Very nice hotel for a couple of days in Negombo. Owners are very helpful and can arrange anything for you.

Good location, walking distance to a lot of shops and eateries.

I was told the room was ready half an hour after check in time only to be taken there to see the housekeeping still in the process of cleaning the room. Was told to sit and wait and no one came back to inform me when the room was ready. Ants in the room and all over the bath mat. Shower was cold. Room stank like cigarette smoke at night - unsure if someone was smoking near the room. Hotel owner said I could not pay by card and had to pay in cash. Later that day, I saw her processing a card payment for another guest using an eftpos machine. Unsure why it was one rule for him and another rule for me. Hotel owner tried to get me to cancel my booking on booking.com (saying she’d allow the request for free cancellation) and pay directly to accommodation, citing the commission she had to pay. Not my problem, if you don’t want to pay the commission don’t list your property on Booking.com? We left some cash with at reception for safekeeping to pass to a laundry service when they dropped our washed clothes off. When I went to retrieve the money, the owner had misplaced it and mixed it up with her own cash and asked how much we’d given her for safekeeping. Can’t exactly trust it was safekeeping.

Everything . My flights were cancelled 3 times so I decided to stay here for my final night as it’s closer to the airport. Fabulous hospitality from the time I arrived until I left . Great swimming pool . The rooms were also amazing with a hot shower , good size bed and a very good mattress. The town itself has some good restaurants. If you looking for a haircut, hair coloring, pedicure or an amazing manicure please go to sh-WOAH Beaute House .

Un détail, mais il manque des transats au niveau de la piscine. Manque également de quoi mettre 1 ou 2 chaises sur le balcon . Pas de serrure , ni de poignée pour la porte du sanitaire.

Majutusasutus ise oli üldiselt korralik ja tingimused vastasid ootustele. Kahjuks jättis omanik väga ebameeldiva mulje – suhtumine tundus rahakeskne ning kohati jäi tunne, et igast olukorrast püüti maksimaalset kasu välja võtta. See rikkus kogu kogemuse ja jättis teenindusest negatiivse üldmulje. Me ei olnud veel tuppagi saanud, kui omanik palus meil broneeringu tühistada, et ta saaks vältida Bookingu komisjonitasu maksmist. Meil oli algselt broneeritud kaks tuba. Pärast tubade kättesaamist selgus, et neljakesi mahuksime ära ka peretuppa, seega teavitasime omanikku, et võtame ühe toa kahe asemel, ning andsime teise toa võtmed tagasi. Järgmisel hommikul pidime hotellist lahkuma plaanitust varem. Meie esialgne broneering oli viieks ööks ja kahele toale, kuid pärast broneeringu tühistamist nõudis hotelliomanik meilt siiski tasu kahe toa eest kolme öö ulatuses. See oli meie jaoks väga ebameeldiv üllatus, eriti arvestades, et puhkus jäi niigi oodatust lühemaks. Küsisin ka pesupesemise võimaluse kohta. Mulle öeldi, et võin pesu alla tuua ning nad pesevad selle tasu eest ära. Kui uurisin hinda, vastati, et summa selgub hiljem, mis jättis ebakindla ja ebausaldusväärse mulje. Majutusasutusel oli oma restoran. Võimalik, et värske kala on seal hea, kuid meie tellitud toidud olid pettumust valmistavad, ja mitte söödavad. Very friendly, helpful hosts, short walk to the beach

Absolutely best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka, from the fabulous service, the freshest food and lovely rooms and pool. The weather was hot and the pool made our time in Negrombo more comfortable. Judith and Saman were so helpful and lovely. Cooking delicious food and driving us to the airport. Their staff were always attentive. We finished our month long trip here and what a fabulous end. Make sure you order the seafood platter, so fresh and delicious!

By far the best place to start or end an unforgettable trip in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfect, and we will definitely return!

The fact that the bathroom door jammed shut - our arrival time was late at night and had to get staff to open the door.

Staff friendly

We were charged for water. This was not advertised so we assumed it was free. We had just taken out enough cash at the ATM to cover our meals & accommodation, to find water we'd had at dinner was added on. This meant we didn't have enough to pay the taxi to the airport, so had to revisit the ATM - a nuisance adding time (therefore money) to the taxi fare.

The staff all were lovely. A very peaceful dining courtyard. The owners did the cooking, which was good and gave a personal touch. It was not expensive, so the rooms were not fancy, but they had aircon and a fridge. Sri Lanka needs more fridges in rooms! Half a km walk to the beach and shops. I would definitely go back.

