Reviewed Sep 16, 2026The location was fantastic. Right on the St Lawrence. Be sure to catch the sunrise. Also the grounds on the river are very well maintained, and the breakfast lady was delightful.
The front exterior, facing the road, could use some sprucing up. The bathtub and shower head could use an update, too.

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026Cottage Room 17 was cowboy-themed, which was such a great surprise and made for a truly unique experience. I had a lot of fun taking pictures with the cowboy hat and browsing through the collection of Western novels. Upon arrival, I was also invited to pick some plums from the plum tree behind the room. They were absolutely delicious and such a lovely little touch that made the stay even more memorable!

Although the receptionist was kind and friendly, she was very hard to understand. We left before breakfast because we had to get on the road. Breakfast wasn't served until 7:30 which seems pretty late if you're just there for the night and need to get going.

The paint is starting to peel a bit in the bathroom of room number 5...needs refreshing There was a floor lamp that wasn't plugged in.When we tried to plug it in we noticed that the plug cord was very frayed. The lamp should be repaired or removed from the room

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Notre chambre donnait sur le fleuve et la vue était formidable du balcon où nous pouvions nous assoir. Le jardin devant le balcon était de toute beauté! Tout le personnel était très avenant et sympatique.
La chambre était un peu à l'étroit et les produits nettoyants utilisés pour faire le ménage contenaient du parfum un peu trop prononcé pour quelqu'un avec des allergies aux parfums.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026A primo impatto la camera appare un po’ datata e anche il bagno non è particolarmente moderno, ma nel complesso il nostro soggiorno è stato davvero molto piacevole. Il letto è molto comodo e la camera è dotata di aria condizionata e frigorifero. Molto silenziosa e tranquilla, nonostante affacciasse sulla strada Piacevole il giardino, che affaccia direttamente sul lago ed è attrezzato con comode sedie a sdraio. Anche la colazione ci ha soddisfatti, con una buona scelta di prodotti freschi e locali. Una nota particolarmente positiva va alla signora che si occupa della sala colazioni, molto cordiale, disponibile e gentile. La struttura ha un’atmosfera tipica e accogliente e si trova inoltre in una posizione molto comoda per una sosta durante un viaggio tra le 1000 Isole e Ottawa. Nel complesso, un soggiorno piacevole e rilassante. Tornerei volentieri.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Het complex is prachtig gelegen aan een meer in een schitterende omgeving. Wij hadden het geluk dat onze kamers uitzicht hadden op dat meer waardoor het fijn buiten zitten was na een lange dag.
De kamers zijn schoon maar zijn echt sterk verouderd. Er is zeker niks meer vervangen sinds de jaren ‘ 90. Kamers bovendien erg gehorig, kon ‘‘s ochtends om 7:15 al genieten van het gesprek van de buren. Hotel ligt erg afgelegen, geen winkels of restaurants in de buurt.

The breakfast isn't what it used to be. Potatoes were terrible. Eggs very hard to peel. The coffee was great. I remember years ago there was scrambled eggs. I have been coming to Dewars for at least 28yrs. We really enjoy it.

Reviewed Jun 23, 2026Die Lage direkt am Sankt Lorenz Strom ist großartig, die Unterkunft bietet sogar eine Terrasse direkt am Wasser. Die Zimmer und Häuschen sind terrassenförmig angelegt und in einem wunderschönen, gepflegten Garten eingebettet. Wir hatten zwei Doppelzimmer gebucht. Vor jedem Zimmer befindet sich eine kleine Terrasse mit Blick auf den Fluss. Dort steht ein Tisch mit Stühlen und einem Gasgrill zur kostenfreien Nutzung zur Verfügung. Wir konnten uns problemlos Geschirr und Besteck für unser Barbecue ausleihen. Es gab ein reichhaltiges, kontinentales Frühstück. Insgesamt war das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden wiederkommen.

