Everything was outstanding, and every staff member was delightful.

Hands down The Loch Lomond Arms must be the most thoughtfully and creatively decorated hotel I've ever stayed in. Recently renovated earlier this year, this property is a delight from the bar and dining room downstairs to the hallways and rooms. Each room is totally unique featuring a local clans person or theme and is curated with unique art, decor, photographs, and objects, all done with very high-end fabrics, bedding, furniture and finishing touches. The designer deserves an accolade for his/her superior work. The linens, towels, and robes are top quality. Local chocolates and a dram of whiskey and gin as well as a complimentary bar with soda waters and beer, cookies and a beautiful coffee/tea station are in each room. Lindsay at reception was so pleasant and helpful on check-in. Liam in the uniquely charmingly decorated bar conducted a whiskey tasting for guests. most enjoyable and interesting stay. Cuisine in the dining room for breakfast and dinner was good.
The dining room serving staffing arrangement needs refinement and organization as both dinner and breakfast service was disjointed and delayed.
Das schönste Hotel in Schottland. Wunderschönes Zimmer , Personal super freundlich, Frühstück sehr gut
Liebevoll eingereichter historischer Pub. Hervorragendes Essen. Sehr freundliches Personal.

The food at dinner was very poor.
We loved the location, the renovation was outstanding. Staff are fantastic We are looking to return.
The fact it’s booked up and we can’t seem to find a date to book back in.
This is a lovely property on Luss. The charming decor and the on-site restaurant made our stay feel special. Great options on the menu and attention to details in the guest rooms were appreciated. We enjoyed the whiskey tasting offered on the evening of our arrival.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Service in the restaurant was quite slow and seemed a bit unorganized.
The uniqueness and quirkiness of the rooms and the total layout. It was like a museum. stepped in history if you were interested so it made for fascinating reading about all the family and. memorabilia.
The entrance was quite confusing and they didn’t have a set check-in area. The check-in area was the Bar.
How unique the room and decoration was. Not the standard "chain" of hotels where everything looks the same. A genuine attempt to be different. Loved the hand written letter in the room and the key fob which was a pocket watch.
Nothing really
Breakfast was excellent, and flexibility on check out time
Grumpy person at door who wouldn't even check if the room as available so I could check in early
Beautiful Room, and location.
Breakfast, ok
Very charming. Very comfortable. Inspired décor where contemporary style meets tradition. Excellent food and service in a beautiful dining room. Ideally located in Luss, right by the loch. Highly recommended.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel, the personnel politeness and the area it is located; Luss is a beautiful village.
The stairs… 😊 of course they are part of the hotel’s atmosphere!
an amazing hoy=tel in a wonderful location
Can't think of anything
Such a lovely welcoming hotel in a stunning location. Absolutely loved the way it has been decorated - so tasteful! The bar area is comfortable and intimate and the staff were fabulous. Our meal was generous and delicious.
The location and old style charm. Very friendly staff, especially John the Porter. Our room „Lion in the Trenches“ was charming and full of memorabilia.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
The accommodation The staff The food Relaxing atmosphere
Shower set up
We got the suite and it was totally worth it, as we had an entire cottage to ourselves. Spacious, clean and atmospheric just like the entire hotel. Definitely recommended for a stay in Loch Lomond with a real Scottish feel.
Nothing. Everything was great.
A gorgeous atmospheric little hotel, located in Luss. Comfy bed and an enjoyable dinner.
Bathroom a little cramped but not a problem.
