Breakfast was freshly made and was delicious. Bed was comfortable with high quality linen.

The owners went out of their way to accommodate us - our husbands needed to eat breakfast at 6h45 on Sunday despite the kitchen only being ready at 7.15 but at 6.45 there was a fabulous cooked breakfast ready for them. I left my phone charger in the bedroom and the cleaner handed it to the office and I was messaged so I could collect it before leaving Graaff Reinet - that was awesome - thank you Breakfast was amazing by the way

Just a personal thing, the suite has an open bathroom so no privacy for the toilet. The other rooms had separate toilets so had we known we would have booked the other room. It just would have been nice to know before booking - but I stress, this is just our personal preference

Loved the tranquility of the place. Having an electric blanket on the bed for those cold Karoo nights is an absolute bonus. Host and staff very friendly and helpful.

I wanted to stay at a typical Graaff Reinet home. My room was spacious and lovely.

Le petit-déjeuner était délicieux et servi dans une ambiance chaleureuse. Nous avons également adoré la présence des petits chiens de l'établissement, qui apportent une touche de joie et de convivialité – un vrai plus qui rend l'endroit unique. Mais ce qui nous a le plus marqués, c'est l'humanité et la bienveillance qui règnent ici. Mon fils avait oublié son gilet dans l'établissement. Non seulement le personnel l'a retrouvé, mais ils ont pris le temps de nous contacter et ont accepté de nous l'envoyer à notre hôtel du Cap pour que nous puissions le récupérer avant notre retour en France. Un geste d'une gentillesse et d'une honnêteté rares, qui a fait toute la différence pour nous. C'est ce genre d'attention qui transforme un bon séjour en un souvenir inoubliable. Nous recommandons chaleureusement cet établissement à tous ceux qui passent par Graaff-Reinet. Merci encore pour tout !

Nous avons été très bien accueillis, dans un beau cadre, par des hôtes très chaleureux et de bons conseils. Si vous passez à Graaff Reinett, nous recommandons cette guest house, avec de grandes chambres très confortables et un petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux.

Uns hat es im Whyte House sehr gut gefallen. Rob und Aimee waren ausgesprochen gute Gastgeber und hatten tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen, Fahrstrecken oder Restaurants. Das Zimmer war schön und sehr gemütlich, die Lage sicher und ganz nah am Valley of Desolation gelegen und die Hunde waren super süß.

We loved friendly relaxed atmosphere and the Whyte's and team made use feel welcome. We really appreciated the local recommendations of things to do and best coffee spots in town (all within easy walking distance). Breakfast was brilliant. Bed was extremely comfortable and cosy. Plenty of parking on the property.

The host was delightful! He really went the extra mile to ensure we had a nice stay. The area and the view is beautiful. I wish we could stay for longer to lounge in the garden. The room is cozy and has everything you need. The breakfast was really good! Overall a lovely stay.

Large,beautifull room with balcony.There was aircon,gas heater and electric blanket which helped a lot.Our host switched on the gas heater while we were having dinner at a restaurant. Breakfast was great,freshley and personally prepared by host.Lovely room where we had breakfast.

Beautiful property but the vibe was off. The host greeted us with odd remarks and lots of rules, then insisted a room with an external door that didn’t lock was only an issue if we made it an issue. The lock was broken, the bolt was missing, and the host’s attempts at whacking the lock with a hammer were unsuccessful. The host suggested he book one of us somewhere else. We declined so he ultimately booked all three of us into another guest house called Sundays Karoo. This was a lovely experience including hash browns for breakfast 😋.

Shower pressure wasn't great.

We were welcomed back warmly and Rob was very helpful with our trailer, thank you. He also helped us with directions to the valley of Desolation and we had the most magnificent sunset up there. The breakfast was excellent thank you for a great overnight stay on our roadtrip.

We had a wonderful stay at Whyte House Guesthouse, thanks to the friendly and caring staff. The property offers secure parking inside, which provided peace of mind during our visit. We stayed in the upstairs room, which was incredibly spacious and felt like a honeymoon suite. The comfortable king-sized bed was adorned with crisp, clean white sheets, ensuring a restful sleep. The sitting area offered beautiful views of the nearby mountains, adding to the charm of the room. Our breakfast was fantastic—friendly staff at the breakfast reception made us feel very welcome. The vegetables served were freshly harvested from the garden; we particularly enjoyed watching the spinach being picked for our omelettes. The homemade sweet potato bread was absolutely delicious. The town felt safe enough for us to walk to Hello-You Cuisine restaurant, which we appreciated. Our host, Vicki, kindly booked our dinner reservations, a gesture we found very helpful. Overall, our experience was exceptional, and we would definitely love to visit again. Thank you for a memorable stay!

We had an absolutely outstanding night at The Whyte House. From the moment we arrived, Aimee and Rob made us feel like old friends – genuinely the friendliest people, and nothing was too much trouble. All our needs were catered for without us even having to ask. The room was spotless with an awesome king-size bed that gave us the best sleep we've had on the road in months. Loved the little touch of having wines waiting in the room fridge – perfect after a long drive. Breakfast was brilliant – homemade, generous, and clearly their signature. We sat on the deck looking out at the epic mountain views with coffee in hand, and it was pure Karoo magic. The pool was a bonus on a hot afternoon, and the whole property has that relaxed, "perfectly imperfect" charm that makes you want to linger. We will definitely be back. If you're passing through Graaff-Reinet, don't miss it.
