The owner Claudine and mager Nikolia were charming and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed a lovely home cooked 3 course dinner . We used their driver Vario for our collection and return to Airport a great service. Totally recommend Varaba , 5 stars from us.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Close to Airport - 10min cab ride 25 EURO. Offered a meal, which we didn't take as we went to the mall (20min drive away), but great to be offered and this Guest House is in the middle of a rural area. Beds were comfortable. Everything very clean. Nespresso machine available.
The long-life milk for coffee/tea - would have been nice to have fresh, although I understand why this is. Also would have been good to have a continental breakfast option due to location.

Ce qui est surprenant, c’est vraiment une country House et pas un hôtel . Prix élevé car nous avions pris avec petit déjeuner mais attention le petit déjeuner est servi dès 8h Donc si on se lève très tôt pour prendre l’avion, il n’y a pas de petit déjeuner possible et le checking n’est pas 24 heures sur 24 ( ceci est spécifié dans la description.

Nothing really about the property, location was problematic as taxis were few and far between and no way to get to the property without them. We got a taxi to Porto Rafti but no one wanted to take us back. It was a Sunday afternoon so that didn’t help. In the end we got the bus back to the nearest town and then got a local taxi to the house.

Reviewed Sep 5, 2026Beautiful house but I arrived after sunset and left before sunrise do didn't really have chance to see ot properly. Help booking cars to and from airport in advance was really helpful. The note left in room for me was very sweet and a nice touch.
The only thing that bothered me was as a lone female traveller I would have preferred to have had more details about how many other people were staying there so that the noises I heard weren't unexpected!

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026The House was a good choice for a quick turn around to the airport. We enjoyed the rural setting and enjoyed a home cooked meal. Our host Nikolai was helpful and friendly. We walked into town which took us 35 minutes each way discovering pistachios trees, grape vines, fig and olive trees.
Only negative was we had the upstairs room which is like a loft with slanted roof. My husband is tall and kept bumping his head !

Camere ampie e dotate di molti accessori di pregio (boiler, cialde di caffè, ciabatte, asciugamani di qualità),TV con canali digitali, letti comodi, bagni confortevoli e puliti. Accoglienza sorridente da parte di Nikolia, gentile, disponibile e attenta ad ogni nostra esigenza. Villa con sette camere di varia metratura, molto ben ristrutturata e arredata con gusto. Ambienti spaziosi e curati sia all'interno che all'esterno. Colazione buona e servita con puntualità. Possibilità di cenare in struttura con pietanze tipiche greche. Non è un luogo in cui fare "vacanze" perché è in piena campagna e lontano da tutto, ma è il miglior luogo in cui concludere le vacanze se si rientra con un volo. Si tenga conto che è indispensabile avere un'automobile per potersi muovere anche nei dintorni.

Die Unterkunft ist so schön bzw. hat so ein entspanntes Flair, dass wir am liebsten länger als nur eine Nacht geblieben wären. Aber wir haben diese Unterkunft in der Nacht vor unserem Abflug genutzt, was auf Grund der Lage ideal war und dann der perfekte Abschuss unserer 2 wöchigen Griechenland Reise. Es gibt nicht viel außen herum, daher hatten wir entschieden auch dort zu Abend zu essen und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Es gab ein landestypisches 3 Gang Menü, und auch auf uns als Vegetarier wurde eingegangen. Wir können diese Unterkunft zu 100% empfehlen. Auch war alles sehr sauber!!

The beds were very comfortable, and we were warmly welcomed with delicious homemade wine. They also helped us order dinner and arranged our airport transfer, which made everything so easy. A special thank you to Nikolii for all the kindness and help. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this lovely place!♥️🇬🇷🇺🇦🇺🇸

Order their dinner, you won’t regret it! Delicious meal in a lovely seating with a view of an olive grove. Very friendly staff and animals! 12th century 24 hour church just a few steps away from the accommodation towards the olive groves and vineyards, so beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026Great to have a taxi organised from the airport to the hotel and back again early morning. The room was lovely, comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was great as was the evening meal. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is perfect for a stopover but it does not have anything close by if you want something to eat. We had not had lunch and arrived about 3 pm - tried to order takeaway by phone but difficult in English. When staff arrived to cook dinner about 4.30 they gave us some wine and biscuits which was much appreciated!

Really close to the airport but felt you were right out in the country being surrounded by olive groves. The beds & pillows were so comfy & I thoroughly recommend taking them up on the dinner offer, three choices of mains a starter & desert, really tasty & such good value. Tip… although Uber quote a cheaper price than Varaba for their private shuttle by the time the Uber driver rerouted to avoid the gravel road the price worked out exactly the same. Next time I will just use their shuttle. This definitely will become our go to place to stay near Athens airport, thank you for a perfect 10/10 stay.

