Location was excellent and much larger unit than expected.

To avoid an unjustified charge at the end of your stay, make a list of defective, broken or abnormally worn items upon your arrival. Don't neglect the tips of the knifs and all plastic items in the fridge.

We really enjoyed our condo. Beautifully decorated spacious, clean and felt safe. Location was great, walking distance to everything. Will certainly recommend to friends.

It was a safe , clean and quit, with en exception on one day we decided to stay and rest the neighbors were doing some upgrades to their property and it was very loud and water was also shut off

Good for what we wanted

This review is long (and long overdue) but I wanted to give this place the love it deserves. We have stayed in 3 different units at this property - all ground floor. (2 were 2 bedroom, one was 3 bedroom) They were ALL wonderful. We are about to return next week for our 4th stay at Magia - And 5th stay through condohotels. This property's location cannot be beat! It is situated between the beach and the heart of 5th Avenue. It is quiet at night, has a security entrance and concierge/guest services directly across the street. Within 5 minutes easy walking, you can be at the beach, or right in the middle of 5th Avenue. We love the benefit and ease of having 'hotel' services and amenities while staying in a private, fully equipped condo. The 2 pools are large, get great sun, and also offer plenty of loungers & umbrellas. Towels for poolside (white) and towels to take to the beach (striped) are obtained at check-in from guest services. The grounds are kept very clean, and maintenance is kept up. Staying in the ground floor units gives direct pool access from out your patio door, so popping in and out for refreshments is a breeze. The private back patio off the bedrooms is large and very nice to spend time having morning coffee or drinks in the evening. The units are spacious, open concept and surprisingly bright and airy for being ground floor. There are two lounging areas, a dining area, fully equipped modern kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and great A/C. The beds are very comfortable with ample linens and pillows, and a terrific wall unit/closet for storage of everything. There are TVs in the bedrooms as well as one in the living room. WiFi is generally good inside the units and in the proximal courtyard areas, but harder to keep a signal if sitting out back. Housekeeping and other services have been top notch. Any small issues we have had were quickly addressed with a call or visit to the concierge desk. They also are wonderful for dining and tour suggestions, calling taxis, delivering ice and water - You name it! (Shout out to Eric, who has been there every year we've stayed, and is a welcome familiar face.) Noise is minimal - staff are on the property and quick to address any disturbances if they arise. Booking has always been easy using their online reservation system and chat feature. They have been incredibly accommodating and respond quickly with changes to our reservations (adding guests, switching properties/units, etc...) We have also been pleased to have discounts at a number of restaurants and the spa services at their nearby Maya Villa property. As well, the Asi Beach Club attached to their El Taj property is just across the street, and serves great food and drinks - especially breakfast. We have nothing but good things to say about this property and Condohotels Playa del Carmen in general. There's a reason we keep coming back each year - It feels like our home away from home. Looking forward to returning next week!

We were unable to travel over the holidays due to the unprecedented airline cancellations across North America. We were on the phone for 7 hours with our travel provider trying to make alternate arrangements however given the time of year coupled with the flight cancellations we were unable to arrange transportation from Canada. We reached out to the property personally and via our travel provider to try to come up with a solution ie extend dates forward, provide future credit or partial refund. We were happy to try to come up with a solution that worked for everyone. The property refused to budge on their cancellation policy which is absolutely unacceptable given the circumstances and our willingness to work with them to create a workable solution for all parties. The property was easily able to resell the room given it’s the busiest travel season of the year and the first post covid Holiday season. Furthermore, I had a local business colleague call to request a unit during our travel dates and the condo told them they were fully sold out therefore leading me to believe they resold the room and doubled their profits. For a business that relies on foreign dollars the whole situation is absolutely unacceptable and I would suggest that you avoid anything that Playa Associates holds interest.

We just got back from our 4 day getaway and highly recommend this place . The apartment was very big and fully equipped with everything you would need. The apartment was clean and the location was great. It was one block away from the Main Street so close to everything you need but far away enough that you did not hear any of the noise. Definitely recommend!!! Thank you for the great service

Great ocean view! Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Location proximity to Quinta Avenida was wonderful! Water pressure was pretty bad. Lots of noise from A/C units. Hot tub didn’t work. No water or power on our last morning, which maybe was scheduled but we weren’t told.

