In a good location.

The safe in the room is basically on the floor. One has to lie flat on the floor to open it. The lounges & umbrellas at the pool are falling apart.

Perfect location of me

It was atrocious, no hot water for 4 days. Toilets continuously running door handles came off. nails sticking out and boards missing around the pool. Water running out of the a/c and making the tiles very dangerous. Safes would not work. Water leaking from the roof in the bathroom in 3 rooms. Rooms were not booked properly. Gave us a room and put someone else in the next day. Very unsafe place and need and needs a lot of work Still waiting on booking.com to contact me I don’t know how you can give us 400 odd for 13 people and think that this is acceptable! In Australia we would not be allowed to let some one stay in a place with no hot water for several days. Also one of outlet travellers were given a master key for all rooms cause they could not fix his room key. How many other people would have this and be able to walk into our rooms. We also had to get the rooms clyagain before we even went in there it was very dirty. Please contact me on 0456922938

The hotel has not done maintenance on the pool area. Dangerous wooden boards. Service & food standard needs to improve The staff keep the rooms clean.

There was nothing to like about this property.

I have stayed here when it was Zest, it was clean, simple and with amazing staff. We booked it this time for one night while waiting for a late flight, expecting somewhere to leave our bags, use the pool in the heat, shower and freshen up, and have a bed for the kids to rest. Unfortunately, it is nothing like it was previously. In my opinion, the property is now a serious health and safety hazard. There was mould, urine stains, broken items, a cloudy pool and a rooftop deck that was uneven and breaking through. The chairs were sun-damaged and broken, and the fence was extremely rusted and wobbly. I would be genuinely concerned someone could lean against it and fall from the roof. The room was equally unacceptable, with mould in the pillows, a urine stain on the mattress, stained bedding and a strong mould smell - I actually purchased cleaning products so I could clean the shower floor before using it. What was once a clean, simple and well-run budget hotel has deteriorated significantly. I would not recommend staying here in its current condition.

So dirty. Staff need to be cleaning more. Towels smelt. Linen has holes in it. When you get into bed it feels greasy. Does not feel clean and fresh. Bathroom tiles and door unclean. Dinning room cushions need a deep clean they are all stained and dirty. Pool was closed for at least a third of our stay.

Very dirty. Towels smelt, dirty bathrooms, when you climb into bed, the sheets feel greasy, not fresh and clean. Swimming pool closed several times - for 2 days at a time. Dinning room cushions extremely stained and dirty. Couch in lobby broken.

Bathroom was dirty, soap scum and mould in the shower. Floors filthy, mould on the walls over bed head. Window roller blind was literally falling apart when being used

Definitely gone down since palette take over, pool steps green, decking dangerous such a shame for one if my favourite places. Hopefully they will do some renovations. Great value for price though.

Had a lot of hassles checking in as the staff's English was not good but upgraded to a balcony room next day. Unfortunately, there were no towels in the room and had to wait 3 hours and 2 phone calls before a towel arrived. Very disappointed that neither the hotel or the bar restaurant accepted card payment only cash. Fridges are very small, don't like the card system for power to the room. I think that tea and coffee making facilities should be added to the rooms to bring it up to standard with other hotels. Safe is easy to operate and use. No hot water to the vanity basin.

Wouldn’t let us check in prior to 2pm! Couldn’t sit by the pool to wait as it was closed for maintenance! Didn’t offer us any other option except to come back at 2!

The location

The rooftop infinity pool is amazing. The open air dining room is cool. The icecream fridge is also cool. It is very affordable in the middle of Legian, close to the beach. The housekeeping staff were very trustworthy.

The pool had no towels and no service. I would have liked to have eaten and ordered beverages poolside. You can hear the pool pump constantly. The dining staff were inattentive if not disinterested. It was not possible to pay for dining by card so I often dined elsewhere.

Unfortunately NOTHING this time We will never stay again . Stayed here on 3 previous occasions everything was ok . I guess new management has definitely made a difference in the worst possible way

Booked and paid for Several months prior . For 4x balcony rooms . Only to find they had given away the rooms we booked and paid for when we arrived ( no refund offered) still charged rate of balcony rooms.If they had told us when we arrived at 10am we could of found alternate accommodation instead didn’t inform us until check in at 2pm They finally offered spa ( foot) massages to our group only delay the time so we had no time to have them before our dinner booking . Which they knew about. SHEETS & PILLOW cases were FILTHY. One room had no toilet paper on check in would have been quicker to go out and buy our own . Bed in my sister room collapsed when sat on . All towels were horrible grey colour not white.

While staff tried their best and were friendly , the cleanliness of the room , linen and towels left a lot to be desired. The govern was changed twice in my time as a guest. The towels and linen were old and stained and the pillows were old and lumpy. There was no kettle so I bought my own. The pool was leaking onto the floor I stayed him, level 3 and the yellow marker of leaks was there for my whole stay with a towel catching the leaks. The elevators were dirty as was the floors.

Had balcony room air conditioning flat out was hardly working very uncomfortable room extremely hot all rooms air-conditioning are very old need replacing , down sized room just to get little bit coolness from aircond that worked , large bed mattress balcony room were 2 beds joined together and sunk into which made it even hotter, pillows were hard and very thick and dirty , pool area is very old and dirty went nearby hotel to use other pool facilities , staff not understood English using mainly kids to run the hotel. , security was sleeping most times don’t rely on him for anything , breakfast was a shambles plain basic rice with egg and coffee taste bad

Could check in late at night and breakfast included the next day.

