Spacious room with very comfy bed. Safe parking behind gates. Coffee making facilities, a small bar fridge and microwave in room. The electric blankets saved us during the cold nights! Large communal area. Very good location, very central.The host was very helpful and friendly

Great host, In fact, Mandy upgraded my accommodation to a large and comfortable whole apartment fit for a family of at least four. The place is Centrally located, quite and safe, and has all the essential amenities.

Nothing major for a single business traveler, however, I think the Kitchen equipment can be improved to fully cater for a Self-Catering unit.

Just off the main strip so it was quiet and you could walk to all the restaurants -and the rooms were bigger than expected

The room was lovely and enjoyed having the shared lounge dining room and kitchen. Outside seating area was good. Everything we needed they had. The bed was comfortable and was a king.

We had to wait for the braai area, so ended up eating late. I did query this and were told there was a portable braai avaiable. Unfortunatly it was too late for us as there were no staff on site.

The serenity of the location. And the host was very friendly and accommodating

We stayed in the cottage for three nights. Place was clean and Sissie comes in every day. Bed is King-size but not extra length. Aircon in the lounge area with ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Main bedroom is big. For the price you pay you get good value. I did not expected to have DSTv and missed more than half the F1. We did not use the kitchen other than making coffee and pouring cooldrinks. The fridge/freezer is big enough. Christine is a nice host and will try to keep you happy.

The sliding gate is smallish and even stops before the end of the opening because of the installation. You have to reverse out of the property and do not know if the gate will close on you. (I only discovered that the gate open when you are near it from the inside on our last day. It will not close on you!) The one huge bathroom is on-suite from both the rooms. However you work out a plan to overcome this with the barrel locks in each door. The glass in the bathroom doors is covered by curtains but an amount of light still shines into the bedrooms. The bathroom lights is put on from each bedroom and must be switched off at the same light switch. (Not dual light switch). You can't reach the mirror with the hairdryer. The bed side tables looks very nice but a little bit bigger would be excellent. The cupboard could also be more practical. Only one seat faces the TV and the others are for visiting. With such nice surroundings you should be outside.

Very quiet and clean Place in the lovely,hot town of Montagu.in comfortable walking distance of Restaurants and Cafés.if we will be in this Part of south africa again we will be sure to come back to this Spot.

The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable.

The parking area is not big. We went to a rugby match and when we came home so past 8 the whole guesthouse was dark, didn't know where the light switches were and had to find our way to our room with our phones flashlight. It rained that Saturday night and water dripped from the ceiling in the bathroom and there was rumbling noises when the bathroom was used, toilet or taps. Never met the host of the guest house.

Just super efficient, clean and comfortable. Good linen on the bed... lovely room, well kept.

It's very central. The room was spacious and comfortable although I had to keep the windows covered as they all looked out on the street.

It was quite hot and the fan did not help very much. If the TV next door is too loud, you can hear some noise. The room doors are not well isolated.

De accommodatie ligt op een goede plaats in Montagu. Vlakbij het centrum en dicht bij de start van een aantal hikes in de bergen. Het appartement is ruim en de host reageert snel en geeft goede service.

Het meubilair is niet zo comfortabel en wat verouderd. Het aparte,ent mist een zitje om buiten te kunnen zitten.

We were in the Queen room - Room 2. Just the light in the toilet needs to be brighter. Could hardly see when it was dark. Otherwise all was great. Thank you.

Very comfortable stay for myself and two kids. The aircon warmed up the living area nicely as it was very cold. Nice big main bed.

There seemed to be an overload of electricity when we had the aircon, heater and kettle on at the same time, which tripped the lights a couple of times. Being a very cold time of year, it was necessary to use all at the same time. The owner said she would have an electrician see to it.