The property was very pretty and very well maintained. Everyone was very helpful and shops and dining were in walking distance.

Everything was great, except that one of the bedrooms has black mold in the ceiling. It was a big deal since we suffer from allergies and astma.

The place is super nice, the staff super friendly. We are definitely coming back!

The condo is absolutely beautiful and gated. They also have a security guard that greets you when you arrive, informs you of rules and guides you where to go. The beach is literally steps away from the condo so make sure to save a day to just relax and enjoy the local beach. The first night we had no hot water but I’m guessing it was because it wasn’t used for a while, after that we were good to go. Staying here is like staying in Vegas, they never sleep, always a fiesta going on, you get to listen to mariachi, dj and people just having fun and singing. Keep in mind that the navigation might take you to a completely different area, search the gym. The condo is across from the gym. There’s a washer so do not worry about dirty laundry. You have all the amenities and a beautiful rooftop. Overall stay was amazing even though we had no time to enjoy the pools or gym so I do recommend a relaxing day to enjoy the beautiful stay at these condos. You have all the food options outside, street vendors and bars. If you do need a pharmacy, there’s plenty all over the place, you are staying in a excellent location, there’s even a mall about 7-10 minute walk, next to the cafe you can even rent a car or a bike. There’s literally everything around this place. Happy stays.

Other than infrequent contact from the rental agent, this was a great place. We had 4 people in a 3 bedroom condo. We had lots of room. The location was great. At the end of the two weeks we did have issues with the kitchen sink. It was clogged. I tried a plunger to no avail. The rental company didn’t get my email. When Marcos showed up Saturday morning he was surprised. M only way to contact Marcos was by email as my phone didn’t work in Mexico. I’m not sure what the issue was, but we weathered it nonetheless.

Hotel includes airport shuttle, but they insisted they would only pick us up 2 hours before our international flight departs. We told them several times that was not enough time, but the hotel did not care or try to provide an earlier shuttle. We ended up missing our flight. It shows the hotel does not care about its guests.

Cleanness of the property was poor. Bed mattress were like sleeping on the floor. The building and surroundings were extremely loud.

The penthouse is great but needs a lot of maintenance, the bathrooms very dirty , Kichet needs cups , glassware

Wonderful hotel for families or groups. There were 5 of us so the 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, sitting, dining and TV room came in handy. Secured entrance with staff on site. Due to covid, no housekeeping but we were provided enough towels and rags for 5 days. Rooms has balconies that look out unto the beautiful blue pools. Filtered water provided in the room. 1 block from 5th Ave the hub of restaurants and shopping, 1 block from the beach. Covid testing provided on site with results in 15 mins. We were very pleased with the hotel and its presentation. One sour note: very slow response from sales rep for the booking but that’s on them, not thr fault of the hotel.

Loved this place. Very spacious and had everything you would at a home. Even though we didn't use any of the stuff. It was there if necessary. Pool was nice. I would stay here again for sure. And I'm recommending it friends and family.

Highly recommend this hotel. The stay was perfect and without any issues during our 7 days in Playa del Carmen. No problems checking in, room was available at the proper time, and the front desk staff assisted us with any questions we had. This hotel has a strict HoA style ruleset, which we actually really appreciated. No parties, no loud noise after 10pm. In general a great place for some needed relaxation after dealing with the ridiculous year that was 2020.

Was awesome. The only bad thing was that we were chating with my family in the balcony and listening some music we werent being loud. And someone who works there in the condo came to the apartament and was ringing the door bell a lot of times, which wasnt nice at all. He didn't ring it once, he kept ringing the door bell desperate and didn't stop until we opened it.

The size and location of the property were perfect. Unfortunately, two of the showers didn’t drain properly. There’s nothing like a bad shower experience to start your day. The property owner was good at answering our questions when we had them. The pool area was fantastic. However, the pictures of the property make it seem like the beach is half a block away. Well, I guess you could say it is, but it’s just gross. It was where the fishing boats all anchor and cut up the fish. Needless to say, it smelled bad. Mamitas beach was only a five minute walk away and was wonderful! The sand was the nicest I’ve ever seen.

