Nothing
This was our second time at Blue Waters. Hotel itself is very clean and tidy. The majority of staff are very helpful and attentive. The pool waiting staff was very hit and miss. Food was mainly good. The steak house has definitely lost some of its appeal. The bread and oil (vegetable oil) not olive wasn’t pleasant. The plate arrived with oil still in the plates. The open kitchen is now frosted over and cannot watch the chefs at work. I don’t feel the resort food/drink in Jamaica is as good the Cancun resort. The rooms in Jamaica are more modern than Cancun. We had a few minor issues that were resolved very quickly by Brenda the general manager. She is a beautiful lady inside and out. Very genuine and kind. Also Britannia in the coffee shop remembered our order after the first day. She was also very polite and kept the counter tidy. The hotel was also selling day tickets this then lead to some eating areas and bars not being able to cope with the volume of people. A little disappointing when we had paid to stay at the resort for a second time and receiving a completely service. We did hire a local driver to go to mo bay. We used the vendors to the right of the resort for horse riding.
Our reservation was cancelled due to the hurricane, very understandable. We were told the refund would take 7-10 business days. When we didn’t receive the money we called the number provided but they didn’t have any answers, we were told to contact the resort directly. The phone number wasn’t working so I emailed them. I had to email them multiple times to get a response and they said they didn’t charge us and if they did, it would take up to 30 days to receive a refund. It was already more than 30 days and We sent them proof from the bank that $2,100 was taken out of our account. They said they sent it to corporate. Finally we heard back from them after multiple attempts of reaching out again. They said we’d receive the refund by the end of the week and we did not. I then emailed them multiple times since then and have not heard back. This is absolutely ridiculous and we need our money back.
I never made it to the hotel. My family and I were supposed to stay at the Royalton Blue Waters at the end of December 2025. After the big hurricane hit Jamaica in late October, we were worried our vacation would be cancelled. However, we heard nothing from the hotel. We waited because we wanted to ensure the hotel could focus on what was needed to keep it open. On November 5, weeks after the hurricane, we received an email from the hotel asking us to pay more to choose a room in advance or upgrade our room. This lead us to believe the hotel was open. We declined the upgrade and kept checking the hotel’s website for any confirmation that it was open but received nothing. Given the silence, we emailed the hotel on November 17 but they didn’t respond. On November 22, hearing no response, I called the hotel directly. Unfortunately, after trying multiple numbers, I could t get anyone to answer. This worried me so I called Royalton’s main line. When I got someone, they told me the hotel was closed through September 2026. When I asked when I was going to be told the hotel was closed, the rep had no answer. I asked her to look into this and all she said was the hotel was closed and I could cancel or transfer my reservation. I asked if Royalton would give me anything for the inconvenience of the hotel being closed and having to change everything, without ever receiving notice, and all I was offered was a bottle of champagne at an all inclusive resort. Needless to say, I cancelled my reservation and will never contemplate anything with Royalton again. Easily the worst customer experience ever. Stay away!
I was here in 2019 and decided to give it another try. This time I stayed in the right tower with a swim out and oh boy it’s anwful over there. Before we got settled in the room we waited almost 2 hours for housecleaning only to be put in a damp room, we switched rooms twice before just saying screw it. The room is in need of renovations, chipped wood, poor painting job, just disappointing. I don’t recall it being this bad on the left tower. For the price this hotel needs to do better. Customer service Apart from the staff at the front desk everyone was very friendly. If ur not traveling with children stay on the adults only side. Entertainment This was a joke 1 star for effort Food It was impossible to book at a restaurant so we did the buffet for 3 days and nope nope nope, this has gone down hill. The cafe had nice desserts. Location It’s far but there’s uber now Highlight of trip The swim out pool only! Final say It’s a hard no for me, I would not come back here.
Before I writing this I had to take some time because of what I’ve endured during my stay was so traumatizing I didn’t feel safe staying at this property or any Marriott property for the foreseeable future. In October I was one of the many people who got stuck during hurricane Melissa. As guest were trying to extend their stay and get info from the front desk staff they staff began to have an unpleasant attitude when asked for the resorts hurricane policy. A policy couldn’t be provided because they didn’t have one then tried to make it seem like it wasn’t necessary b/c we should expect them due to location. In addition, when we told them according to Jamaica’s law you can’t charge guest once a hurricane becomes active (starting Sun) they appeared to get more frustrated with us then charged almost double claiming the rate went up at 9am from what was being charged at 7am that same morning. During the storm our room flooded and we were left to clean up the mess afterwards. The damage in Trelawny was so bad we went days with no WiFi or cell service unless we went to the roof or paid to go into Montego Bay because the resort isn’t actually located there but uses the name as a front to try to get people there. As the days went on during the day male staff would appear at our door claiming to be housekeeping after housekeeping already came by and they had none of the supplies or even the uniform of the housekeeping staff. These same men even entered our room one afternoon scaring us. Once I was finally able to get a flight home I tried leaving the resort but the staff wouldn’t let me claiming they couldn’t find my paper work demanding more money out of me. Since the resort lost service & wifi they had been keeping track of things through paper even writing guest card info down because they were so greedy trying to squeeze more money out of everyone. The staff clearly couldn’t not keep up with the paper trail system and began calling me names while I was discussing this matter with them. After being fed up with their nonsense I made an attempt to leave the property telling them not to put their hands one me. As I turned away 2 men and 1 women charged after me & snatched my luggage out my hand threatening to have me arrested while all 3 hand their hands on me at the same time. This was completely uncalled for I’m truly upset and and disappointed in how the staff assaulted me. I understand the country has went through a lot and so have I by having to extend my stay when all I wanted to do was get out their way by making it home safely so the people can work to restore Jamaica. The manager watched this happened and didn’t bother to apologize on behalf of the people who assaulted me. Before the issues from the hurricane appeared overall I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone all the perks the resort mentioned came with low quality effort like the butler service for diamond club, the bar options were so bad I got a bottle off the resort, the food was ok, room wasn’t kept up by housekeeping besides new towels and making up your bed. Also, the property is so small you can get through it a day. You would’ve had a better time booking a cruise than booking this resort.
