Ryokan Karasawa

I chose the room with the garden view and there was an onsen and shower separately for our three rooms and as one night I was at hotel alone it was all to myself. The rooms were fantastic and spacious and there were restaurannts around the area, although it was off the Kanazawa beaten path.

Transit options were spotty as the bus stops were a distance away it is about 1500 Yen for cab to station so that is not bad

The ryokan is beautiful, the room had a beautiful view to the japanese garden, and it was very spacious. The onsen was nice and quiet, and the installations of the hotel were complete and clean.

The onsen didn’t have hair conditioner.

O ambiente é assim vintage, mas com um toque de modernidade. Parece ser um pouco essa a vibe de Kanzawa, o que é interessante. Fica a 5 minutos de estação de autocarro (apanhámos o nº 60 perto da estação de Kanazawa). Tem restaurantes para todas as refeições a 5-10 minutos de distância a pé e esse mapa é-nos fornecido pela anfitriã quando chegamos. O quarto é muito espaçoso, tem uma antecâmara que dá para o WC, sem banheira/duche. O duche é partilhado na zona dos onsen. Mas também há cabines de duche (que não chegámos a utilizar). Na altura em que chegámos um dos onsen não estava a ser utilizado e a anfitriã permitiu que o utilizássemos. Soube muito bem depois da longa viagem desde Hiroshima. Os futons são confortáveis e o quarto tem vista para um jardim muito bonito, mesmo estando a chover. O Ryokan está bem mantido.

A luz principal do quarto é muito clara e o interruptor fica longe. Poderia ser utilizada uma lâmpada regulável (quer em intensidade, quer em cor/temperatura). Essas costumam trazer um comando que poderíamos utilizar na cama. Aumentaria também a segurança.

Beautiful room, great onsen and the owner was lovely! It’s also really easy to get to from Kanazawa station. There were less guests one evening so the owner made one of the onsens private for us which was lovely. Would recommend!

The traditional Japanese room was beautiful and so was the garden. I loved the onsen. It was a great cultural experience. Also the owner was very friendly and helpful.

Nothing really although if you are booking this property just be aware it is a bit far from town. We used Ubers to travel to and from town each day.

It felt real: not in the center and old, but staff was very kind! We had a very good stay and the room was the biggest we got in Japan 😊

L’accueil de la propriétaire qui nous a attendues après l’heure limite du Check in, la décoration de la chambre, son confort et sa propreté, l’onsen très agréable et très propre. Les restaurants à proximité du ryokan sont excellents.

Le ryokan est excentré. Des bus sont à proximité mais en fin de journée il y en a un par heure, il ne faut donc pas le rater ! Le ryokan est très proche d’une route très passante et d’un centre commercial. Le bruit du trafic routier s’entend de la chambre. Les parties communes mériteraient un petit rafraîchissement.

최악임. 오만원이면 갈 숙소를 35 만원에 가서 좀 그랬음. 밥도 안주고 방음은 아예안되서 거실에서 걸어다니는 소리가 다들리고 애기들 엄청 뛰어다님. 료칸이 아니라 한국 시골 여관 생각하면됨. 온천이라기엔 우리집 욕조만한 탕있고 발렌 변기랑 헤면대만있음. 오만원이상 가격엔 추천 절대 안함. 사실 난 평생 다시는 가고 싶비안음

It was a really lovely and traditional place. I absolutely loved everything about it.

I really missed the food options. That would have made the stay perfect. But, for a different but still kind of traditional experience, don't miss out on the nearby Super Sentō! Good food options and serving robots. Plus, the menu is also available in English!

Alle 9.00 di mattina quando sono andata per lasciare le valigie la struttura era deserta, ho dovuto chiamare tramite un telefono vicino alla reception perché arrivassero due persone che chiaramente erano appena state svegliate dai loro letti. Struttura di per sé un po’ fatiscente, lasciata andare a se stessa, non c’è la doccia in stanza, ma bisogna utilizzare l’onsen comune della struttura. Camera gelida, hanno lasciato le finestre aperte fino al mio arrivo alle h 19.00 di novembre. È stato praticamente impossibile alzare la temperatura con il condizionatore presente in stanza.

Amazing and friendly staff. This ryokan has so much history, and you should definitely talk with the owners to get the story!

Traditional style

The staff were friendly, but we didn't see them again after we checked in. Smoking is allowed in the accommodation, so the rooms smelled of cigarettes, which was awful. Cleanliness in the house is a different story altogether; everything was dirty. The water in the shower was cold, so we could only wash in the onsen, which was full of hair and hadn't been cleaned. A separate comment about the cold: it was very cold, but the air conditioning on warm air saved the situation inside the room. The price and quality do not correspond to the accommodation at all.

Es un ryokan al estilo japonés muy bonito. Para dormir en un tatami es bastante cómodo. La mujer de recepción es un encanto y nos estuvo ayudando el todo lo que le preguntábamos.

Está un poco apartado del centro pero hay una parada de bus a menos de 10 minutos que te lleva hasta el centro de la ciudad.

Nothing was right and through Bookings.com I paid far too much for our room.

