Yolo Hostel Medellin

La estancia fue muy agradable. Gracias de nuevo a Fede, Milton y Ricardo por hacernos sentir como en casa. El tour por Medellín que ofrecen es muy auténtico y recomendable!

Echamos en falta alguna comodidad en la habitación, como un armario o una mesita de noche más.

La ubicación es ideal y las instalaciones estaban limpias y tal cual las fotos. Sumado a eso el trato de Fede, el dueño, fue genial. Amable, atento y muy servicial. Dispuesto a ayudarnos y aconsejarnos con cualquier duda.

La ubicación, cerca de Provenza, pero sin el ruido de las discotecas, solo con el sonido del río.

Teníamos reservada una habitación familiar para 5 noches (2 personas), a 181.500cop. Llegamos, pagamos en efectivo, y al entrar en la habitación, nos dimos cuenta de que nos habían dado una habitación doble con dos camas individuales, en vez de en la habitación denominada familiar que habíamos reservado (4 camas, una de ellas de matrimonio, más amplia que la que nos dieron). Días después, conseguimos hablar con el jefe (Federico), y nos explicó que la habitación familiar la habían reservado para guardar provisiones tras el terremoto de hace unos días. Nos pareció una razón de peso, pero el caso es que la habitación doble costaba 675.000cop y no nos quiso devolver la diferencia de 166.500cop, poniendo mil excusas. Vamos, que nos ha estafado unos 45€. Confiamos en que se destinen para la tragedia ocurrida. Comentario editado: se puede ver la diferencia de precios simplemente consultando los dos tipos de habitación.

L'accueil etait charmant, on avait une chambre individuelle pour 3, très confort malgré la rusticité de l'endroit. L'hôtel est juste en bordure du quartier animé, mais finalement peu bruyant. La salle à hamac est très appréciable. Très bons petits déj à base de fruits et de granola :ça fait du bien ! On n'avait peu de temps sur Medellin, alors on a opté pour la visite guidee avec Ricardo : très instructive !

La "location" pour les serviettes, 10 000 COP pour une, et il n'en restait qu'une quand nous sommes arrivés...

Lo único que nos gusto fue la atención del Sr. Milton en el horario nocturno ,quien siempre estuvo atento a como nos encontrábamos diariamente y la limpieza de las sabanas del dia que llegamos.

Todo , no estamos acostumbrados a quedarnos en este tipo de lugar, pero hicimos reserva muy tarde y fue lo único que encontramos en el sector. Fue muy costoso para lo que ofrecían habitación para tres personas con baño privado) una habitación con un ventilador mínimo para un espacio amplio ( era época de mucho calor), no había iluminación (un bombillo gigante de luz amarilla que no iluminaba nada). En el espacio habilitado como vestier no había iluminación para las noches solo con la luz del baño que salía al abrir la puerta del mismo, en este mismo espacio donde se colocaba la ropa era un mueble muy endeble que se caía cada vez que se colocaba algo. En el baño no había biscocho para el inodoro (maltrataba para sentarse). Nunca nos despapelaron las canecas, ni cambiaron los tendidos. Ofrecían desayuno dentro del valor , Pero nunca que especificaron que era el desayuno ( era un bowl de frutas mini) no era desayuno ni americano ni continental. El cuál demoraban casi una hora en servir(el lugar de alimentación no hacía parte directa del hostal), adicional a esto tuvimos inconvenientes con la dueña del lugar de la alimentación por unos perros, ya que todos los días rondaban dos perros viejos y uno de ellos enfermo, el cual nos causo mucha curiosidad y observación, a lo cual la dueño nos contestó de mala forma por estar viendolo ( no es el recibimiento y calidez que estamos acostumbrados de los paisas, además no entiendo como pueden dejar el que en lugar de alimentos hayan perros, por más pet friendly que sea el lugar). Adicional a esto una de las mesas estaba que se partía y varias de las sillas tenian las patas torcidas y con peligro qué las personas puedan caer.

More than twenty years of travel and this is one of the most well-designed hostels I’ve stayed in: spread out common areas w/ varied seating/tables, decent kitchen, separate toilets & showers, etc.

The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. I was solo travelling and felt right at home and safe

Lindo patio, muchos baños y bastante espacio en la habitación. Todo muy limpio (baños y cocina). El Poblado es muy turístico y hay mucha joda pero en el hostel era bastante tranquilo que nos gustaba mucho!

Fue mi primera toma de contacto en Colombia y que maravilla comenzar aquí. Me sentí como en casa. He vuelto meses después para terminar aquí mi aventura de 85 días en Colombia. Ricky, Federico, Jorge, Andrés, Milton, Claudia, Laura, Camila, Isabella, gracias por tan buena bienvenida y abrirme las puertas a un rincón tan especial de Medellín. Super agradecido con todos.

