Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Great location, easy parking in front of cottage, very spacious and very clean. We loved being able to sit on the porch and relax. The AC worked very well. Communication was easy and contactless entry was great. Would definitely recommend!
Nothing really, except the main bed was a bit soft for our liking, and the keypad was a bit tricky.

The owners were virtually available whenever a questions came up (e.g., parking), and were very friendly and helpful.

Reviewed Jul 24, 2026Il n’y a pas de petit déjeuner inclus, mais on pouvait se faire des toast grâce au toaster. Il y a des restes en face ( déjeuner, dîner souper ) emplacement parfait pour avoir accès à tout. Collé à 3 secondes de l’épicerie.
Il y avait des gîtes mouches à fruits. Peut être parce que les poubelles sont sous l’évier , mais sans couvercle

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026We were so pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked into the suite! It was clean, modern and updated. The bathroom had the tallest ceilings and was so bright! The bedroom had a huge inviting bed, perfectly placed TV, and everything was laid out so well! We just loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The only thing would be to bring an eye mask as there were no blinds that we saw over the windows from the bathroom, which let in a lot of nice natural light :) The location also was PRIME! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

Reviewed Sep 5, 2025This is the second year in a row that we stayed at the Newsroom Suites and they never disappoint. The room was spacious and clean. It had everything we needed for the two nights we spent there. It is in a beautiful area, close to the lake and walking distance from the beach. There are some great bars, cafes, and restaurants close by and lots of very cute local shops. I'm so glad we chose to stay here again!

Reviewed Aug 20, 2025We have stayed at Newsroom Suites in the past and loved it, however we will not be staying there again. We were booked for a 2 night stay. In the evening of the first night we received news of a family crisis and needed to return home the next morning. While all of the other hotels and activities we had booked for our holiday allowed us to cancel past the cancellation deadline without penalty, Newsroom Suites refused and insisted on sticking to their policy, forcing us to pay the full night's cost.

There were all kinds of thoughtful amenities - I used a beach towel to take to the water and enjoy the sun. Everything was clean and in great condition. Staff were very kind and super easy to communicate with. Even though the location is on a "main" street, inside is peaceful and quiet. The lake is literally steps away. Very handy to have a food store right next door. You will honestly not regret staying here.

I choose the place due to its location in wellington and short drive to sandbanks. But I was really sold when I showed up and found a spacious, clean and comfy room. I will certainly be back!

Reviewed Jul 24, 2025The owners, in particular, went out of there way to ensure our stay was as it was, which was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for them whatsoever. On top of that, the Suite was immaculate, was proportionate in size for the two of us and the facilities within were excellent.
My only mildly unfavourable comment, was that I wished that there was an external private sitting area available. Yes there was a lovely porch with very comfortable seats at the front of the property but open to all passers by. Please do not consider this in a negative light as our stay was outstanding and I’d personally like to thank the owners for going out of there way to ensure our stay was superb.

Clean, high ceiling, one bedroom suite with sitting room, mini-fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker, kettle, dishes, cutlery and some kitchen utensils. Coffee, tea and cream/milk and sugar was provided. The bathroom was great, with a separate shower and soaker tub. Free parking was available. The management provided many amenities in anticipation of our needs.
The bed was a little too firm for us.

Reviewed May 22, 2025We were absolutely delighted with our stay at the Newsroom Suites in Wellington. It is situated at the center of this quaint little town. We were able to take full advantage of the local cafes, restaurants, brewery and bar. We biked to several wineries using the Millennial Bike Path all recommended by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. This establishment has really thought of everything. A secured storage for our bikes, a stocked kitchenette with dishes, tea and coffee and inspiring decor and art.
