Location is very great for george town, you can go anywhere by walking. There's a coffee shop at ground floor with really good coffee. Cats roaming around in the backyard. Very available staff. Large beds

No curtains or privacy-like for the bed.

Strategic location, alongside Lorong Chulia.

The location is good and strategic. Nearby to Street art. The room itself really comfort and its been my second time there. Other guest also friendly.

Goede en mindere kanten maar ik zou er wel terugkeren. De locatie is top en de bedden zijn fijn: plankje, lampje, stopcontact, zelfs usb-c aansluiting. Ik heb geen last gehad van het krakende gebouw. Goede koffie beneden te krijgen. Fijn dat je gratis een handdoek krijgt en er is gratis drinkwater! De keuken is alleen magnetron en koelkast. Maar het is tenminste iets. De douches zijn fijn. Heel fijn om airco op de kamer te hebben, hoewel het met 8 personen wel kan voorkomen dat iedereen de hele tijd de temperatuur veranderd.

Weinig douches/toiletten. Niet echt hoeven wachten maar het is dus niet altijd even schoon. De deuren van de toiletten sluiten niet tot plafond dus je hoort alles. Niet heel fijn als je je tanden staat te poetsen. Niet echt sociale sfeer. De appgroep werd niet gebruikt.

La ubicación es buenísima, en el medio de Georgetown. La habitación núm 7, una doble con AC, estaba bien. Ell AC es IMPRESCINDIBLE y fue una suerte tenerlo. Los baños siempre estaban limpios y olían bien.

Todo fue bien pero no es un sitio para todos los públicos. Si el baño compartido y una habitación sencilla te sirven el sitio cumple de sobras

The rooms are excellent, spaceous and quite well decorated. As is the whole hostel. You need to het it though, first it seems run down, but then you see the barista bar and the communal living rooms, all very beautifully designed. This isn't run down, this is the "New York warehouse" kinda style, or in this case Penang warehouse. Many restaurants and shops do the same thing in this area. It's a former frame making business and they still have frames and the original sign i nthe lobby. The staff was more than great, they chat with you, they provide touristic information and were much friendlier than the staff at a 5* hotel in KL I am currently in. I had so much fun in the hostel meeting other guests as in Penang that I extended, two times :) So I first had a private room with bathroom and toilet, this one was very well designed and later a private room without the toilet and shower. Which is more fun actually because you are meerting people more easily when you travel alone. However, the atmosphere in the hostel is great, I was a little but jealous of the "dorm people" they seem to meet obligatory and make new friends every day. Then there is the hostel social chat on whatsapp, optional but a lot of fun, it also brings people together. And then there is the price point what can I say. When I retutn to Penang I'll surely return here, maybe even try a dorm room at my age..

The barista opened the coffee bar at 9:00, which was sad, I love coffee, but at 7:00 in the morning. By the time it was 9:00 already had enough coffee's outside. The coffee I did have however was fantastic, so try anyway.

Fantastic location and great morning coffee. Great value for the prime location which is very walkable to lots of attractions.

The building itself if is old and therefore quite noisy. You can hear people walking throughout the night and the private rooms are right next to the bathroom so you can hear people using it at all times of day.

It was lacking any sort of socialisation. No tours provided by the hostel, no social events, I joined the WhatsApp group for the hostel and not a single message to meet up, hang out, do something etc. it was very strange to feel so alone at a hostel !

Très bien situé, propre, spacieux, moderne, cours de yoga gratuit le matin, personnel agréable.

Il fait très chaud dans les communs à l'étage et il manque des équipements dans la cuisine (tasses, couverts, eau fraîche).

Pedimos habitación privada con baño privado. Ojo, se podía escuchar todos los sonidos propios de un baño, al estar la habitación contigua a los wc. Paredes de pladur sin aislamiento. La cama es de muelles, ojo que se te clavan.

Stayed here 3 nights at the capsule dormitory. The room was quiet during the night (not all the beds were occupied). Very nice hostel, one of the nicest I've stayed in long time. They also have some board games, couple books you can borrow, smart TV, etc. Location is the best as it's right in centre of George town. Most attraction walkable distance. Staff was friendly.

By the entrance you could have some nice art to fill the check-in area. That would be very good improvement. ☺️ Only downside was that on our first morning the barista coffee machine wasn't available. Staff could be trained how to use the coffee machine (it's not any science hehe). But couple coffee shops available on street.

We stayed in a private twin room that was pretty far away from the bathrooms in the middle of the night! Down the stairs and across the building.

One of the best hostel I have ever stayed in! I love everything

Las zonas comunes eran muy bonitas. El colchón de la cama era cómodo. Proporcionaban toalla de baño. Buena ubicación

Las literas no tenían cortinas y era incómodo y tedioso subir a la litera superior.

Nava atention at the reception, shes is always helpfull a d kind. The vintage Hostal is really diferent.

