Country Villa Estate

Mable and Danny were consummate hosts and made the stay enjoyable .

Unfortunately we stayed at beginning of autumn and whilst heating was available in the room the lounge and communal areas were cool in the evening. Whilst recognizing the property was styled to fit the properties historical origins it wasn’t really us. A beautiful spot but it is around 10 km from centre of Rotorua.

Danny and Mable were amazing!! And the villa was super peaceful and had a beautiful view of the mountains southwest of Rotorua.

A little out of town, but that was fine for the benefits of the scenery.

Danny and Mabel are incredible hosts.

It is a WOW place, amazing beautiful, great rooms, great amazing garden and over all , Danny and Mable that gives you the feeling of being home away of home. It was the best ever.7

Mable and Danny's villa is very cosy and comfortable, with beautiful gardens and a surprise breakfast that varies every day, the breakfast is very tasty and fancy. recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the best breakfast in Rotorua! They also gave us a lot of fruit they grew themselves when we left!

all good

This is an absolutely fantastic place to stay ! The Hosts Mable and Danny do everything and I mean everything to make you feel at Home. The Breakfast ( and the Coffee from Danny ) are worth 3 stars any Day. The only problem We had was that we had to leave ! I can really say if you are in the Region of Rotorua the only place to stay is Country Villa Estate.

Beautiful property, lovingly cared for by Mabel and Danny! Breakfast was a work of art, creative, and delicious! Certainly the best b and b breakfast I’ve had. Wonderful place to stay.

We loved our stay with Danny and Mable who are wonderful, professional and attentive hosts. Mable makes THE most beautiful and delicious breakfasts. Danny helps with everything from where to go in the area to watching the Super Bowl in his beautiful lounge. Don’t miss the chance to stay here. The house and grounds are incredibly gorgeous, flowers everywhere, lovely rooms and you really feel at home here. Thanks for everything, Danny and Mable.

Mabel and Danny are the warmest hosts you could imagine. Staying in their beautiful home was an absolute highlight. The lovingly prepared breakfast was absolutely fantastic. We also appreciate the many tips for our activities. We'll (hopefully) come back.

Excellent location. Beautiful scenery. Wonderful food and exceptional hosts.

Our hosts Danny & Mabel were highly attentive and their property is a wonderfully secluded villa amongst the vibrant landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand. Mabel’s morning breakfast is a delight with various fruits and jams all coming from the garden. The proximity to central Rotorua is also within a 15 minute drive. This location is highly recommended.

Mabel and Danny’s B&B is the best you can find in Rotorua if you are looking for a classic experience in pastoral country living during your visit to local natural and cultural attractions. The hosts are top notch professionals in hospitality services, yet offering uniquely old-time friendly warmth and personal attention to details. One of the most memorable times was enjoying the breakfast, exquisitely prepared by the hosts, in the sunny dining room with an idyllic view of spectacular backyard garden and distant fields. Absolutely recommended!

Quintessential B&B - quiet, beautiful location, wonderful hosts and superb breakfasts. Danny and Mabel gave great tips for restaurants and exploring the surrounding environs. Their gardens are incredible. Danny is also a virtuoso barista and Mable deserves a Michelin star for her breakfasts!

County Villa is filled with charm, light, and warmth. You can clearly see that Danny and Mabel are devoted to providing excellent care for their guests. From the unique décor in each suite to the beautiful gardens and the delicious, artfully prepared breakfasts, every detail reflects their passion.

Great personalized service. Everything was wonderful! Mable’s breakfast and Danny’s lattes were the best ever! Highly recommend this place for being something out of the ordinary, a small and cosy bed and breakfast but with a 5 star hotel service.

We stayed recently in the beautiful Country Villa Estate of Mable and Danny, the most lovely hosts you can imagin. Mable is a cook making the most elegant and surprising breakfasts with edible flowers of Danny’s beautiful garden. The garden give view to the countryside, very relaxing. The hosts can inform you about things te do in Rotorua and give you interesting tips for visits to places in the neighborhood. You will enjoy your stay!