I recently stayed at the Royalton Blue Waters in Montego Bay from October 23rd to October 27th to attend a wedding. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a series of unfair treatments and financial exploitation, which I believe stemmed from being an American citizen. Before the hurricane struck, I encountered several issues, including a malfunctioning refrigerator, leaks from the ceiling, and being locked out of my room for hours despite repeatedly informing the staff. Unfortunately, there was no sense of urgency in addressing these problems. Throughout my stay, I also struggled to get housekeeping to provide fresh linens and properly clean our rooms. The wedding party was originally scheduled to leave on Monday, October 27th, but we were unable to do so due to the storm and airport shutdowns. Despite our predicament, hotel management charged us exorbitant and inconsistent rates for additional nights, fully aware that we were stranded and had no control over the situation. Meanwhile, they were accommodating their staff and their families free of charge. When I sought clarification about these charges, I was met with rude attitudes from some staff members, notably Dorothy and Shanelle, who would either dismiss my inquiries or walk away. Once the hurricane hit on October 28th, the hotel failed to provide adequate food, proper safety measures, evacuation plans, or updated information. On October 29th, we still received insufficient food and no updates. By October 30th, the hotel began charging us $20 for a bus ride to reach an area with cellular service so we could contact friends and family back in the United States. Additionally, they started locking guests out of their rooms until further payments were made. I understand that we visited during hurricane season, but the treatment I received was deeply disheartening and unacceptable. This experience has left me feeling unsafe and has diminished my desire to return to Jamaica in the future.

The manages were rude and unaccommodating throughout my stay. Dorthy a front desk manager, was especially unprofessional. Instead of addressing my concerns, she spoke to me with a dismissive and disrespectful attitude, which only made the situation worse. I tried to handle things calmly, but the lack of courtesy and basic customer service was unbelievable. Guests deserve to be treated with respect, not made to feel like an inconvenience. For the price and reputation of this hotel, I expected far better service and leadership. I won’t be returning, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere if they want to be treated professionally and with care. I will say Shirleen, Ameka, Bianca, Tishanna, Vanessa, Jordan, Mariah, Jhamone and the whole vide team where amazing.
We recently spent five nights at Blue Water Resort. After nearly 15 hours of travel, we were exhausted upon arrival, but the staff welcomed us right away and the service at check-in was excellent. Unfortunately, my first impression was dampened a bit when, immediately after checking in, I was approached by a salesperson offering a “90-minute” presentation the next morning. It was pitched as a quick breakfast and a free cabana in exchange for attending. Personally, I don’t think the arrival moment is the best time to approach guests with sales pitches—especially after long travel days. Someone from our group did attend, and it ended up lasting close to four hours. It was a high-pressure presentation about becoming a Royalton member for around $14,000, supposedly offering discounts at their resorts worldwide. He ultimately left without signing anything—and didn’t even get the promised cabana since he didn’t want to sign before reading the agreement. I was very glad I opted out. While waiting for our room (about an hour and a half), we sat in the beautiful lobby—though it was quite hot since there didn’t seem to be much air conditioning. Once our room was ready, the view from our balcony completely won us over. It was stunning. The room itself was lovely, but we did notice some minor maintenance issues over time: the balcony door didn’t lock properly, there was a rough drywall patch in the bathroom, and the hot tub jets wouldn’t stay on. Small things, but surprising for a five-star resort. We were supposed to have three bottles of in-room liquor, which arrived only after I asked twice. Our wristbands also had issues unlocking the door, and one door never worked at all, so we had to access our suite through the adjoining room. None of this ruined our trip, but again, not quite five-star quality. Housekeeping was great—very thorough and responsive when one of the kids spilled soda in bed. However, room service and restocking were hit or miss. We had seven people in a two-bedroom suite, yet the fridge restock included only four waters, six beers (none of us drink beer), and a few sodas. After requesting more, we finally got 15 waters, 10 Coke Zeros, and plenty of towels. Our room came with a butler, who was incredibly helpful with dinner reservations, especially for our large group. Dining overall was a highlight. The Italian restaurant was decent, the steakhouse excellent (highly recommend the rib-eye), and the hibachi not only good but entertaining thanks to the lively chef. The surprise standout was the Indian restaurant—absolutely delicious. I hadn’t planned to try it but ended up loving it. For lunch, the Jerk Hut became our daily go-to—the jerk chicken was incredible. Breakfast at the buffet was the weakest meal, though. By 8:30 or 9 a.m., much of the food was picked over, and the omelet line was long. The drinks varied depending on the bartender—some mixed them perfectly, others a bit too strong—but all the bartenders were friendly and fun. The gym was a pleasant surprise. Based on the photos I’d seen beforehand, I expected just a few treadmills and some dumbbells, but it was much better equipped than that. It had multiple machines, a couple of squat racks, a recumbent bike, and a stationary bike. I only managed to work out a few times since it got busier as the week went on, but overall, it exceeded my expectations. The Vibe Crew was another highlight. They kept the kids entertained all day with pool games, volleyball, dancing, and scavenger hunts. All in all, we had an amazing time. The views were beautiful, the atmosphere relaxing, and the people genuinely kind. If your goal is simply to unwind by the pool or beach with a drink in hand, Blue Water Resort delivers. But if you’re expecting a flawless five-star experience with top-tier amenities and seamless service, you may find it falls a bit short.
