Hotel Lake Park

De locatie van dit hotel is fantastisch. Je kijkt uit op een mooi meer waar je een bootsafari kan doen. In de avond kwamen er zelfs een aantal olifanten voorbij lopen op zo'n 5 meter afstand van het hek. Het personeel staat altijd voor je klaar om je te helpen. De oude stad is dichtbij en is goed per fiets of tuktuk bereikbaar.

Er zitten nogal wat vogels in de bomen die rond 18 uur behoorlijk veel geluid maken, maar ja, dat is de natuur waarin je leeft.

superbe vue depuis l'hôtel, on peut y voir des éléphants au loin et l'hôtel propose une balade en bateau en fin de journée qui est confortable, peu cher (25 USD pour 2 personnes) et qui nous a permis de voir 6-8 éléphants en très petit comité et toute sécurité.

le seul point dommage et qu'au vu du nombre important d'oiseaux stationnant dans les arbres de l'hôtel, toute la cours et le pourtour de la piscine et recouvert de déjection, idem pour l'eau de la piscine. pour autant je ne proposerai pas d'essayer d'enlever ces arbres et oiseaux qui donne du charme à l'endroit.

Pool needed a clean

Elephants on the door step, was magical! I will never get over sitting in the pool with a beer and being able to watch wild elephants. The pool was a good size. The owner sorted out our transport and safari for a fantastic price and it ran seamlessly.

The location is exceptional, the bird life around the lake is fab and we saw elephants (through binoculars) on the opposite bank. It's peaceful and I loved looking at the lake with my coffee first thing in the morning. Close to the ancient city site and handy for a minneriya safari. Comfortable, slightly rustic rooms (we were in a huge triple room over looking the lake) There is a pool which is a great addition. Absolute value for money with great staff.

Chambre spacieuse et propre, bonne literie. Personnel très agréable. Nous avons fait une balade sur le lac, un safari et loué des vélos pour visiter Polonnaruwa en passant par eux. Le petit déjeuner est très complet et le rice and curry le soir, délicieux et très varié. Mais surtout ce que nous avons aimé, c'est cette ambiance de bout du monde avec ce jardin et cette piscine donnant sur le lac et effectivement tous ces oiseaux, que certains n'ont pas aimés, mais qui ajoutent au charme et à l'atmosphère si particulière du lieu. Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour !

Natascha maakt dit familiehotel helemaal af! Wat een prachtige plek aan het meer waar varanen aan land komen en aan de overkant zagen we een groep olifanten in hun natuurlijke habitat. Heerlijk ontbijt en curries!! Een prachtig ruim zwembad. Al met al een heerlijke plek om tot ontspanning te komen.

Prachtige plek midden in de natuur. Aan de overkant zagen we in de middag en ochten olifanten. Als je geluk hebt komen ze voor de deur. Mooie kamers, prachtig uitxicht. Kamer was niet stil, maar dat komt door de enorme hoeveelheid kraaien, dus geluid was puur natuur geen auto's. Lekker zwembad. Eten zowel in de avond als ontbijt was goed. Lunch pakketje besteld voor onderweg in de taxi. Taxi voor 5 personen niet te vinden, gelukkig schoot het hotel te hulp en regelde vervoer. Echt een aanrader.

Je voyage souvent entre de grands hôtels et aussi dans des Guesthouse house mais le service est digne d’un 5 étoiles. On cherche à rendre votre séjour des plus agréable en répondant à vos demandes de manière honnête et bienveillante. Je crois que c’est le meilleur service que j’ai été amené à rencontrer après quelques années de voyage en Asie. Un immense merci.

Die Aussicht auf den See und der Garten mit den vielen Vögeln ist wunderschön. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Das WLAN war extrem schlecht, wir hatten zum Glück Mobile Daten auf dem Handy. Das Hotel liegt auch extrem außerhalb.

Hotel was a very good choice particularly the location right by the lake. My family really enjoyed the evening boat trip (that the hotel can arrange) to see the wildlife (including the possibility of elephants – we saw three) and generally soak up the atmosphere. The hotel also hooked us up with a very good tuk-tuk driver for the our sightseeing.

Het uitzicht was mooi. Het personeel is vriendelijk.