We checked in with our friends separately, we ended up getting 3 individual rooms we needed 2 and our friends needed 1. We were giving 2 rooms on different floors and told they couldn’t get two rooms together but our friends room was literally across the hall on one of the floors so why didn’t we get the 2 rooms on the same floor and our friends got the other floor. Also was very noisy in the morning with hundreds of kids in the hallway.

Pool shut down again for maintenance, seems to be a regular thing the 2 times I visited this year. Also the quality of room clean has slipped a lot since the zest days. Towels seems hard and dirty, bedding old and stained .

The hotel could benefit from a thorough deep clean. The walls, doors, bathrooms and bed linen all appeared to need more attention to cleanliness.

Big, comfy bed. Cable TV and hot shower. Rooftop swimming pool was very good. It is value for money and in a good position.

Front desk looked a bit shabby. Flowers or statues would have been good or maybe a Bali painting. Breakfast needs more variety of tropical fruit and hot tea, not just coffee. Plates had chips in them and cutlery was hard to find. Couches need reupholstering. It is looking a bit unloved and needs a renovation. Towels could be newer without holes.

As i had stayed here when it was zest,I feel it needs ro be freshened up with paint. I really feel the steel rail up stairs near the pool REALLY need to be fixed before some one leans on them and falls off the roof and dies. The decking around the pool needs to be addressed as well.

I've stayed at this property for years when it was Zest. Once it changed management to Palette unfortunately it will be my last stay here. Poor service, too many things went wrong time and time again. There are many other options in Legian at the same price point that are far better. Try looking at other properties would be my recommendation if you're planning on staying in Legian.

Great value hotel stayed for 14 nights in excellent location of legian great restaurant choices and the beach a short walk away staff are very friendly and helpful room was clean and comfortable not a huge room but who lives in there room when on holidays. Roof top pool is cool.

The people at reception was always helpful and tried to accommodate our request for change of rooms.

The property was not clean and the linen was dirty and had holes in the bedding as well as the bath towels. Air conditioning was subpar.

It was very central for shopping, restaurants/bars and the beach and the rooftop pool was lovely

The restaurant/bar ran out of Bintang early in the evening and they kept getting our orders wrong

The best thing about this property is the location.

Booked and paid for a room with a balcony and once checked in and handed the keys we got to our room and all we had was a window with a view to a balcony with no access. We only booked this hotel so we could have a shower before our flight home. I went down to the desk and mentioned we had paid for a room with a balcony and only then did the guy on the front desk tell us there were none available. I told him that we should not have been able to book the room if it wasn’t available and he could have at least mentioned it to us when handing us the key. He told me they would refund 150,000rp however he later told us that the management denied this request so they kept our money and did nothing to rectify the issue. Bathrooms are absolutely filthy and could do with some bleach and a scrub. Pool area old and furniture looks like it’s been handed down 17 generations. Sat at the restaurant to have a meal for lunch and the girl behind the bar gave us a smile and looked back at whatever she was doing only one other person seated and we left after 10 minutes to eat elsewhere)

The staff were great, breakfast had a good selection. Ask for a room away from the street noise.

The rooms could do with a coat of paint and new wall paper which was peeling.The pool on the roof could do with some cover, the water was warm. For the price it was ok.

The rooftop pool is large and has lounges and umbrellas. It is clean. I didn't use it this time but have many times in the past. It's a great location not far from the beach plenty of shop and restaurants around. The staff are always friendly. Even though it needs maintenance it is still good value for money and we love the location.

I have stayed here from the opening of this hotel (formerly ZEST) and it is gradually declining. The beds are saggy. The aircon did not work well. The staff did offer me another room. Showers need deep cleaning and drains need cleaning (don't drain properly). Breakfast is adequate. Coffee not so good and juice is like cordial. The towels have been dyed grey , a good idea as before there were obviously washed in poor quality water like the sheets and were grey.

Fue demasiado desagradable llegar y ver que estaba demasiado sucio el baño, los espejos del baño salpicados, la ducha de vidrio estaba muy sucia, con partes negras en las esquinas, hasta la puerta del baño estaba sucia, se notaba que no se limpiaba hace mucho. Y otras partes de la habitación que no era agradable ni de tocar. Mucho por mejorar. Se escuchaba demasiado el ruido de la calle y de los pasillos.

We have been staying here ever since this place was built. were always given a kettle and two mugs on request so that we could make a cuppa in our room. we were told they didn’t have any kettles. We know the hotel had changed hands but sometimes it pays to take care of your regular guests we come at least twice a year to stay. Smoking and vaping behind the bar was very unacceptable to my husband and myself. Why have no smoking signs up then put ash trays on the tables . The kitchen staff and waiters were great

The reviews on Booking.com and photos were misleading. We booked 2 nights here in a panic after our flight out was canceled. Unfortunately this hotel is in need of a lot of care and attention. Damp walls and peeling paint. Bad smells. There also doesn't seem to be many people working there. Stained sheets. Broken fixtures. We had to ask for another room because the air con started to leak on the floor and the shower was broken. The new owners should do better... It's not fair on staff or guests to keep the place in such poor condition.