Is about an hour from the airport. However, transportation was cheap and easy to get. Hotel was clean. Our housekeeper, Jaynie, was wonderful. She went above and beyond. Vibe Team was great - Moriah, Jordan, Kash. Everyone kept the vibes going. The kayak race was really fun. Daniel was a great aqua fit instructor. It is clear he knows what he is doing! Pool staff attendants were also very attentive and helpful. I only wish it was easier to get reservations to the dinner restaurants. When we arrived, everything was already booked.
The resort was beautiful and it was a lot of fun to stay there! The entertainment team was a huge blast — especially Kyash and Picord. The food, though, was largely hit or miss. After a few days you should be able to figure out what you like, but a lot of food is not great, especially the restaurants.
This been a very nice experience and I know I just got here but I got to tell y’all this place is the place I love Jamaica and love the culture
Chevanese the server and Mr. Andrew the manager kept my family and friends very quenched with our needs, they also accommodated us with our drink of choice, and continued to show excellent customer service support, by checking on us, making sure our needs were met. This was a wonderful crew and an experience right before our wedding ceremony. Thank you so much for your hospitality! Jamaica one love! Irie!
Chevanese the server Mr Michael the supervisor. The service was excellent from this lovely lady. Food was great !!!!!!
The service I had received from Chevanese at the pool was exceptional she was very attentive and timely on her service which made it very enjoyable to be there
Markeeno, Gawayne & Kaydeen at the diamond beach bar they are so much fun I had a great time with theme entertaining us we were at this bar most of the time do to them awesome
Markeeno, Gawayne, and Kaydeen at the Diamond Beach Bar were absolutely fantastic. Gave us awesome drinks, entertainment, and lots of laughs. Will absolutely come back to see them again!
The lazy pool the cafe was awesome so was the entertainment.
The pastries
I would NEVER recommend this resort. It is far from 5 stars. Roaches, power outages, the worst customer service (specifically management) to name a few. Upon check in we placed our items in the room, changed and went to the pool. We were told reservations are needed for the restaurants on property. When we went to make the reservation via the app and in person we were told all the restaurants were fully booked until Tuesday (except the Indian restaurant). Our checkout date was Tuesday and we were not able to get the reservations for main restaurant we wanted (hibachi). Additionally once we kept asking for a reservation, we received the latest time and if the food was wrong or not good, the kitchen would be closed after we were served. When I go to an all-inclusive Autograph collection, I expect a rodent free room. Unfortunately, that did not occur. We had roaches in our room on the 6th floor the first night (around 10p). They were in the bed we laid in, in my clothing and around the room. We tried to report it and speak to management but they were unavailable at that time. The staff did not seem surprised at all, told us to bring a few things for the night into the new room. The front desk gave us another room on the 4th floor and told us we would need to switch again the next day. The next day, I went to the front desk to speak to management several times throughout the day. I provided my phone number twice was told to come back at 9a, at noon and then I was told to set up a time for a meeting. I was begging to speak to someone and they refused. We even filled out a written complaint Sunday. No one to this day has called me back during our stay. After switching to our 3rd room as requested by the front desk, I was stepping into the shower and the entire resort went out of power. No A/C, no W-Fi, which meant I couldn’t communicate with my family. I reported this to the Marriott customer service line. I have put forth so much effort to speak with management and they did not attempt to assist during our stay. It has taken approximately 5 months for someone in leadership to respond. Save yourself the headache with dealing with this “5-star resort”.
Chevanese at bar was amazing she checked on us 24/7 she interacted with is she was awesome we will definitely be returning because of u chevanese good job ❤️🎊
Went to this resort to attend a "destination wedding." Compared it to Royalton Punta Cana which I experience back in 2018. Didn't compare. Not in service, drink and food options, nor activities. Yes, I did have Diamond Club. The beach is amazing. Staff is friendly. Plenty of bars and swimming pools. Not too far from the airport. Not on the level of the newer Royalton resorts. This place needs a ramp up. Traveler be ware. I do believe the bride and groom were happy.
I had a wonderful stay at royalton hotel I met a lot of people the staff was incredible big up dj in slim aka Aliko Jahmone picord and devonie they made my stay very enjoyable they were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities made my visit even more pleasant I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!
A huge shout out to the vibes teams including Picord and Akilo aka Dj slim they made our stay a trip to remember. Also a shout out to the waiters and waitresses their service was excellent.
The staff was amazing and the food was good none stop vybz and a lot of activities the theme nights the peace and the scenery was great. Have to big up Picord and dj slim/ jimmy man dem made our experience so memorable
I love the vibes with Moriah and Kelly are spectacular………….me and my friends loveeee the experience and will definitely be coming back for more……….good job hiring this year ntertairmt team
Love Sherian at the Martini Bar she made the best drinks, has the atmosphere fun, vibrant relatable personality. My family went to the bar every night to hang out with Sherian.
