A lovely inn. The room was very pretty and it was nice to be able to open the windows. Appreciated the feather duvet. The shower was a really good.

The bed was a little too firm for us

There was a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and it was comfortable. Continental breakfast was available at no extra charge. The evening meals were very good.

It’s authentic

We were made very welcome. The food was good but the service by Emma was exceptional. She really looked after us at lunch and then for supper after our Safari at Knepp Estate. Emma was great.

The continental breakfast option was welcome - we could tailor our meal to our own preferences and set ourselves up for the day ahead. Although we hadn't included dinner as part of the original booking, we did have dinner the first night and were very pleased with it!

Lovely old country Inn with period features. We had a family room. The two single beds were very comfortable. The double did sag slightly in the middle and was a little small for me and my husband. A kingsize would fit in the space but that’s just our personal preference. Shower/bathroom was clean and fresh. Very nice stay, will be returning if staying in the area again.

Charming, characterful spot with a lovely garden overlooking a pasture with horses. The self-serve breakfast in the morning is ideal for early departures.

Quirky and beautiful pub/B&B with the friendliest staff and locals. Fantastic breakfast and great selection of pub classics for evening meals too. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate us during some difficult circumstances. We were so grateful and felt extremely well looked after.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, lovely country location with dog friendly garden and walks nearby. Good cooked breakfast available at extra cost weekends. Cosy room but adequate size for overnight stay. Located around 5 miles South of Horsham.

Had a reaction to the delicious Thai Curry but otherwise everything fine.

A nice old pub in a pleasant rural location. We were there over a weekend and appreciated the chance to add a good cooked breakfast choice to the standard self-service continental breakfast by booking the evenings before- not available at weekends. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Our room (No 3) was a bit cramped and its bathroom had a surprisingly strong downhill slope - but not surprising given the age of the property and we soon got used to it.

Friendly welcome, room very comfortable. Meal was very good. Hot chocolate available in the room, very good coffee available whenever needed. Good breakfast included, cooked breakfast available if ordered and was extra cost. Good ensuite, shower excellent and full length mirror in room.

Mirror in bathroom was too high. Could have done with a desk, rather than a chest of drawers.

Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, das Restaurant und der Pub super…

Das Familienzimmer hatte sehr niedrige Türen und einige Unebenheiten im Boden ….das Licht im Flur war mit einem Bewegungsmelder geschaltet und ist in der Nacht 2x angegangen und kann dann leider auch nicht einfach wieder ausgemacht werden.

A lovely comfortable country pub set in a quiet location with views over the countryside. Pleasant beer garden. Good food and menu choices. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and spacious with everything you need. No cooked breakfast on a Monday but sufficient ‘help yourself’ continental choice, fresh ground coffee was lovely. Typical country pub accommodation. Excellent value for money.

A small thing, but a light over my bathroom mirror would have been appreciated as I found it difficult to apply my makeup.

Hyggelig sted. Engelsk frokost lørdag og søndag, resten av uken var det enkel selvbetjent frokost. Trivelig sted utover kvelden med god mat og godt drikke.

Fun old building with the low doors, narrow hallways and tilted floors. Wonderful beer garden (perfect weather may have improved my experience), and local beer on tap.

Breakfast was OK with take yourself cereals, toast, etc.

Excellent breakfast, room just what we wanted, met expectations. Hotel very clean, very well maintained, very friendly staff.

Historisches Gebäude, schön hergerichtete Zimmer. Biergarten mit Pferdekoppel.

The bar staff comprised of two ladies that made me feel like i was one of the locals. Their hospitality was much appreciated.

Cooked option for breakfast would of been preferred if available.

This is a beautiful location and the venue is full of character and the staff very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it.

Highly recommend this as a place to stay. Friendly and efficient staff, excellent food and we loved Dolly the dog too! A really fabulous place.

Lovely village pub with a great beer garden. Good pub food. Nice comfortable room with a good shower. A grab and go breakfast was included , which worked well for us.

The shower tiles were a bit mouldy in places and the shower gel dispenser was empty

It was extremely hot during our stay and the fan in the room couldn’t cope. Our meal booking had to be cancelled as the fridges couldn’t cope either and they didn’t want to risk food poisoning! Fair enough and luckily there was another pub nearby which did food.

The bedroom. Small, cramped, sloping floor in the bathroom and passage. Could easily slip in bathroom. Black mould around shower and bath. Toilet seat loose and dangerous. Shower soap dispenser broken. Shower handle didn’t fit in holder. No air con. Room boiling. No coffee or tea in room just two sachets of drinking chocolate. Breakfast in the morning was poor for price of room. Would’ve thought a cooked breakfast would be provided instead of limited continental. Breakfast room cramped and tiny. Only be or two people at a time could serve themselves.

