Some rooms showed signs of aging and needed maintenance.

Mixed comments: some say rooms are top class, others note the hotel/rooms are old or worn and many rooms lack a private shower/bath (room quality varies and some guests found it dated).

Mentioned issues with insects and odors; could be improved.

Multiple reviews explicitly mention cleanliness and tidy outdoor/indoor areas (Japanese: 清潔、環境整理得很乾淨). Overall impressions indicate good upkeep.

The setting is ideal for stargazing and adds to the unique experience.

Good location: nice garden/landscape, views, near convenience store and handy for visiting a nearby volcano. Multiple comments praise the scenery and garden.

Staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience.

Staff are repeatedly described as very kind, helpful and polite (e.g., assisted with car/rental company and police, 親切丁寧). Service is a clear strength but not every review elaborates further.

Food was well-reviewed and appreciated by guests.

Food is frequently praised (buffet dinner, sushi, sashimi, variety, rich and tasty). A few guests complained about specific dinner items (some meat was poor), but overall F&B is a strong point.

Star gazing facilities were excellent, but room equipment was lacking.

Outstanding onsen and bath facilities (indoor/outdoor, large, nice views), free alcoholic drinks with dinner, parking available. Onsen is a standout amenity in many reviews.

Despite high prices, the unique experience makes it worth it.

Value is a weaker area: several guests comment that the hotel is quite expensive (limited stay because of cost, expensive breakfast) despite good offerings.