Well this is a very interesting place - lots of different floral / cottage / country house styles from different times and places, some old and some new which makes this place really unique as it is decorated by items from the hosts' travels around the world I think. Very attentive, perhaps a little over-attentive for some, hosts. The breakfast was good at a shared table and the gardens are lovely. You will get lots of advice on what to do, and we took it and found it to be most useful.

The bed was a bit bouncy. It's an old villa so sound insulation isn't great, but it is always like that with older places in NZ, but in return you get lots of character. A little bit out of town but we knew that and wanted that, but do check.

Mable and Danny were absolutely incredible hosts, their property was truly magnificent, the location was wonderful and all the personal, loving touches they've put into their property are exquisite! Without question our best B&B stay EVER - THANK YOU, Mable and Danny!!

If we could have stayed another 4-5 days!?!

Beautiful country home surrounded by lush gardens. The hosts, Danny and Mabel, were very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast each morning was a real treat. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Country Village Estate was absolutely amazing! Our stay there a few months back was filled with incredible memories that are just unforgettable. The moments we shared there are deeply etched in our hearts and will stay with us forever. Truly, it's one of the most precious memories of our lives!" "The property near Auckland, New Zealand, is just breathtaking. It's got these vast meadows, blooming flowers, fruit trees, and a classic English style to it. It was a totally dreamy setting. The hosts, Mable and Danny, were so friendly and provided excellent service. The breakfast was a real visual treat! Staying here means you get to enjoy European charm, rural peace, fresh air, and sunny skies. It's a must-visit, and we'll definitely be back next time we travel. I'd recommend extending your stay if you can. I give it a perfect 10 out of 10!"

Our family had a wonderful stay this week. The property was a paradise surrounded by beautiful mountains and the garden was filled with flowers.the hosts were a wonderful couple that made us so welcome and the breakfast was out of this world. Everything was freshly picked from the garden, berries, fruit, and even the eggs were from the neighboring farm, fresh! Juices, jams , you name it, everything was freshly made beautifully. A super five star experience! The H Chang family

Thank you very much for this wonderful stay at your great little paradise. The hosts Mable and Danny are fabulous, very friendly, the estate and especially the beautiful Garden are awesome... Every morning Mable prepared a super delicious breakfast..you will love it as much as we do...freshly made with many ingredients directly from the garden... We wish you all the best and always friendly and happy guests 🤩

Yes ,we will back again.

The home was amazing. The grounds are beautiful and the service, food and friendliness impeccable.

Surrounding the property was a beautiful garden and the hosts were lovely. Breakfast was spectacular every day.

Excellent hosts and great location with beautiful views.

We are from Australia stayed for 3 nights. Breakfast were included and they were amazing with lots of options. Danny is a good barrister, Mabel is a good cook too. We also had our bed made and tidied every morning like hotel service. The hosts are very friendly and the house is very clean. Nice garden nice view

We came across this wonderful place by accident booking last minute during our travels in NZ, so lucky! and decided to book an extra night because we loved it so much! Danny and Mable are the loveliest hosts who helped us with our planning activities and spoiled us rotten. The breakfast is absolutely amazing: Mabel makes beautiful creations with fruit and delicious dishes with local products, avocado and flowers from her own garden. Their personal touch makes this B&B an absolute highlight and we definitely recommend to stay if given the chance. Many thanks!!

Mabel and Danny are wonderful hosts, very warm and helpful. The breakfast is every morning amazing and Mabel makes the best egg Benedict. The room as really spacious with good beds and really clean.

Location cleanliness friendly staff

Very friendly hosts, lovely property

Danny and Mable are the most welcoming, kind, helpful hosts we have encountered on our trip around New Zealand. The accommodation is superb and breakfasts were awesome. We had a fantastic time and were sorry to move on from this beautiful country paradise.

Nothing to dislike

The breakfast was unbelievable! The hosts Danny and Mabel outdid anything I’ve experienced before. After visiting the city of Rotorua, we realized that staying a little out of town was a great choice. Rotorua was a meh city and driving is pretty much required to get to any of the interesting attractions. Better to stay at the Country Villa, in a lovely setting, with a clean comfortable room and charming hosts than to stay in an overpriced hotel smelling of sulfur.

