Great customer service! The hotel's cozy. Felt the 18th century vibe.
Like the decor, clean interior, good foof with reasonable price, and pleasant staff. Requested change of shower towels on our second day that didn't come. Expected a cr or wc in our room but none. Must pay extra php1600 per night for a room with cr/wc. Had to use a common cr/wc that is not of Western standard.
An old house aura of vigan. Some amenities like hair blower is not available. Friendly staff
Great customer service and food was awesome
Uniqueness that showcases the blend of antique and contemporary interior design
I liked the old inn, had many antique items and unusual pictures. Only thing I suggest is have earplugs along.
Excellent staff, always willing to please. Cleanliness is and services are excellent. Free breakfast was really good. The rooms were ready on time. No bugs. Toiletries were provided, and there were trash cans. Hot and cold water showers were available. Fresh towels and beds were nothing to complain about. Walls of houses in the Philippines are not insulated especially during the Hispanic era, so lower your expectations about a noise-free environment. I recommend packing a good noise canceling device to remedy this especially for light sleepers. An improvement could be done in the Inn’s slow draining sink. Overall, Grandpa’s Inn and the surrounding areas’ efforts to preserve the past is nostalgic, commendable, and highly appreciated. Kudos to the owners, staff, and the community as a whole.
Unique hotel. Like a museum. Complimentary breakfast is a bonus.
Old but fairly clean.
Grandpa's Inn was a wonderful place to stay in Vigan, with great character, kind staff, and delicious food. Within an easy walking distance of everything in Vigan.
The place is beautiful and historical…
❤️
very good for price. homey. close to all attractions
We enjoyed our stay at Grandpa's Inn and are glad we chose this for 3 days. There were some improvements that I'd like to share about the facilities, where their comfort room wasn't that clean as mostly it was dusty and no trash can was provided in our room. Also, we had to request for a light bulb for our bedside lamp. In regards to the free breakfast, I'd suggest considering more food options especially Halal food for those who don't eat pork or have any dietary restrictions. Overall, it was a good stay and really loved the vintage vibe of Grandpa's Inn. :)
There are big cockroaches in the bathroom, I wouldn't here stay again. I do not recommend it!
The hotel matches the cultural heritage area where it is located, but what I noticed most is the outstanding staff - ever courteous, polite and accommodating.
The hotel was very interesting. Very many antics. Service great and great location. My bed was a bit high needed a chair to get in.
We managed to get rooms for 8 people (3 rooms) and they were all fitted with aircons so thankfully we were able to cool from how hot outside was. Very nicely situated near calle crisologo but not so busy. Rooms were clean and bathroom was also very clean :) Thank you for the free breakfast it was just right.
We loved this property. The family room we got was pretty big (1 queen size bed and 2 single beds). I understand why people complained about the loud noise from the vehicles, however during our stay it was actually not that bad - we were able to have pretty good sleep. We also enjoyed their free breakfast meals and tried their restaurant.
Noise for traffic. Poor sound proofing.
everything is great and comfortable. food is amazing and staff are very accommodating. my only issue is the payment terms where credit card is not available. over all experience is amazing nonetheless
The place was very cozy, the house, though old was well kept. I specifically book them because of their picturesque interior. However, the painting on rooms on the wall seems off for me. Since the brick wall already served as an accent wall, the other walls should have been painted plain already. The complimentary gifts were great too! Generous!
Just what I expected a nice repurposed building close enough to the center of activity to walk to it.
nice
Beautiful property. The only issue was tv not working and cockroach in the bathroom (is that normal in a rustic property?) Otherwise, we love the property and would come back. Hopefully they treat roach infestation.
It is an interesting property. The history makes it special.
This is more expensive but had free breakfast so worked out cheaper. The rooms were large, has hot showers, TV, provided two bottles of water and shower in the room so not have to go to a common shower and toilet.
While the property oozes old world charm, the staff is super friendly and the food is great, the location while being close to the trendy Calle Crisologo, unfortunately it's located at the crossing of Quirino Bvld and Calle Bonifacio. As a result it's noisy 24/7 with the traffic especially on Quirino Bvld. So sleeping peacefully can be an issue.
이곳은 수백년 전에 지어진 스페인 전통건물입니다. 불편해도 하루 스페인식 거주를 경험해 본다면 매우 의미있을 것입니다.
The place is actually affordable. Hindi well coordinated mga staff. May nagsabi naka book isang room hindi naman pala. Palipat lipat ng room ang mother ko, may mainit, may barado ang cr. Maalikabok. Hindi sila nag pupunas ng ibabaw. Naka docus lang sa beddings.
