Resort type atmosphere. Beautiful
Due to the high $ rate of this property staff welcome to inform us of pool and property rules is in a manner that is off putting in an accusatory tone of either we not listening or we will break all rules. We are seasoned travellers and the welcome at this resort needs some adjusting. I will say this, this is our 4th time at this property and we did see an improvement on tone and encountered 2 out of 10 staff members that carried out the harsh welcome.
Good location
The bungalow was totally overpriced. The 2 bedrooms were very small with only small double bed and side tables. No en-suite bathrooms. There is only 1 small shower room with toilet (with noisy flush). And service is minimal - only on request.
Small and quaint
Only downfall was the lighting in the bathroom in our room. Was very dark. Impossible to get ready in there.
Tout était parfait, le personnel est très accueillant et sympathique.
Nous avons tout aimé. Petite suggestion avoir du café disponible plus tôt le matin.
The view
It felt a bit like a portacabin.Everything had a charge having already paid handsomely for the room .The wristbands for the pool were a joke -who wants to go around with a paper band on one’s wrist !
Very accommodating, clean, and bright. They really think of everything you’ll need for a cozy stay and it’s already all there waiting for you in your room!
No bad things to say!
Love the design and comfort of the rooms. Great spot if you have a dog with easy access to the town centre and water.
I wish more of it was open, but it was at the end of the fall season.
Breakfast and coffee were adequate. Small little station with pastries and coffee brought out first thing in the morning.
Beautiful area by the lake to sit and swing! The pool and lounge area were spectacular. The staff were so accommodating.
Beautiful property- would love to come back when the restaurant is open!
Amazing place!
Pool side service
Our second time staying there 10/10 would recommend and will be back again!
Location e cibo al ristorante.
What a great stay at The Lakeside! I give it 5 stars for the rare-in-Canada pros listed here, but there are a few cons. Cons: -Cost: but I must say it is a great place that deserves charging more than the average hotels. I guess the issue is that even the below-average ones are very expensive in Canada, increasing all places' rates; -Pool hours: during the Summer, I would strongly prefer that the pool would be open until 8pm, at least, for overnight guests only. If the issue is pool service (food & drinks), I believe there is no need for the pool to have service until the end. 6pm is enough for the service - like it is now. -Bed: The only downside at the room is the bed that, having an iron frame, made a noise everytime I moved during the night. A bit disturbing. Pros: -Service: outstanding! From the friendly front staff to the restaurant servers and pool staff, everyone has a smile for you and makes you feel appreciated! -Pool: amazing! Water temperature was great, size is good (but it gets crowded on a sunny day of Summer), many chairs (staff went above and beyond to find me a place), very nice environment! -Restaurant: service was awesome, food was tasty (calamari, burger' salad was 100%, pesto pizza...) and the view.... wow! Unforgettable. At night, the place gets charming lighting, cozy tropical vibes. The mosquitoes? Not welcome! But it is expected since we're right by the lake. The bug sprays offered are appreciated! -The whole place decor: OUTSTANDING! Top notch!
Loved everything about it
We loved our stay here! It was like being at an all-inclusive in a small town amazing.
Feels like we were transported to another time and place. Property was immaculately groomed and clean. The pool and cabanas were dreamy and well stocked.
Loved it all!
Amazing experience. We went with our two dogs and they were welcome at every part of the property. The staff was exceptional, especially Peyton who served us once at the restaurant and the next day at a cabana. Can't wait to go back!
Great pec place
Good location, cleaning, and comfort.
The pool was very crowded. The property should prioritize its guests instead of allowing many outside visitors. Additionally, the pool should close around 7:30 PM instead of 6 PM, keeping it open only for guests. The restaurant should also remain open until late evening for guests.
It was very clean
The pool closed too early. A lot of rules
I loved the property grounds and how much it offered. The only thing I would change was the pool service -- a bit too pushy with trying to sell you drinks.
It was a nice stay
10/10 would go back!
Always love our stay here. The place is beautiful and the staff and owners are always so welcoming. This place will always have a special place in our heart. We wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else in the county when we visit again. Can’t wait to go back next year.
We loved the location, the beautiful property along the lake, and the rooms. The food, drinks, and service were excellent.
Food and drinks at the pool and restaurant were expensive, and the mini bar in the room was very expensive (e.g. $6 for a can of Diet Coke). The walls were paper thin so we could hear our neighbours flushing the toilet at 2am and talking. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were terrible, so we tossed and turned a lot, and didn’t get the best sleep while we were there. Lastly, they should really change the way to access the pool. It would be nice to have a wristband or key card to swipe in without having to wait for the bar staff to buzz you into the pool area. The bathrooms were outside of the gate and it was inconvenient to leave and have to get buzzed back in every time. We noticed that not a lot of people left the pool area all day. We travelled as a couple and it was mostly families and kids there. It was pretty noisy.
The property is amazing - pool amazing, restaurant excellent and access to the lake beautiful. Decor top notch!
