Provider-sourced guest reviews.
We had a lovely room with a great view. The staff were very helpful. The breakfasts were amazing.
We didn't know how to use the room heater - perhaps some instructions would be useful for overseas guests.
Perfect place to stop on Hadrian’s Wall!
TBH I can’t think of anything
Great food, friendly and helpful staff, it’s always a pleasure to stay here.
A lovely stay during the Hadrians Wall walk- well worth staying. Comfy and clean, friendly staff in lovely location, definitely recommend!
Great staff
Small bed
Location is excellent, really lovely pub with great selection of beer. Food was lovely with a great choice at breakfast
Our room was on the small side and was situated above what I think were the pub toilets as there was regularly noise from hand dryers.
The room and the bathroom were super clean. The inn had a secure storage for our bikes. Great location to explore sites of Hadrian wall.
The room was a bit small and it was difficult to move around.
Ett perfekt läge för att gå endesmed Hadrian wall och besöka Vindolanda. Maten var god och prisvärd personalen trevlig. Tyvärr hann vi inte besöka the taproom and shop.
Rummet litet som de flesta rum i England. Men vi hade en härlig utsikt över landskapet.
Food good value
Took 3 times to ask for water at dinner Sunday evening
Great ambience, friendly and very helpful staff.

Fantastic location, great to have the brewery and stargazing on site.. good safe storage for our bikes

Great location. Clean comfortable rooms and excellent food. Very friendly helpful staff
Allocated tables for dinner. Would have preferred to sit where we wanted. Also disappointed that the only coffee available at breakfast was filter coffee.
I could not recommend this place highly enough. After walking for hours up and down Hadrian’s Wall, arriving here was like reaching an oasis in the desert! I checked in and was told they had already reserved a table for me in the restaurant. Lovely food and drinks. Breakfast was great and a basic lunch is available for walkers. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
Excellent value wonderful staff good food at good prices Choice of six real ales brewed on the site Great location for HADRIANS swallow Vinolanda Sycamore Gap etc
Room was next to noisy extraction pipe On busy main road

The location was excellent for walking, food was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms were comfortable, and clean.
The room was quite hot even with a fan blowing and we were located close to air conditioning units outside that were noisy, so had to shut the windows.
Perfect location, excellent food and service. Very clean.

The food, beer and views were amazing
It was all great
Lovely friendly place to stay. Drying room was super useful, handwashed a bunch of clothes midway through my walk. Room was comfortable & breakfast was tasty.
Food service was a bit slow - but they were pretty busy.
Excellent location for our Hadrians wall walk. The breakfast was great and set us up perfectly for the grueling walk ahead.
The room was small with not much space for our bags and gear.
Booked the property as part of the Hadrians wall walk and ideal as part of the route. Turns out they got their own brewery and loved the juno pilsner 5.1% larger. The full breakfast was top notch as well. Also we had a evening meal and can recommend the pie dinner 👍🏻
Nothing lol
Beautiful location. Friendly, helpful team who run the place. Food choice was good and the food was very nice. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
There was nothing we didn't like
Loved the location and the view of Hadrian's Wall, the staff were great, breakfast excellent.
Our room (10) was tiny and right above the bar, kitchen and entrance to the Inn. Because of this it was very noisy until well after 11pm which for us after walking a long distance of Hadrians wall and having an early start the next day wasn't ideal. I wouldn't book again unless there were quieter standard rooms as it was the most expensive stay of our walk along the wall path.
Great staff, nice room, wonderful food.
Nothing
The location was idyllic and all the staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was very good and service in the restaurant.
Standard room smaller than expected but suited our one night stay.
Staff were fantastic, great location for Hadrian's Wall and the Pennine Way
What a great place to stay, the rooms are good the food is excellent and there is also a fantastic selection of beers in the bar.
Everything is so expensive where ever you go
Great location. Friendly staff. Good food. On site brewery. Dark sky events. Own observatory. Good for walking. Running. Biking. Site seeing
Lovely welcome at end of a long hard and hot walk. Very good dinner and breakfast. Most staff were excellent. Watched a 'Quoits' match in the evening played outside the pub. Appreciate their logo "Those about to walk, we salute you". Appreciated the fan in the bedroom. Knowing the area better now, would stay more nights and use the excellent bus service to start or complete our walks