What delightful, charming, and inexpensive getaway to Vigan. Two nights three days touring the historical colonial Spanish period homes and converted buildings. We didn't expect what Grampa's Inn offered;which was great ambience, delicious food, abd a super attentive staff who made us like were home. We will be back,
We came upon this hotel whilst I was looking for the best cafe in town. I found Cafe Uno via TripAdvisor and found it has a hotel accommodation. When we saw the rooms the decision was easy: move from where we were staying into this hotel. We stayed at the family room on the second floor and a double room on the ground floor. The rooms are pretty and well maintained. The hot water is temperamental though. Hot and cold 😞. I love the old-fashioned design and ambience of the hotel. They have a grill house too! Food is great with local authentic dishes. My advice? Add Vigan in your bucket list and stay at this hotel. 😊
Аутентичный, чистый, хороший отель. Отличные завтраки, хорошее местоположение, отзывчивый персонал.
(+) * Friendly and accommodating staff * Superb in house restos - Cafe Uno and Felicitas!!! Their poqui poqui is a must try!!! * good quaint rustic ambiance all over * The hotel is a literal 30-second walk to Calle Crisologo (-) * I'm allergic to dust pollens and I sure did have a hard time during our stay * We stayed at one of the room in the ground level, and it was literally beside the busy Quirino Blvd, and we could hear all the traffic!
I had been traveling for 17+hours before check-in last night at 12:30am. Your staff was very welcoming to me late last night/early this morning 🥰 I appreciate that after such a long trip from Mindoro. The room was very comfortable! Just what I needed, a safe and secure place to rest. Oh, and free breakfast... It was delicious!
After a looong drive, time to give our tummy a good treat! Bagnet is a crispy fried pork with a bagoong dipping sauce, and where else can you find it but here in Vigan!! Do watchout on your calorie intake please. But dont miss this delicious porky only from Ilocos! They'd better improve their service though.
You could hear the noise of every single tricycle, jeep, horse and car passing by all through the night. Even with earplugs, the honking would jolt me awake. There are only 2 tv channels. Wifi was strong though and breakfast was good.
Location was great (really close to Calle Crisologo), the rooms were clean and cozy with nice newly-renovated bathrooms. I loved that it had its own restaurant and cafe which was ideal for a night cap. Front-desk staff was always helpful.
Grandpa’s Inn will surely give you a feel of an old Spanish house in Vigan which is the primary concept of this place. It's like staying in a museum. Every nook and cranny is Instagrammable! Love the staff! Food at Kusina Felicitas is yummy and great coffee at Cafe Uno. They have a grill and bar just across as well. Whats good is that it is near the outer edge of the touristy areas of Vigan though it's just a block or two away from calle crisologo. History buffs would love the building as it is rich in heritage 🙂👏🏿👍🏿👫👨👩👧👦 ✅🎷🛏🏣🛣
Room is good, clean and spacious enough for couples. Location is great, only 2 blocks from Calle Crisologo with few minutes walk. If you great photos, go around 4-5 am in the area for a really back in time experience. Staff are friendly and accomodating like Paolo and Laura. Free breakfast was great for their local cuisine such as longganisa vigan, tapa etc...
This hotel is just a few walks away from Calle Crisologo, which you can visit until the night time. Have a restaurant and a resto grille with nice food, a coffee shop and a small souvenir shop. They also have parking beside the hotel. Grandpa's Inn provide good value for money. I made my reservation online and paid in full. The check in process was quick. The front desk staff knew what they were doing. A helpful bellman carried our bags upstairs. It has an charming old look. The place is unique and definitely a heritage. The rooms are very spacious, beds are comfortable with a nice toilet. Staffs here really went out of their way to make Grandpa's Inn the place we’ll definitely return to on our next Ilocos Sur trip.
staff are friendly, warm and accommodating. stress free area where you travel back in time in colonial times and of course their authentic delicacies / food.
Hotel is right in the middle of the main city. Amenities close by and accessible (walking distance) to the landmarks. Staff were very friendly and very accommodating. My parents also booked a room on the day and it was an easy process. We were all looked after.
i like the nostalgia. i did not like the choice of breakfast.
grandpa's inn is near the outer edge of the touristy areas of vigan though it's just a block or two away from calle crisologo. history buffs would love he building as it is rich in heritage. staff were super friendly and helpful. given that the building is vintage, i think the rooms need ventilation to air out. the room, while clean and the beds comfy, had stale/putrid smell that may cause some concern to some guests. overall, it was a nice stay. if you want to stay at an original vintage building in vigan, this is included in your options.
The place was accessible to the plaza. Clean and accomodating staffs. Highly recommended.
Very central located hotel yet noisy rooms. Continental breakfast would be a great option!
Amazing feels like home.
The staffs are very accommodating.
Negative: Reception sent me to their annex which is next to the main hotel, no wifi signal whatsoever in that building. Small room with small beds, mattress too soft. Water heater runs hot and cold. Positive: 1 hour complimentary kalesa ride, free breakfast, walking distance to Plaza, quiet surroundings.
Great place and price! Well preserved and staff are great. Free breakfast was awesome. This is a good place to stay to bring back historic memories. Clean room & bathroom. Close to main attractions, restaurants nearby.