Very chilled atmosphere feels like an oasis in the busy City. Great breakfast from the bowl café next door. Clean bathroom and common area. Could leave luggage until very late because we took a night bus.

Staff was a bit rude during checkin and didnt explain us anything. Not a very social hostel no activities etc. Quite expensive but thats Medellin. Private Rooms have open holes in the ceiling towards the common area so no real privacy.

El aseo excelente, la atención maravillosa, todo el personal siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Y de la ubicación mejor imposible . Es un hostal tranquilo que invita a descansar

Super relaxed place. The yard is really nice and peaceful and the hammocks are a nice touch. While I was there the hot water stopped working for two or three days but they did try and get it fixed asap. The owner informed me of this in advance. The breakfast they offer is a smoothie bowl in a nice cafe right outside the hostel(I think it’s called Betty’s)

This is not the hostel’s fault but there were long term stays in my room. They insisted on keeping the dorm room door closed and the lights off even if you were in the room. This led to the room getting extremely hot and damp and it smelled really really bad. One night I turned the fan on and pointed it towards me so the smell would not be so bad and to not disturb anyone else but one of the long term stays woke up in the middle of the night and pulled the plug on the fan. I had to wake up in horrible smell and plug it back in. He did this 3 nights in a row. One of them also had alarms going off and snoozing them 6 times and both of them listened to their phones without headphones. Would have loved to stay longer here but all this made me leave earlier than planned. Secondly there’s rarely anyone at the reception and they have signs that reception will be open at such and such time. This was not a dealbreaker for me. There’s usually staff around to answer questions.

He estado en este hostal varias veces y cada vez me agrada más por lo siguiente: Limpieza impecable: Sin duda, es el hostal más limpio de toda Colombia. Calidad humana: Su staff siempre está dispuesto a ayudarte en todo. Un agradecimiento especial a Fede, Milton, Ricky y Bri por su atención. Desayuno de lujo: Desayunar en @bettysbowls es un nivel superior, y el café premium de la finca de Fede es simplemente espectacular. Entorno natural: Es un lugar rodeado de naturaleza, con un pequeño río que pasa cerca y donde te despierta el canto de los pájaros. Lo mejor es que está muy cerca de Provenza, pero lo suficientemente lejos del ruido para descansar. ¡Es perfecto! Admiro mucho al equipo de YOLO, gracias por todo."

L’hostel est très bien placé, proche d’El Poblado mais pas en plein centre, ce qui est idéal pour le calme. Le personnel était très sympa et bienveillant. Les espaces communs de l’auberge sont simples mais bien décorés, surtout le jardin extérieur. Et tout est très propre. La chambre est simple mais suffisamment confortable.

Un oasis dentro del bullicio de La Provenza. Al estar pegado a un arroyo apenas se oye el bullicio del tráfico. Personal e instalaciones de 10. Un lugar para volver de nuevo!

O atendimento dos funcionários é ótimo! A cozinha muito equipada tb!! Tudo sempre limpo no hostel!

Tirando o café da manhã e o fato do quarto não ter uma janela por exemplo pra ventilar melhor, o resto é muito legal se vc tem um perfil de viajante mais jovem e comunicativo, que goste de festas. Eu não sou assim…Pra quem tb precisa se locomover pelo metrô, também não aconselho pq fica um pouco distante. Não é uma crítica em si, são mais informações que acho importante compartilhar.

Tuve que abandonar el alojamiento la primera noche por dos motivos importantes, el primero el ruido tan fuerte de un río que pasa cerca del alojamiento y no me iba a permitir dormir y el segundo que quise darme una ducha pero al observar el sistema, tenía la toma de tierra desconectada, poniendo en grave riesgo a cualquier usuario.

Close to restaurants and nightlife. Secure and spacious. Facilities are ok. Shared restroom are average. Shared showers need some hangers and shelves. River produces white noise, good for relaxation during night.

Exiting the building requires unlocking, it may be unsafe during an emergency. The room has no TV, no fan, and no table/desk. Showers need some shelves and hangers for clothes. No breakfast, no coffee. On arrival, there is no signal posted outside indicating the address nor the hostel name.

We had an amazing stay! I loved the facilities, the location and breakfast. Our room was cozy and not hot. I actually liked the sound of the creek.

I had a great stay here! The owner was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away. Breakfast was included and available all morning, which was a nice touch compared to other places. The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was good, and overall it was a pleasant experience — I even decided to extend my stay a couple more nights.

There’s not much to complain about — overall everything was good. Toward the end of the day, the staff seemed a bit tired, which is understandable since they work hard keeping things clean and organized. Nothing major, just a small observation. The owner was great and the overall vibe was positive.

