but our room was spacious, with heating and an window you can open. A small toilet and shower en suite but just what you need. It is in an amazing building, very quiet and peaceful. The room was cleaned every day. We got there very late due to a very delayed flight but we kept the owner informed (as we were asked too) and he was there very late to check us in. No grumbles. That was appreciated. He also gave us a good map and lots of recommendations - including where to eat (with no catch). As for location - can't complain 20 - very central. We had breakfast - an extra E7.50 Euros - per person - again - lovely - fresh cornetti, coffee, juice, etc. It isn't staffed all the time that is true, I guess because it is so small. But again we used txts and it worked. Night/Day and they ordered a taxi for our departure. The only down side is that because it is in an old building it does not have a lift and you have to walk up the stairs - that is that. I am sure if you asked the owner they would meet you and help you with luggage etc.
We had a very nice time here. The room was very big and clean, nicely decorated and with a balcony. Teodora was very helpful, so we enjoyed our stay very much. Right in the centre of Firenze, so you can walk everywhere.
I have recently returned from Florence and stayed for 3 nights at this lovely B&B. Located within easy walking distance of all the main sites and the railway station. It is on the top floor of the building which was not a problem for me and my travel companion having to climb the stairs. The inside of the building is lovely and traditional with painted ceilings and murals on some walls. The accommodation was very clean and the breakfast was great, the staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you and take the time to explain places of interest and where to eat out at reasonable cost. We did try some of the recommended restaurants and were happy with the choices. We both agreed that if we were to return to Florence that we would not hesitate to stay at the Quattro Poeti again.
What a lovely experience. Hotel was lovely, clean and comfortable. In the perfect location to explore Florence. Teodora was amazing - always checking we were ok and giving us recommendations on where to go and what to eat. I would recommend anyone to stay here.
Me and my girlfriend spent there 3 days in low season. The apartment simply surprised us for its beauty. Some of them have original paintings on the ceiling which date back centuries. The building is an old and noble one, with huge and stunning stairs. The location is extremely central, right behind the world famous Duomo, though we couldn't see it from our window. Breakfast was okay. Service was kind and welcoming.
This was the first stop during my tour through Italy and still one of my favorite accommodations. Theodora was so helpful throughout my entire trip and even had someone come help late one night when I locked myself out. There is a small terrace that overlooked an inner courtyard that was relaxing and peaceful. The place is walking distance to all of the sights but doesn't feel touristy. I really enjoyed the location and would stay here again when I return to Florence. The breakfast is awesome, too. I highly recommend! Beware though, there is no elevator and approx. four flights of stairs so this could be troublesome for some.
We stayed in August 2017, and had a fantastic experience. The room was big, beautiful and clean. The location was very central and it was within walking distance from pretty much everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful - they gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Two things to note are that the B&B is on the third floor with no lift, and they cannot provide visitors with an iron due to health & safety reasons. So bring a travel iron if you are going to need one!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Poeti! It is central and walkin distance to all the major sites in Florence. It has a cute terrace area and breakfast daily. It is not too modern which I appreciated, it kept the Italian classic beauty. Teodora went out of her way to make it great and I'm very thankful for all of her help. I would most definitely stay here again.
Don't even think about staying here! I hated it so much I was willing to forfeit $700!!! Learn from my mistakes! The people are the rudeness in Italy! I truly have never met a man so rude! I booked 9 nights because I was taking an art class in Florence and wanted an inexpensive place to stay. When I arrived, after carrying my luggage up four stories (about 100 steps), there was no one at the front desk. I had to write down the number listed on the door, and ask another B&B two flights below to make the call, as I didn't have an international plan on my phone. It was about 100 degrees that day, and no AC in the hallways. After about 45 minutes, a very rude man arrived. He said the desk isn't always open, because they don't stay on site. He showed me to a back room that had no natural light except a window in the ceiling. It did not look like the photos posted. It felt like a prison cell. I checked out the next day, and into a hotel for about the same cost. When I asked for my money back, NOT one euro was returned. I paid for 9 nights and stay 1. I was willing to forfeit about $700 because I didn't feel safe. Interesting note, after I asked for a new room, the very rude guy (I think his name was Francesco) said they were fully booked. The next morning , when I checked out, the girl at the front desk said they had several rooms available. I don't normally complain or write bad reviews, but I feel a responsibility to the next person. Please don't lose your money like I did!
Excellent, clean, B&B in the heart of Florence, and in a slightly quieter spot just a couple blocks from the Duomo. The staff were exceptional, helping us find our way around and recommending local Florentine spots for great food, etc. We loved the classy, minimal look of the place, with touches here and there reminiscent of the Renaissance. We had a wonderful stay!
Hidden in the beauty of Firenze, it gave me relax and good emotions that helped me admire Tuscany. The place, where I will come back for sure. Lovely room, cosy bed, delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. I recommend it to everyone visiting Firenze. You will be satisfied. I promise you.
The hotel is on the top floor of a beautifully authentic florentine building. It is decorated beautifully, with a cosy and welcoming feel. The room was spacious, with tall ceilings and a very comfortable bed. We sat on a small balcony and listened to the church bells in the early evening. Theo looked after us very well, and the breakfast was delicious.
Wonderful location, great place. Theodora is the best host, helpful and funny.
Fabulous room, great location and friendly staff. From the moment we arrived Teodora made our stay truly memorable. Can't wait to go back
The staff was supper helpful and friendly. Teodora went out of her way to help us booked a tour and came in early one morning so we would have freshly prepared breakfast before our tour.