The bathroom door didn't close and could have let mozzies in, but they did have a really good mozzie net on the bed.

Cosy family run guesthouse with good a/c and fan and shower. Nice breakfast too.

The owner and staff made my stay very special I was served made to order local food of exceptional taste. I was made to feel like family. Everyone was very friendly. It was very easy to get around the town.

Lovely, homely, welcoming guesthouse, run by a wonderful couple and great staff. Not like a hotel, this is Judith's and Saman's home and business. We arrived as guests and left feeling more like family. The little details matter and they were welcoming, helpful, easy to talk to and the home cooking delightful. They helped arrange a tour of Colombo and airport transfer. Nothing was too much trouble. Don't hesitate, you'll be glad you stayed here, and the more nights you stay the more you'll appreciate what a little gem this is.

The staff were not friendly. When we asked airport transportation, the owner lady tried to convince us for the more expensive option which was more than double the price of what we found later. Expensive option was a van car however normally a Sedan car was enough for us because we were 4 people with small luggages. When we asked for a Sedan option, she didn’t help and only said that van is the only option and we can’t find another. And then we simply found a Sedan which is much much cheaper than she offered. At the beginning, they gave us the wrong room and they wanted to shift us to another room because another family would stay in that room more than one week. We accepted and it’s normally no problem but when I didn’t understand and asked again the reason, the answer of the lady was angry and rude.

Our stay at this guesthouse in Negombo was absolutely delightful! Judith, our host, was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel completely at ease in her beautifully transformed home. The property has a lovely garden with a pool, and our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We were lucky to have a stunning suite with a small balcony and plenty of space for the kids. The breakfast was exceptional—delicious and fresh. Judith went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, even arranging an amazing massage for us. She also gave us excellent advice for our trip, which was so helpful. There’s a small boutique on-site where you can buy gorgeous dresses, which was a pleasant surprise. Judith’s experience of having visited Europe brings a unique, open-minded touch to her hospitality, which I think many European travelers will appreciate. This guesthouse is truly a hidden gem in Negombo, and we highly recommend it!

Building work but it did not disturb us at all

This was an exceptional guest house, beautiful rooms, gardens and swimming pool and I highly recommend it. From my welcome at 12am, greeted by the owner and given tea. My bags had not arrived with me and the next day, my hosts contacted the baggage handlers. Took me to the airport and helped me buy some much needed items. I felt at home the moment I arrived. The owners Sam and Judith were the greatest hosts I have ever experienced in many years of travel. The gardens, the pool, booking, us into an excellent spa and our ongoing travel. Nothing was too much trouble and we spent many hours learning about Sri Lanka and travel options in the country. The food was standout, the new "Judith's Seafood Bistro" was truly amazing. I only ate once outside the guest house, because the food here was so good and so much choice. A big thank you to your beautiful team, who made my stay beyond anything I could have hoped for.

Great option for staying in the more heart of Negombo town before or after flying. Very good facilities throughout the property, and very nice hosts! Will definitely stay here again when next passing through Negombo.

Judith and Sam are amazing hosts. So helpful if Negombo is your first stop and you are finding your feet. Judith organised a tour of the Dutch canal- which was well worth the money. Easy walking distance to main drag. Comfortable beds.

Very nice hosts who ensured I had a comfortable stay. The room was good size, cold AC, had a refrigerator, and was generally in good condition. I didn't use the pool but it looked good. A block away from the main road by the beach so nice and quiet there.

We spent 4 nights at Xiao's and it was exactly what we needed to enjoy our stay in Kuala Lumpur! Infinity pool is amazing, apartment is all you need and Xiao was always nice and responsive. I highly recommend this place!

Holes in the mosquito nets

Ms Judith was very helpful. The food was exceptional. We arrived in the middle of the night and appreciated being able to check in. We enjoyed the boat canal and river tour with Meril that Ms Judith recommended.

Mosquito nets had holes so we used our plug in repellent. The room had a cooker but we had to request a kettle and cups. I don't think we got the apartment we booked.

Host Judith was very welcoming, breakfast on the first day sitting on the terrace was amazing. Like we had the place to ourselves, small but very clean pool. Easy walk to local restaurants and the beach. Could have stayed longer.

