Vrouwelijke receptioniste sprak geen Engels, hoewel ze mij wel heel welkom ontving. Een mannelijke werknemer kwam ‘s ochtends de prullenbak in de vrouwenkamer legen terwijl wij nog aan het aankleden etc. waren, erg vreemd. Blij dat ik hier maar 1 nacht sliep.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026I had a very enjoyable stay at Aloha Hostel. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always willing to support guests with a smile. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spacious, and the hostel offers a well-equipped kitchen as well as a small but pleasant backyard area to relax. The location is excellent: only about a 10-minute walk from the harbour and around 30 minutes on foot to the beach. There are also convenient bus connections nearby. Despite being on a street full of bars, pubs, and restaurants, the hostel remains surprisingly quiet and peaceful, making it easy to get a good night's sleep.
As a small suggestion for improvement, it might be worth considering replacing the paper towels with a softer variety, as the current ones are a little rough. Other than that, everything was great, and I would happily stay here again and recommend it to other travellers visiting the Algarve.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026El alojamiento está bien, cerca de la estación de tren. La habitación era espaciosa, con taquilla y aire acondicionado que en verano se agradece. Tenía una pequeña terraza y un comedor. El recepcionista era simpático y ayudaba en todo.
Solo había dos baños y dos duchas para todos los huéspedes, me parece que son muy pocos para todos. Esta un poco lejos de la playa y la almohada era muy grande y algo incómoda.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026The perfect hostel for staying in Portimão. This hostel is truly one of Portimão’s hidden gems. It has a perfect location in the heart of the city, close to the river, bars and restaurants, all the main services and public transport, as well as the city’s main attractions. The hostel is charming, beautifully maintained, welcoming, and exceptionally clean. The rooms, bathrooms, and common areas are spotless. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need, except for bed curtains. The bathrooms are well equipped and feature two showers, two sinks, and two toilets. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, and a lovely terrace. It’s the perfect hostel for a peaceful and comfortable stay. The staff are wonderful. Ingrid was incredibly welcoming, kind, and always happy to help, with a smile on her face at all times. The same with the other guy (sorry I did not remember the name) that was very friendly. Another great advantage is the excellent value for money.

Les photos sur le site ne sont pas à jour. Il n'y a plus la hotte, dommage ça rend l'espace beaucoup moins net. Le four est inutilisable tellement il est sale. La propreté de la cuisine est a revoir.

Reviewed Jul 7, 2026O rapaz da receção é muito educado, mostrou-me o espaço e esteve sempre prestativo. As casas de banho estavam limpas. A única coisa que senti falta foi de mais suportes para pendurar a roupa. A cozinha fica aberta o tempo todo e o quarto tem ar condicionado. A localização, para mim, foi espetacular. Há bares e restaurantes por perto, um supermercado com tudo o que é preciso a cerca de 400 metros, e os passeios de barco saem muito perto do alojamento. No geral, é um espaço tranquilo para ficar. Voltaria a hospedar-me aqui sem problemas.
A maior parte dos pontos de que não gostei nem está relacionada com o alojamento em si, mas sim com o comportamento de alguns hóspedes. Não gostei de ter um casal a dormir ao meu lado, partilhando uma cama de solteiro. Depois, por volta das 4h30 da manhã, um hóspede começou a ouvir uma oração e a rezar em voz alta. Também houve pessoas a falar alto dentro dos quartos em vários horários, o que acabou por incomodar. No primeiro dia, as janelas ficaram abertas e o ar condicionado estava desligado. Como estava muito calor, isso tornou o quarto bastante desconfortável. Outro ponto que poderia ser melhor é a privacidade das camas. Pessoalmente, prefiro camas com pelo menos uma cortina e uma coberta mais espessa, mas reconheço que isso é uma preferência minha, pois estou habituado a esse tipo de acomodação. Fora isso, foi tudo tranquilo. Não considero que tenha acontecido nada de grave, porque a maior parte dos problemas não foi culpa do alojamento. Apenas acredito que o casal deveria ter sido chamado à atenção.

I didn't like that the doors to the rooms didn't have a lock, this was honestly my only complaint.

Gostei muito do atendimento do Caio, foi muito simpático e estava sempre pronto para ajudar, até quando íamos para a rodoviária, ele disponibilizou-se a dar nos boleia.

L'ostello potrebbe essere più pulito. Non ci sono serrature nelle porte e di notte non mi sono sentita molto sicura. Il frigorifero potrebbe essere ripulito aveva un odore non piacevole. La proprietaria, pur essendo molto gentile, si è dimenticata di fornirci gli asciugamani, cosa che era inclusa.

In der Küche kann man gut kochen, auch wenn es nicht richtig sauber war (z.B der Lichtschalter über dem Herd war total fettig). Auf Nachfrage habe ich jedoch einen neuen Schwamm und ein frisches Geschirrhandtuch bekommen. 😀
Die Badsituation ist nicht gut. Duschen (2) sind gemischt, Toiletten (2) getrennt, aber alles in einem Raum, dessen Tür sich nicht richtig schließen lässt. Betten ohne Vorhänge. Sie wackeln, wenn man sich umdreht.

Literie vieillissante . Ça manque de rideaux sur les lits pour avoir un minimum d intimité dans ces grands dortoirs.

Reviewed Apr 6, 2026A minha estadia neste hotel foi muito boa. A localização é excelente e facilita bastante as deslocações. A limpeza também esteve muito bem, com os espaços sempre cuidados. O staff foi muito atencioso, simpático e prestável, o que tornou a experiência ainda melhor. O ambiente é agradável e tranquilo. Recomendo!

the bed mattress I stayed was a bit too old, but other than that, everything was all good.

Reviewed Feb 10, 2026leuk personeel om mee te babbelen, het hostel ligt op 20 minuutjes van onder andere de flixbusstop voor als je verder zou willen reizen naar ergens anders, goeie warme douches en een keukentje met frigo om te gebruiken!
er viel mij niet echt iets tegen! er is iets minder privacy in de kamers maar dat is oke als je weet dat je boekt voor een kamer met 8 bedden

Reviewed Jan 28, 2026前台小哥人超好！！！虽然比较迟才到达，错过checkin时间，但入住依旧超顺利。 由于淡季，完全独享一个房间哈哈，窗外的街景非常美丽！ 青旅位于中心，城市不大，出行便利。虽然总体空间不是很大，但功能上五脏俱全，最主要的是性价比高。
每个房间的门没有单独的锁，可能有些安全性的问题。

Le ménage dans la chambre individuelle aurait mérité un peu plus d'implication. La salle de bains individuelle est dans une courette au bout du couloir ; pas très pratique ! En Algarve, en janvier, il fait froid soir et matin. Dans les locaux , seules les chambres sont chauffées avec une climatisation réversible ; par conséquent, on se les gèle (mais vraiment) dans la cuisine, dans le séjour, dans le couloir, dans les sanitaires mais c'est général à l'Algarve, je crois.

Reviewed Jan 18, 2026Ich habe hier im Hostel im November 2025 ein Einzelzimmer zu einem guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis gebucht. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist sehr gut und alles ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Zimmer war sauber und geräumig genug. 10/10 Punkte, da alles so eingehalten wurde, wie gebucht. Falls ich mal wieder in Portimao sein sollte, würde ich hier wieder buchten.
Mir ist nichts negativ aufgefallen. Mit dem Auto ist es vermutlich schwieriger, weil ich kaum Parkplätze gesehen habe.
