Travelodge Gatwick Airport Central

Great experience will definetly consider booking again for early morning flights from Gatwick rooms clean beds very comfortable staff friendly.

I was quickly checked into my family room, which was a large double room on the four floor with a view of Gatwick Airport. The room had tea and coffee and a TV and heating and the bathroom had a large bath tub and shower. Very convenient and close to Gatwick Airport Terminals.

Quiet room. Food was lovely. Staff on reception and in the restaurant were very welcoming.

To be honest I stay here fairly regularly it’s been recently refurbished great well stocked breakfast and restaurant … the rooms are good size with en-suite bathroom and tv … comes highly recommended

We both had the sizzling chicken, which came with thick cut chips, corn on the cob and salad. All was much better quality than we expected from a travelodge restaurant. The room was spacious and very accessible for my partners wheelchair. Including a shower wet room. Receptionist staff were exceptionally helpful as well.

We arrived at Gatwick Airport Hotel to a warm welcome after a long journey. The staff at reception and in the bar were all so friendly and helpful and after seeing someone else’s steak pie I decided on that. It did not disappoint and with a glass of Shiraz it was just what we needed. The meal deal meant that pudding was only an additional £2 so we followed with sticky toffee pudding and cream. I forgot to take photos of the steak pie and wine as I was too busy enjoying it! I’ve added photos of the sticky toffee pudding and the Camden Pale Ale instead. Early night now ready for the Hoppa bus from the front door straight to the airport. Great place to stay ready for an early morning flight.

Very convenient for Gatwick airport via the Hoppa bus. We had a very good value meal in the hotel restaurant combined with a good value room. Recommended for a.m. flights.

Excellent value for money, smooth check in and car parking. Very helpful reception staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was very nice and the restaurant staff were attentive, friendly and keen to help. When a bag was accidentally left behind at the travel lodge and wasn’t noticed until we were at airport security, the staff at the Travelodge were extremely helpful in locating the bag and reuniting it with its panicking owner and we made the flight in time. We were very grateful to all involved! We would definitely use Travelodge Gatwick again. Thank you.

Restaurant/bar was nice and clean, looked newly refurbished. Not many vegetarian options. Was very hot inside. Food was nice though, large portions. And particular acknowledgement to our server Rampa, he was incredibly informative, polite, happy and friendly.

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, food good as with most travelodges. Rooms are very nice modern and clean, bath is huge and very relaxing.

Plenty of car parking spaces. Reception was friendly and well informed. Restaurant food was ok. Grandson had Pizza and chips which was delicious. I had cheeseburger & chips which was standard pub grub. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Only downside was no tv on Champions League night.

We always stay here when flying gatwick south. Rooms are generally a competitive price, basic (but includes kettle with in the foyer the ability to refill your tea and sugar etc and snack machines) Bed is comfortable and basic tv, spare pillows (we have in the past had issues in finding the soap dispensers empty or only the bath one full on a number of occasions, so always bring soap as a backup, but over last year has improved 100%! Purchasing the wifi for 24 hours is worth it and you can have two devices or half an hour free. Large Restaurant is fine, they gave it a makeover a couple of years ago and looks much better, quite a good selection of food including for those vegs and calories values detailed. Service was quick and my Wife tried the new Moroccan dish which was very nice she said, followed by sticky toffe pudding not one for the calorie counter however! The hotel is served by a Hoppa bus which runs regular, 3/4 times a hour , from outside the hotel to the north and south terminals, so very easy to get to the terminal whatever the time! We were seated by Rampa, who recognised us (I’m the one in the bright blue Blazer Rampa!) from previous visits which was a nice touch and amazing he remembered us, considering how many people must pass him! Rampa explained the menu ordering and subsequently checked with us once the food was served, whether everything was ok. Thank you Rampa My only observation/cristicism is why don’t travelodge have a loyalty scheme as many hotels and Businesses have? The amount of time and money, we have spent here over the past 15 years I’m sure would have entitled us to a free room for a night!