When we went to extend our stay for an additional night, we were informed that we would need to switch cabins, which was not an issue for us. At the time, our young son was staying with us for one night as part of our shared custody arrangement. Prior to this, we had already contacted the front desk to book the additional night and were told everything was available and confirmed without any concerns. Later, when staff asked whether our son was staying with us, we answered honestly and explained that he would only be with us for one night. It was only after the staff became aware that our son had stayed with us that we received a call from the front desk advising that, unfortunately, there were suddenly no cabins available. This was confusing, as we had already been told the additional night could be accommodated before the discussion regarding our son took place.

First impression on arriving was of an older perhaps less well-maintained facility, but in fact everything was lovely and well maintained.

Il y avait un bruit persistant au niveau de l'entrée d'eau ou venant du chauffe-eau qui démarrait aux 20 minutes. La chambre de l'unité 18 a besoin d'un bon dépoussiérage et d'enlever toutes les toiles d'araignées du plafond. Le déjeuner est inclus pour 2 personnes mais on doit payer un surplus de $ 50. par personne supplémentaire, pour pas grand chose ....

Reviewed May 26, 2026I liked the cottage feel, everyone made us feel at home. I loved being right on the river and having a view. The shower had nice pressure with a new shower head. The breakfast was great! More than I expected and tons of room to have your own privacy. Cute outside area to sit right on the river and watch the morning fisherman.
Our room had a loud boiler in the closet with a locked door, it kept me up all night. The amount of dust inside the room also made us feel unhygienic and we assumed they probably weren’t fresh bed sheets either. Dead bugs around the windows, mold on the curtains in the windows. Our white socks were pretty dirty after a few hours of walking on the floors. :( This property had SO much potential. I feel with the right team, designers and management, this could be a hot spot year round.

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026Salle de bain un peu petite mais complète. Une tablette pour nos choses, débarbouillette pour le maquillage, séchoir à cheveux et rouleau de papier supplémentaire. Avec le foyer c'est une température agréable et un environnement romantique La vue est vraiment belle. On peut aller au bord de l'eau. L'endroit semble sécuritaire. On arrivaient après l'heur des enregistrements mais on nous à arrangé ça pour qu'on ait accès à notre chambre.
. Le lit aurait pu être plus confortable et le déjeuner est servi à la chambre mais on choisi pas ce que l'on prend. (Ça a plus l'air d'une collation que d'un repas) pour 2: 2 bagel, 2 beurre, 2 fromage à crème, 2 pommes, 1 yogourt, 2 jus en boîte, 1 muffin, 4 saucisses déjeuner. Reviewed Jan 20, 2026I came for the peace, silence and beautiful river view. The staff were wonderful and brought me a quick and simple breakfast that I had missed. So friendly and always welcoming! I've been coming for years and will continue whenever I need a break from the big smoke of Toronto. See you soon!

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026This is a lovely place to stay. It's clean and comfortable and is in a beautiful location on the Seaway. The breakfast is excellent. The staff are always very pleasant. There are rooms and cabins available and there's a cute nightlight in the bathroom.

It would have been nice to have water access for swimming or boating on site. A closet for hanging dresses etc would have been nice instead of hooks on the wall.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026It was not luxury, it was ok. I've stayed at luxury hotels for cheaper prices. Breakfast opens to late for us in working days. The rooms are small unlike when we stay at a Hilton with larger rooms. This is by far not luxury, but at times if the price is right is doable. It's more cottage type environment. If water is a must, they do have a nice sitting area by the water. The floors need some changes, but that is another story.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The location is very good, clean, breakfast is fairly good and staffs are super friendly. The garden is pretty. With the river right in front, the view is just fantastic. We happened to meet our friends from Montreal. They like it so much that they came back for their summer weekends for their last 3 years. We will definite come back.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026We loved seeing the river form or room and the opportunity to enjoy the outside area. Also was appreciative of staff interactions.
Felt that with rules worded so strongly about noise i was afraid that even a loud TV might be an issue. We thought to return with other family (and stil may!) but worry that any laughter etc that bothers others would be an issue. Just sounded very strict.

Les équipements, la cuisine bien équipée (pas de plaque de cuisson mais un micro ondes pour réchauffer), le lit de bonne qualité, la salle de bain. L'accueil très agréable. A quelques minutes de route d'une épicerie. Petit plus le chauffage / cheminée super agréable en plein mois de décembre.