The staff were amazing and so very welcoming.

Beautiful old building with plenty of outside seating

Albeit our stay was during the Red Alert heat period we were provided with a very poor dysfunctional £15 fan which meant that we were totally unable to sleep. Also whilst we had booked dinner, on arrival we were informed that they were unable to open the kitchen facilities, referring us to another venue half a mile away. I appreciate that the weather is/was beyond their control but a more efficient form of cooling the room should be provided

It was a grab n go breakfast using pre packaged products. I thought it said continental so was expecting FRESH breads and croissants (not catering muffins and pan au chocolate in plastic wrappers) as did the people from the continent. There was no parking for overnight guests so we had to park a long way away until closing time when people left.

The staff were all very pleasant welcoming and supportive. The range of food was very good and well priced. All the normal drinks range was available including real ale. The free "grab and go " weekday breakfast had a good range of foods and most all were catered for. The pay for cooked breakfast, only offered at weekend , wasn't available as an option for us so I can't comment on quality but the menu I saw offered a very good range of options.

We stayed overnight during the red alert heat wave and the bedroom offered a fan which helped to some extent for a comfortable nights sleep, but an air con unit would have been really appreciated. However, such an exceptional high temperature as this would possibly be rare ? To invest in such equipment would raise the charges I suppose, but maybe we have to get used to a continental climate and the same standards as our continental partners expect.

The room we were initially allocated on the top floor of the hotel was extremely warm, due to the heatwave, but the staff moved us to a cooler room downstairs. Comfortable bed. Dinner was also very good, with several gluten-free options. Convenient for travel from Gatwick airport.

A full cooked breakfast was not available during weekdays, which was a shame

Nichts. Ein extrem kleines Zimmer, um das Bett herum war noch ca. 60 cm Platz. Wir haben keinen Platz für unsere 2 Koffer gefunden. Die Matratzen waren komplett durchgelegen. Das Bad war ebenso winzig wie das Waschbecken. Um den unangenehmen Geruch des Zimmers zu überdecken, waren mehrere sogenannte Dufterfrischer aufgestellt. Ein winziges Fenster zeigte nach dem Öffnen den Blick auf viele leere Bierfässer

Lovely property and lovely staff.

Twin room was a bit small

Lovely welcoming pub with old-world charm in an idyllic location. Food great. Great outdoor seating/ garden area. The room had a very comfy bed. This area was clean and well equipped. Due to this being an old building, the floors sloped, but this added to its charm. Looked over fields. A very peaceful nights sleep was had. Breakfast continental and self service during our stay, which was fine by us.

Unfortunately, our room was let down by the poor state of repair of the bathroom, which had the most awful mouldy sealant around the bottom of the glass panel and bath. It was black. The shower dispenser didn't work. The shower couldn't be hooked up probably, and the toilet seat was very wobbly. This was such a shame as this let down the room as a whole.

Such a beautiful pub, great location with so ms y walks on your door step. The pub also does brilliant food and has a great garden when the sun is out

Additional charge to bed and breakfast rate for a cooked breakfast. Mattresses on bed were old and sagging. Definitely needed to be replaced.

Well appointed bedroom with a good tv; comfortable bed and great pillows. Good choice of food at dinner. Some gluten free options available too. Breakfast was well organised for helping yourself and well stocked with pastries, cereals, bread etc, with a small choice of gluten free items. The fridge was well stocked with milk, fruit and fruit yoghurts.

As it is a popular pub parking was not so easy, but no idea what can be done about that as all available space was used. As we were staying guests it would have been nice to be sure we could park, as on one evening we had to park outside someone's house and move later when a space became available. We would have liked natural or Greek yoghurt at breakfast as we don't eat the fruit ones.

Really cute, well maintained village pub. Loved all the features and such lovely staff.

If I had to pick one thing it would be that you have to shut your bedroom door at night otherwise the motion light detection cones one in the hallway and as your turn over at night the light comes on! Room 4 double room, not the twin room. Other than that I cannot fault the place.

Absolutely amazing all round, super helpful friendly staff. Great breakfast. Very high standard room and bed. Gorgeous location! Came here to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday and had a great meal here too. The staff were instrumental in helping me surprise him! Totally above and beyond and high quality all round.

Das Frühstück am Wochenende war genial. Sehr schön war auch die Möglichkeit der Selbstbedienung morgens mit Toast, Porridge und Cornflakes , verschiedenen Obstsorten, Kaffee und Tee. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr schöne restaurierte und eingerichtete Zimmer. Sehr gut gelegener Ausgangspunkt für diverse Unternehmungen.

Im Bad fehlten etwas die "Abstellmöglichkeiten", Möglichkeiten etwas anzuhängen für 2 Personen.