Nothing.

What a lovely place to stay! Danny and Mabel, the owners, live on the property and are both highly trained hoteliers and they sweat the details. The breakfasts were lovely and tasty, the rooms immaculate, and the garden was gorgeous. It’s about a 15 minute drive to Rotorua, but no big deal as most attractions are not within walking distance. The town itself is kind of blah, so do yourself a favor and stay with Danny and Mabel at the Country Villa Estates. The high rating is well deserved.

incredible! the owner and his wife worked at the top hotels in the world and it show. their attention to detail is amazing. if you stay here you could not possibly want for anything. breakfast is the best you will have at any b&b and the owners obviously love sharing their garden and surroundings with guests

everything was outstanding

Danny and Mabel are fantastic hosts and very knowledgeable about the Rotorua area. Breakfast was wonderful everyday. The room and facility is very clean and interesting.

Perfect location for our tours . The breakfast was beyond perfect from the presentation to the quality of food . Danny and Mabel were excellent hosts . Would go back if possible . Highly recommend.

It's not often the beautiful view from your accommodation matches the charm & hospitality of your hosts. Country Villa Estate is definitely one of those properties. Hosts Maude & Danny are wonderful people, well travelled with a strong hospitality background, they are truly welcoming of all guests to their beautiful home. Maude is an amazing chef & artist who, with the help of barista Danny, creates a delicious, beautifully presented breakfast each morning. We stayed 3 nights in the upstairs family suite so were fortunate to have our own tea room looking out at the well maintained garden. It was very clean & comfortable, with tea & coffee & bathroom amenities provided. There are plenty of resting places outside on the veranda or in the gardens or you can utilise the indoor lounge. If you are very lucky you may find yourself enjoying a conversation with Danny or Maude, two of the nicest people you could hope to meet.

Beautifully appointed home in serene country setting.

Danny and Mabel are incredible hosts. We could not have asked for anything more from them than they offered without reservation. The property is extremely convenient to Rotorua, but you don’t have to deal with the traffic and the crowds. The grounds are lovely and very restful after a long drive or day o sightseeing.

Amazing place to stay while exploring Rotorua. Hosts were incredibly accommodating and breakfast was incredible. Wish we had stayed more nights!

You couldn't find more graceful hosts than Danny and Mable. As a solo female traveler who experienced some mishap on my visit to Rotorua, both of them were a great support system and went beyond even the extra mile. I can't thank them enough. Their B&B is situated in the hills above town, in a quiet pastoral area, with a magnificent garden full of flowers and different private areas to relax. The house is historic and Mable and Danny display many of the treasures they picked up during their world travels. The 4 themed bedrooms have super comfortable beds and are set up to make your own coffee/tea. The hallway has a fridge for the guests and little chocolate treats are to be found everywhere. There is also a guest living room to enjoy (and watch TV). And even more than that ... breakfast is on a whole other level. While the round kitchen table holds all manner of muesli, granola, jams, juices, and yogurts, and while there is also the choice of a warm breakfast ... the extra surprise each morning is Mable's fruit creation. Words cannot describe those! Danny is an excellent barista and a fountain of knowledge about the area and many other places both in NZ and the world. I cannot recommend Country Villa Estate and its hosts highly enough!

Danny and Mable were absolutely brilliant and courteous hosts when we stayed. All of the rooms available are very cosy and lovely to stay in. Whilst there, they provided a delicious and very filling breakfast. It’s a gorgeous villa with stunning views and a serene environment. It’s also a very short distance from the town and some of the hot springs that Rotorua has to offer.

A corner of Heaven. The hosts, Mabel & Danny are very welcoming and pay attention to every aspect in order to create a holistic and authentic experience for their guests. The beautiful victorian house is artfully decorated on the interior interior and feels very cozy. The garden is skillfully taken care by the couple, striving for perfection. A must for your stay in Rotorua!

Everything was beyond expectations

Outstanding decoration in and outside , the cleanest rooms . Danny and Mable made us feel very welcome. Lovely and private place to have a incredible family time. Wonderful hosts and fantastic service. Extremely recommended Michelin stared level breakfast made by Mable, also the homegrown and homemade grapefruit jam and mix berry jam.

