⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at Fox Resort in Jaffna was absolutely amazing! The property has a beautiful garden, a lovely pool, and plenty of open space, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were also very clean, neat, and comfortable. The service was excellent from start to finish. From the front desk to room service, everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A special thank you to Andrew for the wonderful conversations and for making our stay even more enjoyable. It was a pleasure meeting you! Overall, this is a fantastic property, and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Jaffna! ❤️

We had a fantastic stay at Fox Jaffna, and the service was truly above and beyond throughout our time there. The food was incredible. As vegetarians, we were particularly impressed by how accommodating the team were. They always catered for our requests and regularly went out of their way to prepare additional dishes for us, which we really appreciated. A very special mention must go to Kabilan, who was exceptional. He arranged a wonderful trip to the Jaffna islands for us and was always available on WhatsApp whenever we needed anything. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, whether it was helping us source local artwork, arranging laundry, organising our trip or simply answering questions and helping with our plans. We would also like to give a special mention to the General Manager, Trevine. He was such a bubbly and welcoming character and always made a point of checking in with us to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. His warmth and personal approach really added to the experience. Sujeevan and Scotty also deserve a special mention for looking after us so well during meal times. They were always attentive, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The warmth, hospitality and personal service from the entire team really stood out and made our stay in Jaffna incredibly memorable. A huge thank you to Trevine, Kabilan, Sujeevan, Scotty and the whole team at Fox Jaffna for looking after us so well. We would absolutely recommend staying here and would happily return!

Jaffna is not well known for tourism (yet) and years of civil war meant that one could not visit it until after 2009. There are therefore limited hotels for international visitors but the Fox have done an excellent job refurbishing the former family home of the late Chairman of Fox Hotels. There is a lot of history to the place with two bunkers which were used during the civil war by the LTTE (Tamil Tigers). The hotel is nicely appointed. We stayed in one of the large rooms in the old courtyard which had real character and was lovely. Behind this is the landscaped gardens of the hotel and a very nice swimming pool plus restaurant. The food was good but possibly not yet great and they could perhaps widen their menu and offer a little more variety. Staff very friendly and accommodating. A very nice hotel which I would commend.

It is a very nice hotel, we enjoyed our stay very much, we stayed there for 3 nights. It is very cosy, clean and green. The rooms are Big and clean and looks new. They are cleaned 2 times a day. The restaurant a so good and the food very tasty. All the staff friendly and helpful. The pool are also very nice. We look very much foreward to come back.

The location of Fox Resorts Jaffna was perfectly situated a little out of the bustle of town, a beautifully renovated villa with spacious rooms, manicured gardens and best of all, traditional food from idli & upuma to Jaffna Crab Curry served with top end hospitality. Stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. All the staff right from the top management ( Travis) to all the other staff were extremely friendly. Special mention to Scotty attending to us throughout our stay.

The resort is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, and the food is delicious. We arrived very late at night, just as dinner service was ending, but the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Sanjeewa helped us get rooms with enough beds, took our bags to our rooms, and helped us get situated. The staff also prepared dinner for my family and me despite the kitchen closing within a few minutes. One staff member, Scoty, was especially kind and friendly. He answered all of our questions, was exceptionally attentive, and took the time to show us the historical landmarks around the resort. My family and I truly enjoyed our stay and greatly appreciate the outstanding hospitality of everyone at Fox Resort. We highly recommend staying here!

Visited Jaffna for the first time with my family and my parents. My paternal family is from Jaffna but most moved away (before the war) to Colombo. The hotel is really nice and the staff (shout out to Scotty, the other guy with braces and restaurant manager to name a few) were beyond helpful. The food is divine and the pool was clean.

Wow! So so lucky to have been allowed to spend a day here by the pool. So beautiful and peaceful. Lunch in the restaurant served by Scotty! So enjoyable: great food, great and interesting conversation with Scotty on Sri Lanka and history. His English is perfect, and he has great personality and professionalism. I hope we can come back one day and Scotty is still here.