Everything, from interior design to exterior and restaurant service
Not so mich that I didnt like it, but the room in the attic was extremely hot and the sheets as well so we’ve had hard time sleeping
What a lovely hotel! Located close to Loch Lomond, this lovely hotel was a wonderful place to stay. We were sorry we could only stay one night. From the start, the service was top notch. The staff showed us to our room and pointed out multiple features, told us the story behind the hotel and the family, explained the art, and noted the many amenities, which included our own nespresso machine, chocolates, snacks, beverages and more. We rented a twin room and it was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was gorgeous too - a strange thing to say- but it was, and it had a spacious shower and separate bath tub. The grounds are quite lovely, with a sitting area in the back and an adorable den for beverages in the front. Everything about this place was top notch. Perhaps the biggest delight was the breakfast, which included a massive continental spread and your choice of a hot item. I chose the vegan scotttish breakfast, which was outstanding. The bar was set high- too high- for the rest of our trip. Despite the luxury feel, the hotel seemed reasonably priced compared to many places we stayed in. If you're visiting Loch Lomond - I would highly recommend staying here. My only tiny gripe is that you need to reserve ahead of time if you want to eat in the restaurant, even if you're staying there. As we traveled throughout Scotland, we later found out that reserving for dinner was necessary but we had not been anticipating that.
Everything was of a high standard, clean tastefully decorated. But what made the hotel were the staff, Lindsay on reception was so professional with a very kind nature. But the person that made our stay wonderful was Margaret Ann the duty manager, she went above and beyond to help us in anyway she could (as my husband has terminal prostate cancer) so much so my husband stated at a drop of a hat he if possible would drive the 6 hour journey back to stay at the hotel. Also a big thank you to every other member of staff for making our stay wonderful
Nothing
Stayed at the Loch Lomond Arms following recent refurbishment. The Hotel is full of charm and character. Our bedroom had its own unique story and tales of the Colquhoun Clan. Following cocktails in the map room we had fabulous dinner in The Treasury restaurant. Dinner was delicious and staff extremely attentive. The evening was topped off with a romantic walk down to Luss Pier overlooking the Loch.
Stunning location for exploring. Lots of history to the hotel. Reception staff fabulous.
All good
Hotel in seinem "alten" ursprünglichen Stil, aber alles gut gepflegt. Sehr gutes Frühstück
The hotel was very nice, outside space was great for a drink, dinner was very good, room was comfortable and clean and individually decorated, and finally the breakfast (food wise) was as good as you would expect! Although there were issues at breakfast, see below.
A hotel vehicle was blocking the EV charger when I arrived, it was moved after asking but this is annoying and the hotel should show others this is not ok as per the signage. At dinner it felt the room was over staffed (no issue, just felt there were more staff then needed) but at breakfast it seemed they were understaffed with tables not cleared in a timely manner. Cleaners were cleaning the room where the continental breakfast items were at 9am, it would have been better to do that after 10am when the breakfast was finished. They also hoovered the entrance which again could have been done once the breakfast was done. Finally, a contractor came to clean the toilets and used the dining room as a walkway (breakfast), I am sure there was an alternative route. Seemed there was no management at breakfast which really let the place down, and certainly for a hotel pitching 400-500 a night should do better!
A wonderful stay at the newly refurbished Loch Lomond Arms. As a family we have stayed a few times at the hotel before its transformation earlier in the year. What a difference, it was great before but now it is fantastic! more spacious and luxurious thanks to some well thought out changes in space. A fantastic afternoon on the sun terrace, a fabulous evening meal and a great night's sleep in the well appointed rooms. The history of the Clan Colquhoun greets you around every corner and adds a little bit more magic to the experience. Will be back soon!

Absolutely disgusted with experience. Recently on 29th July, I took my wife and her elderly friend for a birthday lunch and was charged £122.63 for 2 x fish n chips, 2 x small glasses house red wine (125ml), 2 x small glasses house white wine (125ml), and one cappuccino. I had a glass of house water, no food. This is obscene! Even the young waiter was embarrassed and commented that 'perhaps we should have informed you of the cost of a glass of wine, as it is not noted on lunch menu.' Then to round it off, received a letter 10 days later for a parking charge fine of £60. On entry to hotel, they're quite happy to get you in and seated and don't even have the common courtesy or decency to ask or inform their customers if they require validated parking. Between obscene food/drink costs and parking scam, great money making scheme you having running here. Exploiting your customers, and more so tourists, now that's a really good impression your leaving with them! You should be ashamed of yourselves, disgraceful! Suggest you revisit your company values and policy. Sad thing is I used to bring my family here when they were younger and had a great experience. Where has your values gone? Took the 30 pieces of silver?