**⭐ 1 out of 5 stars** This is my second time staying here and I can’t say how disappointed I am. My stay at this resort has been nothing short of frustrating this go around. The only positive part of this trip was the amazing tour through Prime — especially our guide, Jahee. He was kind, knowledgeable, and truly made that experience memorable. Unfortunately, everything else was a disaster. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive, and maintenance was extremely slow. Our outlets didn’t work for an entire day — which meant we couldn’t dry our hair or get ready. Because of that, we missed our dinner reservation and were not accommodated or offered any solution. It felt like no one cared. The following day, we tried to book a dinner reservation again and were told we couldn’t because we “didn’t have the app.” At this point, it felt like every step of the experience was unnecessarily difficult. The pool bar staff was also rude, room service was extremely slow, and one night our food never arrived at all. The **shower flooded if it ran too long, and no one seemed to have any sense of urgency to fix anything. To be fair, the food itself was good, and the male staff members we interacted with were kind and respectful, but that’s about the only positive. I leave tomorrow — and honestly, I can’t leave soon enough. This resort needs major improvements in customer service, communication, and basic maintenance. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone in its current state.
This hotel is just looks! Horrible service. The food is the worst I have ever tasted from and resort I’ve stayed at, the only good this is the jerk all day. There is no club on this property which I think it’s the stupidness thing, it’s a sports bar! With food! No night life at all and please don’t book ur wedding here!! They serve you buffet food!!!!!
I lost a luggage when arriving at Jamiaca airport and later, Westjet said that they found the luggage at the resort where I stayed. The story from the resort was that my luggage was transferred to the resort and they tried to contact me at the resort and got no answer. This is very interesting story since they know what room that I stayed at the resort based on my name tag on the luggage and could not reach me????? Now, this is a very bad part. Finally, Westjet was able to pick up my luggage and transferred back to my place. When I received my luggage, most of my items are missing???? The luggage is almost empty and the resort did not notice it???? Worst than that, why they did not try to reach me while I am at the resort and said that they tried but could not get an answer from me???? How did they contact me???? Did they not know what room that I stayed in based on my name on the luggage at least??? I would leave up to the reader to interpret what possible happened to my items in my luggage at the resort. For now, I would not think that I will be back to this resort. Besides, the food was below average for the advertised 5 star hotel.
Overall very disappointed in this trip. We stayed with my family (wife and 2 kids) and another couple and their kids. We paid a lot of money expecting the same Royalton standards we had in Mexico and was nowhere near the same. Positive: beach was absolutely gorgeous and the vibe is very laid back. Jerk chicken hut was great and restaurants had very good food. Particularly loved the stake house and the Japanese restaurants. Weather was also amazing. Negative: this resort was very rundown. Very little air conditioning. Many issues in the resort. Our ceiling leaked the last day with water coming down. The door was breaking apart. The service is terrible. We waited hours for drinks. We couldn't get any beef patties in Jamaica which is crazy and the staff was very slow and lazy. Room service didn't work half the time and took way too long. Hotel was very outdated other then the shower which was nice but had a lot of mould. The entertainment for kids was very minimal which was disappointing and there was a lot of weed and cigarette smoking in front of kids. Overall stay away from this resort. This is not a five star. This is more like a two-star rundown hotel. You're better off staying in the same beach property at the Riu next door or somewhere else. The beach is great but everything else was not acceptable and as ghetto as I've ever seen. Do better royalton or change your name to best Western or super 8 motel which is what this was.
The staff at Royalton blue waters are extremely friendly Amanda and Kim, who served us on the beach was very helpful and very friendly
Service and food was terrible. It was hot inside every restaurant and the lobby. The a/c in the room didn’t cool well. Room was run down and needs work. Hand held shower came off the wall. The grounds were nicely kept and the pools were nice. The beach was 10/10. It was LOUD at the swim up bar … you had to yell for others to hear you over the blaring music. It was a huge party vibe, even on the “family” side. Beds and pillows were not comfy. I thought because this was a Marriott property it would be good but I will never stay at Royalton again.
Just returned home after a lovely 11 nights here ! First time visiting Jamaica and what a lovely hotel it is. We did have an issue with room once we had arrived but was quickly sorted via the app which was handy. The beach is beautiful my only concern is that sometimes you can hear the music blaring from RIU next door but that did not bother us too much. Really enjoyed the Italian , buffet was good plenty to choose from and the drinks service was quick. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Tyrone & Kyash (vibe team) deserve a pay rise !!!! They came over every day to say hello , have a chat and a laugh with us . Both really made an effort during our stay here and made our holiday fun! I will say that this is not a 5 star hotel, quite chipped tables , broken tile in our bathroom shower etc which could be replaced. But apart from that the rooms are lovely & clean and very spacious . Entertainment was great, really enjoyed the silent disco and the shows they put on. I would definitely return to this hotel again in future.
We had the butler service Jermaine was the best but we did not get everything on our list they ran out of the things on the list we were supposed to get
Loved it so much! Brought my mom and and my sister and we had the best time! We felt most catered to more than ever! Five stars for everyone
My stay at Royalton blue waters has been amazing the service from the bar staff was the highlight of my stay. Berry and Bianca the bartender is the best guy for the job get your drinks made from him. Great conversations, wonderful service and a people’s person 10/10 experience.