I arrived at around 1:30 pm and was told that check-in was at 3 pm. A receptionist then offered me an early check-in for 15 pounds, which I turned down. This means that they have a room available, want to see how desperate you are trying to check in, and are willing to fork out 15 pounds. Not impressed. Wi-fi is free for the first 30 minutes of the day, and if you wish to have extended use, it's just a little over 3 pounds for 24 hours of internet. Again, not impressed. I decided to order a flat white and did some work in the restaurant until 3 pm. The room was large and seemed clean. Comfy bed and I fell asleep almost immediately. The breakfast is continental and the dinner menu has a good selection. If you're just having a pitstop in London and wish to get to Gatwick Airport, this is an excellent location. There's a shuttle bus to and from the South and North terminals for 5 pounds. Sure beats taking the cab or Uber. It's quite frequent - every 30 minutes or so. I could hear a screaming kid a few rooms down, but that only lasted momentarily.

Gatwick Airport Central has been refurbished and looks fantastic now. Rooms are very comfortable. Staff are all very helpful. Good food in the restaurant as well.

The travelodge was great for Gatwick Airport, shuttle bus dropped you of at the hotel (hoppa stops at airport£9 return bus stance 11 . I can say it’s the nicest travelodge I’ve ever stayed in,staff went out of they’re way to help, all the staff were excellent.food in restaurant was really good, rooms were really clean and comfortable, good value for money. Would definitely stay here again

We stopped here for a night between flights and the staff were incredibly welcoming and eager to help. Jonathan the manager was particularly good and went out of his way to help with our food order to eat in the room. Would absolutely recommend staying here instead of spending more on the other airport hotels

I have stayed at Travelodge Gatwick Central twice now and on both occasions been struck by how friendly and helpful the staff there are. From Reception to the cleaning staff to everyone who works in the restaurant/bar area. Really welcoming, and particularly appreciated if you're on your own. Thank you for your amazing customer service! :)

Nice rooms, nice good size bar, plenty of seats, tv's for the sports fans, pleasant service desk, bar and waiting staff, enjoyed the food, slightly limited on choice but all nice what our party had, reasonable prices was a definite bonus. Nice location to the airport

ROOM 417 On 4th March 2026 we caught the bus from South terminal to the hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the hotel very clean. We obtained our room key and were given directions to the room. Myself and my wife were in a family room. This was very clean and comfortable. We went down for a snack. We purchased a couple of alcoholic beverages, reasonably priced, and two pizzas. The pizzas were probably two of the best I have purchased - thin, crispy bases and flavoursome toppings. The next day we were checking out and had purchased a ticket for breakfast the day before. Breakfast was not dispointing at all. £12.50 each for eat all you can. Fabulous choice for cereals, fruit starters, porridge and a good selection of coked items - bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, tomatoes, beans etc. We'll worth it's money. The stay was excellent. £63 for the room and meals additional. The staff service and friendliness, cleanliness of the hotel and quality of food was well worth it. Would highly recommend for a stay.

Staff all friendly and food was very good. Happy for the price we paid for the family room. Will be back for sure as easier to stay near airport than travel early hours. clean, windows were soundproof even on top floor where we were located. Good vibes and atmosphere was chilled and calm in restaurant.

Just a few minutes bus journey from Gatwick airport. Girl on reception very friendly and helpful. Staff in bar/cafe were very helpful the food was good, and value for money. Rooms usual high standard from travelodge. Pleasant atmosphere and no noise outside the room

Friendly, convenient and a good place to stay

We stayed prior an early morning flight, everything regards to the hotel was excellent. The shuttle bus from right outside the front of the hotel made getting to the terminal super easy. The only issue we had was the parking outside the hotel. We only had 15 minutes to deposit cases before dropping car off at long-term airport parking. We overstayed by 37 seconds and we were issued a fine by the parking company. However Travelodge customer services were very helpful at getting this cancelled. Would be 5 stars if not for the parking, I’m not a fan of 3rd party ANPR parking systems. I can’t fault the customer services communication in resolving the matter however!

Conveniently located within easy reach of the airport, which was our main reason for staying. The hotel was clean and welcoming, and the bed was comfortable.

Due to the situation in the Middle East, our flights to the UK were cancelled and thankfully I am receiving a refund from the airline. We were scheduled to fly from Australia this evening 2 March 2026 however with airspace closed, Qatar Airways cancelled our flights. As such, our entire month long visit to the UK has been disrupted and I have to cancel all of our pre-arranged travel and accommodation. Everywhere else I have contacted have been very understanding and offered a refund. However, Travodge were completely inflexible and only provided the corporate response saying advanced rate purchases were non refundable. We were very disappointed with the response. Excellent service all round, the shuttle to the airport was reliable. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the wash facilities were good too - no complaints only recommendations.