Het was niet hygiënisch. Onze kamer was vies toen we aankwamen, overal aarde op de grond en schimmel in de douche. Daarnaast lekte de airco waardoor er een plas water naast het bed ontstond. Verder was de kamer wel lekker ruim. Buiten was pas waar het echt flink tegenviel. Er zijn enorm veel kraaien waardoor je niet fijn buiten kan zitten. Er ligt op het gehele buiten terrein vogelpoep, ook op de zwembad randen en dus waarschijnlijk ook deels in het zwembad. Daarnaast poepen de kraaien ook op de bedjes terwijl je er ligt! Extreem vies dus… Om het nog af te maken lag er ook poep op mijn placemat in het restaurant. Het ziet er op de foto’s wel aantrekkelijk uit en zeker voor die prijs maar wij zijn wegens bovenstaande na 1 nacht vertrokken aangezien dit echt geen vakantiegevoel was.

Está situado en un lugar muy bonito a orillas de un lago. Las instalaciones están muy bien, la cama era cómoda y el personal es muy amable y servicial.

Tout est bcp trop long comme partout au Sri Lanka le petit dej , le dîner au secours , on nous ramène le café à la fin du petit dej ça gâche tout . Il n’y a que le manager qui parle anglais c’est très compliqué Pour les phobiques des oiseaux changez d’endroit , c’est la nature certes mais tous ces corbeaux n’ont rien de mignons et les cacas d’oiseaux très peu pour moi . Je pense que c’est rare de voir un Elephant

L’hôtel a un très bel emplacement, la piscine est limpide, le personnel de l’hôtel est très agréable et disponible. On nous a laissé Check-in en avance dans nos chambre et l’accueil nous a même organisé un tour dans les ruines. Les chambres sont spacieuse et la salle de bain est belle. C’est super d’observer la faune depuis le jardin, qui bénéficie par ailleurs d’une superbe vue.

Les chambres méritent cependant un rafraîchissement, elles sont un peu vétustes et nos draps étaient troués.

I loved the location. Right on the lake. We were close to the ancient city and hired bikes and rode there from the hotel, which was really fun. The hotel staff were amazing and really helped me organise my stay. We booked a few trips through them including the boat safari, which was amazing as we saw an elephant and local fishermen, as well as the bikes and a safari to Kaudulla NP with Damith where we saw over a hundred elephants and lots of baby elephants. The hotel also booked our transport to and from the hotel which was very reasonably priced. The rooms were large and clean. We loved all the mongooses around the hotel too. The pool was clean and very welcome.

There is a bit of construction going on which didn’t bother us too much and will be good when it’s finished. We didn’t love the crows. It’s not the hotel’s fault that there are so many but they are a bit creepy.

This is a small, family-owned hotel. It is reasonably close to the archaeological sites and faces Parakrama Samudra Lake. Initially, I was concerned because I had seen some reviewers complain about mosquitoes. However, during my stay, I did not experience any mosquito issues. I travelled in May. It is a great place if you want to wind down and enjoy some calm and tranquillity. The food was also good. At this price point, it offers good value, and you are unlikely to be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a more refined stay, this may not be the right place for you.

- Unfortunately, the property is a little run-down due to neglect by the previous management. However, the young lady who is the current owner mentioned that they are slowly working on improving it. - The room did not have a TV or a mini fridge. In a hot climate like Polonnaruwa, it would have been nice to have a mini fridge to keep drinks cool.

Located next to a lake, it's like you are in the middle of nature, you could see different types of birds, squirrels, even fireflies. As I was travelling with a kid, these were fascinating scenes, which we don't get to see in the concrete jungle. The pool is facing the lake, and the swim was relaxing.

The food can be better

Hotel Lake Park is a lovely hotel in an absolutely amazing location, you are a stone’s throw from the lake, and it is like staying in the middle of a national park with all the wildlife around (egrets, pelicans, mongoose!). The food is good and the staff are very kind and helpful. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at Hotel Lake Park and would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking to explore Polonnaruwa, or just somewhere to relax and enjoy Sri Lankan nature!

The hotel does need a bit of TLC, for example, there is an unfinished first floor above the rooms and the AC unit was held together by a plaster. The beds also need mosquito nets (that said, we did not get bitten in the rooms, despite being next to water). However, everything is clean, they have nice bathrooms and kettles + tea/coffee in the rooms

The hotel is beautifully located by the lake and large trees provide shade.

There are many crows in the trees and bird droppings are all over the seats and tables. You have to be careful not to get hit by bird droppings. The water in the pool is cloudy so we did not use it.

La vista del lago es increíble y puedes ver varios animales pasear por el jardín durante el día. La habitación es amplia y muy cómoda, al igual que el baño. El chico de la recepción nos ayudó con todo lo que necesitábamos y más.

Había algunos insectos en la habitación y el agua de la ducha no siempre calentaba. El desayuno es un poco desorganizado, se demoran mucho en traer cada cosa.