Location, decor was very nice.
I did not really enjoy my stay here. Room was a bit cramped, food was very nice, but portions were very small for what you were paying, and as for the breakfast, it was reasonably on our first day, but substantially reduced on day 2. Felt very much like leftovers, or they were running out of food. Other minor inconveniences would only be nit-picking.
Fantastic room - really well decorated. Great themes for the rooms as well - very interesting. Great service. Lindsay on reception was always very helpful esp. getting us a sort notice dinner reservation there. Fantastic dinners - had sun blushed tomato basil and Spring onion risotto one night and asparagus and mushroom linguine the other and both were exceptional. My sister had the steak and ale pie one night as well and she said that was her favourite meal of the trip! Really thoughtful complementary bits in the room, including stationary to write a postcard out, and complementary mini bar bits as well as locally sourced biscuits and chocolates - all complementary - was a very warm welcome. Situated minutes from loch Lomond, beautiful views.
Little bit loud at times but okay if you have ear plugs. Wasn't made clear to us on arrival when breakfast is served, where it is served etc. so were a bit confused when we came down the first night and only figured out that the continental breakfast bits and juices were in an adjacent room because we saw other guests go out there, so may have missed out there otherwise.
Amazing property in superb location
Items on menu not available.
Staff showed no initiative , tables left messy well after clients had left tables. No evidence of any management or supervision.
Brilliant traditional Scottish music with a girl trio which made the evening.. they deservve a residency.. great duck dish.. big improvement under new management in 2026
Portion sizes small. Ordered venison carpaccio followed by Halibut, the slithers of venison were the size of a 10 pence piece. My partner and I could not believe how small the portion was. The venison pieces were so small I could only taste vinegar from the dressing or sauce. The Halibut was good but a small portion, not worth the £32 asking price. I ordered a glass of white wine. The cost on the bill was £13.50. My partner had the steak pie. It looked very unappetising but he said tasted ok. It had the look of a supermarket bought pie. The carrots also very unappetising and he didn’t eat them. They were unwashed and they didn’t have the hard black tops cut off. I also overheard the next table (also locals) discussing the Cullen skink they ordered. They only got a 1/3 of a bowl of soup. They had to ask for more and for the chef to remove the pastry. Why would you add pastry on top of Cullen skink? The staff were good and service pretty quick. We visit for occasions 2 or 3 times a year and are so disappointed that the soul of the place is gone. What a shame their English designers think Scotland is only about stags. I think their market now is about making as much money from tourists as possible. We won’t be back but please give the chef a bigger budget.
My girlfriend and I stayed here last month following the new opening, and it is easily one of the best refurbishments I have ever seen. The hotel is absolutely stunning—especially the Whisky Bar with maps on the ceiling, mounted animals, and photos of the local area that make the room feel warm and cosy. For the room, we stayed in the 'Underwater Sure-Shot' room, which was beautifully decorated to match its name. The room also had a QR code which took us to a webpage that gave us information on the history of the woman who the room is decorated in the memory of. While the rooms are on the smaller side, the decor and cozy vibe more than makes up for it. We would definitely return for a longer stay.
Beautiful location,friendly staff
The recent remodel was very beautifully done. Our room was on the smaller side but had all we needed and was so cosy. The staff was so welcoming and friendly and dinner at the restaurant was delicious.
They had very recently reopened from the extensive remodel and it seemed that they were still working out a few kinks with dinner service and timing (waited for my beverage 15 minutes longer than my husband). It was delicious though when it came!
Beautiful traditional and well maintained inn in wonderful location
Breakfast and dinner staff apathetic and disinterested and inhospitable unlike hotel experience. Unfortunately this certainly detracts from stay
Decided to stop at the Loch Lomond Arms for a quick bite to eat but as there was nothing on the menu that we fancied we decided to move on. We were in the car park 15 minutes. At no time did any member of staff advise us that if we didn't register our car at the terminal in reception we would receive a parking fine of £60. WHAT A SCAM. Will never be back and advise all customers to avoid Luss Car Park and make your own judgement about a hotel that manages parking by hosting the register terminal at their reception and then does not at least warn patrons of the parking rules.