Staff, food, cask ales, location
Staff seemed to be well organised and attentive.
Room quite small, but very clean.
Heerlijke plek om te eten en slapen aan de Hadrian’s wall. Attent personeel en goede vibe.
Niets.
The room was very comfortable and some of the staff were helpful .
I could not stay for breakfast so asked for sandwiches for a substitute. I was told by the duty manager I could only have one sandwich despite paying over £150 for bed and breakfast. I was charged £9.95 for a sandwich between the cheapest sliced bread available. See attached images.
Det meste var helt topp, flott plass!!
Det var kjempevarmt på rommene og føltes ut som det var 0 oksygen....
Lovely staff good food great drying room
Bit pricey and noisy room at the front of hotel
Great pub in a great location. Food and beer garden were brilliant as were the staff.

Location, beer
Over commercial. Expensive
The rooms, the facilities, the food where faultless and the location was breathtaking 😍
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast and evening meal was very good and there was plenty of choice. It brews its own beer. It also has a drying room
Location fantastic. Really decent food and drink. Clean rooms. Staff superb
Beautiful pub, friendly staff, nice vegan food, loved the tap room and shop, nice views, good location, comfortable, clean. What more could we ask for?!
Nothing.
Fabulous staff. Great location, just off the wall. Local knowledge was great. Fab breakfast.
Breakfast eccezionale
My husband and I stayed at the Twice Brewed Inn while walking Hadrian's Wall Path. The Inn was just off the trail and easy to get to. The staff was welcoming, our room was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious! Sitting out on the patio enjoying a pint after a long day of walking was wonderful!
Perfect, clean, modern, great food, wonderful staff. Drying room for wet clothes a bonus.

Brilliant location, fantastic Staff, fantastic beer
The Chief needs to boil the water and actually cook the veg.! Who on Earth 🌍 like raw veg.! The rest of the meal was very good
Location, location, location This place is awesome. Basically a pub with rooms plus star glazing. Who can ask for more? Great service, food , beer just everything you need plus some.

it was so close to where we wanted to be and had a great vibe
noisy at night
The staff were fantastic! Friendly and obliging. Included breakfast was excellent, also having a dining room especially for staying guests for dinner made not having to book easy. The room was small but functional everything worked and was comfortable.

Vanaf het Hadrian's Wall Path prima te bereiken. Pub, restaurant en B&B in één.

Great place to stay with friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to help us with an number of problems we'd encountered on our walking of Hadrians Wall path, from accessing super glue for boots, and my forgetfulness regarding my charger. Wonderful menu and of course their wonderful brewery. Would highly recommend to others walking the path or passing through the area.
Nothing comes to mind
The rooms and food were great.

Beer was excellent. Food was very good. The packed lunch for the next day was ample and tasty
Staff were excellent as always.
Food has gone downhill last couple of years. Same menu for 2 years, not especially well cooked. No specials. We stay every year and this year I booked before proposing to my girlfriend. I notified in advance but it want even mentioned at all. Paid extra for a luxury room but it was just standard?
Great accommodation with large bar and separate dining room for overnight guests. Really well oiled machine catering for us walkers (short walk off the Hadrian’s Wall path) and locals alike. Food excellent on an evening and breakfast. Beers great. We also did their star racing event which was brilliant. Bedroom clean and well equipped. Drying room was great for walking clothes. Optional packed lunches (£10) for walkers was great.
Amazing pub, great atmosphere, just what we had read and better. Breakfast really good. Staff looked after us very well. Loved the support for the Sycamore “stump”. Great walks from the pub.

