La stanza ampia e con una vista mare spettacolare, la posizione, lo spazio privato esterno alla struttura proprio sulla spiaggia, l’ambiente molto easy e friendly. Giovanni è stato un oste speciale, ci ha tenuto compagnia e ci ha consigliato attività da fare durante il nostro soggiorno. Il ristorante è buonissimo e i prezzi veramente ottimi, i ragazzi del Canopus anche veramente deliziosi.

Giovanni and the staff were as hospitable, friendly and helpful as they come. Location couldn’t be better - right in front of Cokes with Views of both Cokes and Chickens from the rooms. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable.

Minor details such as too many bright lightbulbs - need more ambient and soft/warm lighting in both the room and bathroom. Showerheads need more regular decalcifying to keep the flow straight and strong.

Giovanni e Barbara sono stati gentilissimi. La struttura è molto accogliente e lo staff è sempre super gentile e cordiale. Stanza super pulita e prezzi accessibili. Per il compleanno della mia ragazza abbiamo cenato li e ci hanno anche regalato una torta! Super consigliato

Location couldn’t be better and the room with the sea view is just breathtaking! You can even take a shower while looking outside. The staff is just exceptional.

It was quite pricey and also the breakfast could be a little healthier and richer in my opinion.

The location was great, the beach and the outside seating for the restaurant to have any meal sitting right on the beach but there was also shade. The rooms are spacious and welcoming and the staff is very helpful

The building work was soooo intense and loud. Also, the breakfast was so samey after 4 nights.

Location was ideal

The lobby and rooms spelt like cat pee. They have cats all throughout the lobby but for some reason our bedroom spelt of cat pee. They have given up on the current rooms they have, I assume because they are building a new complex. The shower doesn’t drain, I had to constantly turn the tap off while showering so it didn’t spill out onto the bathroom floor. The hotel locks its front door after roughly 11pm and doesn’t tell the guests that it does so or the key pass to get it.

Very friendly and helpful management and staff. From arrival to departure I couldn’t have felt more welcome and relaxed. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views.

I had a really lovely stay at Canopus Retreats for six days in a sea view room for two people. The location is absolutely beautiful – being so close to the beach and waking up to the sunrise through the palm trees was definitely a highlight. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the entire stay. The service was great, and I really appreciated being able to order food and drinks at any time during the day. The breakfast was also very delicious with a good variety. Another big plus was the flexibility: when I decided to extend my stay, they were very accommodating and even offered me a better price, which I truly appreciated. They also organized my transfer from and to the airport, which made everything very easy and stress-free. I was picked up and dropped off without any hassle, which I really appreciated. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you book a sea view room – it really makes the experience special! 🌴

A small note – there are quite a lot of cats around the property. Personally, I loved that, but if you’re not a fan of cats, it’s something to be aware of, as you'll notice it (for example in the stairwell needs cleaning regularly)

Casal de anfitriões muito simpáticos, atenciosos e acolhedores. A vista do quarto, o conforto da cama, a decoração, reposição de água como cortesia. A estrutura beira mar, café da manhã muito bem servido e delicioso. A localização excelente, com estrutura de restaurante típico italiano.

Excellent hôtel, au bord de la plage, le propriétaire Giovanni est arrangeant et extrêmement gentil, il organise aussi des excursions en bateaux directement au départ de l’hôtel 😊 La nourriture du restaurant y est aussi très bonne et le petit déjeuner aussi. Je recommande :)

Canopus é um local muito acolhedor. Gostaríamos de deixar um elogio especial a receptividade atenciosa e calorosa de Giovanni, Bárbara e Rana our brother! Fomos extremamente bem recebidos e excelentes comidas com preços acessíveis. Tivemos uma situação médica por ouriço do mar e eles foram nota mil!!! Guys you live in our hearts. Queremos voltar com certeza. Shukuriyaa.

Fijn klein hotel, goed restaurant erbij, elke maaltijd was lekker. Het hele verblijf gratis water en korting op je eten. De kamer was klein maar goed. Personeel super vriendelijk en het strand voor het hotel. De transfer werd geregeld voor je. Prijs viel ons alles mee, ook van het eten en drinken. Warme douche! Het eiland is een locals eiland

Elke dag nieuwe strandhandoeken zou wel mogen, die zien na een dagje zonnebrand smeren niet meer fris. Verder niets op aan te merken

Everything!! This place was a dream. Gorgeous balcony views, great restaurant out the front, great snorkelling at the doorstep, easy to get around the island, easy boat pick up and drop off. Giovanni, his family and the staff made it really feel like home!