Good food excellent staff made stay pleasant
Some fan noise
Excellent breakfast and dinner, comfortable room and bed, beautiful location, and wonderful, friendly staff
Beautiful location in Luss Village. Very cosy room, super comfy bed & amazing shower. Breakfast was reallt good, varied chouce, hot food cooked to order.
Our meal in evening was just ok. The staff seemed disinterested and had to ask to order/chase up drinks several times. Couple times plates abd cutlery were just thrown down on table. We think we are quite friendly people, but there waa no chat and we just felt we were in the way/had done sometjimg wrong. My duck main delicioys, but partners steak very thin and overcooked. Meal was expensive so exoected more.
Beautiful hotel — charming rooms, comfortable beds, and right in the middle of the cutest village
Cadre typiquement écossais, chambre confortable
Peut-être le personnel un peu réservé
Comfy beds and pillows, nice food
The food was very expensive and you didn’t get a lot, also wait staff took ages to attend to me, although I do appreciate they were busy
Everything, including the name of the room!
Spinach in the veggie breakfast, otherwise it was excellent!
staff were friendly food was wonderful
Everything was great but the bathroom in the room we were staying in needed some work done on it the lindsay room
An underwhelming experience in a Loch Lomond cottage overlooking a car park. The cottage was tired, the beds deeply uncomfortable, as was the sofa in the sitting room. The heating in the cottage was sporadic, sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold, sometimes nothing at all. No bath, and a shower with not much power. No offer of clean towels (had to ask), half a roll of loo roll (had to ask for more). The cottages (due to the A road between the cottages and the hotel) don't feel part of the Loch Lomond Arms, more of an afterthought rather than part of the overall experience. Dangerous and very busy A road to cross in order to get to Luss and the Loch itself. Wardrobes too old to hang up dresses or suits properly, with one of the bedrooms having no hanging space at all. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, although the oven and hob have seen better days. I'd say the cottage was of a 'bare minimum' standard. The bedding was clean, but the duvet was thin and old, and the mattress needs replacing. For those over the age of 25, you might want to consider an alternative for a good night's sleep. Cleanliness is good at move-in, but there are no signs of cleaning or fresh linens beyond check-in. Food in the hotel itself was good, although not as good as

Beautiful, well maintained accommodation
Crossing the main road. There should be traffic lights/zebra crossing/bridge to access the hotel, in my opinion. I felt the road was a dangerous crossing with young children.
I loved the decor and the atmosphere of the hotel. Friendly and most attentive staff.
Lack of tongs to select bread for breakfast.
We enjoyed a memorable and special stay in the Riversedge Suite during Hogmany. I'm not sure that there are any other places that could compete, a real wood fire, beautifully furnished, the stream at the side is quite a delight, whilst having all the conveniences of being part of the larger hotel. The cottages are a short stroll away from all the features of Luss, which is stunning in itself. We need to make a particular mention to the hotel manager and staff who went above and beyond to address any issues we had. Even when our little boy lost his coat, they were so kind as to help with shipping it back to us, it's just arrived, thank you Loch Lomand Arms!
I've stayed here before for work and the reason I rebooked was because the hotel is clean, cosy and in a great location and the food is fantastic. All of the staff are friendly and professional too. I couldn't fault this great hotel or it's wonderful staff.

the food was amazing, also the dinner
nothing
The Rooms were comfy
Dinner: Took 40 mins from sitting down before our drinks were ordered. Whilst we watched other people arrive after us, be served enjoy their drink and starter before our food order had been taken. we would be very reluctant book to dine in the Restaurant again, because of this.
Ambiance chaleureuse. Excellent restaurant.
Rien. Tout était très bien.
Very cosy and charming pub / hotel with wonderful fireplaces. Staff were very welcoming and professional / great service and warm. Food and wine were really good quality and the oysters were delicious.
Rooms should be refursbished to make it look just a bit more neater and modern.
