Hotel was nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Amazing views of the sea. Room we stayed in was brand new, they had just finished renovating it, which was great. Location was about 20 min walking from all the shops and restaurants.

Location to shops and restaurants a bit further. Also, from the hotel you have to take lots of stairs down/up + walk 15 min to/from the beach. Great exercise, but in hot summer temperatures, it wasn’t easy.

We spent 10 days in Hotel Rocca Della Sena on our honeymoon, and I think it was our favourite hotel we've ever stayed at. It's really well located to the town, but in a lovely quiet area, a short walk from the beach. The views were just spectacular, we spent every night on either our balcony or in the bar watching the sunset over the Aeolian islands. The staff were so nice, we couldn't have asked for more on such a special holiday. We are counting down the days until we can come back!

Our first time in Tropea ! Loved it mainly for the help for all staff from the Hotel they booked everything for us including dinner restaurants and boat tour . I really recommend this hotel to stay nice room and very near to the down town

Our location with easy access to the Lido ( beach ) was excellent, pool / Jacuzzi and views overlooking Tropea Beach ocean are spectacular!! Breakfast was both healthy and fresh !!

The room had a beautiful big balcony .. the view was fabulous. We were given a wheelchair room which wasn’t ideal, given we are fit and healthy. Bathroom had a bit of a smell as well.

Tropea has limited hotel options and this is cute little boutique hotel The only place we stayed in the whole of Italy that had satellite tv with language options so we could watch tv in English Great location and walking distance to everywhere Amazing staff

Such a great hotel. Every person that works there are so kind, friendly and helpful, they just made it the loveliest stay and made everything easy to arrange. The breakfast was great, as was our room with a sea view. Thank you! I’ll recommend to everyone that will listen.

Location was perfect, tucked away, in a quiet area but still close enough to the old town. Shout out to Paola & Giorgia and actually all the staff- they honestly complete the trip. They make it so much better. Everything was without a problem, they reserved dinner for us every night, helped with the airport transfer, always greeted us with a lovely smile and a small chat.

We loved everything about this property. It is very close to both the historical center and the beach (accessible down a long private stairway.) The views from the terrace out over the sea are stunning. The service was especially warm and efficient. The breakfast was delicious. We found parking easily on the street, though it’s probably a lot harder in high summer.

Thank you Massimo and team for a lovely stay. I was travelling solo and felt completely at home with all the team at the hotel. Special mention to Georgia, Selena, Paola and Francesco for being so warm, kind, friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a great location. A short walk to the old town and easy access to the beach. Lovely terrace with great views. Rooms very clean and beds extremely comfortable.

The location is fabulous! Minutes from the center. The room was the perfect size for 2. The view was perfect if the water. Everything was as promised and better. Beautiful hotel with amazing views. Our room was recently renovated and very clean. The outdoor terrace is a wonderful place to sit with coffee or wine. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and very good. Easy walk to town for dining and shopping. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Tropea!

Hotel w doskonałej lokalizacji z cudownym widokiem. Pokój z tarasem w zupełności spełnił nasze oczekiwania a oglądane z niego zachody słońca na tle wulkanu zostaną w naszej pamięci na długo. Personel jest bardzo przyjazny, idealnie dba o czystość pokoi i komfort Gości. Materace są bardzo wygodne a jakość pościeli i ręczników świetna. Polecamy to miejsce.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted and treated like royalty by Georgia who went out of her way to make us feel at home. The location makes it easy to get to old town, just a ten minute walk. The hotel and its grounds were immaculate and the views incredible. We booked one of the 1st floor rooms with a Jacuzzi tub on the private balcony and discovered a problem with the heat. Within minutes of notifying the front desk Massimo the owner, came and offered us the opportunity to move to a comparable room which we did. The hotel was recently upgraded and the room was spotless. Breakfast was outstanding with a great deal of variety and a wonderful lunch menu as well. Staff was friendly, polite, and attentive. Cannot say enough good things about this place and would highly recommend it!

I stayed at this gem of a boutique hotel last September during the Tropea International Film Festival — a week colored with long days, laughter, and late nights — and from the moment I arrived at 2:00 a.m., the team at Hotel Rocca della Sena enveloped me in warmth and grace. Even while helping trace my lost luggage in Rome, they extended the kind of care and calm only true hospitality can offer. Being half Italian, this experience felt more than comfortable — it felt cinematic, like returning to a familiar family scene filled with sunlight, sea breeze, and heartfelt conversation. The hotel rests quietly above the cliffs, overlooking the luminous Spiaggia del Convento, where dawn and dusk unfold like perfectly timed sequences of color and stillness. Each member of the team was genuine, attentive, and infused every interaction with gentle elegance and care. My room carried the essence of Calabria — refined, serene, touched with local artistry — and each morning’s 5-star level breakfast could have been the opening frame of a film on authentic Italian life: fresh, generous, and full of soul. I left with lasting gratitude and a promise to return — because some places, and some people, remind you that hospitality at its finest is not service, but storytelling and art from the heart. We wre running late for our arrival and did so after dark...which on Italian roads can be a scary thing for sure! When we arrived the staff was very welcoming and recognized we were a little rattled and poured us all a glass of wine and we just chatted for a bit to relax....and they were closing for the season the next day! The rooms were great and having the balcony doors open all night to here the waves and the breezes was sort of the best way to go to sleep. Breakfast was great, staff really went out of their way to allow us to do our laundry at the marina and come back to repack for the next phase of the trip...all while they were trying to do season close down! They were just wonderful folks and we would totally stay here again if we ever make it back to Tropea.

