Great, basic place to stay right on the very remote Talalla beach. The staff is so so nice, you immediately feel like at grandma’s home! We went for a grocery shopping together and we ate all the dinners and breakfasts there, because it is the best food! Very recommended.

Delightful place right on the beach with the most spectacular view . Nilmini the bungalow caretaker is such an amazing holiday mom! She makes delicious meals and takes great care of you .

It was April so it was quite hot without AC but should be fine in the other months !

Talalla Bay Beach House is a gem and I felt really happy to be staying there. Emma was absolutely wonderful in communication even before my stay had started which gave me such a great peace of mind before travelling. The location is idyllic, set in the trees overlooking the beautiful beach and sea. You go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves crashing which is so relaxing. To get to the property you walk across the beach and the hosts helped me with my bags which was great and super helpful. Also, as a solo female traveller, I really appreciated the guard keeping a look out when I came back later in the evening when it was dark along the beach. Nilmini's food was absolutely wonderful, home cooked style vegetable curries and rice. Some of the best food I ate in Sri Lanka. Overall, it felt like a (beautiful) home away from home during my travels.

There was nothing I didn't like. I would only say an improvement would be a little TLC in the bathroom perhaps but everything really was gorgeous.

Location, location, location. It was literally three paces, then 10 steps and you’re on the beach/in the sea. The beach is outstanding, very clean and quiet. Highly recommend eating at the house as all the food is cooked fresh, takes them about three hours, and is absolutely delicious.

The only thing to bear in mind is because you are right by the sea, everything is very slightly damp all the time. Not a complaint just to make you aware.

Location, location, location. All staff from manager/cook through to night security men super nice, friendly and above all helpful.

Excellent location couldn’t get any nearer the beach, lovely team of people looking after you, food was excellent and authentic Sri Lanka especially dinner, peaceful and quiet, breakfast was in a beautiful setting , just an awesome atmosphere all the time and smiles all the time from the team.

Not dislike but an observation , the rooms are small and basic and do need some TLC especially the bathroom and balconies but this doesn’t detract from the real beauty and we can always want better. Maybe some hanging space, and louvres on all bedrooms

Incredible location, just a few steps down to the beach. The staff was super attentive and friendly. Nilmini’s food was the best we had in Sri Lanka. She deserves a Michelin star. :) the whole stay was perfect. Thank you.

Talalla Bay Beach House is in a stunning location, right beside the sea, only steps from the beach. There is a lovely peaceful ambience with the sound of the waves and there are comfortable areas to relax around the property. Nilmini and Francis are wonderful hosts, so welcoming and kind. I felt very looked after during my stay. Nilmini’s cooking was delicious and varied - thank you!

Nice, small house with a fewnice but small rooms. Good food, nice people, nice beach, but overall the house and rooms need some maintenance. Given this, we had a lovely stay

We felt very lucky to be staying in such an idyllic place: the best view, incredibly delicious food and lovely ladies looking after us. We loved waking up at sunrise and going for walks along the beach and having many heavenly swims in the sea.

Not a minus, it’s „just“ a homestay though. We had some moskito problems in addition.

Amazing location (i think the best on Talalla beach), hosts are amazing and breakfast is very good. We highly recommend this accomodation and if one day we are back to Talalla, we will be there again.

Our room was a bit tiny for two people and no space for a minium of storage.

Wir bedauern, dass wir nur zwei Nächte gebucht hatten. Sehr gute Kommunikation und Infos. Auch bei der Orga unserer Weiterreise waren sie sehr hilfreich.

It was a special and beautiful place. Nilmini and her crew are amazing people. The food was delicious. Actually I thought it's more like a German-called Ferienhaus. But it isn't. But for me it doesn't matter. I ve really enjoyed it there. Talalla and the beach house is a peacefully and quite place.

Such a wonderful place, at the seaside, cozy rooms with fan, different nice seating places for reading a book. The beach is great to have a morning walk and a swim later. Not crowded, mix tourists and locals, fishing boats… we extended our stay with 2 days. And then we have Milnini and her staff, what a lady and excellent cook, and taking care of everything you need.

Nothing. Airco could be nice but then again the house would loose some of its old seaside charm.

The property is in a stunning location with beautiful views across Talalla Bay, particularly from the upper room we were in. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, the welcome drink was much appreciated and the evening curry we opted for was nice and tasty. The room also had filtered water provided which was great and very environmentally friendly gesture. All in all, an excellent choice and we would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property but a suggested improvement would be providing a kettle and mugs in the room, and maybe a small bar fridge. The staff were able to provide hot water when we asked which was welcomed. We were a little underwhelmed in the breakfast on our first day as it was just fruit and toast, but subsequent days also had an added local Sri Lankan dish which was appreciated by everyone so we certainly recommend that.

Everything was great that we ended up extending our stay.

Slightly pricier than some other guest houses we've stayed in but the location can't be beaten! Was well worth it!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Talalla Bay Beach House that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable beach vacation. From the moment we arrived, we're impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the place, as well as the attentive and friendly hosts. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the gorgeous beach, which was just steps away from the guest house. The sand was soft and clean, and the water was crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Whether we wanted to simply relax on the beach with a good book or take a refreshing swim, we always felt comfortable and at ease in this beautiful setting. The guest house also had excellent food that surpassed our expectations. Every meal was delicious and prepared with care, featuring a variety of fresh and local ingredients. Whether we were in the mood for seafood, vegetables, or something sweet, our hosts Nilmini and Manel always delivered an amazing culinary experience. Finally, we cannot say enough about the helpful and friendly hosts who made our stay so memorable. Thank you Nilmini, Manel, Francis, Vimale and Emma! We can't wait to visit you again!

The rooms and bathrooms could be updated a little bit.

beautiful rooms steps away from the beach. absolutely amazing staff. Nilmini was the sweetest lady ever. also the best cook in Sri Lanka. the food is delicious so make sure you have dinner here when you stay. especially the mango curry!!

the only down thing I’d say is the water for the shower is cold ( didn’t matter too much as it was very hot!) they do provide fans but even two weren’t enough during the night.