It was sold as a coaching inn. There was no opportunity to mix with residents as the imperative was to have meal covers. There was no lunch time menu like sandwiches and baked potatoes. No one knew our name in a 4-day stay. The Xmas lunch was a bland catering pack and after 4-hours seated we had no where to go other than our bedroom that had no table or chairs. This because the resident supposed library was taken up for meals. Also that library was taken up in our stay for visiting diners who wanted a drink afterwards. I now no why the staff persisted in asking for my Xmas menu (non refundable) over a month before. Had I known I was paying well over £1,200 for this dismissive stay, I would have cancelled.
Just had a really lovely lunch after a weekend staying at Cameron House. The menu was great. It's a shame to read some of the bad reviews. Don't let it put you off. The menu options were great. I hate a big menu with loads of options. Quality over quality always Out waiter Ben was exceptional, attentive and a credit to the restaurant. I hope he shows his Mum this review. She should be super proud Thanks for a lovely meal.
Mooie kamers en een zeer authentiek interieur.
Het eten en vooral de service in het restaurant was ondermaats voor de prijs die je betaalt.
Its character , the food and the staff were amazing
Being ignored by two young waiting staff. Trying to get served for 30 mins before deciding to leave
The evening meal was excellent
Have been many times before and they loch Lomond arms hotel is always so warm and welcoming
Couldn’t stay long enough!
We had visited this hotel for dinner over many years, and decided to mark a special occasion by staying overnight in a four poster room which looked lovely, and was, until sadly a very bright green light shone on us and on the walls from the ceiling all night, keeping us awake, together with an intermittent deep vibrating noise that seemed to come from a room below. We didn’t sleep due to the light and noise, and did speak to reception about this.
Great location as we were meeting up with friends in the hotel for dinner.
The climb upstairs for the bedroom.
Great location. Traditional style. Room was well appointed, good linen on the bed, nice bathroom but shower head a little low for 6ft person.
I liked it overall. However I had to go out to the car to retrieve something after dark, and there was no lighting at all. And as the car park was gravel and a bit rutted it was a very uncomfortable walk to and from the hotel. I saw the lights the next morning, so there are some provided, just not lit??!!
Character of the hotel is nice and the open fires were very cosy. We really enjoyed the bath and the house keeping of the room was exceptional.
Nothing really
Excellent hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Great food and fantastic location.
Top hotel. Erg sfeervol ingericht met een leuke woonkamer met houtkachel die regelmatig gestookt werd.
the decor, the temperature, the ambience, the whole experience
lighting in the car park, when we arrived after dark
Beautifully presented accommodation. Roaring fires, Caledonian charm excellent hospitality and service.
Cool miljö
Inte superlyxigt men trevligt
Good food and friendly staff, but unfortunately let down by poor tired room with water dripping through mouldy ceiling in wardrobe cupboard and mattress smaller than divan base
A truly awful experience. The only thing we could pick off the menu was burgers. Choice was niche and limited for the average restaurant goer. Would have had the fish and chips but we had it the day before. The service by this young woman with dark hair was spectacularly disingenuous. She managed to serve us last despite requesting things like food or the bill before other tables she was serving. The burgers were out of a packet with frozen chips and were dry and tasteless. We paid £50 for two soft drinks and the burger and chips. Utter rip off. It ruined a lovely trip to Loch Lomond. Needless to say, we won’t be returning anytime this millennia.
Leuk Schots ingericht hotel met leuke kamer. Locatie in Luss is prettig en op loopafstand van het water Loch Lomond. Diner was erg goed, bediening erg vriendelijk en gratis parkeren naast het hotel.
Ottima posizione, ottimo ristorante, camera pulita e spaziosa, parcheggio gratuito. Luss merita una visita e questo hotel e' perfetto.
What a fabulous location to be as a solo traveller. I felt cared for by the excellent staff at the hotel. A gorgeous room with everything I needed. Right on the doorstep of the famous Luss homes. Book here ..... you will not regret it.
There was nothing i disliked.
Good food and friendly staff, but unfortunately let down by poor tired room with water dripping through mouldy ceiling in wardrobe cupboard and mattress smaller than divan base
Me and my daughter had a lovely stay’ xx
Loved the ambiance! Absolutely LOVED the library room. I spent a few hours curled up, reading. It was so lovely! Just loved it!
