The friendliness of the staf, Judy and Amanda. Warm, approachable and made us feel welcome and at ease. I wish Judy all the very best for the future and we hope to meet again ❤️

Amanda was warm and friendly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The guest house is clean, beautiful and has an amazing view of the mountain as well as out of the hustle and bustle of the main road.

Amanda was available at all times to assist us with a number of issues. Breakfast was delicious and the cappuccino's were superb.

At every step we loved Maison d'Ail. Beautiful house, spotless, great staff, nice location.

A beautiful house in a beautiful location. The furnishings were a high standard and everything was really tasteful. Breakfast was great...fresh and cooked to order with fresh fruit, bread, cereals, juice, cold meats and cheese. We really didn't want to leave. Amanda and her team are great. We will be back and make sure we recommend Maison d'Ail to our friends.

Such an intimate setting, true to Franschhoek. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. Our stay was too short.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben vom Gastgeber sehr nützliche Tipps erhalten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir haben jeden Morgen ein frisch zubereitetes Frühstück bekommen und konnten es in entspannter Atmosphäre genießen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und könne die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Der freundliche Empfang, die großzügigen Zimmer und das gute Frühstück mit ausgezeichneten Omelettes.

Man ist 20 Minuten zu Fuß unterwegs bis zum Zentrum und auf dem Rückweg geht es die ganze Zeit leicht bergauf.

Nettes Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück, sauberer Pool, Zimmer im 1. Stock mit Balkon.. Gutes Gespräch mit Amanda.

Leider kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer, Distanz zum Ort relativ weit (am Abend).

Everything from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out was brilliant. The house is magnificient, the rooms are really big, clean and have everything and more than you need. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and I cannot put in to words at how exceptional ALL the staff are. I would HIGHLY recommend this accommodation and we will definitely be back.

Amanda was an amazing knowledgable host and the rest of the staff were also friendly and could not do enough for you. Superb breakfast (everyone mentions the omelette -it did not disappoint) . Loved the honesty box for wine/beer etc and extras like fruit and biscuits.

1 of us is a little picky (not me) on sleeping so a selection of pillows may enhance some people's stay ...... but loved it without !!!

Stayed 3 nights: everything was spot on from the moment we arrived & Amanda showed us around. With just five bedrooms, it felt just like a home from home. Located 1km from the main road, (it was very walkable for us & Ubers easy to get for the return) meant it was very peaceful with wonderful views to the hillsides. Enjoyed our freshly prepared (by Judy) breakfasts on the portico-ed veranda each morning, especially her freshly baked muffins! At the end of our wine visits it was particularly nice to cool off & relax around the pool. Thank you Amanda & your very special team for making our first visit to Franschhoek so memorable!

Convenient location, a 15min stroll into town or short uber drive. Lovely pool out front with comfy deck chairs. Rooms are very comfy, clean and spacious with high quality furnishings and a great shower! Breakfast is delicious and served outside on the patio on sunny days. Amanda, the guest house manager is wonderful and will look after you perfectly!

Warmly Welcomed by Judy and Amand. Beautiful garden and swimming pool overlooking the mountains.. Rooms very clean and comfortable. The breakfast were out of the world. Judy has.been working at Maison for 15 years and makes the best omelets I've ever had. Very kind and accommodating by everyone. Will definitely be back. Thank you Jessica

Close enough to walk into town but quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious.

Amanda et le reste de l'équipe ont été très accueillantes et arrangeantes. Amanda a été de bon conseil. Les lieux sont chaleureux et confortables, plusieurs espaces sont à disposition des hôtes (piscine, salon, terrasses).. La guest house est située à proximité du centre ville, accessible en voiture, avec possibilité de se garer, et au calme.

Nice and comfortable house in quiet setting bear to mountains of Frenschhoek. Enthousiastic and nice staff under good guidance of our host Amanda.

Stunning place with everything you need for maximum comfort! Hosts went above and beyond!