The staff were really friendly, the location is perfect and the room was pretty clean

We stayed in the private room and the walls are paper thin. The showers and toilets for the dorm rooms are next to the room which meant people were shouting, slamming doors and even throwing up (2 nights running) all night and it’s so loud which makes it impossible to sleep. The bed is also very uncomfortable sadly

My room was smelly because of one guy staying there and there was also a really old creepy man who made me feel very uncomfortable but this was just bad luck.

Das Hostel ist sehr zentral gelegen, viele Orte sind fußläufig erreichbar. Das Bett war bequem. Die Katzen(Babies) 😉 Es gab zu jederzeit Trinkwasser, was super war.

Der coole Look von der Unterkunft sieht auf den ersten Blick toll aus, versteckt jedoch einiges an Dreck und Schimmel. Bei der Beton-Optik fällt es nicht so auf, jedoch hat unsere Dusche und auch in den Ecken des Zimmers geschimmelt, es war viel Staub und Spinnweben im Zimmer. Das Zimmer hatte kein Tageslicht und war sehr hellhörig. Es gab keinerlei Ablagemöglichkeiten am Waschbecken. für Der Hinterhof/Außenbereich war sehr ungepflegt, dreckig und hat streng gerochen, das könnte man um einiges schöner machen und hätte viel Potenzial für einen schönen Bereich für die Gäste und auch für die süßen Katzen.

The location was great. Right in the middle of multiple Georgetown highlights. Staff was ok, but shoutout to the guy (forgot to ask his name) who worked 10 feb in the evening. He was lovely. As mentioned by multiple people it is quite loud, but for me it was ok. I was aware, but this is def. Not the place for you if you are a light sleeper.

Everyone really sticks to themselves. Would be nice if there was something organised by the hostel.

alles sehr sauber! Kleine Gemeinschaftszonen gibt es auch, in denen man unbegrenzt Trinkwasser auffüllen kann sowie Kühlschrank, Schüsseln und Teller stehen zur Verfügung. Die Lage ist auch super!!

Non è assolutamente insonorizzata, avevamo pur una camera doppia con bagno privato; ma era come se fossimo dentro ai bagni comuni. La “finestra” del bagno dava sui bagni e non si chiudeva, quindi tutta la notte si sentiva il via vai di persone nei bagni, non rispettose di mantenere il silenzio dalle 11 di sera alle 7 di mattina. Non propriamente pulita la stanza.

The environment

Fantastic location and really helpful staff - they always greeted everyone with a smile and were really responsive and kind when we had problems with our room. Nice interiors and lots of chill out spaces, plus a filtered water tap.

We had to move rooms twice, once due to a strong damp smell in the room and the next as the room was extremely noisy and kept us up all night (even with earplugs). The fact that it’s an old building gives it charm, but does not feel well suited for its location on a very busy road opposite a big mosque as the sound proofing is very poor. Not to mention loads of mosquitos in the bathroom - every time we went in we got bitten. Building often generally had a bit of a weird and off putting smell. With a bit of renovation to improve ventilation, plumbing and soundproofing, this would be the perfect hostel!

The staff members are so nice.

Location was really good for most of the places I wanted to do and visit and also 10min walk to ferry port. I stayed in a private twin room which was pretty basic but bed linen was clean and bed was comfortable.

When I stayed, there was no reception staff until after midday - and no contact number or instructions provided at the empty desk… The bath towels are old and tatty… I had to ask to replace mine twice due to black marks and thinness. The shared semi-outdoor bathrooms upstairs was not ideal. Became extremely warm at times especially during the day

Good location, good clean facilities and comfy beds with good pillows. Nice common areas with lots of space to chill.

We stayed in the 4 bed mixed dorm with double beds, there are no curtains on the beds for privacy and the locker spaces aren’t big enough to store both persons luggage if you have larger bags / multiple bags per person. Not exactly a dislike just something to be aware of.

The location is underrated yet very central—close to everything in Penang. The downside is the noise: you can hear conversations from other rooms and along the corridors, sometimes late at night, as if people were not sleeping.

Very nice hostel with excellent facilities. We don’t normally enjoy staying in hostels with shared room, but this hostel was extremely clean - the bathroom was always impeccable. You also had enough space in the room for your stuff and there were a lot of different areas where you could relax on your own

Not super social if thats what you want

- I loved the urban design of the hostel - You have lockers in the room, which is very practical. - The hostel is located very centrally so you can explore city on foot - clean bathrooms

- Two of the four toilets were not working during my stay, which was a bit annoying cause sometimes there are waiting times in the bathrooms - the room smelled a bit musty - I had some issues to find the hostel first cause there’s no sign outside the building

it was very clean, the decoration and atmosphere is great, the staff is nice, the location is perfect, it’s very comfortable with privacy.

Nous avions une chambre privée au rez de chaussée. Elle est excessivement humide (tâches au mur, odeur, minuscule salle de bain privée à peine séparée de la partie couchage, aucun moyen d'aérer la chambre car la seule ouverture qu'elle a donne sur la partie sanitaires communs). Je conseille donc de venir dans cette auberge mais pas dans la chambre privée !