The front desk bartender, Berry was very kind & attentive ; during my 8day trip .. he remembered my allergies , favorite drink and also my name! He greet guest with a smile … and was happy to assist us. He is definitely an asset to Royalton ; such a great spirited person with positive energy towards guest
Checking in was a Nightmare staff appeared overwhelmed and it was chaotic. Our room wasn’t ready and we didn’t get the right room till the following evening one of us had to sleep on a pull out chair and we had to vacate at 11am and told to come back and check in at 3 pm , after frequent visits back and forth we finally got our room 5 pm with no apology for being left waiting all day unsettled and unpacked. We were a group of 24 who all experienced a laps of enthusiasm from some members of staff which is a shame as their are those that went above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The hotel and its surroundings are lovely though their are signs of wear and tear one of are rooms had a hole in the ceiling and some bath tubs had no plugs , room service was poor and at times not even received or taking more than 90 min to arrive tepid and cold. The restaurant were hard to book although the hotel was quiet at times, the booking portal always showed fully booked, service was poor ,food was poor and again a long wait with food tepid or cold and lacking engagement and atmosphere from staff The main food hall was repetitive and the children’s food section was often empty overall food was not of the standard promised , however the staff their were lovely The vibes team were great although entertainment became repetitive with the same shows and games the second week of our stay Butler service was a waist of money , service again was very slow that we found ourselves going to the bar for drinks and ordering food for ourselves . It’s such a shame as the reviews when booking our holiday were very good. We will not be coming back to this hotel for the price paid , defiantly did not experience the standers of a 5* hotel .
Kadiejah instructed the images class this morning! She did excellent! I feel rejuvenated and refreshed! Thank you so much!
We had a great time working out with Kadija and Jordan working out on a Monday! Great way to get the week started. The workout was sneaky good! Challenging but not impossible. Shoulders were on fire at the end, in the best of ways. I wish every workout could be like this one - with the beach in the back.
We had a fantastic time with Jordan, Picard, Raleigh, Jasmine, Kadija!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kadija aqua fit class was so fun and a great challenge! Jordan helped us keep our energy up as well! They even participated in a TikTok for my mom’s birthday celebration! Their energy attentiveness and kindness was unmatched we will definitely be back! The views were beautiful and food and drinks kept flowing definitely took Jamaica to another level 🙌🏾
Cockroach warning! Our first room (3112) was infested with cockroaches. It took several hours before we were moved to another room in Building 4, which was thankfully much cleaner. Management promised to “do something” for the inconvenience, but no one ever followed up or checked in with us. The entertainment is very disappointing — they played the same “Guess the Song” game every day, which made the atmosphere dull and repetitive. Food is just average. The only standouts were the jerk chicken on the beach and the coffee shop. On our last day, at 4:15 p.m., I still couldn’t shower because there was only one maid working our entire floor. I’ve stayed at several Royalton resorts before, and this one was by far the worst experience. Definitely not worth the money.
Beware! Horrible! Check in was a nightmare, the staff members were trying to force us, two adult women to sleep in the same bed. They claimed of not having available rooms with two bed. After a lot of backing forth for about 4 hours management decided to put us in a very comfortable room on the adult side with 2 twin beds. The next morning at 9am we were told that the room that we initial booked was ready to check in, which it was not and we had to wait about l hour in the lobby to check in. It get worst, we were locked out our room everyday due to a faulty lock. We spent so much time going back and forth to the front desk about this issue. The Jacuzzi in the spa and other location had no hot water. The food was not good and very disappointing, it was the same assortments of foods in the buffet area every day. The restaurants, did not have the foods listed on the menu and served cold food. This resort ran out of clean washcloth, resulting in having to constantly asked for them, This basic item should be given every day without asking. Housing keeping advised that there were a shortage of washcloths. The mini refrigerator in the room was never restocked, resulting in having to call guest services for water every day. Management, including the general and regional manager whom I spoke to several times about my issues did nothing to make out stay better, we should have been placed in another room or received some sort of refund. If you are looking for a stress free vacation, great customer service, good food and fun activities. Stay Away From This Place !
Royalton Blue Waters has a very chilled atmosphere. Definitely a resort for relaxation and is family friendly. Had the opportunity to dine at Taj and I must say our server Brandon was really welcoming and friendly. He also recommended which food would be best as I told him I did not like spicy food. Great overall service from Brandon.
Leo is the most amazing butler! Always goes above and beyond for his guests!
My friends and I visited the Royalton for my 40th birthday. The overall experience was amazing. We purchased the diamond club for our stay, which included butler service, access to private beach, access to top shelf drinks, and VIP access to all restaurants. We had three separate butlers, but overall the service was okay. The butler did the best they could to support us, but the service was average. The resort itself was absolute amazing. The grounds were kept beautiful, the pool and the beach was clean. The food at the buffet was the best, I wasn’t to fond of some of the resutursnts food, but on average I would say
Clean rooms , great staff & service, beautiful scenary with updated property & amenities
A time was had beautiful property
Beautiful grounds and hotel. Great holiday.
Diamond service is great the Butlers were very nice , room was clean , met all requests
Some of the rooms need a little bit of work done to them. AC was not blowing that well throughout the property.
The overall stay was good. We had a lot of fun. The only downside was it took forever to just get an umbrella since our rooms didnt have one. And one night it took 2 hours just to get some extra pillows. Also we went to the steakhouse at 9pm and we were being rushed to order since the restaurant was closing soon. We didnt understand why since they gave us that time for the reservation. Other than that the stay was good. Staff in the dining areas were nice and friendly.
I stayed at Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, from August 28 to September 3 in room 3219, and was deeply disappointed. The first room was poorly maintained with broken shelves, only one closet door, and a mouse behind the TV and fridge. After complaining, I was moved to 3301, which was only a slight improvement. Food and beverage shortages were a constant issue during my stay, unacceptable for a resort at this price point. The management offered a complimentary cabana and spa service for the inconvenience, but the spa was not fully operational—the hot tub was cold due to maintenance. The cabana area was dangerously slippery, causing my guest to fall and injure their ankle and knee. Shockingly, we were asked to pay $65 for simple Tylenol at the resort’s nursing office. Part of a group of 75 for a birthday celebration, I and many others were appalled by the lack of care, poor upkeep, unreliable amenities, and unsafe conditions. What should have been a special occasion was overshadowed by frustration and disappointment. I would not recommend Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay, as the experience left us extremely unsatisfied and let down
the pool and beach area was good.
the place needs a lil work. it’s the small things, i had hair on the balcony of the room. the hand held shower kept on sliding down (was broken) the fridge door was broken. facilities had a good amount of wear and tear.