I am a nature lover, so having a room just in front of the lake was amazing. I woke up early and nicely with the sounds of birds and sunrise.

The room itself seemed old as I saw a lot of cracks on the wooden floor, showing long history of the building. The food was nice with tourist standard price.

房价不贵，却是在斯里兰卡我住过的最喜欢的酒店，距离古城有点距离，但完全也不需要出去。酒店位于湖边的一片湿地，好几种鸟在这儿的大树上栖息，鸟们成群地盘旋和鸣叫时非常震撼，此外还看到了松鼠、黄鼬、水牛，运气好时听说还能看到大象，动物们在这里悠闲地踱步来去，和人类和谐共处。在这可以同时欣赏到日出和日落，旁晚泡在泳池里等待日落和早晨在鸟鸣中看书等待日出都是非常幸福的体验，酒店还提供划船看日出日落的活动。房间举架很高，特别敞亮，隔着大落地窗，在房间里就可以欣赏湖景和路过的动物，房间装饰风格简约古朴，床也很舒适。晚餐出乎意料地好吃、有锅气，所以不需要外出就餐。前台的工作人员，有求必应，解决各种问题都利落靠谱。我眼里，这家酒店只有各种优点，没有任何缺点。

the hotel is very closed to Pollonaruwa archeological site (10 mins by tuktuk), the location is very quite and the lake view in the morning was very nice

De ligging aan het meer is fantastisch. We vroegen om fietsen en die stonden klaar voor ons.

De laundry service kan ik niet aanbevelen. Ik kreeg de was deels vuil terug. Blijkbaar was het met de hand gewassen. Als ik dat had geweten had ik het ook zelf kunnen doen.

We spent a wonderful two nights at this lovely place. It's right by the lake with lots of wildlife. Everything was lovely, the room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and garden area were great and it was an amazing place to relax surrounded by nature. We enjoyed several meals here. They also arranged a boat trip on the lake, we were lucky to see elephants from the boat and we stayed nearby to enjoy watching them for a good time, which was an amazing and peaceful way to watch the elephants without disturbing them. I would have loved to stay longer!

Fantastiskt mysigt läge vid en sjö. Nära till alla spännande sevärdheter i Pollonnaruwa, men ändå avskilt och lugnt. Fint poolområde. Restaurang med god mat och dryck. Litet och personligt.

Tvättservicen var inte bra. Kläderna var antingen smutsiga, eller hade krympt. Annars var allt kanon!

Hotel direkt am See gelegen, leckeres Frühstück (englisch oder Srilankanisch), es ist ein Pool vorhanden der allerdings nicht von uns genutzt wurde da des geregnet hat und bei näherem Blick haben wir viele kleine Unterwasser Tiere gesehen. Großes, geräumiges Zimmer mit AC und Ventilator. Ein schöner Blick direkt auf den See. Im Restaurant konnte man leckeres Essen bestellen.

Kein Kühlschrank/ Safe vorhanden. Sauberkeit in der Dusche eher dürftig. Hotelanlage etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber trotzdem noch ok

Leuk restaurantje en tuin om van zonsondergang te genieten over het meer. Met een beetje geluk komen kun je wilde dieren spotten aan de rand van de tuin. Prima zwembad om nog even te ontspannen. Niet ver van oude centrum.

Fijn hotel met schone kamers, goede warme douche en goede airco. Prima ontbijt. Mooi uitzicht op het meer. Fijn zwembad. Fijne bankjes buiten voor de deur. Olifanten te zien op afstand, helaas niet bij het hek tijdens ons verblijf.

Diner viel een beetje tegen. Ook geen restaurants in de buurt. Koelkast was fijn geweest.

Desde el minuto 1 que llegamos a este hotel ha sido una locura. Nos recibieron con bebida típica de Sri Lanka y fueron muy amables. Las instalaciones son preciosas. Vivimos uno de los atardeceres más bonitos que he visto en mi vida desde el jardín al lado de la piscina. Se ve todo el Lago y es precioso. El sonido de las aves. El personal muy atento con nosotras. El desayuno es súper completo con frutas, huevo, salchichas, pan, leche, café… todo riquísimo y super atentos! Ojalá si vuelvo a venir a Srilanka volver a este hotel. Un 10 💗

Las Habitaciones son algo antiguas y suele haber mucho ruido de pájaros desde primera hora.

Sehr schöne Anlage, die etwas abgelegen, aber dafür schön ruhig ist. Der Pool ist ein nettes extra und passt gut zum schönen Ambiente. Man sollte sich allerdings nachts etwas auf/in die Ohren machen. Zur Dämmerung können die Vögel sehr laut werden.