Con restricciones alimenticias, se complica el desayuno. No pudiendo comer ni gluten ni lácteos, me quedé con 1 huevo y cereal seco (comuniqué mis intolerancias de antemano).

We had a fabulously prepared greek meal with local wines in the evening. Our room was stunning and we will definately stay again. Thank you for looking after us so well and arranging our taxi to the airport.

Lovely comfortable bed, super clean room, and great breakfast right on time at 0930 as per our request. Super fast internet. Taxi back to the airport to pick up our hire car - also perfect! This place is a gem.

Ho soggiornato per la seconda volta e purtroppo questa volta ho ricevuto una camera piccolissima, si faceva fatica a muoversi con le valige. Anche il bagno era molto angusto. Non la consiglio e suggerisco di verificare prima. Il luogo è molto rumoroso a causa della vicinanza dell'aeroporto e di notte non è facile dormire, ma questo è inevitabile visto il tipo di struttura appositamente pensata per chi deve prendere un volo.

Reviewed Jun 4, 2026Kleine hübsche Pension im Nirgendwo, was wir aber wussten. Was uns nicht klar war, das man sich selber genügend Essen und Trinken mitnehmen sollte. Wir hatten das sogenannte, traditionelle griechische Abendessen mitgebucht, weil ja im Nirgendwo. Der Preis für das was wir bekamen, war überhaupt nicht gerechtfertigt. Man bekommt seine Portion zum Tisch gebracht und mehr gibt es nicht. Nachbartisch konnte sich was vom Lieferservice bestellen, das war die bessere Wahl. Wussten wir leider nicht. Wer morgens viel Hunger hat, sollte auch da vorsorgen, gibt sehr wenig und nachordern geht nämlich auch nicht. Zimmer war ok, allerdings sehr kalt ( war eher so im Keller ), und dann nur dünne Betttücher, zum Glück im Schrank noch Decken gefunden. Für eine Nacht war es ok. Was sehr gut geklappt hat, war der Transfer, da gibt es nichts zu meckern.
Gastgeber sind nicht immer vor Ort. Man sollte gut alleine klar kommen.

Reviewed May 31, 2026Away from the hustle bustle, nestled in amongst the olive and pistachio trees! Guests from all parts of the world allowed us to mingle at supper and socialize🙂. High quality facility—bed/shower,etc.
We had the room that was located at the entrance and off the lobby, so it wasn’t’t as private as others might be.

Reviewed May 25, 2026I landed at the country house on the last night of my busy two week trip in beautiful Greece. Words cannot adequately describe the sense of calm and relaxation I felt upon entering this beautiful property. I was greeted by Nikolia, the on-site manager, who showed me around and to my room, and then offered complementary wine to enjoy before dinner. I opted for the traditional Greek dinner which was over the top delicious. The Varaba Country House works with two drivers who they will schedule at your request for Airport transfers and ride services to other parts of the city. I have a very early morning flight so I was not able to enjoy the provided breakfast. Staying at the Varaba Country House was a perfect way to wrap up a perfect visit to Greece. I highly recommend at least a one night stay, you won’t regret it!

Reviewed May 19, 2026La habitación estaba limpísima y habia muchos amenities. Bien decorado y se ve que se había reformado recientemente. Todo muy mono. Los jabones huelen genial. El trato de Nikolia es excelente y muy cercana.
Llegar al alojamiento es un poco complicado aunque claro, por el entorno en el que está, es normal.

La cercanía al aeropuerto hace que se oiga bastante el ruido de los aviones. Aunque precisamente por esa cercanía elegimos el alojamiento. Todo no se puede tener.

Reviewed May 15, 2026A fantastic find! We stayed in the delux room at the back with a private entrance- fabulous shower room! The staff were super friendly, we were offered a complimentary drink - given half a carafe of wine. We didn’t have dinner but complimentary breakfast served 8-10am was appreciated. If ever needing a hotel close to Athens airport I would choose this one again.

Reviewed May 12, 2026So lovely! A great contrast to the city. It was the best place ever to wind down from our month visiting the Cyclades islands. We were taken care of and could mentally prepare to return home. They fed us a traditional Greek dinner on the veranda with the other guests. The property is very convenient to the airport (which also means you can hear the planes coming and going🤷🏻♀️)and they have a taxi service they work with. It was all stress free. So beautiful!

קרוב מאד לנמל התעופה אבל נמצא באמת במקום כפרי עם כביש משובש שקשה למצוא בלילה.
