Family was so kind, family dinner was amazing, everyone was so helpful for transportation and activities, very close to the city.

I’m a big believer that it’s the people who make or break a stay; Let’s just say, the people (staff) made this stay a highlight of my Vietnam trip. And also the hostel was in amazing shape, would stay again in a heartbeat

Giang made me sweep the floors and take care of the baby as payment to get my laundry back - just kidding, sort of :)

Our room was clean, quiet, and Giang, the owner’s sister, was wonderful. She led a Vietnamese language lesson that was engaging, funny, and one of the highlights of our stay and was so helpful throughout our visit

The sales approach was much more persistent than we expected. Upon arrival, we were invited to sit down so Ms. Linh, the owner and manager, could help us plan our stay and “give us the best possible experience,” but the conversation was primarily focused on selling tours, transfers, and other services. We felt the sales pressure was quite heavy, and once it became clear we were arranging our own activities and transport, our interactions became noticeably less welcoming. For example, when we explained we were meeting a friend at the Duck Stop, we were repeatedly encouraged to visit a different duck farm instead. We also noticed we received almost the same recommendations as at our previous accommodation, making the advice feel more like a standard sales pitch than personalised recommendations. We also experienced a few practical issues. On both nights, the drinking water ran out around 8:30 p.m., and when we asked if more was available, despite seeing additional water containers in the common area, we were told to “come back tomorrow.” Our biggest concern occurred on the second night when our room developed a strong sweet smell reminiscent of durian or gasoline. Because we couldn’t identify the source, we were concerned it could be a gas or chemical issue and asked if we could move rooms, even to a smaller one. We were initially told the property was fully booked and that changing rooms was not possible. Later, we noticed rooms still appeared to be available online, which left us confused. Only after we continued to express our safety concerns were we asked to air out the room and message the owner if the smell remained, although she had not confirmed we had a way to contact her. Fortunately, after about 15 minutes, the smell disappeared and did not return, and we also noticed the hallway smelled even more strongly than our room. We were glad the issue resolved, but the way our concerns were handled left us with less confidence than we would have liked.

Beautiful hostel located just steps from the River! Giang and Linh could not have been more helpful, and they truly made us feel part of their family during our stay. Clean and comfortable rooms with great AC, fantastic rooftop to get views of the awesome landscape, and the family dinners and Vietnamese lessons were awesome too. Thank you for such a wonderful stay ❤️

Lots and lots of bugs everywhere, there were a bunch of ants crawling around the room and it was hard to enjoy the night upstairs on the rooftop because there were just so many bugs constantly flying around and on you

An amazing stay in the heart of Phong Nha! Wonderful staff, food, and activities. They helped me find and book an incredible overnight caving tour, let us borrow bikes to explore the surrounding area, SUPs to swim in the river, and had many good recommendations. The community dinner (and Vietnamese lesson!) every night was a highlight - a very social atmosphere and chance to meet other travelers.

Bellissimo ostello, con delle terrazze molto belle. Atmosfera super, non hard party ma dove si possono conoscere molte persone. Inoltre Linh e Giang sono bravissime, gentilissime e preparatissime!!

Cute homestay, nice and helpful staff, clean and cosy family dinners. Nothing else you need to enjoy your time in Phong Nha! It is a bit a side of the village, but absolutely managable distance.

Ehrlich gesagt hat mir hier alles gefallen. Ich konnte nachts um 2 Uhr einchecken. Die Chefin ist extra aufgestanden und hat mir mein Zimmer gezeigt. Die Zimmer sind super ausgestattet und sauber. Auch die Betten sind total groß und bequem. Linh ist eine der tollsten Frauen die ich auf meiner Reise kennenlernen durfte. Sie hat sich an unsere Namen erinnert, war immer zur Stelle wenn man etwas gebraucht hat und hat einem das Gefühl vom Zuhause sein gegeben. Auch ihre jüngere Schwester hat mir sehr geholfen. Die Family Dinner haben den Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht, so konnte man easy neue Leute kennenlernen. Dankeschön 💕

In dem Homestay Hostel hat man sich direkt wohl gefühlt. Linh hat sich bemüht, dass es einem gut geht und durch gemeinsame Aktivitäten (z.b. Family Dinner oder Sprachkurs) lernte man schnell die anderen Reisenden in der Unterkunft kennen.