This place is in a great location, on a lovely island and the staff are great. Views are tremendous, rooms are spacious with a great balcony. Transfers were organised seamlessly, and the location on the beach and beach beds give it one of the best locations on the island for relaxing. There is seriously so much good about this place, that it makes me sad to have to give the feedback below.

what stopped this being a great stay? 1. the beds were the firmest I've ever experienced. personal choice but just too hard for me and i have an orthopedic mattress at home! 2. the veneer is starting to lift on the flooring in our room and its easy to hurt a toe or too. 3. but the big one for me, is the odor of cat pee and male scenting, in the entrance of the area where you come off the beach , around reception and carrying through into the restaurant. I just dont understand why its not addressed and for this reason we chose to eat elsewhere in the evenings. its clear they are cat lovers and someone needs to care for the strays. But i do think they should a) all be neutered and b) fed further away so the smell doesn't occur. Likewise, I witnessed one of th lovely staff members per the kittens and then serve a table. each to their own but not for us. Sorry!

The location - right on Bikini beach and great views for the balcony. Eating outside on the beach every day listening to the sea.

Rana at the reception was super helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and I loved the beanbags on the balcony! I also enjoyed the hammock and direct beach access.

Hotel is in an excellent location due do it being right by bikini beach.

Few things do be mindful off. The bed is extremely hard (it was like sleeping on a plank of wood), your room Kay must be kept downstairs at all times when you are out and not in the room which we found very odd. Towels are only cha he’d every two days which made them stagnant and to get more towels or toilet paper was an issue. Felt like you were begging the staff for simple things yet we have paid to stay in their hotel so this is the least we would have expected. There is also a $30 fee if they find snacks or drinks in the room. Staff were not very helpful one guy in particular nor sure if he is the manger or what but if felt like everything was a chore to ask. Asked about excursions so which was role they don’t have so we found some on the island do go with.

Wonderful hotel next to the bikini beach. They have really thought through this hotel. Rooms are a great size with everything that you could want and a great balcony. The view from the rooms are amazing. As an added bonus, the windows are one way making the room very private. Internet is brilliant.

Ravintolassa oli ihanan tunnelmallista syödä aamupalaa tai illallista ja ihastella kauniita merimaisemia. Ruoka oli hyvää, söimme joka ilta majoituspaikan ravintolassa, Majoituspaikka oli hyvällä paikalla, pääsi heti rannalle uimaan. Ravintolan pihassa oli ihana riippumatto ja keinuja. Majoituspaikan yleisissä tiloissa oli kissoja. Siitä tuli kodikas tunnelma, kissat oli suloisia. Henkilökunta oli tosi ystävällistä. Meillä oli ihania keskusteluja heidän kanssa. Majoituspaikasta oli mahdollisuus lähteä snorklausretkelle. Retki oli edullinen ja siellä pidettiin sinusta hyvää huolta. Pysähdyimme katsomaan myös delfiinejä ja snorklaus kalojen ja rauskujen kanssa oli upeaa.

Huoneen lattiat voisi olla hieman puhtaammat. Ensimmäisenä aamuna sisällä syödessä kissat tuli pyytämään ruokaa ja tuli pöytään istumaan ja hyppäsi jalkaan, mutta henkilökunta hääti heidät pois ja saimme syödä rauhassa. Muina päivinä kissat eivät häirinneet.

Beautiful guesthouse right by the ocean. The view is amazing and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Good and varied breakfast. The beach bar and restaurant are a big plus, we stayed there for lunch… good food and nice to relax looking the ocean while eating or just with a cup of coffee! The staff is friendly and helpful. A perfect place to relax by the ocean. Highly recommend!

Las vistas al mar quizás. El restauran no está mal del todo, los empleados son amables, todo muy standard.

Demasiadas normas absurdas, como no poder llevar comida a la habitación, quieren que te gastes el dinero en el restaurante, tener que pagar 100$ si pierdes la llave de la habitación, es lo primero que nos dijeron de bienvenida, si perdéis la llave pagáis. Podrian estar acostumbrados y hartos de surferos donantes de uñas que la lían? No lo sé. No nos ofrecieron ni una actividad, no sé, vi pocas ganas por parte del hotel en cuanto a ayudar al viajero. Todo el hotel huele a meado de gato que da asco, es una pasada.