The condo is very centrally located and easy to find. The unit was clean and well equipped. The property manager Mario was very communicative and checked on us throughout our vacation. I would rebook in the future.

Loved our stay at Playa Magia! Everyone was so welcoming and the property is amazing! Will be back! We stayed in PH2D it was fabulous! I loved the private space with the splash pool! It was nice to look out at the ocean from our condo enjoy private time with a pool.🙂❤️

This is a very nice beachfront property. The apartment layout was awesome! 2 floors, 2 balconies, private hot tub. And the even had a washer for laundry. Can see the rust from the sea water. Preoperty starting to age. And they could have done a better job cleaning. Ultimately a great place! I'd love to stay again

Where do I start? Scale of 1-10, I will rate this experience a 4! Property is close to the beach, BUT you don’t want to visit that particular beach. It’s not swim friendly and dirty AF. The property at first glance is nice. The actual unit I booked is 2 stories with all you need. When you look a little closer you realize certain amenities that typically come in a property rental. Upstairs bedroom has no TV neither does main livingroom, upstairs bathroom has plumbing issues, (shower flooding) toilet not flushing properly. There is no one on site to address those concerns additionally there are no extra linens anywhere or blankets, pillows toilet paper, or trash bags for you to use if needed. The property management company that I booked through is virtually nonexistent online if you need some thing and call the telephone number no one answers. I attempted to call them even before my trip began for basic information And no one picks up or returns messages through the Hotels.com app. Another thing is the Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all. Signal shows full strength, but not even for a basic google search. Inside of the unit there is a staircase with no hand railing or safety feature to avoid an accidents especially if you have small children. The property appears to be in pretty decent shape it has a very nice pool area and garden and the upkeep is great. It has two pools that are NOT heated, so be prepared because it is pretty damn cold. All in all There are other options!!

Very large apartment 175 steps from the beach! 1 block from 5th Avenue. Perfect location. Security guard there 24/7. Safe area. 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Beautiful pool, elevator, full kitchen with all equipment. Balcony with partial ocean view. Clean, modern. Concierge easily available through the What App. Great value for what we spent.

I spent 5 nights in this two story Penthouse with 5 friends. I had no trouble checking in and the management company is conveniently just around the corner and was easy to deal with. Beyond that, I don't have much to say about them. The unit is a two story Penthouse with the third bedroom on the top floor. On the top floor is also a really large deck and a private splash pool. The place was very clean and nicely decorated, and, for a three bedroom, very large. The location is really excellent. It is one building away from the beach and about 75 yards from 5th Avenue.

Beautiful and safe property. You are less than one block to the beach! This is a quiet and peaceful place to stay that is not busy. Always a comfy spot by the pool.

These apartments have all that you can wish for. It's a home away from home in the middle of the touristic area of Playa. Everything is in walking distance. The pictures are true to reality. The kitchen is fully equipped. You have a water cooler with free water at your disposal. Minibar options in the fridge: coke, fanta, beer, wine etc., all at an accessible fair price. TV with Netflix and cable. Good AC in every room. Good water pressure. Security guard at the entrance to the condominium. Private underground parking garage. Nice well equipped pool area with very comfortable beachbeds and a new small gym next to the pool. Overall, you feel like there is nothing more to wish for. The staff is amazing: very kind, polite and ready to help with anything. They always make you feel welcomed. The included breakfast at the restaurant on the corner it's a delightful surprise of good taste. Totally recommended. They also have a beachclub access 2 streets down. They thought about every little detail that you might want or need. And they are always opened to suggestions. Always wanting to better themselves. Their efforts are visible. We were a group of 4 people and stayed in a 2 bedrooms apartment. We were so happy and comfortable that we didn't want to leave :)

if you want to stay on th riviera maya, go to this condos, if possible ask for magia apartments, incredible units, modern, great location , walking distance to everything . lounge area and gym are spectacular

I have stayed here twice, great location although beaches near by are not the best. Condo was beautifully decorated, clean, modern and the check in staff was very helpful. Had breakfast at Plank every morning and it was delicious Gabriel was always very attentive and gave us great suggestions on places to visit.