Die Zimmer könnten etwas mehr Platz für Gepäck haben. Wenn alle Betten belegt sind wird es relativ eng.

My brother and I really liked this accommodation. It’s just a little bit outside of the center of town, but that’s not important because the hotel itself provides everything you need right there. Food, fun, transport, etc. We were only there for one night, but it was clear that a lot of travelers make this place a necessary stop - it was a very lovely atmosphere! They offer a lot of tours for caves and other local destinations. The staff was also lovely and very friendly. For our private room, we had a great view of the nearby mountains and also a spacious balcony to relax on.

A great location in a quiet area, but only steps away from riverside cafes. The rooftop restaurant and games area of this hostel gives spectacular views over the mountains and river. All staff work very hard to ensure guests have an enjoyable time in Phong Nha. Family dinner is a fun experience to eat local food and meet other travelers.

Ambiente molto famigliare e super disponibili. Siamo arrivati in anticipo e abbiamo potuto lasciare le valigie e rilassarci qualche ora negli spazi condivisi (Ping pong, biliardo, varie zone relax…) Il giorno seguente abbiamo fatto un tour tramite loro ed è stato davvero bello e ben organizzato. Lo staff ci ha permesso di lasciare i bagagli e di usufruire ancora delle zone comuni in attesa del nostro bus che partiva a tarda serata. La zona è tranquilla per chi ama il relax e la natura. Bella la vista dall’ultimo piano.

Felt like a home! Great meals and good location to book tours

The property was in a great spot, right by the beautiful river in Phong Nha. Our room was super clean and tidy. The owner and receptionist Linh was so helpful and made sure everything was perfect for us during our stay. She went above and beyond for us, organising a meal for us after we got off a bus late in the evening and helping us to book a tour as well as a bus to our next destination.

Abbiamo soggiornato in camerata. Struttura fantastica e personale disponibile. Appena siamo arrivati Lin ci ha fornito tutte le informazioni per muoverci nella zona. I servizi che offrono sono sicuramente un plus! - Colazione inclusa buonissima. - Bici per due ore gratuita, consiglio di fare un giro nei dintorni, villaggio molto caratteristico. - Nel rooftop ci sono biliardo e biliardino per passare la serata e socializzare. -Prenotazione gite e bus Consiglio di fare la gita con la guida alla Golden cave, esperienza unica!

Great host and lovely accommodation, nice and quiet location just outside of the main area. Easy to rent bike and bicycles. Great food too

Our bathroom drain had a bad smell coming from it. We had to leave our window open 24/7

Ils nous ont même emmené au bus et donc éviter de prendre un taxi Le petit déjeuner est délicieux On a pris les chambres en dortoir et je n’ai jamais eu de lit aussi grand. C’était comme un lit double et très confortable

The assistance from the hostess is second none. Really helpful also in the communication in Vietnamese with the bus operator with respect to logistics The home made dinner is delicious. I would definitely recommend the homestay and if I return to Phong Nha it will be the place I will go back to.

We zijn heel goed geholpen door het personeel. Het is een sociaal hostel, vooral bij family dinner. Alles kan voor je geregeld worden: scooter, tours, eten en kleding wassen. Phong Nha zelf is ook fantastisch.