The property was beautiful. They should have more inclusion for solo travelers.
I enjoy my staff my butlers I don’t think they get enough credit for they work. But bugs in the room not clean enough my friend had a rodent in her room running out of food like bacon
Very quiet staff very friendly
The room AC did not work at all. room was hot. there was roaches crawling around in the room, floor, table & even in the bed we found a roach in the morning we were leaving. floor was dirty wasn’t able to walk around without slippers. we wanted to use the tub and that was dirty. staff was unfriendly acted like they didn’t want to help. super disappointed. steakhouse barely had any steak available. never again.
A beautiful property and with an amazing staff. I can’t get over how wonderful the staff the was .
The same food was recycled everyday. If you were late for a meal and an item was finished, that would be it for that meal. Nothing is replenished and they force you from the dining room
The view, the food, the staff, the property overall
The elevator was not working
Ticked all the boxes for us and our 2 teens, plenty of activities on offer, always something on
A window fell out from the top floor one afternoon, reported it to butler. Not something I’d want to see or experience in any hotel or any building - quite concerning.
Vibe team and performers work really hard
Food options were limited. Access to specialty restaurants is very restricted.
Clean and nice
Nothing
Didn't get the room inwas told I was gett8ng was harassed by the security staff on the beach.then went i checked early do to not feeling safe at the property I was charged an additional day on top of all this
The lever of service
Best vacation ever!!!!

Overall experience was fantastic! The rooms were nice and beds comfortable. All of the staff were SO nice! The food was delicious. We did have a hard time booking Zen and never got to eat there. We had friends that got in and said 2 of 6 tables was empty. (Tables sat 10 each). All and all it was a great place and we would go again.
We couldn’t get reservations at zen
Staff is very rude. Beware this property is infested with mosquitoes, you can’t sit outside comfortably. It’s nearly impossible to get dinner reservations.
Staff were on the whole fantastic. The beach is beautiful. All the food was fresh. We were initially nervous reading recent reviews but we needn't have worried, we've had a wonderful stay. All 18 of us were happy. Staff who were exceptional were Keron, Marlene, and Raymond
Sometimes the app wasn't that accurate with fitness bookings
The hotel was very hot. The ac was not as cool as expected. Also, the dining area was not cool due to lack of ac. The elevators are extremely hot and too small for such a big property. The staff is AWESOME. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, helpful and very welcoming.
We just love this hotel and it was totally worth getting the Butler service. Totally totally worth it. We absolutely loved our Butler. WILLARD and FITZGERALD!! I have never dealt with such an amazing and caring team. Lady at the checkout desk was amazing TISHANA and Wayne the server at the Cabana . This hotel is just the right size. I love it so so much. I would only ask for better air-conditioning in the main Diamond facilities and in the main checkout area but other than that, it’s an amazing hotel with incredible beaches.
The property needs to be elevated. Staff is amazing But no ac in lobby or restaurants… rooms ok
I loved that this resort is on the beach THATS IT !
The staff was rude as hell ! Maybe 1 or 3 of the ENTIRE resort was friendly EVERYONE ELSE HAD EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE… this resort is also MISQUOTE GALORE!! IVE USED CANN’SSSS of misquote repellent and it only last a few hours before there biteing with VENGEANCE!! Also this resort has NOO A/C its Hott as hell !! They keep the doors open for circulation but it’s a HOT AIR FLOW 24/7 I spent a week in hell and super happy to leave !! The workers are poorly trained, I came with over 1k to tip and didn’t !! Housekeeping was a 10/10 I do greatly appreciate them !!
The room was clean and everything was working the way it was supposed to. The water drained perfectly in the shower and the sink and the toilet was tucked away in its own enclosed room. I liked the hotel amenities and the entertainment. I did not like the quality of the local food at the restaurant. I also did not like how expensive transportation from the hotel was. The hotel is not located in a busy center, so to get to the nearest town that has shopping, restaurants and a booming nightlife, you have to travel at least 30 minutes by car. In future I would stay in Montego Bay or Ocho Rios
Do not even hesitate. This was my absolute favorite hotel! The best of the best of the best. Best beat best staff excellent excellent food. An extra special shout out to Willard The Butler. What an amazing human I wouldn’t be surprised if he runs the whole whole hotel one day into Wayne the server at the cabana what an absolute angel One hard-working human. Sonja, who also worked in the Diamond club area. Those were some amazing sand out and there was our amazing helper in our room. I believe her name is Sonia. Royalton, you have done it right your jerk chicken is by far the best.
We stayed in RM3508 last week and everyday we had to reprogram our room keys as it dropped EVERYDAY. Could you imagine after a long day and waiting on the elevator to only have to return to the lobby. On night 1, I needed sheets for the pullout bed. Unfortunately, the room phone didn’t have the telephone guide to notify what each button meant (see photo). I pressed 0 and that phone just rang. I then proceeded to press the different buttons and I finally got an answer and made my request. The room was not 100% clean, we found two pieces of pink candy on the floor and in chair near the working desk upon arrival. Night 2 in the process of reprogramming our room keys, the front desk agent did something and it cause the room to be check out. So when we powered the tv, we got the message saying checked out room (see attached) Therefore I had to return to the desk again. Additionally, it was extremely hard to get dinner reservations to the different speciality restaurants! The last evening my family member who traveled with us, were able to get us into the steak house. What I observed was 70% of the inside was empty. The restaurant wasn’t full until after 7:30pm. On the survey I received at dinner, I suggested maybe having two dining to accommodate more guests. (6-8pm and 8-10pm) Night 4 we waited until 12:30pm to eat at the bar opposite the jerk. No food was offered until 1:15pm. No explanation. I MUST OFFER KUDDOS TO “SEAN” IN THE BUFFET RESTAURANT! Very hospitable!!