Friendly reception. Decent sized room. Very clean. Great value. 100 bus from airport stops outside and only short walk to reception. Had a great meal. 2 courses for £16 - not a huge variety at that price but a tasty, well cooked pizza and lovely (and generous) pudding. All staff friendly. Would certainly come again.

The staff were all very friendly and ultra helpful. The bar has been refurbished and is pleasant for an evening before a flight. You would never describe the food as Michelin star but it is priced reasonably, cooked well and filling. I have stayed at numerous different hotels around airports and many have failed to live up to expectations. I have to say the staff here have really made the experience enjoyable.

I regularly use this hotel for business trips. The beds are super comfy and the food in the resturant is very good especially the stocky toffee pudding and not badly priced when you go for the meal deal. The drinks however are a bit expensive but that is only to be expected at a hotel near gatwick airport. I would book here again for both business and personal trips as ot is easily accessible from the airport so not bad if you have an early morning flight.

I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant! We pre-booked the breakfast and evening meal package as well and it was brilliant food and service! Beds were comfy, shower adequate, location good with Hoppa to use. Massivr value for money! I definitely recommend.

The room- comfy and clean. Nice welcome at reception but my god do not eat there!!! I had three small plate for dinner and was up all night committing despite only eating a few mouthfuls. The scampi bites were Cole in the middle- raw? And the halloumi fries smelt so bad- more fool me for trying a bite- I can not describe it. But what made it even worse is that I did raise this with the team and they didn’t care- no apology, no offer to remake, NOTHING. I came back to the bar a few hours later so request a jug so I can have a jug of water to sip in between vomit but was told no. And, despite explaining the reasons why, no apology. The breakfast is kept under scorching heat light so get there for the second the buffet opens or be prepared to go hungry. The poorest quality I have ever encountered as a hotel reviewer

We stayed for the night before heading to the airport for an early flight. Elizabeth served us in the restaurant, she was so attentive and kind, very professional. You cannot fault the price and comfort of the hotel. The only disappointment was that the restaurant had run out of rice by 5pm and the burger was a bit dry. The room was perfect, clean and made for a great nights sleep.

The hotel was in a good location, near the car parks and there was a bus every 15 minutes throughout the 24 hours of the day. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. There is not much in the area . So, the restaurant with 2 courses for £15.99 for dinner and £11.99 for all you can eat breakfast are a great deal.

We always stay at Gatwick Travelodge when going away and we go away 3/4 times a year it’s always amazingly clean and friendly the staff are really lovely and helpful food is always really good and plentiful.

Spent the night before an early morning flight. Had a nice evening meal in the restaurant. The member of staff called Rampa, in the restaurant was very efficient and helpful. OK it's an airport Travelodge. But room is big, nice and clean, and the bar food in the restaurant is surprisingly good. I mean this is pub kind of fayre, but e.g. the onion rings we ordered as a cheeky side were honestly the best we have had anywhere. Nice friendly serving staff. Will use again next time we have an early flight next day.

Nice room, good food, great value and very friendly personnel. If I want to pick on something it is the comparatively expensive airport shuttle- we paid 16 pounds (2 people, return tickets) But then that is the case for all hotels around so not really fair😉.

this review is not for the actual location shown but more for the whole of Travelodge, I booked five rooms at this hotel, when booking you need to put in the amount of rooms that you need, for this there is a large box that states Add Another Room, of which I did, then click search. from there you chose the type of room you want. I completed the purchase, it was a little while late one of our party asked if I have got an accessible room for him, the answer was no, I therefore phoned Travelodge to check that one of the rooms was accessible. At this point I was told it would be £12.95 for them to press a couple of keys on a PC to change it. Which is incredible amount for the amount of work required. Later I rechecked the web site and there is a small box that you need to tick when entering your search criteria, once you press search there is no further option of selecting this room type. I just want people to be aware of the poor layout of the website and the total inflexibility of Travelodge with this type of situation. be a long time before I use Travelodge again, much prefer Premier Inn as they are far more customer orientated. when