This was the best hostel we have stayed at so far in Vietnam. We stayed two nights, got our laundry done here, joined their family dinner twice and booked our sleeperbus and a daytour via this amazingly friendly hostel. We absolutely loved the FREE Vietnamese language session for beginners, but most of all we really appreciated the honest kindness we got from everyone working in the hostel. After checking out we left out bags at the hostel to still be able to do a day tour with hiking and cave visits. After being quite tired and really dirty from the day trip, the hostel allowed us to use their facilities once more after checking out. We took an amazing last shower with fresh towels. Linh and Giang we would like to thank you for everything. Greetings Matisse and Orphee 🙂

The location was close to restaurant and bars but not too busy in the centre of town or on the front. The family who run it were lovely and really made you feel like a member of the family. Being able to share a meal with other guests was great and we have stayed in touch with a number of them since. The food was great value and delicious.

I had an amazing time staying here! Giang was incredible, she made me feel welcome instantly and motivated me to do a great cave tour. She really goes above and beyond fixing any issue you might have and she does it with a big smile on her face. Thanks Giang!

Emplacement très correct, calme et près de la campagne autour. A l'écart du centre mais ça ne pose pas de problème car il y a plusieurs restos très chouettes à proximité. Petit déjeuner bon à choisir sur la carte (un plat + boisson). Personnel très arrangeant pour tous les services comme la location de scooter ou de vélo ou encore l'organisation des excursions.

Le petit bémol : du linge perdu ! Nous nous en sommes aperçus à notre arrivée à l'autre hôtel en déballant le sac.

The property was great however it was not as per the photos

We booked a river view with a balcony and got an indoor room but due to our limited stay we didn’t complain as we were just putting out heads down after a long journey. I just feel it shouldn’t be advertised as a room I booked and we not get what we booked. Other than that the property and the owner was lovely, accommodating and welcoming.

The view from the rooftop is wonderful! I arrived in the evening, got picked up from the bus stop for free (it was 4-5 mins motorcycle ride). There is family dinner every night, which helps to connect with other travelers. I attended to a cave tour arranged by the owner, Linh, and it was definitely an unforgettable day! She also arranged my bus to Ninh Binh. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, highly recommended!

The owner was so friendly and helpful with organising onward travel and activities whilst we were there. We joined the family dinner one night; the food was lovely and we got to meet other people staying at the property.

The owner and the manager of the hotel is very helpful and professional. She helped us to find a taxi to get to the hotel from the center of the town, in the middle of the night, since we arrived to the town very late. She also has many tours in the hotel, organized by herself. She speaks good English and all the questions and problems can be addressed directly to her. She will answer any time of the day - Motorbikes for rent can be organized by the hotel itself - Good free breakfast at the hotel with Western food - there is a nice roof top in the hotel, where you can chill, have a drink and look at the amazing view of the Phong Nha - The hotel is in the quiet area of Phong Nha - A lot of restaurants within the walking distance from the hotel

- Our room was not exactly what was promised on booking.com. On the third night of our stay, hotel manager was able to change our room to the one we expected. (all rooms very fully occupied due to the public holiday)

Ms. Linh was friendly and informative on check-in and had our room ready when we arrived. The room was a good size with large beds and modern air-conditioning. Hot water and good pressure shower. Free, but warm filtered water in reception and free bicycles for 2 hours, too. We didn't use them, but others did. Family dinner offered every night at 7pm for guests for only 100K. We were told by other travellers it was worth it, with lots of options. Breakfast and a drink are included with a choice of 8 options. Decent English tea, too, despite asking three times for milk. The first morning, our group had banana pancakes, they were okay, a little doughy though. I think it's just how the Vietnamese make them, as I've noticed this with Crepes and Waffles too over the last 2/3 weeks. Upon check out, Ms. Linh thanked us for staying with her and asked if everything was okay. We mentioned the smell in the room, which we know may not be a quick fix. I'm not sure if it's drains or the extraction. Hopefully, it can be sorted before the next guests go in.

