Excellent location, walkable to everywhere. Lots of charm. Nice employees.
The bathroom was incredibly small, the toilet ran (noisy), it was hot and stuffy.
Schöne Einrichtung, gut gepflegt u sauber
Straßenverkehr ist zu hören, nachts wurde es ruhiger
Great location! Bed was comfortable but most of all the staff were so accommodating and helpful which we really appreciated.
Bathroom was a bit outdated and carpet was stained but to be expected from a historic property
Central location
Costly, windows don't open, stale smell to room, bed sheets were dirty, couldn't get a complete set and had to use my own, mattress was broken and couldn't use one half of the bed.
Love the location and vibe. Breakfast was amazing. Like the old fashioned rooms.
I left something in the room and returned the next day to retrieve it and was told it was thrown away. I don't understand why they couldn't just hold it for at least a day. Very frustrating.
Great location!
The location can't be beat, and the sauna was a nice addition.
The restaurant was rarely open.
The hotel was very charming and a great location in Hood River. The staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable. I would definitely stay again.
The parking situation was a little unclear. Ideally, it would've been nice to have a dedicated lot for hotel guests, but paying for street parking probably cost less.
Super emplacement, belle bâtisse, beau salon de réception. Mais l’accueil très froid n’incite pas à y rester.
Nice rennovation hotel in Hood River. Walking distance to restaulants and breweries. Deshutes brewery was very nice for their signature pilsner and other beers and food as well such as burgers and salads.
No breakfast was included although there is free tasty coffee is available at lobby.
Location and welcoming staff
Portable A/C machine loud
Originality, front of house staff, Swedish restaurant next door, location
Great location and cute place!

Staff were conversant but not fully responsive to needs
Excellent location in downtown Hood River. Love the nostalgia the hotel showcases.
Great central location.
Our room was VERY small and the hotel really needs to be renovated. Lot's of peeling and chipped paint everywhere.
Clean, staff friendly and helpful, affordable.
Good location
Very stylish, quirky friendly and fun! Lovely decor cool team!!
Nothing
It was a great location and the interior was unique and nicely decorated. Having access to a restaurant in the morning was also great
This is a very unique old hotel. Lots of character.
The rooms don’t have fridges.
The location was perfect for walking downtown. We lucked out and found parking in front of the hotel which was a plus. The bed was quite comfy. I also liked the history of the hotel and the lift!
The bathroom and sink area was very cramped. The floor slanted downward in every room. The shower could be dicey with it producing either scalding or cold water until you could finally find a happy medium.
The history of the hotel
Dog friendly
Great location, lots of breakfast places, friendly. Double Mountain Brewery is wonderful- great pizza, beer, and friendly. Waterfront park is great for walking, but snooty trendy restaurants aren’t good value. Mike’s Ice Cream is a must!!!
Everything was great
The decor of the lobby and the rooms was fun. Loved the vintage theme. The location was awesome, too.
There were some elements that felt a bit dated. Also, my room looked out into the middle "courtyard" with the HVAC equipment. They could do a much better job of making that are more visually appealing.
I was in a historic queen room facing the river/railroad. The room was lovely with a comfy bed, and the air conditioner was appreciated. The location is perfect and easy walking distance to everything in Hood River. Historic queen rooms don't have a coffee machine, microwave or mini-fridge so it's nice to have the free coffee in the lobby and a mini-fridge and microwave behind the front desk to use as needed. Also, there's a 30 minute free parking spot on Oak Street to load/unload your luggage. I found free overnight parking on E. State Street just a couple blocks from the hotel.
In the hotel's info, they mention noise from Oak Street out front. If you get a room facing the river/railroad, you get noise there too. With single pane windows, you could hear all the activity in the parking lot below and the railroad. Ear plugs are provided but they can only do so much. The hotel provides free ice in small plastic bags (i used these for my cooler). Instead of refilling the bag, you have to get a new ice bag thus lots of plastic bags probably going into the trash. I think they should come up with a more eco-friendly way to provide the ice.
This vintage hotel was in a good location, making everything an easy walking distance. Room was tight but nicely renovated. The room was fairly quiet, but had no view.
As a foreigner, car parking was tricky (when trying to pay for it), but doable. Rooms were very small, with the bathroom difficult to manoeuvre.
historischer charme
bar war nicht geöffnet; sauberkeit mangelhaft
Room clean Breakfast great Staff helpful n friendly
The elevator lol
Very clean and well decorated. Location was great!
Hated that we were so cold from the air conditioning on full blast and that we couldn’t control our room. Parking was awful with there being only one area to park to load and unload. Was a steep street to climb and didn’t trust that anything in car was safe. The man working was very non-empathetic about it.
The location, if you don’t mind train noise
Everything was great, a little dated but clean. My only criticism is not having a dressing table, only place to do hair & make up was above the sink so no where to put your hairdryer or make up. In between styling I felt the hairdryer was just hanging but I got around it by moving a chair next to the basin.
I love the nostalgia and character of this hotel. My room was very clean and surprisingly quiet.I had to leave early in the morning for a hike so unfortunately I missed the breakfast but will definitely enjoy it at my next stay. The location is excellent!