La ubicación del hotel es a primera linea de playa, lo cual es ideal. El desayuno tambien estaba bien. El servicio de recogida en el puerto y traslado al puerto.

Precio elevado de tasas mas de 150€ (sino recuerdo mal). El hotel esta lleno de gatos (lo cual no nos molestó en ningún momento nos encantan los animales) pero si que oliese demasiado a pis de gato no nos gustó, deberian limpiar muuuuchas mas veces al día para que no oliese a eso. El desayuno bien, bastante completo pero hay cafés como espresso o latte que no entran en el desayuno y hay que pagarlos. Tenias una nevera, pero no se puede comer ni beber (solo agua que pone el hotel) nada en las habitaciones sino te cobran un suplemento. Delante de nuestra habitación había una gotera. En el restaurante se come bien pero es un poco caro, aunque si eres huesped te hace un pequeño descuento.

Ci siamo trovati benissimo in questa guest house! La struttura è accogliente e curata, il cibo è davvero ottimo e si nota l’attenzione in ogni piatto. Tutto il personale è sempre cordiale, gentile e disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza. I proprietari, Barbara e Giovanni, sono due persone fantastiche, che ti fanno sentire a casa fin dal primo momento. Un soggiorno indimenticabile, che consigliamo a chi cerca un’esperienza autentica alle Maldive! 🌴✨

Everything was great. The staff, the hotel owners were all friendly and polite. They are always ready to help you with anything. The restaurant was great, the food was delicious and there was a lot of variety, and the prices were reasonable. There were cats around, which added a special touch to the atmosphere. The beach was beautiful and clean.

Everything was great. It would be great if there was a hairdryer and slippers in the rooms.

L’ospitalità dello staff, la modernità degli ambienti e del trattamento, la cucina eccezionale anche sulla spiaggia.

Non c’erano proposte di gite/escursioni, ma ci hanno consigliato dove andare.

Il personale è educato, rispettoso e super disponibile. Io e il mio fidanzato ci siamo trovati benissimo. La stanza è super pulita e passano 2 volte al giorno a fare il refill dell’acqua (se necessario). Cibo ottimo e prezzi decisamente accessibili. Posizione ottima anche per via delle spiagge bikini proprio lì davanti. Abbiamo apprezzato anche la disponibilità nel chiamare un auto per portarti dall’altra parte dell’isola, tutto a spese dell’hotel.

Gli asciugamani del bagno al momento vengono cambiati ogni 3 giorni, consigliere di cambiarli almeno ogni 2 giorni, se non tutti i giorni, considerato che non si possono stendere e quindi rimanendo bagnati tendono poi a puzzare.

Su ubicación y las vistas son inmejorables. Está muy cerca de dos de los principales surf spots de la isla. El personal es muy amable, sobre todo Rana el manager de la recepción fue muy atento. Además la comida está buena.

The room met our expectations—clean, comfortable, and just as described. Breakfast was varied, fresh, and of good quality.

Although some early-morning activities are available on the island, it was disappointing that no coffee was offered before breakfast time. We had read about the issue with cats in previous reviews, and, although we are animal lovers, the situation seems poorly managed—the smell on the shared stairway was unpleasant and persistent."

The staff were exceptional - went above and beyond and were always available to help. Location was excellent, just in front of the property is bikini beach and the hotel puts up sunbeds for you on request

Location right on the beach. Staff very friendly and eager to please.Sea view room clean with housekeeping attentive. Staff happy to arrange excursions and private taxi back to airport. Ranga (spelling) who runs reception is outstanding 10 out of 10 but is sadly let down by the owners.

Booked 2 non sea facing rooms, they have no outside windows. 1 room has a window of the Internal courtyard with views of cleaning materials and rubbish bins. Only 1 room had a safe. They had a very stale smell. After 16hours travel we tried to sleep but there is a unit on the outside of the wall that clicks on and of every 30 seconds. Sleep is not possible. I informed reception we will cancel our bookings and leave the next day. They did move us to a Seaview room. But we gave up 2 rooms for 1 and all 3 people had to share. There are more than 15 cats that live in the restaurant and reception. The stink is unbelievable. The cats spray inside the hotel. They also all defecate on the beach where you eat, lay on the sundowners and walk. We personally saw this many times. The building noise goes from 7am to 8pm. Most of the time we sat at other beaches so no advantage paying for this hotel. The staff are great but I am sorry I can not recommend it while the cat issue and building noise exists. I notice the owner accepts positive comments but denies the negative o es. Nothing I have written is untrue. Buyer beware.