Lovely staff, great breakfast

The view, the peaceful atmosphere, the swimming pool to cool off after a hot day and the croissants!! At first I thought it was a bit far from the main road although walkable but that is what made it so peaceful and relaxing - I could have stayed much longer!

We really loved everything and Amanda unobtrusively made us feel welcome and cared for.

The bathroom is a bit dated and plumbing not working properly. The shower is mouldy and water doesn’t flow well.

Sehr herzliche und professionelle Betreuung von Amanda während unseres Aufenthalts. Die Klimaanlage stand während unseres Aufenthalts leider nicht zur Verfügung, dies wurde professionell kompensiert durch eine 15%ige Reduzierung des Zimmerpreises.

Sauberkeit in Zimmer und Bad könnte besser sein. Alles wirkt leicht angestaubt. Stark klappernde Fenster - weil alt - während nächtlicher Stürme.

Very nice location, with a lot of love for the detail. Facilities are great, room lovely designed, as well as the public areas. Located in a residential area, about 10 min by foot from the main street of Franschhoek with all the restaurants and shops. Amanda is wonderful manager and truly cares. Great for relaxing as well as vineyard and city tours.

If anything: By design, there is a nice but not stunning mountain view from the pool area. Well, that makes the stay more then wonderful and 9.4 instead of 9.6 ;-).

Amanda and her team did a great job - fantastic service and hospitality. We felt "at home".

Only missed a small fridge in the room. (Though, We did get space in the big one on the kitchen)

It was a real home-from-home. Amanda really looked after us throughout our stay and Judy and her team made sure our breakfast set us up for the day.

What an excellent property and superb staff. Exceptionally well appointed. Beautifully decorated rooms, very homely and great facilities. Pool a real bonus. Breakfast was very good. Quality ingredients and superb variety. Fresh fruit, granola, breads, cheeses and meats as well as cooked to order options. Located about a 10 minute walk from the main road but it felt perfectly safe and was well lit.

Amanda is een gastvrouw in optima forma! Ze helpt en adviseert graag met handige tips en heeft grote liefde voor flora en fauna. Heel gastvrij want we mochten de ‘s avonds de keuken gebruiken zodat wij op het balkon met sunset een heerlijke salade konden eten

Het zwembad bleek onverwarmd te zijn en het water was net te koud voor ons ( november )

Amanda hat uns sehr herzlich in Empfang genommen. Wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt. Das Zimmer war sauber und geräumig. Das Frühstück war frisch und lecker. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt!

Die Unterkunft ist etwas außerhalb (zu Fuß 15 Minuten von der Hauptstraße), zur Not kann man allerdings ein Uber nehmen.

Really lovely guest house. We had a beautiful big room on the top floor with amazing views. Lovely breakfast. Comfortable beds.

If it’s windy there is a lot of rattling from the windows / house. Made for one night of not the best sleep. Would be nice if the pool was cleaned more often.

Dit was werkelijk ons beste verblijf in Zuid Afrika. Het is een klein guesthouse met maar vijf kamers en daardoor is het serviceniveau heel hoog en heel persoonlijk. Amanda en Judy voelen als familie en het guesthouse voelt als je eigen huis. De kamer is ruim. Wij hadden een eigen tuin. Het persoonlijke kwam ook weer terug in het ontbijt. Het ontbrak je aan niets en er werd goed voor je gezorgd. Ook hadden we geluk dat we bij aankomst vroeg direct in onze kamer mochten. Het was ook nog mogelijk om (tegen betaling) te upgraden naar een luxere kamer. Zo fijn allemaal. We komen hier zeker terug.

Es ist ein wunderschönes Haus mit sehr liebevoll eingerichteten Ecken. Man kann sich hier super wohl fühlen und Amanda hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen und stand uns während des ganzen Aufenthalts mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Man fährt nur wenige Minuten in die Stadt und ist in einer ruhigen und sicheren Wohngegend. Das Frühstück ist frisch und sehr lecker.

Fantastic guest house - cosy, spacious, and lovely outdoor area with a fantastic view of the gorgeous Franschoek mountains. The breakfast and service was phenomenal. Would recommend to anyone!