Magia Beachside is our home away from home. Great location, great service, great installations and great ammenities, great comfort. You and your whole family will have a blast. This is our second time at Magia and it wont be our last.

We loved the penthouse condo. The view of the beach toward the ferries was lovely. The swinging bed was wonderful to read on while enjoying the view and the AC. The room had everything we needed. The pool and pool area was wonderful....immaculately maintained. We loved the location...close to the beach, shopping, and some of our favorite restaurants. The only drawback was the neighboring rooftop AC units were noisy. Luckily I’m half deaf, but they were bothersome to my other half. Also , I didn’t love the windowless shutters along one side of the room. You couldn’t really open them to enjoy the view without losing the AC benefit. Kind of minor complaints. We spent lots of time at the pool which never seemed to be very crowded.

This is a lovely place to stay. The view of the beach is wonderful. The swinging bed was fun to relax on while enjoying the view. We loved the pool and surrounding grounds. They were immaculately kept and we usually had the pool to ourselves. The location was great for us...close to shopping and some of our favorite restaurants. The rooftop AC units next door were somewhat noisy, but that was really the only drawback, and the AC worked flawlessly!

It was a great location but the apartment smelled like mildew. There was also no WiFi. When we spoke to the front desk they said they’d send someone to look at it but nobody came. It’s hard when you are an overseas visitor not to have WiFi.

Everything was great. Until it was pool time. Seems like the staff out there doesn’t like people at the pool. They turn off the jets at 7pm. And they have signs saying high level of chemicals in the pool in the morning. Which means, the pool is off limits. Most of the time. Seems to me they don’t like guest using the pool. Or at least that’s how it feels.

I read all reviews prior to booking. The hotel was more beautiful than the pictures there. Location was one block away from the main restaurants and shops. Housekeeping was optional but we were never disappointed. The gym and equipment were in good condition although they removed the equipment after the first day of use and replaced it with new equipment. Overall, we will definitely be staying here on our next trip.

Nice swimmingpool and clean. The apartment is modern and big , have everything you need even washer and dryer . Very good service and safe area . Close to shops, bars, restaurants. Enjoyed our 4 days in this condominium , so can really recommend this place.

Condo was amazing and staff were very helpful. Location is great as it is close to the street with all the shops and restaurants. Close to beach but it too smelly from the seaweed at the moment. :)))))))

Was within walking distance from all the bars and restaurants it was a very clean and comfy place to stay in. The pool they have and the gym were in very good condition. I highly recommend this condo.

Perfect for young and old travelers - close to beach front, easy walk to Quinta Avenida, great concierge services, beautiful and spacious condo with pool! Breakfast at either restaurant was worth it - one had the beachfront view and the other was off of Quinta Avenida. Nothing was too much effort. Thank you!

I travelled with 3 girlfriends. We wanted something close to the beach and really nice. This place was amazeballs!!! Super dope location. First of all, it felt expensive (even though it was soooo not. The price was great!!!) also, the staff was superb. Very helpful with great attitudes. The free breakfast was an added bonus. I’m not talking about like muffins and bagels. This was real food. We got to choose from a few different restaurants and order any item on the menu. We had enchiladas, chilaquiles, French toast, etc. 🔥. The ONLY issue was WiFi. It was a bit spotty but we had access. Definitely recommend and I’d def stay there again!! Thanks to the staff there! We had a great time.

This Condo is in perfect location for beach, restaurants and shops. It's absolutely beautiful from the moment you enter from the gates. Very well maintained, quiet and had amazing views from the terrace. I stayed in the penthouse studio, it had a swinging bed (quite fun!) + normal bed; large hot tub on the terrace with sea views and fully equipped kitchen. I would LOVE to stay there again! Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Small issues with front door banging due to the wind and noise from the air con/vents from hotel next door. Good stay otherwise and loved the terrace to sunbathe in. Staff extremely helpful.