I loved the view from the room. My favorite thing.
The rooms need to be updated. The water would cut off during showers.
Absolutely outstanding resort.beautiful place.very friendly staff.must visit .Brandon the bar man best in the world
Resort is great. We really enjoyed the water aerobics class. Water polo was super fun Beautiful beach, great room. The layout of the property was great. Accommodating and friendly staff made dinner reservations easy.. sports bar was a great place to hang at night.
Wonderful family vac, checked each of our boxes, fun, sun, yoga w Travis, cabanas, beautiful ocean, jet skis, exotic drinks. 17-53 a family experience that will last a life time. Cecil & Ryan made sure all of our needs were met & we got spoiled.
I stayed at the Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay for a wedding . First things first, the hotel is in Trelawny not Montego Bay. That’s about 45 minutes to an hour from Montego Bay. While this was supposed to be a joyous occasion and nothing short of that, it’s been nothing but a headache, huge stressor for the bride, groom and guests, and nothing but pure regrets. First off the bride could not get in contact with these people inclusive of the wedding department that they have. They do not answer emails or phone calls. I also tried countless times to call the resort and email them. My trip came and went…no response to this day. They are very money hungry. All they saw were dollar signs being that it was a wedding. While I cannot list everything that has transpired because it’s an astronomical amount, I will list a few. The bride selected an arch with one of the wedding coordinators and paid additional for the arch. After she paid, they told her she couldn’t have that arch because it would mess their floors up. They told her she could not get a refund and would have to get a credit. Ummmm excuse me? Next they made the bride and groom pay $400 for the bridal party to eat dinner together. Why is there a charge for dinner when it’s an all inclusive resort? When we arrived for the dinner, they informed us that they knew nothing about the dinner. Someone then came back and said someone is at our table. This “dinner” was held at the buffet with the rest of the resort. We were not served or had special accommodations so what exactly was that $400 for. The bride has been requesting a refund and still nothing. The lock on my door was broken which resulted in me being unable to easily get in my room. I would have to keep trying until it eventually worked. I notified the front desk of this. The receptionist said the lock would be fixed. I reported this issue another 4 times and nothing was done until my last night when my lock physically fell off and onto the floor at 1 am. On the morning of the wedding, the bride didn’t have hot water to shower. The water was ice cold. When she called the front desk, the receptionist laughed out loud and said “I’ll make a note of it.” The bride had to go to another persons room to shower. One of the bartenders, Denroy, was very rude to my family and I. We asked him to make 6 Bob Marley drinks. The nerve of us to ask him to do his job. He said in patios “ 6 bumboclat Bob Marley drinks. A them f**kery yah mi can’t deal wid.” I am Jamaican so understood every cuss word and negativity that spewed out his mouth. He probably thought my family and I would not understand the dialect. In the midst of Denroy making our drinks that he did not want to, he proceeded to engage in an argument with another bartender in front of guests. He told him to suck his mother and that he will “push his knife in him.” Another staff Shenik, was very rude when I asked her for a high chair and reminded her because she had forgotten. For some reason when you ask questions or for assistance , the staff gets annoyed. The resort has very little to no entertainment which is a huge disappointment. All the bars/ quick bites close between 5-6 with the exception of 2 bars. The rooms are decent but had a moldy smell decent. I don’t know what the issue was. The food is okay and the service is okay depending on who you get. If you are staying on the family side of the resort you only have access to two restaurants and the budget. The Hideaway has access to all restaurants. Room service is 24 hours but they’re pointless because you’ll starve to death before they arrive. I ordered food through room service a total of 3 times. The first two times it took 2 hours. The 3rd night it took 4 hours. Thats right. You read correctly. 4 whole hours. 240 minutes. By the time they arrived at 4 am, we were sleeping. The drinks are watered down and even one of the bartenders told us they were. So the drinks were not that great. My family and I made the best of things and enjoyed being with each other but 0 out of 10. I would not recommend. Jamaica is such a beautiful place with so many nice hotels. I would never stay here again. No one could pay me to stay here again. Nor would I recommend this resort to a stranger. Brides…I highly suggest if this resort is on your list for your wedding to reconsider and reconsider expeditiously. Your day will not be nothing close to what you envision for your big day.
