This place is full of aging people they think that they are posh but they are not I payed £593. for 4 nights which is excessive then they ask me to pay £18 for a breakfast the breakfast was cold the only thing that was hot was the plates then they charged £5.35 for a pint of fosters it's £3 in barrow then the. cheeky sods had a "appreciation " box on the reception and bar where you are supposed to put money in for the so called "good service " get real greedy sods then I got up late on the Monday and had to pay for 2 more nights they charged me £235 for 2 nights!!!! the best advice I can give anyone is DONT STOP THERE

The room was clean and location good for the purpose of my visit.

The smallest room I have ever stayed in wasn’t good even as a solo traveller two people would have struggled !! The bathroom was ridiculous especially the position of the toilet … My view was a brick wall opposite other rooms which made me close the blinds immediately … I was advised that the rooms were warm at least a cooling machine/fan were supplied however not a good nights sleep with this and the condition of the mattress … I do not except perfection but for the price I paid for the amount of time I was there seems expensive in my opinion.

I booked this hotel to be within walking distance of the concert venue. The dinner menu changed every day which is a real bonus to give choice and my steak was one of the best I have eaten for a long time . Good portions also. The waiter served staff were also very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay here. Also free cabaret show in the evenings for residents.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything was handled quickly and easily, from checking in and out to being told about the facilities in the hotel, where the room was located, times of meals. The breakfast was self service but it was always well cooked and tasty. The evening meals were fantastic with a choice for all 3 courses so something for everyone. The entertainment was excellent. The reception area was very well laid out and the lifts to the floors was an especially good bonus for us.

My only criticisms were that the rooms were too warm. Had to have the fan on all night and the windows open and the pillows were too hard. Our room was at the back of the hotel and the windows were quite dirty.

Love staying in the new wing and the room was of a good size with good decor throughout. Like the bar area and all the staff are great as usual.

While waiting for the rain to stop on checking out day i put £1 in the slot machine. I was then confronted by the very rude bar man, who asked if I was a guest in the hotel and to show him proof with my room key card, or buy a drink. I told him I have just checked out and I am going now and because of him I will not be coming back. The way he spoke to me was disgusting, like I was some unsavoury person who had just come in off the street. I am 50 years old, dress smart and well mannered unlike this bar man. I didn’t catch his name but I’m sure the management will be able to work it out from my check out day and time. The whole of my party was disgusted with his attitude.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff . Breakfast was great. Lovely bar area with a good menu choice. Food was lovely. Good room with plenty tea and coffee. Location is so central, spot on.

Our roomwas on the LG. I had requested a low level room due to our age and mobility. However, the window only looked out into a wall. We had no idea what the weather was like until we surfaced to a higher level. The music from the cabaret room was very loud so we felt we had to stay until it ended as we couldn't sleep. The air con was such that food went cold very quickly.

I liked the location.

The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were dreadful. The shower was either too hot or too cold.

Staff were lovely, hotel was spotless, great location. Not far from winter gardens. Entertainment in the evenings.

Room was serviced daily. Staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. The location was perfect for our visit. We did not have the breakfast but the lunches we had were good.

Its location to Blackpool Tower and distance from Blackpool North Station. The staff were excellent as was the hotel room and facilities. The evening entertainment was a bonus. Very good professional productions that were a joy witness.

There was nothing we didn’t like. It was a jewel in what has become sadly, a run down area. But the Ruskin Hotel shone. I would say that were it not for that particular hotel and its proximity to some national treasures, our stay in Blackpool would have been a disappointment. Thank you Ruskin Hotel for being an exemplar.

Nice clean modern room in good location close to Winter Gardens. Friendly staff at reception!

The only thing I could fault was the cocktails at the bar, they had to look how to make an Espresso Martini and when the barman made it he hardly shook it and then after pouring it he open the shaker and dumped the ice into it. I can’t even describe the taste either, it’s one of the simplest cocktails to make.

My wife and l spent 2 really enjoyable nights at the hotel. My wife needs the assistance of a wheelchair. Every single member of staff really tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our room was superb and clean. Breakfast and Evening meals were first class and again all staff assisted in every way possible.