I wish there was coffee in the room but they do offer a variety of treats.
A/C and fans wonderful, and the bed was amazing!
Drinks, snacks & soap, etc priced in the kitchen - at very exorbitant prices! $12 for a bar of soap!
Nothing
Had rolling bags had to carrry them down steps Toilet too low hard get up and down Not enough towels Dark in the shower need better lighting to AC hose kept falling out of window
Great staff and the ambiance of this restored historic hotel
Our room got a little warm overnight.
Lovely off -season stay in Hood River. The freight train adds to the charm of the town.
Location, location, location!
The air conditioner can only be set in a major hallway… And cannot be controlled in each individual room, which made it very difficult to have the temperature that we’d preferred in our room.
Adoramos o hotel. Localização perfeita, no centrinho de Hood River. Ficamos num apartamento para família de 4 pessoas que eu super recomendo. Atendimento nota 10!
Great location to lots of food and drink! Easy check in and a free beer! Tara at the desk was super helpful and a true delight!
We thought street parking was gonna be impossible at 4pm but got lucky. Had to pay but of course there's an App for that! Its an historic bldg so limited room. My hubby did not like the tiny corner shower. And rhe train goes thru all night long!
The hotel is very clean and nostalgic. Staff is great!
Parking is not convenient with only street parking available at a charge between 8am and 6pm.
History
Lack of private parking
Great location
Thin walls which made it very easy to hear the neighbors. No mini fridge in the room. The mirror in the bathroom was too high for my friend to use. There was no outlet near a normal height mirror. Room did not function well.
Close to restaurants
Old, noise from outside m, no parking except paid street parking
The location was great - right in the center of downtown. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.
We were getting ready for a wedding and we needed more mirror access, especially close to an outlet. It took some creative maneuvering for two ladies to get ready. The parking wasn't included and cost ~20 per day. It was loud over the weekends in the middle of the night. Lots of people partying. The hotel wants to charge you for everything it can.
Fantastic staff, location in our room was nice and clean, and our bed was super comfortable.
Nothing not to like.
The staff were amazing & the building has so much character
We loved everything!
Light filled airy room. Giant windows that opened for fresh air!!!!! Comfy beds. Super clean.
Only one chair for my party of three. Only one wash cloth for three people.(Asked for more) No counter, table or shelf to set our things, only the floor was available.
Cute historic hotel. Right in the middle of a vibrant downtown area. Easy to walk to restaurants, breweries, shops.
You have to park on the street and pay for parking.
Comfortable stay. All day coffee station. Old world charm and friendly reception. Nice selection of toiletries in bathroom.
Frequent freight trains through the night disrupted sleep, but they did supply ear plugs to visitors which we thought was a nice touch. Could serve well for trains and significant other too!
Great historic building and the location is amazing
No free parking.
Location
Again, we booked through Booking.com and the hotel gave us their worst room. My vooking said 'Garden Suite' , the space outside our windows looked like a garbage dump. It is tiny. Unhealthy, super processed corporate snacks in room. No parking and no unloading zone
Well maintain. Loxation
There is a coffee attached to the hotel. Poor service and hostile service by a manager.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. The old hotel has a lot of character and charm. The adjacent restaurant has really good breakfasts.
Wow, that vintage elevator is classic but if you're travelling alone it's easier to take the stairs-really needs two people to operate it!
Very nice, quaint and clean although it was small it was very affordable. We had a good time.
Cleanliness
Great location right downtown.
It’s an old building with lots of noises and the lighting isn’t the best. Central air so you can’t control your own rooms heat/cool.
Old town atmosphere and amenities
No hotel parking.
Loved the location; historic aspect preserved
Good bedding View of river
Carpet Steps and elevator
Location. Historic past. Nice furniture.
Nothing
Convenient, affordable, cute
Very thing walls
Very convenient to the things we wanted to do. Also we travel with e-bikes and they give us a ground floor so we can take our bikes inside. The gentleman at the front desk was wonderful
Hot tub out of service
It’s an incredibly unique property in the perfect spot. The staff is friendly and the entire space is inviting.
Needs fans for people who need noise to sleep.
Welcoming and very comfortable
I liked everything!
Location: Perfect... it is on the main historic center of Hood River within walking distance of everything cute. Love the little coffee shop just one block east. The decor was nice. Love the old photographs. Extras: LOVE the little room with a view and a chess table. That was the highlight! Broder Ost: Breakfast restaurant next door/attached... good, filled me up. A little pricy, but not bad. The smoked trout was DIVINE!!!
Bathrooms/Rooms: Small. Yeah, it's historic. But the Garden Queen is not for large people and the shower is small and the toilet also low to the ground and small, so it's fine for averaged sized people, but would be uncomfortable for very tall or larger people. Lights: There are patio lights on in the rooftop "view" of the garden rooms that are on all night and visible through the curtains. Also - don't be fooled... the "garden" view is a ugly view of a roof area, no access, pots with weeds and fake plants. Staff: Functional, but not friendly.