Definitely not a 5-star resort. Probably 3.8 at best. Family of 4. We booked Diamond Club. If you don't good luck. Our 2 butlers Lavardo and Tashika made the trip for us. They were incredibly helpful and definitely went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. If we didn't have them to lean on for things we needed (water, restock of mini fridge, restaurant reservations, etc) this trip would have sucked! Except for our two butlers service is extremely hit and miss. Some of the staff are friendly and attentive and some absolutely could care less about their job or you. And they make it apparent. I've never seen such a stark difference at a resort where some cared and some didn't. It was super hit and miss. And we tip well. The resort is outdated and definitely needs maintenance. Lots of small things that we can look past, but for the price it should be pretty nice overall. Oh! They will pitch you for timeshare. The second you walk through the door a very nice lady starts creating a relationship with you aside from checking in. I've never sat through a presentation so was curious what it was all about. They gave us 2 days of a cabana around the pool and 2 / 25 min massages for sitting through it. Of course we didn't buy into it. But it was definitely funny to sit through. It was also funny to see how nice those people were to you during that presentation, but when you didn't buy, they completely ignored you the rest of the time we were there. The little nice greeter we had in the beginning completely ignored us when we saw her around the resort. The 2 days of cabanas were completely worth sitting through it. Why! Because this is one of those resorts where it's a wake up early and play the freaking chair save game. Absolutely ridiculous people do this. And as usual we would see towels on chairs, and no one would ever show. So, after a while if we wanted what they had we just got rid of the towels and took it. Don't care. We didn't really take advantage of the nightly entertainment. It did usually end at 10ish. But there were two weddings that music blasted until about 11 - 12. The RIU is next door. We could see and hear their music from our room. They would party until 1:30 or 2 some nights. That sucked a little, because you definitely hear it. The ocean is ok. Some seaweed is in the water and washes ashore. They get rid of it every morning. It's totally swimmable though and quite nice. We went to a dreams resort in Mexico a few years back and there were enormous amounts of Sargassum that the resort didn't even try to get rid of. 7-mile beach in Negril is the best beach by far. RIU blocks your sunset BTW. There is no sunset. Which if you've ever been to 7-mile beach in Negril the sunsets in Jamaica are incredible. Thats about all I can think of. All that said, we wouldn't probably go back to this resort. But in all fairness, we are travel junkies and probably wouldn't go back to the same resort multiple times unless it was completely on point and well worth the money. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that exists anymore.
Kadija is the best aqua fit instructor. She made it fun and entertaining. We worked all of our muscles and I fell great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The staff was amazing! They were committed to us having an outstanding experience.Jerome was a great fitness instructor and my butler Leo was phenomenal!
It was a fantastic experience, and Chevanese was the most amazing server! I recommend her every time! Please go to this resort!
The gym is really clean. I like the equipment that was there. The instructor Jerome was helpful and welcoming. Overall I would say it was a really good experience and workout.
We wanted to love our stay, but it just fell short. The beach is beautiful, the ocean warm, and the hotel pools were very nice. It wasn’t busy so we had no trouble securing chairs or towels by the pool and beach. It was difficult getting restaurant reservations, the buffet was average, service was very hit or miss- great one day and the next day we were ignored. Drinks were ok but they were out of a few things we asked for, like a bottle of Italian sparkling wine (5 listed on the menu) that we wanted to celebrate a birthday. All beef everywhere was so overcooked. Order rare meat at the steak house and expect medium well done. Glad another guest told us before we went. There wasn’t much entertainment or things to do after 5pm which was disappointing. Bring bug spray, there are mosquitoes and the gift shop sells a can of off for $26!! Our room was cleaned well and the front desk staff was pleasant. The AC was very weak in our room and the elevators are slow with only two in the wing we were staying in. We were asked by every person who worked at the resort to complete a review while they stood over us. It was horrible and an insincere way to get better reviews for the resort. We enjoyed our trip, but would not go back.
Disappointing Stay at a Beautifully Mismanaged Resort I recently stayed at Royalton Blue Waters and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The experience began poorly and never quite recovered. The front desk staff were unwelcoming and provided no orientation about the resort, amenities, or dining options. Our room wasn't ready upon arrival, and within the first 24 hours, we had to change rooms three times due to various issues. While housekeeping staff were excellent and kept the rooms very clean, the overall room maintenance was shockingly poor. Across the three rooms we occupied: Fixtures were rusted or broken One tub had no faceplate for the faucet A closet door was missing entirely A hole was visible in the ceiling One room had no working air conditioning, while another was freezing cold The in-room phone didn’t work, making it impossible to reach the front desk when needed Room service was unreliable—orders were placed and simply never arrived. We also made a formal complaint to guest services and scheduled a meeting with a manager, who never showed up. On the dining front, the buffet and jerk hut frequently ran out of food, which was disappointing for an all-inclusive resort. The only highlight of the trip was the serving staff and the Vibes Team, who were friendly, hardworking, and brought much-needed positivity to the experience. A special shoutout to Kurk, Andres, and Brandon—their service was excellent and truly appreciated. And Picord from the Vibes Team was one of a kind—full of energy, warmth, and made everyone feel welcome. It’s important to note that the staff are not the issue—they’re doing their best under poor leadership. It’s the management that brings this resort down. Poor oversight, lack of accountability, and failure to deliver on basic standards are what truly ruin the guest experience here. I cannot recommend Royalton Blue Waters and would not return
Jordan and Kelly from the hype team really made our week memorable. They were both very welcoming and fun. My son wants to come back asap! Thank you both for your hard work and fun upbeat personalities !! You can tell these two have been brought up by / surrounded by good people in their lives.
This was our 3 rd time staying at a Royalton. My wife and I were celebrating our 15th anniversary. Food was sub-par. Service was slow everywhere. One nights dinner was 2hrs long due to service. Staff not friendly. We paid extra for a room with a hot tub that only worked on the first of our 7 night stay. Reported issue every day, never was fixed even though we were told it was fixed everyday. Soaking tube in room leaked entire tub of water all over our floor as the drain was broken. Issue was reported daily with the response that it would be fixed and never was. Manager only reached out to us on our 5th day. Told us he had a few options for us and he would get back to us. Never heard from him again. Their attempt to remedy the inconvenience was laughable. A private dinner on the beach, menu did not look good ( I’m an executive chef by trade) they offered use the base tier menu valued at $150. We spent almost $1500 extra to have the hot tub. In short, never staying at a Royalton again.