I dont enjoy writing negative reviews, but I have to be honest and hopefully as respectful as possible. For us, the location is okay but not great. Theres other restaurants and accommodation on the main road by the river but no ATMs or Mini Marts. Wish we would have stayed in Cuo Lac instead. It was expensive for two nights too. Im assuming it's because it's the holiday weekend for them. 30/4 till 4/5. Costing £52/1.8Million VD. Where we've been staying in other 2-4 star accommodation for less! For example Hoi An, 3 Star, Central for 4 nights, with a pool and breakfast was £60/2 Million VD. One of the mattresses in our room will need replacing soon. You can feel the springs in certain parts. The bathroom smelt awful. Both mornings, we were all woken up to screaming and shouting. Sounded like an adult and child. Some of us thought maybe the accommodations children, but we couldn't confirm. Breakfast, there was a cheese/butter/jam & bread option that looked like grilled cheese on toast. However, when it came, it was close to what the wording said. A spreadable cheese triangle, peanut butter, and orange marmalade with a plain bread bun. The next morning, we ordered scrambled eggs on bread but was given just twos fried eggs, nothing else. In the evenings, despite the restaurant being open, it seemed impossible to order any food or drink. There was never anyone around, except around 7pm for the family dinner. We noticed on the day we checked out that 7 hours before, a fake Google review had been left. We then started noticing other fake reviews, which was really disappointing. Along with poor reviews about the same issues we have had recently. Reviews have also been deleted from Hostel World according to fellow travellers. Though we have been using Booking.com and Google.

Normally I am too lazy to write a review, but this hostel just goes above and beyond for its guests. The way the rooms, pool, bathrooms and comon area are located are perfect, good beds, cute coffee shop but the best this hostels has to offer is its owner Linh. This guy is so passionate about the hostel. Remember every name, helps where she can, knows everything and she makes it so easy to get the guests talking to eachother. Very social hostel. The best ive been so far

The host was absolutely extraordinary, Linh's commitment to helping us organise trips and buses was phenomenal despite personal circumstances. I cannot recommend this hostel enough. The true definition of a home stay! The location of the hostel is fabulous and the atmosphere to make friends is great. The social areas are really well equipped with a pool table and other games. My favourite hostel in Vietnam!

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! This place litteraly felt like home. Linh, the owner, is AMAZING. So welcoming and proud of her beautiful hostel which makes her always try to improve the place. He also presents everyone to make it really social and organize good evening activities. The girls at the coffee and the barman are also really great and friendly, and remembers the name of everyone. I could have stayed a year here. + beds, blanket, rooftop, bathrooms and location is amazing.

My personal favourite hostel that I have stayed in throughout Asia. The staff go above and beyond for their customers and I felt truly safe and respected. Location is a stones throw from the town, rooms are immaculate and I can't fault one thing. It was the perfect kind of social where you can meet people and truly make friends.

The family dinner was a great way to meet people and so yum. Ms Linh can help with any tour you need.

They lost a little bit of my washing but found most of it again

The place has all the necessary facilities and even more. It offers help with buses, tours, motorbike/bike rent, good restaurant and family dinner. Overall I enjoyed my stay there

Host is very helpful and location is good. You can have family dinner or there’re some restaurants just around the corner.

One the host can speak English well, but you can find her thru WhatsApp, so that is not a big issue.

In a good location a little out of the main drinking area but the hostel are amazing at helping you out to get into town but just outside the hostel there are a few really good eating places

Nice sized room. Large bathroom. Clean. Quiet. I was in a different building because they seem to have 3 or 4 different buildings. Family dinner was ok but nice way to meet people. Free bicycle for 2 hours.

The shower did not work at all. I returned the key at checkout but then got a message to ask if I'd taken it with me because they couldn't find it. No idea if they found it or not. The sink drains into the bathroom so the floor is always wet.

Had an excellent stay at this hostel. It’s a lovely setting just back from the river with lots of restaurants nearby and a short cycle into town. Private room was massive with a great view of the mountains from the balcony. Atmosphere sociable but chilled with a good family dinner, staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it if you’re coming to Phong Nha!