Koo Karoo is a great place to stay if you are visiting Montagu. We stayed in the 2 bed cottage which was very spacious, clean and well equipped for our stay. We also had our adult family and 2 grandbabies staying in 3 other rooms and they were all equally spacious and clean. There are communal areas both indoor and out as well which was excellent if we all wanted to be together. The location is excellent with shops and restaurants in walking distance. The self catering facilities are excellent and such a bonus for the times that you would prefer to eat at home. We also really enjoyed and appreciated the pool . The staff are amazing! Excellent communication and so helpful . Koo Karoo was excellent value for money and we would definitley stay there again.

Main House had two rooms which felt unorganised.

The central location besides the church in the middle of Montagu is perfect. All restaurants are close in walking distance. The charming old style house has a small pool and parking spots besides the house.

There was absolutely nothing NOT to like about the place!! Loved everything. Christine's hospitality, friendliness as well as the splash pool which was most welcoming in the blissering 40deg heat!!

The coffee mugs could've been a wee bit bigger as we had to have 2 cups for breakfast The cutlery wasnt 100% sharp, very flimsy but overall we made the most of it. Christine went out of her way to buy a new Tin opener.

We loved to just relax next to the swimming pool, late afternoon with a cup of coffee. Everything is very neat and clean.

Walking distance to restaurants, very spacious room with a kitchenette that has all the basics you need. The desk is also handy if you just want to have a seat to read or relax. The splash pool is great for cooling down and the fireplace is kept clean and very usable.

The Koo Karoo Lodge is a very nice Guest house lokated in the middle of the historic town district of Montagu. The backyard offers several seating areas, a braai area and even a little swimming pool. Shops and restaurants are very close. Owner and staff are very friendly people! Thank you Christine and Audrey!

Lovely location in a very pretty, historic small town. The apartment was very spacious and well equipped. Also had secure parking, which Christine was kind enough to allow us to use after we had checked out until we left a little later. We loved the bird pond & hide just a short walk away, which seemed to have all the African Ibis in the world in one spot !

Clean and well-appointed. Check-in was effortless, and our host provided a full itinerary of restaurants in the area. The lodge was central and within walking distance of the main attractions.

Some additional milk for coffee/tea provided would've been nice and perhaps bottled water in the fridge.

This was the second trip I've stayed at Koo Karoo at. And it was just as good as the first. Quiet, peaceful and very relaxing.

Property was beautiful and the town itself was lovely. Our room was fully equipped.

There was some work on the property early in the morning and it was very loud. I doubt this is something that happens all of the time but it was a bit annoying.

Really easy check in, all rooms were exactly as described, beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. In a lovely little town with a bird lake, right on the gorgeous route 62

We had a lovely overnight stay in the self-catering cottage at Koo Karoo. Self check-in was easy and smooth - Christine was a pleasure to deal with and really helpful, both ahead of time and during our stay. The beds were super comfy. And the location was great!

Ample space, clean, comfortable with all required apparatus available. Friendly reception by Christine and her staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, will surely stay here again .

Lovely spacious cottage, warm bedding and all the amenities needed, and more, provided for a delightful stay! Christine was a wonderful host, she also provided great recommendations for our few days in Montagu.

Lovely facility with all we needed

Noisy neighborhood party and cars revving; but it was a Saturday night.

The dismissive manner in which the host tried to make an excuse for not having a bath( when I booked and asked for a bath). On arrival she telephonically told me that she would have to refund my money as there was no bath available. Also alluded that it was long weekend and it would be difficult for me to secure accommodation in Montagu. She however drove to the place and offered me another unit that had a bath.......and she hastily instructed us to cart our luggage to the other unit. She really was cold at reception. Her beautiful, wise and diplomatic mom did the honourable thing the following day ......and apologised for the misunderstanding.

Could not find a breadboard in the kitchen .

Christine is an excellent host, nothing was too much trouble. Montagu is a lovely place to stay

We originally booked 2 nights, but due to a schedule change could only stay 1 night, spoke to Christine Laubscher about this and she offered a refund of Zar 500, she was very obliging , stating she would inform booking. com but we have not received this payment yet.