If you are not in room 10 or the cottage your space to enjoy your own personal drinks and food is excellent but the other rooms have you tailgating in the parking lot. The gift shop / front desk is lovely and has a warm reception. What was a put off was political messages with the books they are selling. Entertainment, travel and sports events need to leave politics out of the experience - a real put off.
Unmatched view, super cute vibe, very friendly staff
Loved the outdoor space, however, the rooms are very simple for the price. Front desk staff was great but found that some of the servers weren't super knowledgeable about the menus.
This property is right on the water with an amazing pool & patio.
Beautiful property, rooms are quaint but clean and nicely decorated.
Strict pool rules. The only pool access is through a bar staff who must ensure you have zero drinks, including water bottles, and then you will be buzzed in.
Overall, I thought the property was very lovely and finished very nicely. The patio at the back overlooking the water is beautiful. One issue with the hotel is that they have a speaker on the outside of the office building that plays loud music all day until 9pm. I understand that it is the same music that is around the pool but it is disruptive to the rooms that are close to the office. The other issue is that it is very dark in the bathroom, it could use a bit more lighting.
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. They were well designed and very relaxing
Nothing.
Friendly staff, good location, beautiful views
Location
No restaurant No pool Too many facilities unavailable
Good size room. Nice toiletries. Walking distance to a great bar/restaurant overlooking the lake (Drake Devonshire). Unfortunately, the motel bar/restaurant wasn’t open for the season yet but can imagine it is great in summer!
Latches on the doors which meant they were difficult to close I.e bathroom door didn’t close fully. Limited light in the bathroom (showered virtually in the dark!). Fireplace randomly came on for 10 minutes at 6am. CA$500 deposit for the night was a lot compared to all other hotels we have stayed at!
Beautiful location by the water, comfy rooms, well located in PEC (Wellington). Staff was welcoming and helpful. Loved our stay and would come back in season to actually benefit from the amenities.
Because it was off season, a lot of the services and amenities advertised were not available. I.e. the patio was boarded up, the staff was doing construction work. Potentially advertising this while booking would be helpful - cost seemed a bit prohibitive, for what was ultimately a motel room (a gorgeous one, but a motel room nonetheless).
Fantastic spot in PEC!
Great location overlooking the water - but a quick walk to the bars and restaurants in Wellington. Room was cute and fit for purpose.
There are winter amenities (hot tub, sauna, fire pit) but they close with the office (early evening). We arrived just after check in only to find out that the hot tub and sauna were fully booked. This wasn’t mentioned in any of the pre-arrival messages.
Beautiful place to stay with great facilities. Will definitely recommend and return for a visit when it is warmer. But in winter it was a cozy romantic getaway. Just make sure not to miss the entrance
Not clear on included consumables. From what we could tell is that only the shampoo/conditioner/body wash is included. But the rest was all going to be charged such as coffee and water in fridge. If they can clear up that communication I would have no negative comments
Pool was greT
The Lakeside Motel is a lovely place with an excellent clean and modern style with friendly staff. We had a rejuvenating long weekend stay here and would gladly stay here again.
We liked everything.
The Host Brusb was very personable. Very clean rooms. Great restaurants and location on the Lake. Close to bike trail. Did have to drive a fair bit to get to Provincial parks.
extraordinary location, decor and overall vibe. the Management and staff were terrific and we loved being there. Look forward to returning back!!
The service onsite was very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are not soundproof. We were there on weekdays where the motel was not full, it was always us and one other guest. For some reason they decided to put all occupied rooms right next to each other even though there were so many other empty rooms. You could hear anytime someone walked around in the room next to you. Another thing, as a light sleeper the fireplace in the room woke me up every time time it turned on and was turning off. So I woke up about 5-7 times both nights. The hot tub on site is not free for guests and comes at an additional cost which was disappointing since the room already cost quite a bit. We were there during the Fall so we had less access to all their amenities for the same price people pay in the summer for akk access to amenities. Their pool and on site restaurant/bar were all closed. The area the motel is located in is walkable so it is very convenient which I do appreciate. That being said, it is a small town so everything is closed very early. Overall, the service was good and I do believe the spot is beautiful by the water, with a modern interior design however I do not believe it is worth the price that I paid. I think if they were to offer more services for guests in the fall and soundproof the rooms better, perhaps the price could be justified.
Excellent location and the view from the Ten was spectacular!!! Caught the sunrise each morning from either bed or the private patio. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was perfect!!! . They had a Porsche charging station on site that was free to use and had an output of 11 kw/h. Would highly recommend this motel if in the PEC area!
There is nothing that could be better. Staff were amazing!!!
Location
No cable tv
Loved every minute....without a doubt I'll be back. Only thing missing was coffee machine in the room so we brought our own. Grounds were stunning and the shop was 5*, LeLabo, Lakeside Motel gear/accessories. Walkable to restaurants and shops!
Lovely location with great facilities, pool was fantastic
Some facilities had additional costs, such as the hot tub and sauna and the restaurant was closed, none of which was obvious when booking in the season. Also, when reviewing the hotel whilst there, the price for our room plummeted significantly ($180 reduction). So it wasn't as cost effective as first seemed when booking. We were allowed to access the pool before booking in and the staff were lovely, which offset some of the disappointment.