This could perhaps be one of my favorite stays in Sri Lanka. The staff and owners are extremely helpful and professional, on my last day they arranged dinner, a taxi to the airport and my laundry! The room i stayed in was spotlessly clean, the Aircon was working perfectly and the shower was the best one I've had. Not to mention the beds who were super comfy and with mosquito nets! Besides that, the pool was great and the homemade dinner by Judith was delicious! Really nothing bad to say at all. If I'd ever come back to Sri Lanka ill definitely stay a few days here again !!

The rooms are clean and got ample space. Had breakfast in the morning. Selection of fruits, English breakfast, traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and essential morning brewed coffee. In room dining available with a menu, with variety of dishes. Again food is exceptional.

This was a lovely spot to start our holiday. We were made to feel welcome and were so well looked after. The airport pick-up was great and Judith arranged a drop off for us at Colombo Fort Station. The beach was only a 5 minute walk away and it was an easy tuk tuk ride into the centre. We really enjoyed our stay. The pool was great!!

Staff were really helpful and accommodating. Room was big and clean. No bugs / mosquitoes or dampness which we've seen in other places in Sri Lanka. A/C worked really well and there is a nice small pool at the front that guests can use.

4 big cockroaches welcommed us in a room. Prices for minibar are not provided. So be prepared to pay as much as the staff ask

The bed was a double matress not a single matress. That made a gap in the bed, but no big problem

You should know that in Sri Lanka and also in this Property you will not find a mini bar menu. All the drinks will be charged extra and the price is nowhere written.

Excellent place to stay in Negombo, especially when en route to and from airport at beginning or end of stay. Great location very close to beach, restaurants, transport to centre etc. Beautiful clean and cool rooms, plus a lovely pool to cool off in. Judith and Sam provide excellent service; Judith is a great cook if you choose to eat in their pretty garden by the pool, and Sam is a knowledgeable guide with lots of stories. They also provide a taxi service to and from the airport. We loved staying here for our last two nights in Sri Lanka and would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Everything was perfect

Wonderful property and excellent staff.

This was my worst trip. It was a scam from beginning to end. At the beginning, I was asked to pay cash when I checked in, saying that there was a handling fee for swiping the card, and then I paid cash. The next day when I checked out, I said that I didn't pay cash and didn't leave. (The day before yesterday, I wanted me to book their chartered car. I didn't think it was too expensive and didn't agree. Then I checked out in the morning and asked me if I wanted their car first. Then I said no, so I didn't pay the room fee... routine) and then talked about a lot of no. Their hotel was not monitored, and there was no evidence at all. Because I also had to catch up with other itineraries, so it was really the worst hotel. I suggested that everyone can't come to this hotel.

Location and no willingness to make dinner for a one person

Wonderful owners who make you feel like your at home. Spacious rooms with excellent aircon. Superking four poster bed. Television with English channels, fridge and a little balcony to relax on. Wet room shower which was very nice. Breakfast was extremely good and plentiful. What I must add is Judith the owner and her husband are renowned for their food, we ate off the evening menu on two occasions and I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed, it was by far the best food we had eaten in negombo and we love our food. Having a swimming pool is an added bonus especially with such hot weather. When I have finished my trip around Sri Lanka I will stop here before flying on to my next destination

We really enjoyed our stay at the Suriya Arana. The room was very nice and perfect for a family of 4. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. It was in a great location to explore Negombo and it is not far from the airport (25min in an Uber). The owners and staff were very friendly. The breakfast was amazing. Loved it!

They picked me up from the airport very late—so friendly and kind. Really cool house with layers of levels. Beautiful outdoor seating area and pool. They custom make a nice breakfast with toast, eggs, fruit, coffee, etc. Location is in a quiet area, set back from the main road with heaps of cafes and a small grocery store. I went running and it felt very safe, so much within walking distance, including the beach.

Wifi was out, but they were working on it. Otherwise, a great place to stay coming and going from the airport.

I had a lovely stay at Suriya Arana. It was clean and quaint. The owners were very nice, helpful, and the service was great. The whole atmosphere at the hotel is serene & beautiful. I especially liked their airport pick up and drop off service. My visit was relaxing and very enjoyable.

The stay was absolutely amazing. Judith was so accommodating and her staff were all so attentive and kind. The property was tranquil and serene, it was a perfect place to begin and end my trip. The room was quiet and had A/C, mini fridge, great shower with hot water, big bathroom, big cozy bed with mosquito net and a window opening to the garden. The food was fresh and delicious, it was so nice to have everything I needed at the hotel. I’ll definitely be returning!