I chose a Ryokan to experience a Japanese Inn with a Japanese room sleeping on a tatami and paid top dollars for the experience. When we arrived, we got an ugly, no light, western type room with zero charm. All Japanese type rooms were taken. Basically, we were taken and paid top dollars for a no star motel room in an awful location, requiring a taxi to get anywhere. Bookings.com is complacent because the rating of this inn is simply false, if you do not get a Japanese style room. Because of this I will never again book a room through Bookings.com. This inn was falsely advertised. I am happy to pay a fair price. I detest being taken because I am an American. The inn keeper's excuses were fake. She happily took advantage of us.

È stata una notte indimenticabile! Una vera esperienza di ryokan giapponese! La proprietaria è stata molto gentile con noi e la stanza era bellissima. L’ideale per rilassarsi e staccare la mente. Abbiamo anche utilizzato l’onsen privatamente ed è stato molto bello.

The staff were fantastic and the facility was beautiful. We did not realize how much we would like Kanazawa and this place made us feel very welcomed.

La gentillesse du personnel toujours disponible pour nous appeler un taxi et le calme de ce Ryokan avec son onsen très simple et disponible à toute heure.

L'établissement est plutôt vieillissant et l'emplacement pas pratique en transport en commun (bus) mais nous avons pris le taxi tous les jours.

Ce ryokan est un voyage dans le temps à lui tout seul. L'ambiance est incroyable avec son onsen et ses différents jardins japonais. Dès le début on est guidé avec le personnel sur les bonnes adresses du coin et nous avons une carte des incontournables de Kanazawa. Cela fait trois fois que je viens au Japon et je pense que j'ai trouvé mon Ryokan préféré.

You can tell it was once a nice property, but it seems to be having trouble maintaining that level.

The room I was in smelled strongly of kitty litter and had no windows or other ventilation. The fan was on high when I entered the room and there was a deodorizer outside the door, so this seemed to be a known issue. Usually I don't mind overlooking small issues at family-run accommodation, but the odor was really quite overwhelming. This was one of the only remaining rooms in town during the Kanazawa Marathon so I understand they would want to make the most of the opportunity, but this room did not seem fit for rental. The men's bath also had an odor of mold, so I was left with the feeling that the overall cleanliness was questionable.

I had a garden room with a toilet, the view was good, hosts helpful, I used the onsen a couple of time and had it to myself bith times. Near a bus stop, family mart and places to eat. It was a good size room and I really enjoyed Kanazawa, it was a peaceful part of my trip.

Ryokan tradicional con onsen. Las habitaciones y las instalaciones son bonitas y con historia pero se ve un poco viejo. El personal muy amable y servicial y con varios restaurantes cerca del alojmiento.

Se ve un poco viejo y está bastante lejos del centro de la ciudad y de la mayoría de atracciones. Además está muy cerca de una autopista, por lo que la zona puede ser un poco ruidosa, pero la verdad es que no la escuchabamos desde la habitación.

We loved staying at this Ryokan! It had a nice, peaceful atmosphere to it, and offered everything we needed. The room was spacious and the staff was friendly. Every evening ended with a warm bath in the onsen, which we really enjoyed. Upon arrival, we got a map of the area and som restaurant recommendations, which were very good as well. I strongly recommend this Ryokan for a relaxing and authentic experience while visiting Kanazawa.

For me the unic problem its that all the comun areas are quite a mess. I understand that the owners leave there too. No problem. But what you canot have its personal things in the corridors, a kitchen full of stuff and desorganize. The entrace full of shoes. The house its beatiful but i belive that need a renovation in the main areas.

Der einzige Nachteil war die Lage: a) Entfernung zum Zentrum, dies war aber durch den in 5 Minuten Fussweg-Entfernung abfahrenden Bus zu vertreten b) Gravierender war der Lärm von der in der Nähe sich befindenden Stadtautobahn - fas ist wirklich sehr schade, aber ein grosser Nachteil!

Exactement ce que nous recherchions au Japon. L'accueil de la maîtresse de maison est particulièrement agréable et bienveillant. L'appartement de style Japonais classique était au-dessus de nos attentes et très confortable face à un jardin de détente. Les bains "Onsen", l'ambiance feutrée, les décorations d'époque, TOUT y était pour nous détendre. A RECOMMANDÉ absolument. Rapport qualité-prix à féliciter. Restaurant Sushi, Ramen, boutique 24/24 à proximité. Facilité métro pour se rendre dans l'historique de Kanazawa. Quelle belle ville !!!

It was so peaceful arriving to Ryokan Karazawa after some hectic days in Tokyo. I loved my room. The on-site baths were so nice. I felt rejuvenatef after my stay.

The ryokan is a bit far away from the historical sites in Kanazawa, but if you don’t mind taking the bus or walking (like me), that won’t be an issue!

The mattress was a little to hard for my back.

The traditional ryokan room 'Moon' was amazing, it was roomy and the view on the garden was stunning! The futon beds were very comfortable and it was fun to be able to rearrange the room so easily. The onsen was very nice too, and it was tattoo friendly so me and my partner could use them! A great experience overall. Kind hostess, close to good food, a laundromat, a big bookstore and a big secondhand store.