Beautiful location and property. Loved it for being pet friendly and friendly staff.
Price was high for being off season.
Everything at this property was exceptional : location , cleanliness , staff etc….
The in room facility for TV viewing was deplorable . When we were shown the room by Brian , he told us the TV was an Apple TV and unless we had our own personal passwords to access the various apps , then nothing would work . Your website mentions that guests have access to Netflix which is not true . I never bring my passwords to access the Tv in hotels/ motels when traveling . We asked if free local channels would be available and he said no . Being an older couple we had retrieved to our room quiet early and so let me tell you it was quiet a long evening . Some improvement definitely needed on this . It’s a shame that this put a damper on our weekend .
What an absolute gem of a place. We stayed for one night to finish our vacation in the county, family of four with a teenager and 8 year old. We all loved the Lakeside Motel! The room was comfortable with everything we needed and nice modern decor. The pool area is amazing and the restaurant served great food with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful setting and nice room
The place was great. The rooms were clean and cozy. The staff were all friendly and ready to assist with whatever needs we had. We would definitely go back
Good location. Rooms and property were nice. Patio was pretty at night with the lighting and fire pits.
Too many rules that were explained numerous times to simply use the pool and towels. Having wrist bands and towel cards seemed excessive for a motel of that size. After paying 500.00 for a room, sauna and hot tub had to be reserved and had an additional charge. We choose to eat lunch and dinner off property. Extra charge to check in early as well.
The location of this updated motel was great. The patio view was excellent. Beds and room super clean and private.
The only problem was the music playing loudly nonstop at the pool with speakers all over the motel. Not a moment of calm. This is a major drawback of staying here. We made comments to staff about it but I guess that it is a rule to leave it on at that level which we found strange. For this reason would not stay again or bring kids.
Very nice
The pool was full of people and not relaxing. They allow people who are not staying at the hotel to have day passes to the pool so it gets busy. Hotel guests are not given precedence for lawn chairs or pool beds so it’s first come first served even for those who are staying at the hotel. The hotel guests should be able to reserve the pool beds and loungers with prioritization given to them. Bathroom had a strange smell and the room was not ready at the check in time. We were not even offered a free drink by the pool while we waited for the room to be ready. For the price you pay, the service is below standard and the overall experience was not comparable to other hotels within the same price range both locally and internationally. Lots of room to improve on basic service.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Lakeside Motel in Prince Edward County, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a serene, welcoming atmosphere. The location is simply breathtaking, with stunning views of the lake that provided a perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The rooms were impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the cozy bedding to the thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. They were incredibly helpful with recommendations for local attractions and dining options, and always greeted us with a smile. The motel’s grounds were well-maintained and offered plenty of space to unwind, whether it was lounging by the lake or enjoying a peaceful evening by the fire pit. One of the highlights of our stay was the convenience of being close to many of the county’s best wineries and charming shops. It made exploring the area a breeze and added to the overall experience. In summary, the Lakeside Motel exceeded all of our expectations. It is a hidden gem in Prince Edward County, offering a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and exceptional service. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, and we can’t wait to return. Thank you, Lakeside Motel, for an unforgettable stay!
Great place, nice pool, friendly staff!
It was a great location and very beautiful views!
Nothing liked it all
The property was very clean. It was a quiet place to relax. The food was very good at their restaurant but on the upper scale of prices. The pool was beautiful and there were lots of loungers. There was no breakfast until 11 and the town on Wellington was limited to breakfast options. There is a fridge in the room so you could bring food for a breakfast option. The staff were very friendly.
Beautiful setting and view of the water. Feels like you're on the ocean ! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend The Lakeside. Thank you !!
We stayed one night for our anniversary. This special occasion was shared with the motel when we booked. There was no acknowledgment by them during our stay that this was a special anniversary. We booked a room with a fireplace intentionally; when we arrived the fireplace did not work. The maintenance woman was so rude and shamed us for even wanting to use it. She said she could call maintenance guy but he would have to come from his home, emphasizing the inconvenience so we didn’t get to use it. Very rude and unhelpful. Otherwise the room was nice and liked the Le Labo products. Motel is in a good location and has a nice pool (as long as you don’t mind loud techno music in the afternoon ~ not my vibe). Restaurant food is disappointing ($30 burger was cold). Courtney at the pool was unhelpful and unpleasant. Made us go to the office to get towel coupons even though we were guests and made a big deal about me holding my wristband instead of wearing it. Overall decent place but definitely not luxury and not worth the $. Will not stay again.
Rooms were very clean and scented. Staff is very friendly.
Staff is very nice. Dreamy location
Very clean, excellent and very welcoming staff. Great location and facilities.
Music is played continually from about nine in the morning to almost 9 o’clock at night. It was too much!
Brian was tremendously helpful assisting us with navigating the area. The food was delicious, and the room was pristine and quiet. Five stars! Will visit again!
Fantastic stay, everything was perfect