Grandpa’s Inn was successful in giving us a feel of an old Spanish house in Vigan which is the primary concept of this place. The staff were all very kind and helpful showcasing the Filipino tradition of kindness and politeness 😊 The hotel staff arranged for us everything we needed from arranging the caritela tour ride and buying the souvenirs we wanted. Location is close to the heritage area and they provided parking for our 2 night stay. Its a shame that since their building had kept the old Spanish windows, noise and pollution from the tricycles penetrated thru the walls of our rooms making it uncomfortable during early morning until about 9pm 😩
Stayed overnight at this inn. We had 2 rooms, one with 2 single beds and a queen bed, the other had 2 single beds. Beds are comfortable, AC cold, shower had hot water and seemed new. Staff are friendly and very courteous. When booking a room, ask for a room away from the main road since you'll hear the trikes and vehicles passing by. Definitely will be back when in vigan again.
It's like staying in a museum. Every nook and cranny is Instagrammable! Love the staff!
The last time I stayed at Grandpa’s Inn was over ten years ago and the old charm is as attractive as the Heritage city itself! Immerse yourself in the illustrious simplicity of Spanish colonial past tendered by Filipno hospitality. Tranquility and comfort best describe the experience of this lone traveller, buffeted by the noise and chaos of the metro.
I was surprised to discover that the Felicita’s Kitchen is exactly located in this hotel. People have been talking about their dining experience and that was my initial reason to stay but upon discovering a stair leading to its hotel, then I immediately got so excited to check out the rooms that were inspired by carts and wheels. The rooms were all spacious and perfect for families and solo travelers. The most important was their very reasonable price rate that includes their delicious breakfast.
Our stay was amazing. Staff are friendly and the place really looks cool. A great placce to stay if you want to feel that local Vigan vibes.
Thumbs up for the food and rooms! A lot of renovation has been done in this place since 2012. Comfort rooms are now new and very clean. Staff are accommodating and very helpful. Calle Krisologo is only few steps away as well so very good location. Would highly recommend this to others! Stayed in a family room last May 2018.
Ok, I understand its an old building in Vigan, and old buildings are the thing here. But after 3 nights we were ready to move. Lots OF old furniture, interesting sculpture oil paintings, and a helpful staff only go so far. We were unlucky to have an outside perimeter room and Grandpas sits on the corner of a busy street and another VERY busy street. We heard loud trucks. Cars, motorcycles and trike cabs 16 hours a day. Besides those beautiful shell Windows only keep out limited noise and the cracks in the woodwork lets the diesel fumes through. Oh well, we did get a discounted deal online, what to expect? Maybe should have ponied up for an upgrade...
We had a pleasant experience staying in this room. We arrived at the hotel before check-in time, and they accommodated us which was an A+. The breakfast was great. We had an option to choose our food. The only thing I didn’t like was there was some confusion in the end that they were claiming I didn’t pay. I told them I paid through Orbitz, and they kept on insisting I didn’t pay. After 10 minutes, they finally said I paid.
Stay here if you want to experience the old school way of living. The location was very good. Has a restaurant with nice food. This hotel is just a few walks away from Calle Crisologo, which you can visit until the night time. The staff were polite and helpful as well. Also great that they have their own parking beside the hotel, which is fenced, and safe.
Food is great and the place very unique. You can see lots of antique things inside the resto. however, staff can improve their service and not so pleasant to guests. They are not also approachable. Their comfort room needs renovations.
Good place to stay, very safe and near to vigan main attractions. Had an enjoyable time
The room was good for its price, wide area inside,. staff are very nice they are the one who will keep in touch with you,.only that the common CR is very small space., over all its good
The staff is great and accommodating but the facility. Yes it is a shared bathroom but it was dirty and not well kept. Mud and dirt in the shower room. Cockroaches in the bedroom. It was hard to cancel thru Expedia and look for a new hotel thru Expedia. We had to literally walk around to look for hotels.
We stayed in this hotel 2nd week of feb 2017 . We reserved the family room for four adults and two kids , but we were placed at their annex room and the family room is too small for us so we took another room next to it . These rooms was accross the main building and within the restaurant, the restaurant restroom is adjacent to our rooms and people are smoking in it and we can smell smoke in our rooms also noisy with people going to the restroom. The room price was too much for its condition and where it's located compared to the main building rooms. The rooms are air condition with hot water but the beds are not comfortable. there's is no housekeeping , no phones in the room to ask for help at the desk . No internet in the rooms The good advantage is that tourist spots are walkable. BReakfast is good .
I reserved a regular room with private bath plus air condition plus breakfast plus wifi, when I arrived there I founded that they made changes to room title ( old trוck) and my room title became a -room without bath and without AC, I waste 3 hours at the reception, at the end they gave me a very small noisy room( above the raod, yes the room is just on the road) with no wifi. I didnt get my breakfast too, I asked for refund but they would not agree for that. Horrible, horrible.
It was amazing because the location is just walking distance to many tourist attraction and good places to eat.