The hosts were very friendly. The house was immaculate and very well decorated. The breakfast was lovely with little artistic home made touches

Accommodation plus breakfast was the best on our trip. Hosts went out of their way to make our experience exceptional

All was good

Best of the best

location and privacy … a place of solitude

Very friendly staff with its best service.

Absolutely beautiful place. Cannot recommend highly enough. The gardens and views are delightful. Danny and Mabel were so thoughtful and the attention to detail is amazing, and both were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really thoughtfully prepared and loads of it.

This B&B was like spending the night in the garden of Eden. It is run by two lovely professionally trained hospitality managers with experience at some of the worlds top hotel and resort companies Four Seasons, Intercontinental—you get the idea. Their historic home is nestled in a large garden filled with flowers, ornamentals and fruit trees. The room accommodation is charming and spotless but the best part was the gourmet breakfast and all the home Olaf’s goodies that Mabel and Danny offer. We had a gorgeous bowl of fresh fruit and homemade yogurt. Lots of cereal choices and toast with fancy homemade jams. But the fresh eggs, and avocado ham and cheese croissant was just over the top. Finish this feast with fresh coffee and fresh squeezed juice selection— awesome! It is located just outside Rotorua and the stars of the Milky Way shine bright. We can not recommend this property more enthusiastically. Thanks for a great and memorable stay.

The host and hostess were fantastic and accommodating. You could tell they were extremely proud of their property and it showed. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. The morning breakfast was exceptional with again great care taken in providing guests with variety and home made preserves. I would highly recommend this property.

This is truly five-star accommodation. The grounds themselves are worth a visit to this location. Our hosts also presented us with beautifully prepared breakfasts which were excellent and they accommodated all our dietary restrictions. We were in the upstairs suite and the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.

We loved our stay at Country Villa Estate. The location is 10 mins drive from Rotorua main town, with no smell of sulphur. Mable made delicious breakfast for us every morning and Danny helped us with lot of recommendations to do around Rotorua and also booked our Maori evening experience which was wonderful.

Breakfast is superb. The owner couples are very professional and knowledgeable. Room, the common area, and the garden are very well maintained and decorated. One of the best B&B I've ever stayed in. If you are into relax getaway countryside villa stay, this is the place for you. On a side note, we've been told one may order a helicopter tour to White Island directly from the backyard. Would love to do that if time allow.

A beautiful country house with amazing views and gardens. Danny and Mabel are excellent hosts. The breakfast they provide is delicious 😋

Our stay in the Country Villa was probably the best estimate accommodation that we stayed in during our nine week trip to New Zealand. Everything was perfect, room, facilities and breakfast. The hosts went the extra yard to ensure everything was of five star quallity.

Very nice B&B. Friendly and efficient hosts. Lovely grounds.old house with great character but rooms not soundproof. In country.

This was a lovely place, just outside of Rotorua. Hosts were excellent and so were breakfasts. Nice and peaceful; gorgeous flowers.

Beautiful setting in the countryside. Lots of flowers in the gardens. Very good breakfast. The hosts were very informative and helpful. Extremely friendly service.

We are a family with a 6 years old girl. We had a wonderful stay at Country Villa. The house is beautiful, the garden is huge and my girl enjoyed so much seeing different trees and flowers. The design of our room is very nice and the bedding is comfortable. Mable and Danny are super friendly and we enjoyed so much chatting with them. The breakfast were the best we have ever had in New Zealand. The eating flowers surprised me and I felt like eating breakfast at a five stars hotel. Also, it's the cleanest place to stay in New Zealand, also around the world. I highly recommend Country Villa to everyone and we would love to return in the very near future. Thank you again Mable and Danny >.<

The hosts were lovely, the grounds and venue are pretty but the room was tired. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable, no tv in the room, no shampoo or conditioner only a men’s 2 in 1. I felt this was overpriced for a room in a house. I was also charged the double rate instead of the single and no refund was offered.

Very welcoming and informative hosts, advising on best tours and dining options in Rotorua. Delicious breakfasts!