Just had another great stay at the Ruskin our fifth visit. Excellent hotel great location.Food and entertainment is first class. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. Sean the compere is very funny and works hard to make sure everyone enjoys the entertainment. The Shush show was excellent. Our premier room was well worth the extra cost. We shall definitely be returning

First time visit to the Ruskin Been trying a couple fo hotels each year to try and find our permanent favourite The ruskin comes highly recommended with good reviews and word of mouth so we had high expectations When we booked we also upgraded to a club double room as we weren't sure how big the standard double room would be On arrival it was very busy, lots of us checking in. Reception was slightly over whelmed with the amount of people so we were checked in and sent over to another lady to get breakfast times and dinner times. On arrival to the room, the room door opened and hit the bedside cabinet door did not open fully. There was marks down the bottom of the door ( like a soft drink ) Bathroom shower door opened onto the control panel so you had to close the door slightly to get your hand in to switch shower on. Bottom of the towel rail was dusty Room was smaller than expected, our view from window was a brick wall so I went down to reception to check that the room was a double club room. Reception said it definitely was and if we required a larger room next time book a premier double . Have to admit the room that we received was not what we expected. And as we haven't stayed before not sure what the difference is between standard and club rooms, as we felt the club room was small. Other than the room issues everything else that gives the Ruskin good reviews we did see Lovely dinner meals with a wide selection and choice. Only 1 night from our 4 the 3 main courses wasn't really for me. Breakfast tea and toast was brought over and you selected the breakfast items yourself from the hot selection. Items were very hot so no problems there. Only thing we did notice was black pudding and scrambled egg were a little dry. Rolys bar we stopped for some lunch was excellent, and very good value. And we also stopped for a final drink after the evening entertainment Entertainment we stayed each night to see what the entertainment was like, couldn't fault it. Couple of games of bingo , wouldn't be blackpool without the bingo. However there is something wrong with my lucky bingo dabber, I think its defective. 2 acts that we had never seen with the entertainment and they were sensational were Martin Gregory lambert, and the shush show with Shelia diamond A special thanks for Staff that went above and beyond so deserve a mention Bar staff in entertainment lounge Christine and Connor Rolys Bar Brandon Restraunt George These guys were fantastic hope the hotel realise how great you all are x

This hotel is 3 star, in my opinion it should be four star, staff friendly and helpful, close to all amenities, room very good, entertainment good, will book again for sure

We have just been to the Ruskin for a two nights stay, me, my husband and our son. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished family rooms. We had a wonderful stay our son didn’t want to leave. Perfect location for the attractions. The evening entertainment was really good. You might pay a little more than other hotel stays in Blackpool but you definitely get what you pay for. I will be recommending and returning. Thank you Ruskin staff

There wasn't anything I didn't like perfect

It is close to the shopping centre and attractions.

The room was way too small for there to be a double bed ,as it took most of the room . The fan was very low and loud at night . We would have liked to know how to use the air conditioning machine as it was huge and we didn't want to break it . Only one bath towel was given .I thought there would be 2 for a double room. No mini fridge, so we did have to get water from the bar downstairs . Bar staff told my partner that this hotel is very outdated and more for older people . He was polite about it as we are in our late 20s . The walls are super thin as the hallway is very, very narrow and small .There was an oudor in the hallway, which is quite thick and dry .

Stayed for the final day of Rebellion festival at the winter gardens. Just 2 minutes walk to the venue, so ideal. Lots of parking near the hotel. Very good overall, nice breakfast and friendly staff .

The location is great. Close to everything. The atmosphere within the hotel is friendly and jovial. We had an issue with a bed in our room but when we got in touch with reception,Gary the owner upgraded our room free of charge as an apology. This was really well received. All the bar/entertainment/restaurant and reception staff could not have been nicer. They really make the hotel great. Thanks to Gary,Kaitlen and Sean for making our stay one to remember as it was our first time in Blackpool.

Brilliant hotel.We only stayed one night but reception were great and super attentive.The car parking garage was excellent and the guys were lovely. The room and bathroom facilities were really clean and superb.Credit goes to the staff. For a ⭐⭐⭐ hotel it was extremely good value. I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. No noise problems only seagulls but that felt like home😁 Keep it up and we will definitely come again

A well appointed modern room in this comprehensive and well run hotel offering excellent breakfasts and meals. Perfect location close to town centre and Winter Gardens . So impressed that the hotel stays open late enabling us to bring friends back to enjoy a celebratory midnight drink after our World Dance Masters competition. Highly recommended.
