Reviewed Sep 13, 2026The comfort and decor of the room and bathroom were exceptional. Staff very friendly both in the bar and at breakfast. Breakfast itself was outstanding with plenty of choice on the menu.
Minor - the shower gel dispenser broke and wouldnt pump. Having only stayed one night it was fine ,and am sure if we had mentioned it would have been replaced

Reviewed Sep 11, 2026staff were brilliant and very welcoming, location and actual room was brilliant. Rooms are great value, clean and the bed was very comfortable. I have never been to Kirby Lonsdale, always driven past... it's a brilliant little spot.
very hard to find any fault. I was out of the door for 7:30 for the county show and breakfast started too late for me to have it (starts at 8am). however I seemed to be the person leaving the earliest and no one else was around so it's certainly not a complaint! I would definitely stay here again.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026Great location on the Main Street … very friendly welcome at the bar … very quick check in as arrived early as room ready we could drop off our bags.
Our room window overlooked onto the next door restaurant/bar where there was a court yard & diners outside & music all day until midnight … we only stayed on Saturday but couldn’t relax when we returned to our room. The room was extremely warm but not warm outside a small room for the price we paid … & carpet hadn’t been hoovered which was unexpected as a 4 star B&B. No carpark meant we had to park 10 minutes walk away as all car parks are short stay.

The room smelt musty and the bathroom was a little tired such as paint peeling at the bottom of the bath.

For a place that charges, £180.00 per night, not to have air conditioning is ridiculous. There was one fan, which simply did nothing, which led to a very uncomfortable evening sleep.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026The pub is in the centre of the town, with some lovely shops, we travelled with our dog, and found we could walk to the river, and wood from the pub. The staff and food were both excellent.and very accommodating.
It’s a old pub, and the windows are in keeping with this, which meant they are small, and it was very hot, we didn’t have a fan in our room, and we were over the kitchen extractor fan, so we didn’t get much sleep.

The shower in our room was leaking. Otherwise a lovely room in a lovely pub.

No spare toilet roll or milk in room. Human error oversight I expect and no biggie. No orange juice at breakfast that everybody was asking for. Maybe a trip to the spar along the road could have solved the problem!

Unable to sleep due to hot room. Complimentary glass water bottle in room had shattered under heat stress before we arrived. Temperature was above 30 degrees in room. Overnight temperature outside was 15 degrees but we couldn't get the room below 26 due to it being located above the boiler room, despite having all windows open for 12 hours. Wife spent following day feeling unwell as a result.

Reviewed May 20, 2026A beautiful old pub set in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale. A warm welcome and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. A lovely double room with a very comfortable bed. Food was excellent and the ale quaffable. Great cooked breakfast with excellent local food. All in all a top place to stay

Although not a complain just suggestions that would then put accomodation to excellent. It would be useful to have a small glass shelf above the taps in the bathroom to put bottles on eg. mouth wash contact lens solution ,liquid medicine . Door hanged no were to put outdoor coats .Larger bed side tables with more draws and cupboard adapted to accommodate hangers for clothing..What also detracted ,being elderly carrying cases etc. to the car was hard work. I appreciate that's out of your control However we would book this accomodation again.

Breakfast was also great, plenty of choice.
It was a warm weekend and you can’t open the window. There was a fan but the room was still very very warm. Also, although breakfast was over all very good, the bacon had clearly been cooked and left for some time (even though we were first down for breakfast). Had it been fresh it would have been so much better.