The shower system is a bit cumbersome. We had water pouring out of the break in the 2 glass sections. Once we figured out how the gaskets needed to be, it was all sorted.
We stayed in one of their cottages for a four night stay. We had a great time. The cottages are a short walk from the hotel and are very well furnished and with plenty of utensils. We could not fault it.
The location was good, and the room was spacious. The staff were friendly and the service was efficient.
Based on the facilities, and overall standard of the room, the price was a little high. There was no space in the room to hang coats / walking gear, especially when wet. There was a very limited vegetarian selection in the restaurant.
Good meal. Friendly staff. All brilliant. However shortly after my isit I received a parking ticket for £60 as I hadn't registered my car registration in the hotel. I had not seen signs and no member of staff told me about this arrangement. Spoilt a lovely day out with my granddaughter - so disappointed - will be avoiding in future
Dinner was very good in a country fashion. The fire in the Library was excellent
room was a bit tight when there are 2 suitcases to open
Another visit to this dog friendly gastro pub on the shores of Loch lomond. Friendly staff and very a menu with just enough choices.
Such a beautiful hotel. The rooms are beautiful. And the best bed I've slept in.
room was lovely. breakfast was super. location perfect. great atmosphere and lovely relaxing lounge area. attractive bar area , easy parking and walking distance to all amenities
service at dinner
The most beautiful hotel in such a great location. Very close to the town and such a beautiful view. Clean and well kept with excellent staff.
Nothing it was great.
Beautiful property. Staff were amazing. Loved the town too!
Attended family wedding in beautiful Luss. The hotel really did a great job in making sure the event went well despite the inclement weather ! Kitty was super efficient at keeping momentum behind the day. The function room was excellent and fit for purpose with the terrace being excellent when the sun did come out. The food was excellent and plentiful for the wedding meal and breakfast. On the development side, the hotel doesnt have a large bar area which when the restaurant was full with separate guests for meals meant the library was pretty full however this didnt detract from the experience.
The rooms are very comfortable, clean and quiet. Great position in the village with resident parking. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are a good spec and very user friendly- great shower.
The staff all appeared to be afraid of the guests. Interaction was very limited, very regimented. Although professional and proficient. Reception was unwelcoming (only one member of staff) at check in who made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. The guest communal space is limited, a library available that non residents can use.
Sehr schönes ebenerdiges Zimmer, Parkplatz vorm Haus, ruhig, schöne Dusche, alles bestens.
Lovely accommodation with plenty of parking. Great location to walk down to the loch. Few shops and everything we needed for a short stop over. Food at the hotel was exceptional and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room was quite small and compact but the bathroom was plenty big enough. Nice decor but maybe looking a little tired.

Areas to consider
Cleanliness
9.5/10Rooms and property described as well maintained and recently remodeled; occasional issues noted in dining area (tables left messy, cutlery/plates dropped) but overall very clean.
Service
6.8/10Repeated comments about apathetic, disinterested or inattentive staff (restaurant service slow, had to chase drinks, lack of initiative and supervision, parking not clearly communicated).
Location
9.6/10Consistently praised — beautiful, central location in Luss village and perfect setting for the inn.
Room Quality
9.1/10Rooms described as charming, cosy and comfortable after a recent remodel; beds and showers frequently praised (super comfy bed, amazing shower).
Amenities
9/10Generally positive or unremarked beyond the refurb; parking setup caused a negative experience for at least one guest, but on balance amenities are viewed positively after the remodel.
Value for Money
7.2/10Several guests felt food and some meals were expensive for what was received; expectation vs cost concerns for dinner portions and quality.
Food and Beverage
8.6/10Food quality receives strong praise (excellent breakfast and many delicious meals) but F&B service and timing issues (slow service, some overcooked items) temper the score.
Overall Experience
9/10Overall stays are very positive — beautiful property, cosy rooms and many friendly interactions — but recurring service/staffing issues in dining and parking friction reduce perfection.