A beautiful oasis in the north. From a small colonial era entrance, the garden opens up to the rear revealing a stunning space with pool, restaurant and accommodation. Very relaxing and soothing, aided by the super attentive and friendly staff. There was a good variety of foods on the menu to suit the tastes of local and international visitors; this hotel does very well when considering that compared to other regions of the country, Jaffna is far less touristically developed. A highly recommended stay.

We visited Fox Resort Jaffna for the second time and had an amazing stay again. During this visit, we were happy to meet one of the servers who looked after us during our last visit 3 years ago Scotty. It was so nice seeing him again. He is an amazing person, very friendly, kind, and always welcoming. We also met a new staff member, Parthikshan, who provided excellent service throughout our stay. He was always kind, helpful, and attentive. Both Scotty and Parthikshan made our stay extra special and memorable. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality we look forward to visiting again!

The staff was exceptional. The food was great and it was so peaceful. We had a lovely time there. It was also my father's birthday and the team arranged for a small cake which was served after breakfast.

My family and I always stay at Fox Resort when we come to jaffna and it is great to be back! The location is central and the atmosphere is tranquil and beautiful with lush greenery and a great swimming pool. The rooms are also spacious and generally clean although one suggestion I would have would be to change the incense-like scent that is present in the room to something more calming such as lemongrass for example. The hospitality and service at this hotel is unmatched! We were looked after with such warmth and care by all the staff but special mention to Scotty who waited on us at the restaurant every day and catered to our every need. His friendliness, initiative and kindness was deeply felt in everything he did and made our stay that much more special! The food was delicious and we especially enjoyed the hoppers they had at breakfast! I would recommend anyone to stay at Fox Resort for a peaceful and enjoyable stay where you will be well looked after!

I am Sri Lankan but I was born in London and I can attest that this is an amazing resort in the centre of Jaffna - close to the town and the temples. The food is authentically Sri Lankan, just like my mother’s cooking but they also have a mix of western food too. Service by the team is great too, 5* - a special thank you to Scoty for looking after us during our stay. He was kind and attentive. The pool is lovely and it is a very scenic hotel. A gem!! I am planning to return for my birthday again too.

The overall stay at Fox Hotel was super comfortable and relaxong. Agilan was very accommodating and very friendly. He attended to us and even accommodated to our special requests. The entire experience made it feel very homely and comforting. Definetly a place we look forward to coming back again and hope to see Agilan again.

Not prepared for rain very well given the cost of the hotel. Also a lot of photo shoots on going which made it awkward going in and out of rooms.

One of the best hotels I’ve visited. It’s not about the luxuries but the whole atmosphere was amazing. The food (Jaffna cuisine) was amazing and the whole place had a great vibe. As a former art student, I enjoyed the art gallery and it was a highlight of the property.

The pool opening times were a bit off but I am an early riser.

We stayed at this little Gem of a hotel . The hotel is just off of a busy road, but you would never know once you are inside the grounds. The staff cannot do enough to help you and make your stay memorable . We are gluten free & the head chef came out and explained to us which dishes were safe for us to eat . Which was such a help. We must give a big shout out to Scotty!, he was our waiter . This young man was so friendly and could answer any questions that we asked . He was so eager to learn about us & our country & history. He made our stay extra special . We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel . Andrew, Michelle , Sig , Rod & Mike from England & Scotland .

The hotel is as described and our Heritage room was lovely with a good bed and great a/c which you need, but the room location used as a back drop for wedding couples photography. Very clean property that has well maintained gardens, a decent pool area and a good on site restaurant. All the staff were a delight to deal with. Despite our Heritage hotel room being near a busy road other than the internal noise is was very quiet. Do book your Heritage room early as they get booked up and perhaps you may need make up to appear as an extra in this popular wedding shoot location.

The four Heritage rooms are located around a small indoor courtyard with pond at the front of the property in the old house. Here lies the problem.....on two of our three morning stay the area was festooned with brides/grooms having a wedding shoot which caused unacceptable noise and talking from 06.00. We were not warned of this and feel the hotel should not rent the area until a reasonable time e.g. 08.00. As a paying client one has a right to expect that one would not be staying on a film, set. I almost appeared into the shoot from my room door and recreated the scene in the movie Notting Hill in my boxers!

