Reviewed Jan 15, 2026De omgeving is rustig en het gasthuis zit in de achtertuin vol met bomen en planten. De gastvrouw is een aardige vrouw. Het gasthuis heeft alles wat je nodig hebt voor een primair verblijf met niet al te veel poespas. Ga je voor simpel dan raad ik the Lighthouse zeker aan.
Het is ongeveer 40minuten reizen met overstap naar het centrum. Er rijden meerdere bussen in de wijk. Kom je met de auto dan valt het reuze mee.

Several cats and I attracted the friendliest one to me. I love cats. Nice trees around and quite private. Thank you very much for having me stay :)

Reviewed Mar 30, 2025The location is great, a small 15-20 minute walk to Browns Bay. It's quite a hilly route so if you plan on walking be prepared for some undulation. The room had everything needed for a stopover with adequate on-road parking in the cul-de-sac. Easy to find and a private entrance around the side of the main house.
There was quite a strong smell of ammonia upon arrival. During the first night I found the culprit meowing at the glass door, not too bad if you're a cat lover. I also woke up on the second day to someone looking in through the glass door - probably checking to see if I'd vacated the property but would rather have the full privacy for my stay.

Reviewed Mar 14, 2024It was a lovely little unit, very cosy and well put together. Comfortable bedding and clean towels were provided and welcomed. It was very comforting, and the hosts even had little coloured lights that would sparkle in the trees at night.
The bathroom was a little bit of a squeeze, but nothing that couldn't stop you from having a wonderful experience.

Hosts introduced themselves and were about but not imposing and we felt we could have asked for help if needed. Homemade biscuits were yummy.

Reviewed Oct 12, 2023Met Bob on arrival who was very friendly. He offered to take me to the local pub but I had to decline as was bushed after my journey. The Lighthouse itself was ideal, containing everything I needed including an extremely comfortable bed. I was visiting due to work and it was lovely to come back to this peaceful oasis at the end of the day- it’s so quiet. It was great to have the deck outside where I sat in the sun reading. Despite being attached to the host’s house, it felt very private.