Great location next to Gatwick Airport. Arrived late on 26/12/25 and was warmly greeted by reception and offered drinks and pizza in the 24 hour bar and asked if I’d like breakfast in the morning. Restaurant was clean and tidy with friendly staff on duty. Self-service eat as much as you like buffet for breakfast with all the usual stuff to construct a hearty meal. Stayed in a ‘super’ room which was very clean and comfortable with a nice selection of soft and firm pillows and crispy clean Cotton bedding. Lavazza coffee pod machine in the room and complimentary kitkats, hot chocolate and still and sparkling water in the mini bar. Iron, ironing board and hairdryer was in the room. Massive flat screen tv. Good heating and air conditioning. Bathroom was immaculately clean with crispy white towels and a full size bath, which is ideal for a soak after a long day travelling. Would definitely rebook.

Very warm welcome , the barman Christian was a pleasure and made me feel very welcomed. Id definitely stay again shame there wasn't more food on late but they have pizza so everyone is happy .

Clean and comfortable no frills accommodation (with kettle in room) in a convenient location. People complain about £10.50 to park a car overnight (£14.00 in summer I believe) but given the cost of the room not unreasonable given the proximity to Gatwick and the cost of other hotels in the vicinity. You can use the Horizon app to pay but easy enough at the machine; just don't forget to enter your registration on the ipad by reception. I would imagine the car park will fill up quickly so arriving later in the day could find you struggling for a spot - it looked pretty full in the morning. Judging by the posters there is a shuttle bus to the airport, but I didn't investigate. Check out at noon is a good thing if you're dropping someone off early and going back for a bit of shuteye! You can select your room in advance (at a fee), for example if you want to view the planes landing (or departing depending on runway in use) at Gatwick!

Very good service I sleep absolutely good. I couldn’t take a shower because the shower was leaking everywhere. Got to the reception offer me if I wanted to take a shower but it was to late their offer me a breakfast for free Gabriela very professional and polite

Gatwick Central has had a refurbishment since our last visit. A real improvement. The art posters on the wall would look good in a five-star hotel. The dining area has changed from a typical canteen style open plan area to a well designed area that is broken up by stylish shelving adorned with artistic vases, books, and flower arrangements ( sadly plastic). The rooms are super clean, and the heating actually works properly now. The usual large space with toiletries, desk, comfy chairs, pillows, and bed. The TV is still set on pre October's time change, so the guide to what's on frustratingly tells you what is on in an hours time. The window is sealed, which is good for those worried about anyone breaking in (or the hotel is worried about others sneaking in without paying). The travelodge has a great value meal deal - £15.95 for a mains plus desert or side dish. We had a pizza, which was stone baked with the right amount of topping. There is a limited drinks list with only the cheapest wines available by the glass, the others by the bottle. Leffe beer is no longer available, and Erdinger beer is alcohol free. The staff are genuinely friendly, helpful, and diplomatic. When we turned up at 2.20 pm to hopefully book in, we were firmly told, with a smile, that we needed to wait until 3 pm. Thoughtfully, we were able to book in at 2.50 pm. when another member of staff turned up as a queue started to form. There are vending machines and books available plus comfy chairs in the reception area. There has been a dramatic change to the hotel, much improved with everything Parking is available, slightly awkward to work out how to use the payment machine, and this costs £10.50 per day.

One of the very best Travelodge hotels I have ever stayed in. Excellent facilities and amenities including an outstanding cafe/bar/restaurant contained in a really convivial space, seating areas throughout all parts of reception, ample car parking, regular bus shuttle service and a nearby service station / ‘corner shop’ for general convenience. Really clean and tidy throughout. Good strong WiFi in all areas. Minimum noise from airport / road traffic. Impressive customer service with staff who are consistently professional, amiable and helpful right around the clock. Highly recommended if you are arriving late and/or departing early from the airport, would even suit a longer layover should needs require. Will definitely be looking to stay again next time I require a hotel at Gatwick.

Our whole experience was lovely, the food was tasty and good portion size as well. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious, the restaurant was quite warm though.

Very friendly welcome at reception. Room was clean and comfortable and it was not noisy. Elizabeth in the restaurant was fantastic; knowing that the restaurant was due to stop cooking, she seated me quickly, helped me choose my meal and warned the kitchen that they had another customer. Exceeded all my expectations.

It’s a travelodge, so the food was as expected, hot and edible. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the service was quick. All you need for a pre flight stopover.