The communication skills and the high quality services we received from Andrew, the manager and the young team members Akilan and pradiktion ( I hope that’s the correct spelling) was outstanding. We stayed three nights and every dinner time they made us feel special and part of the family. I’m sure the two young men’s future in the hospitality will go far. Their fast professional an courteous. Thanks to Andrew and to the team.

I was at the Fox Jaffna Resort for couple of days in April to visit our ancestral temples I had an amazing stay thanks to Shane, Andrew and the rest of the staff. . They were always attentive, helpful. Enjoyed the traditional Jaffna cuisine and especially the seafood dishes. Definitely be back in the future!

Conveniently located in the middle of the town but soon as you step in to the hotel grounds it doesn’t even feel like you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a city. Rooms were spotless clean. Linens and towels changed everyday. Tea stations and water filled and ready every morning. Hats off to the housekeeping staff for a highly professional service. Restaurant staff was truly helpful. We traveled as a big group of 15 family members. The staff offered us to set up a big breakfast table to accommodate the whole family. They went out of their way to move tables around and set up the tables so we all can enjoy the meal as a family.

Absolutely amazing! The rooms were fabulous, the food was out of this world and the service was next level. Scottie was such a treat. He was so friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The Jaffna crab curry at Fox was the best I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back.

The most outstanding attribute of this hotel is the staff - extremely friendly, welcoming, courteous and going out of their way to make you feel truly special ! Location & Hospitality

Because of an open swimming pool, there were several mosquitoes fly's around bring it very unpleasant experience. Perhaps, the management to consider " Mosquito Killer with Eucalyptus Aroma Oil, Fly Killer Spray For Indoor Use".

It is a beautiful well kept heritage complex. Well designed and adapted to its new use. With a history to tell. As Sri Lanka’s in general, the staff is extremely welcoming, hospitality at its best. Always with a smile and a “yes” attitude. Food is also very good. Gardens beautiful and you can also learn part of Jaffna history in one of the bunkers. They have two. The other one is an art gallery.

The property has a beautiful heritage feel with a calm, relaxing atmosphere, and the pool area is a real highlight. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. What really stood out was the service — the staff went above and beyond throughout the stay and were genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming.

The only minor downside was that the menu could be a bit limited, especially for a longer stay, but overall this didn’t take away from the experience. The food and the ingredients that are on the menu were top notch.

Beautifully furnished and decorated, especially the Heritage Wing. All of the rooms/wings (even outside the Heritage Wing) are named after prominent Sri Lankan artists and the rooms are adorned with their art.

The controls for the air conditioning and shower are somewhat clunky and counter intuitive. Trivial first world concerns in the scheme of things. They were more than counterbalanced by the wonderful service.

The staff were all so so friendly and accomodating, everyone in the team were extremely thoughtful and welcoming. They made our stay so wholesome! The atmosphere is lovely! Will definitely be staying here on our next Jaffna trip. Thanks everyone!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Fox Resort Jaffna. The staff were exceptional as was the accommodation and food. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed six nights at Fox Jaffna. Our room overlooking the pool and dining room was spacious, clean and perfect. Daily “refresh” service. The food was very good with lots of choice either from the evening buffet or à la carte menu. We especially want to highlight the services of a few of the staff. SCOTTY from the dining room was very friendly and helpful – always willing to go the 2nd mile to assist us with menu requirements and ready for a friendly chat about his working and home life. SHANE on the front desk and general duties also assisted us with suggestions on places to see in Jaffna . He made sure we caught the correct bus. Dining room staff member PRAKTITIIN also looked after us – his quiet and friendly demeanour was appreciated. SIVASHANKER welcomed us on arrival and helped with a few logistical queries. Thank you all! Fox Jaffna is a haven in the city - safe, expansive manicured grounds, refreshing swimming pool and dining facilities.