Fantastic location and really lovely, clean rooms. The restaurant downstairs has delicious food. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. The little beach in front is beautiful.

The location was the best, in front of the beach. Rooms were clean. They picked us up from the port to the hotel what we appreciated it.

Beds were so uncomfortable and the breakfast was very simple and not too tasty. In our opinion they need to improve their food.

The view is amazing and being right at the beach is very convenient. The room was very spacious. The owner organizing our airport transfers and dropping us off to the port was very nice.

The staff didn't feel very welcoming. The bed was stiff.

Barbara and Giovanni are great hosts! The staff is very kind, service is great. The place is super clean, comfortable and with a beautiful view. Highly recommended 🙂

Construction noise: They are building another hotel attached to the existing one. Too many cats in & out of the building.

Great atmosphere, the rooms are directed to the seaside view which is amazing. Breakfast selection is basic but tasty. There’s a nice vibe in front od hotel as many people come around for lunch and diner. Really cozy place ro stay. We enjoyed it a lot!

Indeed you can smell the cats! The first day it was a bit annoying but then we got used to it I guess. Luckilly there’s no such smell in the rooms, only in the lobby and corridors. A bit of disappointment were the sunbeds as most of them were damaged and not fully functional. The last thing were the construction works happening just by the guesthouse. It’s quite annoying as you can hear it in the rooms and at the beach so better to change the location during the day. The calm day is on Fridays as it’s a day off.

The location , the room overlooking the beautiful beach with the balcony , great staff especially Babu helped to organize your excursions/trips and was available to guide for any concerns. I stayed for a total of 6 days and as a solo female traveler I had no concerns or problems during my stay.

Big comfortable room, lovely ocean view. Very nice breakfast. Lovely beach, easy to swim in the sea as there is no reef (therefore not much marine life so not a snorkelling spot, but we were happy to get our snorkelling etc elsewhere and this made swimming more relaxed as we didn't worry about standing on a sting ray etc...). We ordered some mocktails (Thulusdoo is a dry island, alcohol is banned FYI) and they were excellent, highly recommend! The hotel looks after the local cats so they lounge around the lobby (including tiny kittens!) - we loved to see this, the cats are happy and well cared for and don't bother anyone. They are well fed so none of them beg for food, they're safe and cared for so they're not afraid of people. It's such a nice thing to see stray animals looked after! In a lot of holiday spots the sight of cats and dogs struggling to survive is so upsetting but here at Canopus and all around Thulusdoo we noticed the cats are safe and happy, which was wonderful to see. This was a real bonus for us but if you don't like cats it may not be for you.

There is construction at the moment as the hotel is expanding. This seems to be nearly finished so probably by January won't be an issue. It was sometimes loud and disruptive when sitting at the beach but I brought my headphones down to drown it out, and the noise wasn't constant. It seems to be on and off from 8am to 8pm but lots of breaks in between. The hotel needs more shade at the beach - there are no umbrellas for the sun loungers and only one really good spot to get out of the sun. We don't like to sit in the sun, particularly when it is as intense as it can be here, so while we were comfortable in the pagoda/hut on the beach there are only four couches in there and if it was full there was nowhere we would be comfortable sitting as the canopies and trees etc didn't provided consistent shade. This is also an issue when eating at Canopus - it's lovely to eat with your feet in the sand but not so much when you're worried about sun burn!

The staff was very kind and available for any need we had. The rooms are spacious, well-taste decorated and the view from the balcony it’s simply amazing.

A wonderful hotel right on the beach, so you can eat breakfast and dinner almost in the ocean. Family atmosphere, cozy, very good cuisine (especially tuna curry and brownies!). For animal lovers there is a bonus in the form of cats, of which more than a dozen live here. Very nice staff and huge beds for couples.

A new hotel building is being built nearby, so all the sounds starting at 7.30 will not let you sleep. But this phenomenon is temporary.

If you’re looking for a simple place by the sea, without too much luxury, I think Canopus perfectly meets your expectations. It’s a simple place, not overly fancy, but it delivers on what it promises. I also wanted to mention Giovanni, the manager of Canopus. He’s a gentleman, a very kind and helpful person, and we had some truly pleasant and fun conversations with him.