Comfy bed and a great shower. Breakfast was immense!
Excellent location, ideal for walking Hadrians Wall. We received a really warm welcome from the reception staff and given clear and concise information. The room was clean. Good choice of local ales and nice food menu.
As we were staying overnight a table in the restaurant was reserved for us for the whole evening. Upon arriving we asked the member of staff if we could change that to a table in the bar area. This was agreed and we were sat at a. Ice table by the window. We stayed at this table for a couple of hours however when we ordered food we were told we would need to move because someone else had booked that table. We tried to explain that we were staying overnight and we had arranged for this table all evening however we were very rudely told to move and were made to sit right next to the toilets (which were filthy and smelt disgusting) This ruined the rest of the evening for us and neither of us wanted to eat our food. The whole place seemed extremely short staffed and they seems harassed and stressed. This is probably how the confusion over the table happened but given to prices we expected much better. The rooms were clean but very small and the walls were paper thin and you can hear every word the people next door said which led to a disrupted nights sleep. I ordered a packed lunch to take on the next days walk. This was completely inedible, the bread was stale and like cardboard. I was also told that normally there was a tray baked muesli bar but the chef didn’t have time last night and no alternative offered. Extremely disappointing and made for a terrible days walking especially as I paid £10 for this inedible food. Upon checkout there was no one on reception so there was a long queue and we had to wait nearly 30minutes to check out. Overall I would not return and would not recommend. If this is how bad it is in May I can only imagine how poor it is when it is really just in the summer.
It was located just off Hadrians Wall which we were trekking, the staff were friendly and efficient. There was a good selection of meals
Had no issues
Beautiful location to meet our brother who was walking the Pennine Way.

Great place for staying when walking Hadrian's wall
Sehr saubere Zimmer, perfekte Beratung beim Abendessen
es könnten ein paar mehr Haken im Bad und Zimmer vorhanden sein.
Friendly staff, good beer and food
The packed lunch for nexts day walk was a little overpriced
Lovely hotel and evening meal. Really nice atmosphere. Good range of Gluten-free options for breakfast.
Great staff. Good food. Comfortable room.
This place is hammered by walkers and tourists alike - id expected it to be a little tired looking but far from it...the staff and owners clearly work hard to maintain standards! Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Bar was great with locally brewed ales a plenty.
One of the dining areas is to the rear and your left feeling a bit out of things - that said some may prefer to be away from the crowd as it were!
Location
Great location. Comfortable rooms. Drying room. Pleasant restaurant. Nice breakfast. Good WiFi.
Beds a tad small.
Very nice welcoming pub with friendly helpful staff

Fantastic ladies on the reception desk! Also young chap behind the bar was great - really helpful and interesting. Great place run by a strong team!
Ideal location whilst Walking Hadrian’s Wall.
Perfectly positioned. Perfect hostelry! Super, super staff!!
The bed was super comfortable, the showers were really nice. Great location.

Great location. Good facilities. Friendly staff.
Room was a bit small, but ok for 1 night.
Ideally positioned for hiking sections of Hadrians wall. Comfortable warm room with nicely stocked tea tray. Hot shower. Amenities for walkers like drying rooms for wet wetaher clothes. Very thoughtful. Evening food was wholesome and plentiful but on the expensive side- captive audience i suppose.
Staff cold and largely uninterested in interacting with customers from check in to bar and dinner service. It was not communnicated to us properly that the property provides a complimentary breakfast which would have been nice to have - or about details of the Tap room adjacent.
Lovely and clean, great food and beer. Having the tap house attached gave an extra element. Staff very attentive. Fantastically situated for local roman wall sites and right next-door to the Sill.visitor centre. Didn't visit the dark sky experience but will next time.
Small point tricky to fill kettle.
Lovely Hotel, staff were lovely and accommodating. The food was lovely both evening meal and breakfast, good varietyto choose from. It's a perfect location for Hadrians Wall and star gazing. I would definitely stop there again