It's a supernice place! Located in Poblado but with the nice backyard with hammocks and chillarea it's perfect to relax between the citychaos! Really recommend this place!

Très bien placé. C'est une bonne solution pour être logé à bon marché dans Medellin et dans un quartier agréable. Après, ça reste du collectif et il y a pas de fontaine à eau !

O hostel é bem localizado, tem tudo perto, desde supermercados até restaurantes e baladas. Os chuveiros são bons e quentes. A cozinha é grande e equipada.

Não pode fumar dentro do hostel, apesar de eles terem um espaço de convivência aberto e amplo. O café da manhã é apenas uma tigela pequena com frutas, fornecida pela lanchonete que tem em frente ao hostel. Parece que são estabelecimentos parceiros. O café da manhã não tem pão, café ou ovos.

The hostel is super super clean! Nice staff. Amazing breakfast, missed a coffee or tea tho.

The private room is way overpriced for what it is. Loud location (loud river and music late in the morning) Toilets too far from private room. At night, you are wide awake from the distance to the toilet.

Il manquerait une boisson pour le petit déjeuner. Bruyant aux alentours car quartier animé mais n'a pas troublé notre sommeil mais bon à savoir. Odeurs d'humidité dans la chambre.

The staff is amazing and very helpful. The hostel is super clean and the kitchen is one of the best equipped ones I came across in South American hostels. The breakfast bowl is delicious and it is easy to walk to bars, restaurants, public transport and salsa classes. I would definitely stay there again!

The dormitory doesn’t have privacy curtains but also for the very affordable price of the stay, it was fine. Just a minor detail though :)

Very clean facility. Super well equipped kitchen. Liked the hammocks and being able to chill in the courtyard. The breakfast included was also amazing!

Everything! I had a private room which was super comfortable. The place is located in a prime position for my Spanish classes and Dancefree salsa and bachatta dance classes and socials. I felt super safe wandering around at night. Its near the parties I couldn't hear them at night. All the staff are really helpful and friendly and indulged my Spanish even though some speak English including the owner who made me feel so at home I stayed even longer! The kitchen is fully equipped so very useful.

Not really negative comments but something to be aware of... There is a strong river flowing along side where the private rooms are. I slept fine but some people may find it loud. Noise cancelling headphones may be needed for some. Guests were nice but this isn't a social hostel, most people kept to themselves

Hostel owner was very attentive and ensured fresh coffee was available with breakfast each morning. Delicious smoothie bowls for breakfast each morning. An amazing tour given by owner all around Medellín. All staff were very friendly and helpful

Yolo Hostel was a fantastic place to stay. It truly felt like a second home. The accommodation was clean and simple, and the evenings were wonderfully quiet and peaceful—perfect for unwinding after a day in the city. The hostel is well-equipped with everything you might need, and the owner was incredibly kind and helpful. A special highlight was the breakfast and lunch spot right next to the hostel. We enjoyed the most delicious breakfasts there—highly recommended! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

YOLO is a very chilled hostel, far enough from the hecticness of the tourist area but close enough to be there in a 3 minute walk. I liked the hammocks, amazing breakfast and coffee at Betty's and the staff were the best. Also, I did a river tour and the transformation city tour with Federico, which I highly recommend!

It’s a nice place to meet international travelers and be around the night life in El Poblado. The staff is lovely, the breakfast is pretty good and the hostel is very clean all the time.

Even though the breakfast is good it was the first time that I was in a hostel and had to pay for the coffee, as they just give you the food. Also it’s always the same breakfast, it doesn’t matter how many days you’re there. My room had no opened windows, so it was very claustrophobic inside of it. The location is good, but keep in mind that you’ll have to walk 30 minutes to get to the closest metro station.

Federico was incredibly helpful. I had a few issues with topping up my SIM card and checking in for my flight the following day and he helped me solve everything. Super friendly, outgoing and there to help you with anything you may need. Thank you Federico!

Federico, the owner, is a very interesting person with an inspiring life story. He leads tours, try to take one if you can. But the facilities are great for the price and I had no issues.

The common area is fantastic—perfect for chilling out and meeting new people. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the staff were super friendly and ready to give you advices. Special shout-out to Aleja, who was incredibly sweet and always ready to help with anything you needed.

The hostel is about a 20-minute walk from the metro. Also, there's no air conditioning in the dorms, just two fans that were on all night, blowing directly in my face even when it wasn't needed.

We really loved staying here and even extended our stay. The staff is super friendly, they have a very good restaurant just outside and nice chilled courtyard which we really liked. Everything was cleaned several times a day. Top hostel!

Nothing. But if you like to party its maybe not the place to go.:)