The hotel is intimate and comfortable with stunning views of the ocean. We also had a beautiful walk out balcony overlooking the same view. The staff were the best part - in particular a lady named Georgia who made us feel so welcome the second we got there. We still talk about her. We had the best time at this resort!

Fantastic property in every respect! Perched within incomparably excellent view of the beach and the coast. From my room's balcony and from the hotel terrace, you can see the ocean, Stromboli, truly amazing. It offers access down a long stairway to a fantastic beach club with swimming, activities, chairs, umbrellas, a restaurant - perfect location. Easy ~6 minute walking to the scenic old part of the town with restaurants, bars, historical attractions. The rooms were very comfortable and actually quite spacious for Italy. The staff was incredibly helpful and the service was outstanding. I would very much plan to stay here again, highly recommend it!!

This is a lovely hotel in a great location…10-15 minute walk to the old town with restaurants and shops. The ocean views are wonderful with chairs all Ali g side in order to enjoy it. The ocean is reachable by a staircase…lots of stairs but I felt safe using them. Our room was large, beds and pillows were comfy. The room was cleaned every day. Breakfast which was included was delicious with lots of variety. The staff were all very friendly. Francesco is the bartender and was always there when we wanted a drink and snacks. He made great Mai Tais. There is a small pool…about twice the size of a hot tub. This little pool came in handy for me when I reached the top of the stairs from the beach…very refreshing. Beautiful outdoor lounges and table and chairs. My one complaint would be their hair dryers…just a nozzle really with hot air. Other than that, I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Great place to stay in Tropea— close to restaurants and major historic attractions. The hotel booked our dinners and a wine tasting. No difficulties at all. Francesco was a wonderful bar tender and the person who greater us at the front desk who handled our bookings (Jackie?) was outstanding.

Very disappointed - not as represented on site. Room had a smell. Hotel is dated and areas were not clean. Staff tried but manager seemed like everything was too much for her to handle and she complained to guests.

What is there not to like about the property. The view, the location and most of the customer service. They could not do enough for you in this boutique hotel.

Great location and great breakfast

We recently spent 5 days at this wonderful hotel. The location is unbelievable and the views amazing. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast has everything you need to explore this  seaside city. An easy 10 minute stroll into the city centre, where you are blessed with choices to eat or just have a drink and watch the world go by. The beaches in the area are great and most have sand rather than rocks and pebbles. Yes it is a steep walk down to them but after a great day at the beach an Uber back to the hotel saves a climb back!! The staff at the hotel were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and the bar manager was very informative about local wines. We were fortunate to be there when the chef had a 6 course degustion evening, with paired wines. It was a truly wonderful experience we will always treasure.

I was assigned a wheelchair room and it was not suitable to us. The bathroom facility was terrible. The toilet was so high I couldn’t touch the floor. Staff was average in accommodating our requests. Always felt like I was asking too much even if it was just for ice for our room. Towels were very worn. Apart from that view was amazing.

Lovely hotel run by lovely people. This hotel is set above the Tyrrhenian Sea in Tropea, Calabria. It is one of the most idyllic settings we've experienced. Certainly, the beaches are packed with people, but there's no need to brave the crowds when you can sit on their beautiful deck and dip in the small pool which is perfect on a hot, sunny day. The staff is wonderful, and the included breakfast was amazing. We will definitely choose this hotel when in the area. Thanks for a great three days.

Our room is in need of some renovations. It was very dark, toilet always had trouble flushing. Big bathroom but no where to hang hand towels around basin. No where to put toilletry bags. Old wall hairdryer.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was always one step ahead and could not have been any more helpful. Special thanks to Francesco and Georgia but the entire staff went out of their way. As for location... The terrace has the most magnificent view where one evening we simply had a cocktail and a lite meal on the terrace with the best location in town! The best choice for sure!

This hotell is in prime position, overlooking the water and a 12 minute walk into the town centre. To get to the beach, they have stairs (184 steps, i counted) snd you can either sit on one of the private beaches, or like us, buy a €10 umbrella and ger comfy on the sand (the hotel supllies brach towels, no limit). The staff were all anszjng snd accommodating, could not fault them. Always ups for a chat, with a smile and they even laughed at our Aussie humour. Our room (305, seaview) was ok sized, with a great L shaped balcony overlooking the sea. The room was a little tired looking, the rain shower didn’t work well as most of the holes were rusted and clogged, but tge hand help shower was supee poweful, so i was happy with that. The breakfast was ggod, greek yoghurt, fruit, museli, nuts, cold meats, cheeses, bread, cakes, boiled eggs, bacon scambled eggs, sausages, espresso coffees (whatever you like), tea, juices and water. All in all in was a good 4 star hotel, but for the average price we paid €390/night, ww have stayed in better. But you do pay for the view. Also, the pool is a plunge pool/spa, not very large, so if like us you wanted a pool to swim, then be aware of this. Would i go back there....hmmm, i did love the position and the staff but fir the price, probably not
